The Loveable Rogue in Glasgow City

Really loved the food, AMAZING STAFF. Even the vegan option was good! Shame there wasn't a vegan dessert option to go with but they accommodated for us all wonderfully. The music is delightfully eclectic and the vibe is warm and relaxed. The lighting dimmed as the night went on which was appreciated as the overhead lighting was a bit stark when turned up. The chair height to table height ratio on tables near the bar may need to be looked at which sounds weird but when you're eating it makes complete sense as the plates are nearly at eye level. All in all, we loved the experience and would definitely rate this place high for a good wholesome Sunday roast.

The food was amazing as usual, high quality ingredients and very tasty. We were sad to find out that Carly had left, a big loss to the restaurant, we will miss her.

Would not recommend visiting here on the Itison deal for six side dishes for two. The portions were extremely small. We had two vouchers for four adults and ordered two extra dishes as there were two children in our group. The food was as tasty as ever but the size of some of the dishes was a joke. We were finished in an hour (they clearly wanted the table back quickly) and we all came home and made something else to eat. Very disappointing this time.

This place has been on my list forever after seeing lots of amazing reviews. The Loveable Rogue West End did not disappoint. We had a gig at The Stand on Saturday so this was the prefect opportunity to visit as its just a few minutes walk away. We were greeted by the lovely Gary who made us feel so welcome. With it being our first visit Gary took us through the menu. I just wanted everything 🤣 Service was impeccable nothing felt rushed. Everyone was attentive regardless of it being busy. Decor fresh, fitting and relaxing. Loved the open kitchen too. If you are a foodie you really need to visit. What a talented bunch of chefs in that kitchen! Hummus and the refreshing little pips of pomegranate was so smooth and moreish. My fave was the scallops genuinely just melted in the mouth probably some of the best I've had. It felt like fine dining quality without the fuss. This was the a la carte menu due to our visiting time but check out the website for other options. 100% worth a visit. We can't wait to go back!

What an amazing Sunday roast. Every item in the board was cooked to perfection and nothing too much trouble for the staff! Only comment I could make was the food could have been slightly hotter but not a complaint cause everything was beautiful! Thank you again for a lovely Sunday meal!

Booked our table for 8pm. Arrived at 7.55 to be told our table would not be ready until 8.15 and advised there was a nice pub across the road for a pre-dinner drink. I wish we had stayed there. Arrived back at 8.20 and were seated by 8.25. At 8.55 our food order was taken, and at 9.25 our food started to arrive. Remember we had booked our table for 8pm. And I mean it started to arrive... but not all at once... a full hour and a half after the time we had originally booked. At a family celebration, it is always nice to eat at the same time. Not too demanding of a kitchen. Is it? I had ordered the Lobster and Crayfish Rarebit, what I got was a burnt black - and I do mean charcoal black - slice of sourdough, topped with a slightly fishy tasting mess of some sort, that for added burnt or visual effect had been blowtorched black. Lovely. Not bad for 20 quid. The topping, if that is what one could generously call it, was at best tepid underneath. Disgusting really. It was sent back immediately. The rest of the food arrived piecemeal in terms of timing, interspersed with panicked shouts of 'who ordered the Lobster Mac n Cheese?' No one actually. Every other dish was either cold or just dismissively thrown together with no passion or care. This is a restaurant that is clearly run by another bunch of Glasgow hipsters who think they know how to run a busy restaurant. Maybe they watched The Bear. If they took a short walk along Great Western Road to Brett, they would see and taste how it really should be done. Or over to Unalome to see the genuine talent and skill and enthusiasm for the business that earns you a Michelin star. Shameful to the industry on every level. Rogue just about sums this place up.

Came to the lovable rogue for their famous sunday roast menu with my wife, and it did not disappoint! Opted for hot smoked salmon to start and the roast for main, which was perfect washed down with a glass of red wine and then had a beautiful sticky toffee pudding and ice cream to finish. Great service, lovely ambience about the restaurant, and in my opinion, great value for money. I look forward to my next visit.

Just had one of the best lunches I have had in a long time. We chose different dishes and shared and not one of them disappointed. Service was impeccable and food was timely, even though the restaurant was full. Would definitely recommend.

We got a call to say: A) they have a set menu B) it's meat only C) there are other restaurants nearby We won't be back. I get that it isn't compulsory to servr a veggie options, but it's still just a bit rubbish.

We received a voucher for the 6 course tasting menu from.our son and his wife for Christmas. Booked and went along last night. This was our first time at this restaurant for which we had heard very good reviews. It's on a very busy main road but parking outside is free after 4.30 pm. The restaurant was lovely and cosy and we were greeted at the door by a lovely lady who showed us to our table at the window and took our coats. The restaurant has a very welcoming and relaxed atmosphere and the menus were on the table for us to browse. We ordered an appetiser of 2 oysters each, additional to our set menu, with a glass of prosecco each. These were so fresh and tasted delicious. Our lovely friendly waitress came to make sure we were happy and then the courses began. Every single course was just incredible. Beautifully presented and the flavours of every component of the dish was delicious. It's always such a delight to have ingredients put together with imagination but flavour being the most important thing. The lamb dish was stunning with a jus that had the most incredible taste. I wanted to lick the plate clean! So, yes absolutely recommend this restaurant for food, atmosphere, ease of access, and amazing staff. We felt like very valued customers from the first moment tonthe last. We'll definitely be back.

We visited as a family for a Sunday lunch. The food was fantastic and the staff were lovely. It’s not the cheapest, but I’d still say it’s excellent value for money…… you definitely get what you pay for. Couldn’t fault the trip at all, we will definitely be back.

For a “Gastropub” this restaurant is a real treat. In the run up to Christmas they are offering a three course “Christmas” lunch, but don’t worry as turkey was absent from the menu today. Perfectly smooth chicken liver parfait with gingerbread (or a soup or veggie option) was a delicious starter. Three mains to choose from - pollock or again a vegetarian option or the superb beef we chose. That beef was generous, slow cooked and braised so it fell apart, tender and very tasty. The jus was light while the mash was creamy smooth with just enough horse radish to lift it to the sublime. Rice pudding placed with vanilla and topped with a sprinkling of a granola-like crumb and fruit: a real pudding. There is also their excellent a la carte as alternative to the lunch menu. Service on a busy day was, as usual, friendly, personable, helpful and never intrusive. A great atmosphere enhanced by the near open kitchen working with quiet efficiency. What a good lunch like the one we had two weeks ago.
