Went with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday. Was Told by the Bouncer that I was too drunk and that he wouldn't let me in. I was not drunk as I don't and can't drink due health reasons. I told him this, and he pushed and still said I wasn't coming in! I did notice that, just before me, there was one very drunk lady, who was all over the place. She was let in. Anyway as I was waiting for my friends to come out, I noticed a trend, anyone that looks or is obviously Gay was NOT let in

Went for some nice cocktails tonight with my friends. Georgia and Ossie took good take of us. The midori sours are definitely worth it (2 for 1!) Thanks to Anna. Shisha was on point👌

Best place in York, service is great, always attentive even on the weekend. Staff are amazing will always make cocktails ‘off’ menu. Can’t compliment them enough!

Bobos was a great night out, myself and quite a few friends came in on our night out. We were welcomed by lovely members of staff, especially George the bartender who made an amazing ‘Zombie’ cocktail. We also indulged in the 2 for 12 cocktails which were great value for money as a student myself.

I’ve been to many shisha bars over my time….this is awful. The shisha has zero flavour, from my experience this is due to uneducated people incorrectly packing my shisha. Waste of time and £20, I smoked water vapour for 5 minutes then left.

Called for a drink on Saturday went to the ladies open the door went flying step right next to door so dangerous legs and arms killing me arm got bruises very dangerous be careful if you go in

Here for a friend's 18th and had an amazing night. Drinks were very good and affordable compared to other places in the city. Staff were amazing, nice and we and some nice chats. Service was that good we came back the next day and we will definitely be back in the future.

I walked downstairs with my messy bun. Harry styles was making out with my friend Holly. Louis Tomlinson approached, vigorously gyrated towards me. He implied and bellowed " Holly and Harry you're making out too loudly, SHHHH!" Holly, looking up from Harry's lips, whispered "Arthur, you're for sale to One Direction". Louis and Harry hit the dab in jubilation, 'Yipee! She'll do" They wrapped Arthur up like a moth ready to turn into butterfly, like a silkworm about to be boiled and turned into silk. And they bundled her out the door and rolled him, into the back of their tour bus. Food was great !

Decent cocktail menu at reasonable prices. Before 6pm on Sat they have 2 for £12 offer. The watermelon margaritas were fab.

The shisha is not prepared correctly, it tastes burnt and very harsh, when we spoke to a staff member about this, they didn’t have a clue. Staff as a whole are rude, the 2 for 1 cocktails would be great, that’s if they didn’t taste like watered down juice. Don’t bother visiting!

Revisited during December 2023. Still as bad as ever. The bar staff and doormen were more pleasant this visit, but the manager was highly volatile and inflammatory when engaging with me. Wont be visiting again and my advise is to avoid this bar. Plenty of other nice places to visit Door men who discriminate. Used to occasionally visit this place for staff parties, birthdays etc and enjoyed. My last two experiences involved being asked to leave on one occasion (no reason supplied) and then being refused entry for a 30th birthday five months later. So my advice is to avoid or be mindful of that draconian way they conduct business and that you may be asked to leave arbitrarily.

Got diluted cocktails, 2 for £12 so not bad, but nothing great. Paid in cash for table service only and took 30 minutes to get change back after repeatedly asking and ended up having to stand at the bar to get the rest of the money which is a bit odd..but not the end of the world. overall nothing bad just other places doing it better for the same price. Would still return as I like the outside area and the people are friendly.

Worst cocktails. Ordered an espresso martini and was served something that looks like dishwater for £10! Server refused to re-make, re-order or refund and said this is what an espresso martini should look like. He also said he was the manager so there was no one else to resolve the situation, so I was £10 down and left with this undrinkable attempt at a cocktail. Also made someone else in our group’s spirit and mixer with the wrong mixer, he did re-make that with the correct mixer but made a big point about it, as if he was going above and beyond by doing that. Tip - Kennedy’s is a few bars up the street, the cocktails are nicer and cheaper

I have been here before and had such a good time. This time was very different. I was refused entry because I was on my own. I have never experienced this in my life and I used to work door security in nightclubs in Newcastle. I understand the logic but discrimination is not something I take lightly. However I have to spoken to the manager in bobos and I can completely understand with their policy if it prevents things happening. I was allowed in the following day on my own (daytime) and having a great time. Thank you

terrible shisha experience. The bar tenders and waiters are super super pushy, asking if you want a drink every 2 minutes (not exaggerating) and then snatching your drinks away half full when you do have a drink? Terrible vibe and I felt like we were being forced to buy stuff the whole time we were there even though we were paying customers who paid for Shisha and a few drinks. I wouldn’t recommend.

With very little else that we knew in the area open, we stumbled into this bar and were pleasantly surprised. The cocktails were just ok but the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, which makes all the difference in my opinion. A nice atmosphere and very friendly prices. We would be back again.

Cocktails are okay, with some fun novelty ones, and they have the standard kind of deals for York on weekdays (the cocktails are incredibly expensive otherwise, as are the fun novelty ones which aren't part of any deal). There's an open rooftop section with heaters, which is nice enough, though it overlooks back alleys with bins, and that's all the view you're getting. Been several times but was turned away today, I suspect the hottest day of summer so far, for my casual shorts. This place's casual, mid-brow vibe does not justify that kind of dress code enforcement at all. I'm a bit curious now looking at other reviews talking about discrimination at the door, and I tend to think weird, arbitrary dress codes go hand-in-hand with that.

Went into this bar last night on a rare night in town with a few friends. We had been in about an hour when staff told me I had to leave because a woman in the bar had complained I had been staring at her. No ambiguity, this did not happen. We were a self-contained group, sat by ourselves and sober, simply talking amongst ourselves. I'm sure the bar's CCTV footage will bear this out when it is reviewed. I was completely and utterly shocked and left without issue. Having slept on it though I believe further action is appropriate because I have been left utterly embarrassed and ashamed with absolutely no justification. The doorman on duty was incredibly rude and bolshy. I hope he was wearing a body cam so I can review the incident. The bar staff, to their credit, seemed embarrassed to be asking me to leave. I'm a middle aged man who goes out incredibly rarely nowadays. After this incident I shouldn't imagine I will bother again. The hospitality trade is dying and until last night I thought this was a real shame. Now I'm not so sure.

When the bouncer trys to snap your ID you know a place is a dive, wouldnt dare spend a voucher here let alone my hard earned cash, boycott this place till they can sort out their bouncers. Like I understand you have a job to do, but if you had either scanned my QR code on my ID or just taken a UV light to it to double check you'd have seen it's a legal ID that is ENDORSED by the same people who gave you your badge.

Don't go to this so called cocktail bar if you really appreciate good cocktails. They're basically serving sugar with alcohol in nice glasses. It looks good though, I guess it would make nice selfies (for those who care about it).
