Wow wow wow Stunning Sunday roast enjoyed by all of us very well presented and I cannot praise the staff enough looked after us extremely well helped with gluten free and another person with but allergy great portions and we were all full at the end will definitely be back next time in York highly recommend

Went in to have a couple drinks with some friends and just have a nice chill evening and playing a game of pool. The man with the glasses who I assume is the owner of the pub was extremely rude to my friends and I telling us we were disrespecting his pool table when really we knocked one of the balls off the table by accident which can happen. He told us that we’re being disrespectful and to have our drinks and get out swearing under his breath and being very very rude. It was our first and last time in there would not recommended to anyone as it was a horrible experience and he was very arrogant.

It was staffed front of house by a lovely young couple of people. Very efficient and professional. Food average. Atmosphere relaxed, full of locals having a good time

Tardamos 20 minutos en que nos pidieran una orden de bebidas, y entonces no tenían lo que había en el menú. La única dama que servía no hacía ningún esfuerzo a los clientes y se quedaba en la parte de atrás del mostrador cerca del chef toda la noche cuando no servía. Tardó 1 hora en llegar el motor de arranque, tiempo durante el cual 6 - 7 conductores de entrega entraron a recoger y fueron y enviados fuera, diciéndoles que sus pedidos no estaban listos. El chef fue bastante grosero y pude oírlo decir groserías desde la cocina. Literalmente, a un conductor se le dio una orden para que la recogiera, y al resto se le envió lejos... esto parecía muy extraño. Llegaron los entrantes y fueron muy sabrosos y sabrosos. 90 minutos después de entrar pedimos una segunda copa, pero ahora se habían quedado sin la alternativa al original que se habían quedado sin. Mala planificación de su lado. Una pareja se fue sin comprar después de sentarse 25 minutos sin tomar ninguna orden de bebidas, y estábamos a punto de salir cuando llegó nuestra red. Mi esposa es vegetariana y había pedido unas madras de verduras y nos pusimos a señalar a la camarera que era vegetariana. El chef le había hecho unas madras de pollo. No se ofrecieron disculpas, y ya habíamos tenido suficiente. Pagamos por nuestra 1 bebida y entrantes y nos fuimos. Planificación atroz, servicio al cliente terrible, stock de bebidas pobres, ¡Dios sabe si los clientes pobres alguna vez recibieron sus comidas para llevar! Es una pena porque la comida que habíamos probado muy bien. El chef claramente no puede hacer frente incluso a una noche moderadamente ocupada, y el personal de espera simplemente no le importa. EVITAR COMO LA PESTE

Best pub in York, but don't tell anyone

Unfortunately did not have a great experience here due to mistakes that could have been avoided, we booked a table for a work celebration there was about 20 of us, we preordered based off the menu online. I had preordered penne marinara from their online menu, as I am from England I understood that this was just a tomato pasta sauce, and there is nothing on their online menu to suggest marinara is seafood, however I received a penne pasta with tomato sauce and seafood. My sister is allergic to seafood and I don’t eat it to keep her safe. I told them I didn’t order seafood penne, he became angry and shouted at me that I did, I asked to see the menu when he showed me, that’s when we all realised their online menu is different to the one in the restaurant, he brought me a menu to say marinara is seafood, but this is not mentioned on the online menu we used when we preordered, and unfortunately being English and not being Italian, marinara in England is just tomato garlic sauce not seafood like it is in Italy, my fault for not knowing marinara means seafood in Italian but the manager or owner who was serving us just began shouting at me. A female waitress apologised and moved him away from me and brought me just a tomato penne pasta said sorry again and understood what had happened and fixed the issue without an issue, clearly a mistake on both parts. After I’d eaten it the angry manager came over and asked me how my seafood pasta was sarcastically. 3 or 4 of us preordered the online menu tomato garlic bread to start, and one of us ordered a tomato garlic bread for their main. But when it arrived in the restaurant it was a plain garlic pizza bread, as their menu in their restaurant is different to the one online and doesn’t include tomato. Also despite pre ordering two of the starters were missing and had to be chased up 10 mins or so after we had all eaten our starters and the same happened again for our mains, two were missing and a side of chips which we had to chase up. We spent about £582 and just didn’t feel we had a good experience despite pre ordering and we even brought our pre order on a document with us to make sure we were organised when we got there. Food was excellent however and we had a good time. Just a shame to be shouted at in a restaurant by the manager at what clearly was a genuine mistake, as I don’t speak Italian.

We went into Forest for a rather small lunch since we weren’t too hungry to begin with. We decided to go here because of its cozy and unique decor and interior. The food tastes top notch and the environment is bustling and comfortable. Some servers had an attitude, but perhaps that’s due to it being the weekend. Anyway, food was great and the experience was generally quite good.

Really delicious food. Tons of gluten free and vegan options. Super friendly service. 100% recommend. We came here for a late lunch / early dinner on a whim (not from the area) and it was some of the best Vietnamese food we've had in the UK.

Buen menú para un día húmedo en febrero. Teníamos el jamón, huevos y patatas fritas, la pila de ensalada era tan grande como la pila de patatas fritas - en el buen sentido. Huevos perfectos y rebanadas gruesas de jamón. Buena obra de arte decorando las paredes. Bien situado justo fuera de las murallas de la ciudad.

What a fantastic independent venue. The Reuben was good, the coffee great quality and the staff super friendly. Exactly what British business should be.

Excelente servicio fantástico absolutamente increíble pescado y patatas fritas cocinado en pura carne de vaca que gotea que es pura carne que gotea, el pescado era enorme? Increíble servicio mmmmm nuestra camarera era tan alegre e interactivo a pesar de estar muy ocupado sirviendo a todos aquí! ¡Deff recomiendo! Los precios son buenos para la cantidad de comida servida, ¡deberíamos traer al gran Dan aquí desde mi comida! ¡Estaría bien chuffed!

Yo y un amigo visitamos un viernes a la hora del almuerzo, había un menú de dos platos por £ 9. 90 con un montón de opciones. El servicio era muy bueno y rápido, pedimos bebidas y nuestra comida. Ambos optamos por las costillas de repuesto para empezar que pronto llegaron y estaban sabrosas y calientes. Para la alimentación mi amigo tenía carne de res en frijol negro con arroz frito con huevo y pedí el curry de res con arroz frito con huevo. La comida vino caliente y el camarero trajo un gran recipiente de arroz, todo estaba caliente y sabroso y una porción generosa. Ambos disfrutamos mucho de nuestro almuerzo y recomendaríamos una visita, realmente no había ningún ambiente con que fuera una hora de almuerzo, pero disfrutamos de poder charlar.

We went to Molly's Tearooms for lunch one Saturday. York was packed and it was a bit hard to find because of all the people milling about, but we were glad we made the effort. We decided on jacket potatoes with creamed mushrooms and the lady apologised and said they only had one potato left, but offered us the mushrooms with toast instead. She said the mushrooms came in a separate dish so the toast wouldn’t get soggy. Our meal arrived very quickly and we shared the toast and potato. The mushrooms were absolutely delicious and plenty of them. Very pleasant staff and a lovely little tearoom. We recommended the place to our next-door neighbours who went two days ago and they also thought it was great. We’ll be back!

Nos topamos con este lugar mientras tratábamos de evitar las cafeterías de cadena. Mi marido tenía un pan corto de chocolate y un blanco plano. Solo tomé un café con leche descafeinado pero fue el mejor que probé y se lo hice saber. El servicio era brillante y el personal era amable. Los precios eran razonables. Pensé que la decoración era encantadora y peculiar. Planeamos visitar de nuevo antes del final de nuestro breve descanso.
