The best restaurants in York Yorkshire and The Humber

My wife and I had a lovely tapas lunch here today. Everything was excellent. Would particularly recommend trying the sherry “flights”, which allow tasting of 3 different sherries. We also had dessert and the basque cheesecake was delightful. We had quite a few sherries and tea/coffee afterwards.

Dessert was lovely, as was the mocha. Board games are really fun to play whilst waiting or eating. Staff are amazing, they kindly let us order just as they were closing and let us eat in! Definitely recommend.

Went into York the last weekend and decided to eat at the ‘cut and craft.’ Ordered a Strawberry Mojito which was stunning and a chicken burger with chips it was incredible. Both me and my boyfriend ate every last bit. It was very expensive but our meals were worth it! 😋

Nice setting, food wasn’t too bad. The Sugo for the pescatora wasn’t the greatest imo. Service was good, maybe a bit intense when asking questions but could just be new staff. House beer tasted okay would have preferred a Moretti to be honest. Could give some suggestions on a few things but I wouldn’t post them on here.

Visited as a group of 8 adults. Pre ordered the set menu. Just amazing, but far too many dishes. Very good value for money.

4th time here, food was lovely as always. Food was nice and hot on service, staff knowledgeable about dishes. Generous portions.

Good coffee! Really, only about the third time I've written that about a UK cafe. We had a couple of cakes too, and these were also above average. To all of other black dishwater servers (that claim to be cafes! ) take note. It can be done.

Long and narrow pub with a lot of character. A different selection of tap beers, real ales and craft beers available. Staff were friendly and polite. Camera discount also available. Nice oldy worldy pub with old style coloured tiles on the walls and great chandeliers. Beer was great. Enjoyed my visit.

Did takeout of Haddock and Chips while in York on a Friday night.. I cannot speak to the atmosphere but in my opinion, the fish was not very good and the portions small for what I am familiar with. There were lots of chips but not much fish.

its a really nice hotel i love the rooms theyre my favorite theres an outlet beside the bed on each side and there is a free bag of chips and biscuits everything is good though i did not have the breakfast

Very tasty Indian restaurant. All the dishes and sides were great and the prices were reasonable.

Even though we were a little late for our booking due to road closures the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. Food was great, staff were awesome and really friendly, cocktails were amazing! Will definitely come again next time we visit.

Derren hosted our Beer School booking and did a wonderful job talking us through the beers and business. They gave great answers to all our questions and were super friendly and engaging. Thank you!
