Hubby and I had lunch here on our way to see the castle. The staff were friendly. We sat outside and people watched while eating. You can pay with credit card.

Really nice place to have breakfast. The food was delicious. I have a 6yr old daughter she loved the pancakes.

Fabulous lunch time spot. Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and we were immediately seated. The food was delicious and the staff was wonderful!

Stopped in and had breakfast for dinner. They do serve breakfast all day long, and that sounded good. Try the French toast, it was definitely an experience. Food was excellent. Fresh, hot, generous portions. Service was great.

Love this place, they serve amazing gluten free food. Would highly recommend this to anyone with celiac/gluten intolerance and has specific dietary requirements! My only caveat is that there was a slightly weird smell as soon as I walked in the restaurant, so I decided to sit outside to avoid the smell...

I had a quick stop at this coffee shop. Just nearby the bus stop. The atmosphere is welcoming. The staffs are kind. I love their hot chokolate 🌞👌.

Very popular spot with tourists for full spread scottish breakfast and freshly brewed coffees. Also had good options for lunch and its location near the Edinburgh Museum makes it a convenient stop while touring.

We visited here yesterday around 12ish yesterday it a small cafe but it goes back with a larger seating area. Helpful staff had large menu choices for breakfast, lunch snacks cakes and drinks ! Enjoyed Scottish breakfast pancakes all freshly made and very quickly too ! Well presented and good value ! Nice independent cafe which throughly support over chain cafes!

Worst experience ever! The manager is out of her mind trying to prove her rights even if she's wrong! Absolutely disgusting atmosphere. Her pretended so called politeness is as fake as her smile. No wonder staff changes there as scottish weather does.

Went here for breakfast whilst visiting Edinburgh. Absolutely amazing fresh home cooked food. My favourite breakfast of the trip. Also fantastic vegitarian options.

Cafeteria for super breakfasts! There are all types, from the classic Scottish and American ones, to the sweet ones, with various types of cakes. The cappuccino and coffee are also good. Advised.

A cosy place with good food (even fish dishes). Special thanks to the "Middle East" waiter who put a smile back on the face of an Parisian colleague 🫶🏻

A nice cafe, wasn’t too busy when we visited around 9am. We had a Full Scotch Breakfast and Eggs Benedict, with Hot Chocolate and Cappuccino. Everything was superb and the service was fairly quick. Only downside was the price, £42 for a breakfast, but expect nothing other in Edinburgh.

We already loved every place we visited in Edinburgh and fell in love with this city. However, when we sat down at this café to rest, we fell in love with it all over again. The two young Turkish staff members were extremely kind and attentive, promptly fulfilling all our requests. Because of this, if I return to Edinburgh, this will be one of the first places I visit. A perfect 10 out of 10, and the cake they recommended was absolutely delicious.

The typical place with low quality food at unfair prices with the confidence that the tourist is passing through and will not leave a review like I do now. Find out that very close there are many better alternatives. But the people were friendly and helped me charge my phone.

The restaurant is located on the Royal Mile and the staff is friendly and friendly. The meals are portion-sized and taste good. At the same time, there are the common options of [Fish and Chips] and [Scottish Breakfast], which are very suitable for you to come in and enjoy delicious food after you are tired of shopping, and taste local meals at the same time.

Disappointing experience. I don't understand the good reviews, the food wasn't tasty nor good, it was okay but it didn't feel like actual restaurant food. Maybe it depends on the dishes? Many other places here for scrumptious and homemade food.I went here because there was too much queuing for the Edinburgh larder, but I will wait for the larder next time. On a better note, the staff was great! Very lovely, professional and kind. Amazing service.

Cooked breakfast passable but over priced, option for a small fry would be nice. Staff friendly but completely messed up order so had to wait again. Ambience meh. Toasted sourdough was more like huge lump of sourdough with slightly burnt edges

Been here a few times for breakfast and can’t fault it! From the staff to the food it’s the whole package! In fact we are sat here now waiting for scrambled eggs and bacon, American style!

The manager is an absolute monster. She was extremely rude, mean, and inappropriate. I nearly cried she made me feel so awful. Reply: thank you for your reply. I assure you my review is not fake. I was there on the morning of August 4th. The incident had to do with the fire alarm. The manager accused my family of tampering with and breaking the fire alarm and was extremely rude. After telling me off she walked away leaving me speechless. You will see from the camera footage that nothing was done intentionally to break your fire alarm.

There is a very large gluten-free menu here. The food was very tasty and varied. We can highly recommend the café for people with celiac disease. The staff is trained and very friendly to their guests. Thank you very much for that.

We always have breakfast here now when we’re in Edinburgh, it’s first class. The coffee is excellent, bacon & eggs etc all good. Full Scottish breakfast first class.

We stopped twice to eat the Roasted Chicken Salad.

This is a nice little spot on the Royal Mile. We just got a couple cocktails and dessert. The Queen Victoria cake was rich and Pecan Coconut Brownie was very flavorful. The staff was friendly and attentive.

A nice place to eat Scottish breakfast, lunch or some pastries. If you don't like early mornings its the perfect place for you since they serve breakfast all day long. The serving staff is helpful and joyful without being intrusive. The interior is pleasant and comfy and they also have some seats outside.

Very friendly staff and very cozy.

We have been asking if they made cuts because throughout the city coffee is a bowl of liquid that has no flavor and they have very kindly invited us to sit down and they have made us the closest thing to a cut. Totally grateful. Quick to serve us, they accompany it with a jug of cold water and the place is very nice and quiet. The desserts look very good. We ordered a browni and it was delicious. All for just over £7. Totally recommended

Visited twice in 2 days. First had eggs rabbie. Very well prepared but a little rich for my tastes. Visit 2 had a square sausage and cheddar sandwich and a scottish tablet milkshake. Both were good, but not 5-star good.

Good lunch today at the Cafe Edinburgh. Fully loaded Dirty chips with bacon and cheese were hot and tasty. My family liked their panini sandwiches. Service was very fast which was great because we were almost late for a tour.

Coffee!! Nice strong full flavoured coffees (Americano with hot milk and flat white, skinny milk, extra hot). Us Kiwis love our coffee. It has been difficult to find nice coffees. Tried the haggis unfortunately not for us. Full breakfast. Of course meals are very different to NZ but my partner was happy with his breakfast. Decent serving and crispy bacon. Staff are helpful and friendly. Quick service. We went on an extremely busy day (Monday after Taylor Swift had performed) and there were people everywhere.

The Waffle looked amazing. The fruit was nice but the Waffle was so overcooked that it was hard to cut, even with a knife. My wife liked her French toast ok. The cappuccinos were average. Our waitress was very pleasant.

If you must eat breakfast, go for it, but I'm not sure about the taste as it tastes like just heated food, which is typical of England, but the service is good👍🏻

Staff is friendly and attentive. Food is fresh and tasty. Great mushy peas, crispy chips, excellent tartar sauce and fantastic fish. If you need a bite on the Royal Mile, it's got open tables and something tasty to eat. The host LITERALLY walked across the street and bought me an umbrella when I asked where to get one. Fantastic restaurant.

Generous portion sizes and simple delicious food! We visited for both breakfast and lunch and both times this place did not disappoint. My favorite is cranachan but it runs out rather quickly, so be sure to order it early. It’s creamy, tangy and not too sweet. Scottish breakfast was huge and filled us up for the whole day. Servers were super nice and attentive. Would visit again and again.

My boyfriend and I had breakfast here, and it was by far the best breakfast I've had in Edinburgh. We chose eggs Florentine, cheese abd beans and the forest fruit smoothie. We also asked if they could do a plain strawberry milkshake or smoothie, and they came out with the most amazing off the menu item. Had the loveliest afternoon treat here today. Honestly one of the best plates of French toast I’ve ever had. Tony who served me outside was so kind and was an absolute delight and I’d 100% recommend Cafe Edinburgh to anyone. Thank you for such a scrumptious afternoon!

It just started raining, so we went to Cafe Edinburgh. It was a very good decision. The place has a wonderful atmosphere, created both by the decor and the service. I tried the traditional Scottish haddock soup (cullen skink) and it was excellent. We also really enjoyed the fish and chips.

Great place to eat while strolling through Royal Mile. The staff were great, very friendly and helpful. Even though we were bigger party with kids, they accommodated us with a smile. Service we received exceeded our expectations. Food was great, portions were really big and fairly priced (especially in that location). The staff made sure we had everything we need, they also made sure our kids stayed entertained with books and toys. Highly recommended!
