Auténtica comida escocesa y tradicional en un ambiente agradable y vistas impresionantes. Servicio anticuado, una delicia. De cerca y personal con Sir Walter Scott!
I have read all the hype about this place and honestly it was amazing we had the 3 cheese and pickle and a mac n cheese with bacon toastie both were amazing and really nice staff and fast service a five star establishment
We went to the Prestonpans shop today for a few baguettes before we started wrapping christmas presents. We always buy BLT baguettes and a Mexican burger or similar and a few scones. Apparently they don’t sell hot food anymore or so we were told and we ended up with cold bacon strips. It was disgusting. Never thought I’d say this about the filling station as I’ve always gave it as a recommendation and held it in high regard in the past. I cooked my own bacon to put on the baguettes in the end but at £4.80 a time I was rather disappointed. No scones left but I could accept that. I am not sure of the reasons for the no hot food thing, is it to do with a licence or what? Just doesn’t have the same feel to it either. Maybe it’s changed hands? Anyway, we are from further up the country and sadly we won’t make the trip again.
Don't normally do reviews, and only stopped for a quick coffee and bacon roll, but felt this place really deserves an excellent review. Rare to find a place that does such a decent coffee (cappuccino done properly, in a sensible sized cup not a Costa bucket), the staff were lovely - all of them - and there was a nice stove in the corner on a bitterly cold January morning. Never stopped off here before on an A68 run - will make a habit of it now.
Visited on Xmas day for their set menu and it was delicious. Service was a bit slow but that was understandable as it was very busy. On the whole they did a fabulous job and would recommend to save the hassle of having to do the Xmas dinner cook and clean up.

Only order the pizza but it's always tasty and prepared quickly (more vegetarian options would be great). The staff are really friendly and it's nice and clean. My only feedback is that I wish you could add extras to the pizzas via the app.
Excelente comida! Hospitalidad y servicio de primera categoría. Selección variada de elementos en el menú. El interior está bien decorado. Plato que recomendaría por encima de todo es el Dahl Makhani.
Old Pines, Spean Bridge was a charming, quiet retreat. On arrival, a pygmy goat basked in the sun on top of a picnic table, outside of the dining room. Wandering goats and geese provided comic elements. A spectacular view of Ben Nivis and the surrounding moors filled the floor to ceiling dining windows. 5 course dinners, generous Scottish breakfasts and comfy beds provided the perfect decompression from a hectic schedule. Across the lane and over the style, a walk through the moors offered surprises with wandering sheep, lively river waters and an unexpected view of an old stone viaduct destroyed in the clearance disputes. Emerging near Spean Bridge village we walked to the Commando Memorial and looped back on the moor trail to the Old Pines. A lovely, slow paced retreat.
We stayed there for one night. Very cost with goats and geese.
There was only a 5 course menu for 60. But very good, and worth the price.
The owner was very kind, and transported us back to the great Glen Way.
We would go there again.
Visited here last weekend when we were up
Staying at Golf View we came here because last time we were in Nairn we came across Jackis n had a lovely wee afternoon all cosy by the fire! This time it was no different the pub was a bit busier but service was great and bar staff are lovely and friendly we will defo be back in Nairn and defo be visiting Jackos! Thank you for the hospitality
Pop in for breakfast one Scottish and one plant based. Was spot on and friendly staff. Good quality food and nice coffee. Plenty of parking making it easy to stop. Good value
Small starter portions, I had Chicken Milanese for main and the chicken was nice but the sauce on the pasta was god dam awful. Tasted like tinned tomatoes and nothing else. Total waste of money, especially as I was told before hand the 2 for £16 menu was on and then told when I was there it was not so it was £16 for my main on its own. Staff seemed quite short tempered too. Don't think I will be visiting again.
