They moved in to serve meals at Elderslie Golf Club but not up to the standards of previous catering company's. Not been in the clubhouse for over three months but have no intentions of eating there again.

What an absolute hidden gem. Four of us for breakfast and coffee.. the service was very attentive and friendly, the breakfast menu consisted of some classics and some clever adaptations of those classics. I had the Eggs Johnstone which was delicious the others had french toast and pancakes which they said were also fantastic. The cappuccinos weren't the best I've had.. but to small an issue to mark down an otherwise faultless breakfast. We will definitely be back and I highly recommend anyone reading this give it a try.

Nice place for breakfast. Good coffee and large menu selection offering egg dishes, French toast / pancakes and full breakfasts. French toast and banana was nice, tho would have preferred to know the banana was deep fried and mushy and not fresh banana as I'd thought.

Two of us went in for brunch and ordered coffees, a "brownie" and a portion of pancakes. The coffees had both been consumed BEFORE the food arrived (roughly 25 minutes). The brownie was not pleasant at all and the pancakes were an eggy mess. My partner thought that they had forgot to add the flour and were merely sweet omelettes, Really disappointed, we won't eat here again.

Have been going here for years but feel it has been going downhill a bit recently. Today put me off completely. Ordered eggs Johnstone and when it arrived veggie sausage was burnt and eggs were extremely undercooked. I sent it back and asked specifically for eggs NOT to be runny. Same thing happened again. Ended up with just coffee. Extremely poor, they have a new chef I think, who needs to learn how to poach an egg.

Had time to kill before a meeting and popped into Papamacs in Johnstone. They couldn’t take card payment so I ordered something I could afford. I ordered their gnocchi with salmon (can’t remember the name of the dish) and it was tremendous! I’ve never had square gnocchi before but loved the flavour and the white sauce with tiny pickled cocktail onions was fab sitting on delicate salmon. I’ll be back.

Went for a birthday brunch after hearing so many good things about the place. The place was absolutely freezing, had to ask if the heating could be turned up, which the waitress did do but hadn’t had a chance to heat up by the time we left. Most of us had the big breakfast stack ( not that big ! ) the tomato compote turned out to be lukewarm tomatoes and the poached eggs were stoating, the rest of it was fine, although would have preferred the toast on the side, with butter as it was all soggy with everything dumped on it. The waitresses were attentive and polite. Overall a bit pricey for what we had.

We have been meaning to go here for ages but never got round to it. However a gift voucher decided for us. The young lady who greeted us was so nice and when we requested tea instead of coffee it was not a problem. My husband got more coffee and I had a lovely iced bottle of water. The selection on the cakestand was delicious. Lovely choice of sandwiches, warm scones with jam and cream and great choice of cakes. I was just looking at the cakes still on the plate , regretting the fact that I could not possibly eat one more morsel when the young lady came over to us to ask if we were finished and would she box the rest of the cakes for us.! Then when we were leaving my husband how much we owed for the extra coffee and bottled water she said nothing! The [place was spotless and what I could see on the other customers plates everything was delicious. We will certainly be back and soon to taste the meals they have on offer.

Having seen this place get good reviews I took the better half with me at 7:30pm on a Saturday night. When we arrived I was a little concerned that it was us two other couples only. The menu is a large list of tapas styled portions from which you can choose as few or as many as you like. I chose 4 and the good lady 3. All of the food was delishious. I finished of with a fantastic take on sticky toffee pudding and the happy lady a fab carrot cake. The reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is that the food arrived on cold plates (one of my biggest bug bears) so some of the dishes were cold by the time we got to them. This was not helped by all of our dishes arriving at the same time - possibly because the place was quiet. We will be back to try more from the menu... hopefully on warm plates.

Have been several times to papamacs but on this occasion was extremely disappointed with the service and food. Had ordered a cafe latte which was brought in a small mug and didn't taste like a latte. When I asked if I had been given the wrong order the server then progressed to give me a lecture. Apparently, due to health and safety, lattes are now been served in mugs, even though one of the other customers had a glass cup. She then went into advise that the lady with the glass cup was a regular and was entitled to it. If I wanted a glass cup, I would require to request it!! And all because I asked if my order was wrong! I had also ordered a tomato omelette, which appeared as a plain omelette folded over with cold whole tomatoes placed underneath, but I wasn't going to complain about that. Not a good experience.

I hadn't read any reviews of Papamacs before my meal, as I visited with my best friend, who spoke highly of it, so we decided to give it a go.We came on a Tuesday (around midday) for brunch and were pleased to see they offer an all-day breakfast, as well as a lunch menu. We decided to order their breakfast stack for myself and Eggs Arbroath for my friend. In my breakfast stack, the poached eggs were perfect, the black pudding was wonderful (and was served in a nice, thick slice, too) and the potato scone was out of this world. Honestly...I didn't know there was such a thing as the perfect potato scone, and that's coming from someone who loves her potato scones! Even the cherry tomatoes were cooked to perfection.Having not eaten since 3pm the previous day, my friend and I were VERY hungry and, before our visit, we had already decided to get cake after our brunch. My friend had a raspberry and white chocolate slice, and I had a slice of orange and poppy seed cake; both of which were absolutely divine. If I'm being honest, the breakfasts were satisfying enough that we were just being indulgent by having cake afterwards, but that's what girlie brunches with a friend you haven't seen in a while are for, right? Great company, great food, and talking ten to the dozen in a lovely, friendly eaterie...Papamacs offers great food (with a good selection of gluten-free options, too), free wireless internet access for customers, service with a smile...oh, and their decaf coffee is pretty darn good, too (which shouldn't be a rarity these days, but it is. I'm glad to see Papamacs have perfected this).Although I'm from Edinburgh, and was only through here visiting my friend, I certainly look forward to visiting Papamacs again on my next jaunt through. After reading a few of the less-than-perfect reviews here on Trip Advisor, I'm left wondering if I ate in the same establishment as some of these reviewers, as my experience was nothing but wonderful.I highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast/brunch/lunch, and look forward to visiting again in the future for dinner, too.

Tucked away in Johnstone we had heard a lot of good things about this unassuming café/bistro/restaurant and opted for the 3 course Sunday market menu which can only be booked online. Arriving at 5 pm, the place was empty but soon began filling up. At £14.95 a head, the market menu consisted of 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 desserts. We opted for the haddock chowder and cured trout to kick us off , followed by cod and wild boar with colcannon. All dishes were beautifully presented and an absolute delight for the taste buds. To finish my daughter opted for the brandy pave which she thoroughly enjoyed and for myself- the Echelfechan cake which was described by the server as akin to a clootie dumpling in shortcrust pastry. Unfortunately I wasn't a big fan - it may have helped it if had been served warm.. Anyhow a very nice dining experience overall and will return.

When they were brought to the table I asked her if mine was a skinny and she said yes, when I then stated that I had seen her use the same milk for both coffees she advised me that is correct, skinny is the green milk top. I advised her that skinny came usually in red cartons she advised me that the green cartons was the only one they have. So not only are they not serving skinny coffees but when asked for them u are actually getting semi skimmed. Plus the assistant did not know the difference. Not very good for a "coffee shop"

Been a couple of times before for evening meals and this time tried the lunch/breakfast menu. We were not let down as the food was as delicious as previous visits. I had the steak sandwich and the girls had eggs benedict(with black pudding). All of which were excellent as was the customer service and value for money. Will definitely be back.A jewel in Johnstones crown.

Visited with my partner for a coffee on saturday at 4 pm, on arrival the vacant table for 2 was filthy,so we sat at a table for 4,immediately the waitress appeared,no hello,no smile just "if there are only 2 of you then you can sit here, I pointed out we would have sat there if the table had been clean ,her reply all the tables are needing cleaned, we're busy!!! We moved to the table for 2 and we ordered coffees. After us being moved and being spoken to in a derogatory manner, another couple came in (2 young guys) she sat them at the table of 4 which we weren't allowed to sit at,so made us wonder what all the fuss was about and why she felt it was acceptable to talk to us the way she did! I left a comment regarding this on their Facebook page and it was deleted,I am a regular customer here, but will not be returning after this whole episode, serious lack of customer service, maybe it was a bad day for her,but papamacs have a word with this surly waitress before she less you more business

Nice friendly welcome and good service throughout . This visit was for lunch and choice on menu was great -all day breakfast /sandwiches / wraps etc with great choices of fillings / 2 soup choices /burgers /main meals all reasonably priced and attention to detail in presentation was commendable . Tables can't be reserved at lunchtime but bookings taken for evening meals . This bistro came highly recommended by a friend and we weren't disappointed . Looking forward already to a return visit .

We visited this restaurant for dinner, it being recommended by our son and were not disappointed, the food was very tasty and well presented, the service was efficient, friendly and attentive to our requirements, overall a very pleasant experience and would recommend visiting to try it out, we enjoyed it, the only slight downside for me is that the don't have any draught beer, but the bottle beer on offer was very good.

It is run by volunteers helping to raise money for the church. It could be called a hidden gem as not that many people know about it, with a wide selection to choose from it is very good value for money.

Picked up a takeaway from the indian restaurant Shaan. The starters (veg pakora, chicken pakora) were nice and so we're the poppadoms and spiced onions. However we were disappointed by our curries, we ordered 2 curries, a chicken madras and paneer but both were very bland and unfortunately wouldn't buy them again
