We did a three week trip through Scotland and this was one of the best Scottish restaurants we’ve been too. Can only recommend. Everything was delicious. We had oysters as a starter, both a main, dessert with coffee/tea and whisky. We had our big dog with us and they were very welcoming toward him and gave him water as well as treats.

On a recent trip to Scotland, we stopped in to this charming restaurant in Glasgow as we had heard about it from friends. They offer a lot of unique and artisan products from the Highlands and Ardnamurchan’s name comes from the forestland in the highlands. We decided to get their Haggis, Neeps and Tatties with Auchentoshan whisky cream and then oven-baked Caithness Lamb Stovies, which were like little cheese and lamb scones – delicious!!! Then we shared the smoked salmon and the Venison stew. Everything was out of this world. We shared a bottle of Lua Nova Vinho Verde, from Portugal. This wine was fresh, zesty and tasty. Definitely make reservations as this place was busy.

Not sure how this place has so many good reviews, especially in Scotland. To start with, we were "welcomed" by a man who clearly hated being there. No eye contact, not hospitable, acting like he is making us a favor to show us our table. That was so weird, especially for Glasgow where everywhere they are extremely welcoming. The girls serving though, were lovely ! Our expectations for the food after reading all the reviews was very high. My venison, was the worst I ever had. Super chewy, hard, could not even cut it with my knife. My salad was tiny, and flavourless, and my partner's choices were the same low quality (fish soup and stew). Such a pity, and so expensive for what it was especially comparing with all the other wonderful experiences we have every time we come here.. We did not even finish our dishes..

I am absolutely blown away by our experience at Ardnamurchan! From start to finish, everything was incredibly delicious, and the staff were exceptionally attentive and welcoming. The dishes arrived quickly, served piping hot—straight from the oven or the pan. Every bite was bursting with rich, deep flavors that truly showcase the best of Scottish cuisine. I was in complete awe of how well-prepared and flavorful everything was! The local Caledonian beer added a wonderful freshness and joy to the meal, perfectly complementing the food. We had the chance to try both local venison dishes and fresh Scottish seafood, which made our visit even more special. The variety and authenticity of flavors elevated our entire experience, making this meal a true highlight of our trip to Glasgow and Scotland in general. If you’re looking for a place to experience real, high-quality Scottish cuisine, Ardnamurchan is an absolute must-visit. I can’t recommend it enough!!!

The food is a total disappointment: the worst Haggis I have ever eaten, it has no flavor, where is the peppery taste of this traditional dish? Fortunately I didn’t discover Haggis with this restaurant 🥲 To ban from the restaurant, Langoustine, the product is not fresh, the flesh was floury, and to say that it is supposed to represent Scottish gastronomy... The worst being the person who seems to be the manager of the restaurant or the Manager, who behaved contemptuously towards my friend, I have rarely seen such an inappropriate facial expression towards a customer, I have no words at this level... The only star I give is the person at the bar who was very professional during the whole rush, well done to her

Amazingly delicious food. Will mushroom pate is out of this world!!! Venison.... gorgeous!!! Brunt Cheesecake to die for!!! Exceptional Service & Incredible Food! Ardnamurchan is truly one of Glasgow’s best restaurants! Jean-Marc Ducasse, the General Manager, and the female sommelier went above and beyond to accommodate us early, making the experience seamless. The wine selection was outstanding, and the venison and lamb shank were absolutely impeccable—cooked to perfection. Highly recommend visiting or reaching out to for a top-tier dining experience. Five stars all the way!

All good, apart from a member of staff forgetting to book the table. Fortunately there was space to accommodate us. Otherwise the outcome would have been quite different. Didn't make a fuss but had details on my phone of the time and date I made the booking, and a message to our niece to pass on the details. She was visiting all the way from Cheltenham. Hope all in the future goes well, as the food and ambience were good. I had eaten there 2 nights before with other people. Oops.

Very disappointed. Food was average, watery, bland Cullen skink with two small bits of smoked haddock. Tasteless haddock, stodgy chips. Staff unengaging, the young lady who served us was like a robot, no empathy, no chat. We won’t be back. Shame as this was a special birthday treat.

The staff is welcoming and offering ua great service. They are very attending and dishes are served in time. The cullen skink is good . The mussels is wonderful, smooth and fresh , cooked perfectly served delicious sauce. Well the lobster, I could not blame it , the lobster itself is not that good , meat is too , the sides are very good. Overall it is a very good dining experience and we enjoy the meal here!!

Incredibly tasty, great atmosphere and very nice service. If you want to experience Scottish cuisine away from the pubs, this is the place for you. We were here for lunch. 2 speed - about 15 pounds or 3 speed - about 24 pounds. There is always a free bottle of tap water included. The food is varied and not greasy at all. The great atmosphere is accompanied by Scottish music in the background.

I booked Ardnamurchan for a dinner with my out-of-town colleagues last week. We were impressed the Market Menu and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The stovies, venison stew, and the sticky toffee pudding were noted as highlights across the group. The restaurant’s atmosphere was stylish and welcoming, and the team took excellent care of us--no small feat, as we were a group of nearly 40! It was easy to make a reservation, and they helpfully answered my questions about the menu ahead of booking. I would recommend Ardnamurchan and look forward to eating there again.

70th birthday for my sister was arranged and owner Neil and manager Jean Marc made the event so very special! The whole experience was first class, all staff exceptionally friendly, attentive, helpful and pleasant. The dining experience was set in the beautiful more private area but still took in the ambience of this very busy restaurant. Food was delicious and very fairly priced. Again I thank Neil, Jean Marc and the team for making this occasion one to be remembered! Will be back

The restaurant food quality mainly is very very good and tasty. However I had an unfortunate event that the venison meat for the stew was nit tenderised at all... so it was hard to chew... I did raise it with the staff as a suggestion to tenderdise it.. I did not know but when the bill arrived.. they took off this plate from the bill which was nice... (unfortunately there was another person in my table where the stake was very hard too...) hopefully they will tenderise the meet... otherwise be ready for it to be hard... Regarding atmosphere.. mmmhh the place is nice...but atmosphere... mot sure at all... The waiters/waitresses are really young but very very pleasant.... I went on Wednesday so they might have a uni students rota for those days...

Our first dinner in Scotland and we wanted something traditional. Ardnamurchan was perfect. We love being in the UK for the festive season and the restaurant was in full swing and bustling with celebration. The ambience is warm and inviting. The service was excellent. And yes, the haggis was delicious! The dark chocolate cremeux topped off an evening of delightful wining and dining!

I will never visit this restaurant again. EVER. We booked a table online and were told that we had the table for two and a half hours. After being seated we were basically ignored for over 15 minutes. I requested half a dozen oysters while perusing the menu. Two of them had been badly shucked with broken shell in them. No replacement, just a quick “sorry”. The starters and the wine were fine. Three out of four main courses went back because the mashed potatoes were stone cold. Relaxing after the meal with the wine we were asked several times if we were ready to leave or sit in the bar. We explained that we still had the table for another 35 minutes. After a few minutes a waitress told us that another group had arrived 25 minutes early, so they needed the table. Short of losing my temper, I told her this was nothing to do with us. I had no intention of leaving before I’d finished the wine. When we left there was no thanks or goodbye. I cannot believe service like this exists today in a main city.

Was taken for a Christmas meal by my granddaughter Courtney and her b/f Lewis, Lewis and myself had a starter ,we both had the Cullen Skink which was yummy, Courtney did not, she waited for the main meal which was the Market Seafood Stew which she enjoyed ,Lewis had the Pancette Wrapped Turkey Pauplette he enjoyed that and I had the Ardnamurchan Venison Pie most enjoyable, deserts were Courtney the Arran Dairies Raspberry Sorbet and myself had the Cranachan with Glayva Whiskey Liqueur which I devoured, Lewis didnt ,the drinks ,Courtney a French Martini , me a Italian beer and Lewis a cranberry juice all in all it was a lovely meal had by all ,really worth a visit 😀

For lunch while traveling in Scotland, find a random restaurant to eat at. I didn't make a reservation at that time but there were still seats available, which was really lucky. I ordered a three-course course that day and was very full. The mussels are delicious, and the scallops and shrimps are very fresh. For dessert that day, I ordered lemon tart with ice cream. If you don’t know what to order, you can choose the meals on the course menu. The restaurant environment is very clean, and the heating is also turned on at the beginning of November. It is very comfortable when you walk in. I recommend you to eat there.

Breskit potato fritters - in the picture Hand cut chips - decent size, right amount of salt and so tasty Haggis - so smooth and melt in your mouth (didn’t know it could taste so good??) Venison stew - best stew I’ve had in a long time Cabbage side - incredible flavours Sticky toffee pudding - the sauce and the little crumb bits really added to this and like a little flavour-gasm in your mouth Incredible scenes all around, we didn’t have a booking and didn’t think we’d have a chance to get a table but they were so lovely and managed to squeeze us in! We had lunch on a Sunday in May 2024. From what I observed, it is a restaurant frequented by Glasgow residents, without tourists. We tried the typical Scottish dish Ardnamurchan's Own Haggis, Neeps and Tatties with Auchentoshan whiskey cream (also available with vegetarian haggis/vegan option) (kids), I thought there would be less sauces. I'll preface this review by saying that our server wasn't a big fan of two young ladies, dressed in leggings/hiking gear, laughing their heads off during their whole meal. He could've been nicer but he wasn't and when his shift was done just before we were done with food, nobody bothered to tell us who our new server was going to be. So, the service could be better. It wasn't like we were making fun of him. The restaurant itself is nice, semi-upscale. We made a reservation just in case and I'm glad that we did. It was pretty packed for a Tues night. We ordered the black pudding fritters, the appetizer version of their Haggis, the pan seared fillet of cod, the Cullen skink and the cranachan for dessert. The black pudding fritters were excellent. They came with a marmalade and a salad which were very good too. The cod was delicious - melt in the mouth with a side of wonderfully warm and creamy lobster bisque, a crunchy potato mash and a finger licking scallop roe cream. The Cullen skink is the Scottish version of a clam chowder - this was less creamy than what clam chowders are like, but delicious all the same. The Haggis was ok. Nothing outright bad about it but I had better haggis in Edinburgh. I'm glad we took the appetizer size, not the entree size. The cranachan was lovely. I'm not a big fan of oats, but if you give them to me with raspberries, cream and liquer, I will eat the whole thing! The pricing is on the slightly expensive side. But overall, the food was good and we had a good time.

Must go if you want to try some authentic Scottish dishes! Food is 100marks no doubt, environment is clean and spacious - remember you MUST BOOK before you go! We have been rejected 3 times the other day when we tried to find somewhere for brunch - think you’ll starve to death if you don’t book in advance in Edinburgh! Huggis - better than what I expected, thought it’ll taste like black pudding as they have similar mechanisms but ended up really delicious, worth a try! Btw had my first try ever on venison and it turned out to be good 100% recommend but again BOOK IN ADVANCE!

The Ardnamurchan is still up there with the best, though this visit while still very good, some work needs to be done with staff training and internal IT systems. Our order for wine missed then charged twice on the bill, though rectified quickly when we indicated the mistake. We had Christmas lunch menu which was very good and to the restaurants usual high standard. My only comment would be this, I had the chicken with cauliflower dish. It should have an additional element such as a swede and potato mash or parsnip and potato mash to counteract the bitter taste from the seared cauliflower. Other than that our meal was excellent.

My friend and I had lunch today 29/11/2024 we ordered from the Market Menu she had the Venison Stew and she enjoyed it and it looked really nice. I had the Hispi Cabbage it was the worst plate of food that I have had in a restaurant we both had Cranachan it was small but very nice. So if you want to pay £19.95 for a lunch of a portion of cabbage and a wee Cranachan bon appetit.

Good value market menu and tasty food. Comfortable casual setting. Cocktail we tried was good. Cullen Skink was good. Maine’s could be better - e.g., chicken breast was slightly burnt to bitterness on the outside. Desserts were good - sticky toffee the standout, Cranachan really nice. Chocolate cremeaux was nice but maybe abit average and on the small side. This is a recommend if you’re in Glasgow.

My wife and I chose this restaurant to celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary, and overall, it was a lovely experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. Upon being seated, we were each offered a complimentary glass of bubbly to mark our anniversary—a thoughtful touch that we greatly appreciated. We started the evening with Old Fashioned cocktails. While they were enjoyable, they didn’t quite stand out. For starters, we shared half a dozen oysters, which were fresh and exactly as expected. I opted for the stovies, though I found them a little disappointing as the lamb was nearly undetectable, and the consistency was so watery I ended up requesting a spoon. My wife chose the langoustines, which were enjoyable but didn’t leave a lasting impression. For the main course, I ordered the coley, which was cooked to perfection. However, the grilled hispi cabbage served alongside it was far too firm—I struggled to cut through it with a knife, let alone enjoy it. On the other hand, my wife’s lamb shank was the highlight of the meal. It was tender and perfectly cooked, complemented beautifully by the oak-smoked mash and the rich black garlic emulsion. While there were a few aspects of the meal that could be improved, the overall experience was elevated by the outstanding service. A special mention goes to the General Manager, Jean-Marc Ducasse, and our server, Emma, whose attentiveness and professionalism truly made the evening memorable. All in all, we had a great night and would happily return. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this restaurant, especially for a special occasion.

All three of us went for cullen skink which was excellent. I then went for the chicken and mushroom pie, which came with mash rather than chips. My wife and friend went for the roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. The beef was so tough as to be inedible - they couldn’t cut even with the steak knives. The Yorkshire pudding was anything but a YP - it was small and very stodgy, probably not enough eggs if cooked fresh but more likely frozen, so need to change supplier. The 5 star mark for service is because of how our complaint was dealt with - beef dishes taken off the bill and complementary desserts. However both my wife and friend were hungry the rest of the evening. We will not go back.

My first time in Scotland, so I wanted to try traditional Scottish food. Choosing this restaurant was the right choice. I really wanted to try haggis, neeps & tatties, so I went with the vegetarian option, and it was fantastically delicious. The staff was very friendly, and a beautiful lady kindly helped me choose some Scottish dishes. It was the perfect place to introduce myself to Scottish cuisine. I'll definitely visit again if I'm ever back in Glasgow.

I arrived as a single diner with no reservation and the delightful Elda offered me a tall bar table which was ideal. The service was polite and very prompt. My rope mussels were large and fleshy in a delicious sauce and The Malbec was very drinkable. The lamb shank was sadly quite tough. This is a dish that should be slow cooked for at least 2 hours. This wasn't.

Had dinner late on a Friday. Got a booking around 9. Food was excellent, lamb vension as well as mussel starter and lamb hotpot. The wine was recommended by friendly (Latvian?) waitress who added to the experiance. Would 100% go again.

We made a reservation online and showed up at night. Waiter was incredibly rude, insisting that he didn't have the reservation despite a confirmation email. After finally seating us, he remained extremely rude, refused to show us the wine menu and eventually we decided to leave. It's a real shame, we were quite looking forward to dinner.

Honestly think we were served by nicest waiter ever. Smiley and warm service. The service was super fast and food and drinks came so fast and everything was lovely. Even our dessert didn’t disappoint. Would definitely recommend.
