YUZU Street Food in York

The food was amazing and everyone was really friendly, already looking forward to our next visit. We also bought some beers from the shop, they were great!

We ordered on Uber eats for my mums birthday and wow! The food has so much flavour and portions were great. Finally a place that isn’t super unhealthy and has tasty food. 10/10

Ordered on the app - great tasting food with lots of flavour! We ordered the Chicken Katsu Udon, Tofu Katsu & Vegetable Gyoza. The dining area is full of people enjoying food and beers from the bar next door. Came to about £33 without a tip and without the beers so a special treat

Yuzu is our go to street food place and has been since starting to order during COVID. The food is delicious and always top notch, best Bao buns and chicken wings I think I've ever had. Great partner to Brew York for food and a drink. I would recommend eating in as some of the food can lose its heat during transport (still great though) The staff are always friendly and helpful to order from and have helped point out the gluten free options over the phone for my partner during what sounded like a busy service. Glad it's done so well and is now a permanent feature at the York site.

Flavourful and just the right amount of spice, nicely portioned sizes but very messy to eat! Informal and social atmosphere, would be a great start to a night out

The tonkatsu ramen with pork belly was very delicious, best noodle dish I've ever tasted, score a perfect 10 out of 10. The miso ramen was good (with pork belly). The gyoza was amazing (9/10), and the "duck on fries" too. It was packed, we went to the "downstairs" area, where the brewery is. Got food in 15 mins, good service and good price too. I've been to many restaurants in York, and this is the best one by far. Very recommended. If you live in York you have to try it.

Amazing atmosphere and ambience. Never tasted scran as fire as this place. Had the pork belly rice and partner had the pork belly ramen. We also got Long Island iced teas. Amazing value for money. Definitely recommend

Too bad, the food is still burnt and can still be handed to the customer Is this what you mean by not serving burnt food? Fortunately I didn't throw the food away, otherwise it would have looked like I was setting you up. Is this how you treat your customers? Instead of reflecting on whether you have any problems, you still question customers, which is simply unbelievable.

What a hidden gem! Visited today after a recommendation from our hotel. Both my husband, two daughters and I loved the food - chicken ramen, gyozas, teriyaki chicken strips and possibly the best chicken katsu curry ever, it was absolutely delicious! Part of the Brew York Beer Hall, which has a great atmosphere, wide range of drinks, beers, ales & meads, YUZU food and drinks can be ordered from and delivered to your table via QR code. Food came quickly and there was plenty of seating without it feeling too cramped. Toilets are located on the same floor. Staff were super friendly and value for money was spot on, portion sizes were generous. We would absolutely visit again, wish there was a branch local to home!

Feel like we stumbled into a hidden gem! Food was super yummy and the beer selection from the brewery was even better. The menu had plenty of options for veggies and a number of vegan dishes as well. Great location and spot for a group dinning.

We ordered from deliveroo. I left a review on deliveroo but I also had to leave one on trip advisor just because the food was SO GOOD. Really quick delivery, the food was hot when it was arrived and the food was absolutely exceptional. We ordered 2 x Boa Buns, korean pulled pork fries, koren bbq chicken strips, & duck gyoza. Everything we ordered was UNREAL. Absolutely amazing food and will definitely get again.

The duck on the fries was just a lump of fat and skin, very little meat. Complained to 2 waitresses nothing done about it, they just took them away, no replacement. Very disappointed. UPDATE I have changed/updated my score as I was contacted regarding my complaint which was listened to, explained as to how it had happened (young staff members first day) and a refund given for the fries.

Yuzu is in Brew York. Good service, short wait for fresh prepared food. Prices acceptable. Large choice of drinks. Had the Tonkcoco. Just a small one as I was driving. J2O later!! Able to get into conversation as no flashing slots and music was low key.

Food was very good. The tofu was incredible! Reasonable priced for big portions! Quite loud inside but still was a good atmosphere.

Nice and easy to order with a wide variety of choices. The service is great, not too long of a wait and the food is absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend the pork belly rice.

Amazing food! The Katzu curry and gyozas are delicious and they have great beers too. It’s a noisy place but the food is so worth it!

food was pretty good, with the soy egg with a runny centre and the sticky rice within the bowl being the highlight. Service was speedy but not great. The best thing is the association with Brew York meaning the atmosphere is good with plenty of choice for accompanying beverage.

Love the duck fries. Don't love the nearly 37% price rise in under six months. No change in quality or size since they were £9.50 and are now £13. Price Gouging.

Went yo Yuzu at Thors tipi today for some lunch. Absolutely blown away by the Salt and Pepper Chicken and Chips Munch Box. All aspects were incredible and the sauce on the chicken should definitely feature on the normal menus chicken strips. Unfortunately we were quite disappointed with the Gyoza Honey Soy Baked Camembert. The gyoza were very nice and there was plenty of them but the Camembert was undercooked and although the outer edges were slightly melted the inside was almost completely solid which was a shame. Would have asked for it be cooked a bit more but as it had taken a long time to come out we were unfortunately in a rush. Overall couldn’t recommend the salt and pepper box more, but would steer clear of the Camembert.

What a great visit. Nice industrial feel to the bar. The bar man was very helpful in helping us decide what beer to have. The food was delicious. I had the loaded chips with duck. Prompt service and piping hot. 👍🏻 nice to spend a couple of hrs out the rain, in the heated downstairs bar.

Been here plenty of times in addition to getting their takeaways. Always 10/10, as was on this occasion for me. My partner's meal, miso ramen, apparently was horrible though and left almost the entire thing. It's a shame, I suggested to speak to the staff to rectify this but she didn't want to be a bother P.s the best katsu curry you'll find 🤌🏼

I order online and I was so impressed. Quick delivery and the food was so good. I tried a bowl with teriyaki tofu and rice, it was delicious and generous. Definitely will order here again next time I visit York.

Four stars because the fries were far too salty and the noodle sides were a sticky, starchy, luke warm lump. Apart from that, the bao buns were generous, the katsina curry sauce and the teriyaki rice were tasty and the atmosphere fantastic.

1 star for the bolshy doorman who told was an absolute wetwipe to my daughter and her 4 friends. She's 18 and they are 17. In fact they had travelled to York from Newcastle-upon-Tyne to celebrate her birthday. Asked for their id even though they were going to Yuzu to eat and not get blind drunk. He then later came to where they were sat and told them to be out by 8pm. What a weapon. Yuzu send spam for brains on a customer relations course. Although they said the food was lovely and the lad serving was great!

I did not enjoy eating here. All the dishes had the same overpowering teriyaki-type BBQ saucy flavour. After paying, while inspecting the prices during wiping the sticky bits off the table I realised an overcharge by around £30; but upon querying couldn't seem to explain that I'd never ordered or received the squid and chilli flakes. After several goes I lost all confidence in my ability to communicate with the millennial staff and left feeling much older than when I went in. To this day I don't know if I've ever got a refund as thinking about checking that transaction makes me cower in a corner, wrapped in a tartan blanket sucking a Werthers original.

We went here to try the bao buns and were not disappointed! Absolutely delicious. I had the miso aubergine bao and my partner had the beef. We both want to go back to try more flavours. The chips were lovely too. Hot & fresh skin on fries. Perfect! We thought the food prices were very reasonable. There is a wide range of drinks on offer because it is upstairs from Brew York. It's all part of the same enterprise by the look of things. My partner enjoyed his craft lager and I had a cracking margarita cocktail.

Re Yuzu food in Brew York your menus change then change the menus! You looked really annoyed when I pointed out that the bao buns came with pickles! ",not any more" you said .... the menus clearly say otherwise .... change your menus or serve with what it says on the menus!! I've also just seen you pick and eat from bowls of food on the servery hatch!!!

We were after a light bite to accompany our Brew York beers - and the in-house Yuzu was perfect. Pulled Pork dirty fries, followed b BaoBun desserts - yum!

Food was outstanding. The duck fries are a lot bigger than expected and so delicious. Bao buns are pretty large too. Everything we ordered was phenomenal

My girlfriend picked out an amazing date location for us, from start to finish we enjoyed a vibrant atmosphere with a huge drink selection in the beer hall. Perfectly accompanied by quickly served Asian food which included an excellent KFC bao bun. Highly recommend this place either just for a pint or just for the Uber high quality Asian food at fairly reasonable prices

Food was excellent and really good value for money. Whole range of beers from Brew York amongst the wide drink options. Service was very friendly, the setting great and atmosphere was lively. Couldn't have asked for more.

This place is fab , what a find the dishes are truly lush !!!! Don’t be put off with the location , go there , the restaurant is v modern and the food !!!!! Amazing

We went for lunch today after finding this place on Google. I love the concept of street food and casual dining with an emphasis on small businesses doing great things with food - we weren’t disappointed. Wow what a fantastic experience, the food was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. We ate Bao, Gyoza and Korean chicken strips. Everything was so well cooked, quality ingredients, portions are huge and there’s attention to detail in the sauces and garnish. Food looks as good as the pictures if not better. Throughly enjoyed this and the staff were lovely. We’ll definitely be back and am recommending to everyone I know!!

The food is lovely here but I was disappointed to order the prawn tempura rice bowl priced at £14 delivered with just three prawns. Considering this is the main point of the dish I don't think this represents good value for money, especially when compared to their other rice bowls.

Great dinner! The restaurant is tucked away with the bar Brew York (great name btw), so it can be easy to miss when walking by. But don’t miss it—the food and atmosphere is fantastic! There are plenty of vegan options and great outdoor seating. You order from a QR code, and the app doesn’t always have an option to select vegan (that would be convenient!) but we just asked the staff inside when placing the order and they made a note for the chef and all the food came out vegan no problem. We had tofu katsu curry, Korean bibimbap rice bowl, miso ramen, vegan yaki udon noodles, the three vegan bao buns, veggie gyoza, edamame with chili salt (spicy and tasty!), and katsu curry fries. Everything was great, though a few standouts were: katsu curry fries, udon noodles, and the Japanese fried tofu bao.

This is a hidden gem. Food is excellent and very handy that is in the brewery tap room beer hall

Messed up my food the last two times I’ve eaten with then, the first time in the restaurant and the latest being on deliveroo. They ran out of 2/3 of our Main dishes, and compensated by sending 1 main instead. So I was left without a main dish and just fries. They didn’t pass on the message so we could amend our order. Won’t be ordering nor going in-store again.

Last time order the Ramen is fabulous, this time morning, all favor just has gone. The soup is tasteless, the Yaki udon can put into my mouth. Sorry won't go back again.

Ordered from here a fair few times now and everytime it's amazing . The food its beautiful. Amazing flavour, quick service and quality food . Definitely worth trying . If looking for something new give it a try , you won't be disappointed.

Ordered crispy dumplings with Fresh Sapporo noodles. The dumplings were bland, dry and seemed like the ones that came from the supermarket. The noodles were not fresh and were clumped together like they came from a packet, they’re were also very very dry considering they were cooked in chilli oil. The presentation and speed of service was good. I had high hopes for this place but I wouldn’t recommend and probably wouldn’t come back.

Absolutely delicious food. The tofu bao was divine and katsu rice and noodles both spot on. The salt and pepper chips were sadly soggy and bland though, and out takeaway took nearly 2 hours to come. The bao and katsu were good enough that I would go again but probably only if I could dine in, as I wouldn’t risk that kind of wait for takeaway again.

My favourite place to eat in all of York, Awesome love the food good relaxed vibe , all the staff are nice , well worth the price , very filling very generous portions , I always struggle to decide what to get as everything is so nice.

Yuzu deserves to be discovered by more visitors to York. Hidden away in a slightly industrial looking yard in a building they share with Brew York, so you can combine delicious street food with a locally brewed ale. The food was tremendous, like waga, only...

I used to love yuzu when they first began, however I recently came and the quality of the food was extremely poor, the chicken tasted like it was just from Lidl with seasoning on it and the chips were similar. Very disappointing as it’s expensive...

We were sooo happy when we stumbled on this hidden treasure!! We had the most wonderful bao buns and a ramen dish, we wished we could have tried more dishes but unfortunately it was our last day in York. Also the atmosphere was very relaxed and service was great. We highly recommend!!

Ordered as a delivery. Baos are amazing, a little expensive at £7 each but three for £18 is well worth it. Loaded fries are massive and meaty and delightful New corn dogs at the pop up aren’t worth it though. Great, crispy batter but the hot dog itself must have been the cheapest they could find and is actively unpleasant to taste.

After having been to the yuzu in Pocklington and enjoying the food there , I was expecting here to be just as good. I was however extremely disappointed. spent £50 and ate hardly anything . The chicken wings were covered in a barbecue sauce that tasted like it had a bottle of vinegar added to it and the hoisen sauce on the duck fries was exactly the same.. My partner had the pork belly ramen and it was flavourless and more like spaghetti than ramen . I had the tabbokki and that was watery and very little flavour. We were there about 10/15 minutes and left over half of the food . The staff were not very attentive more interested in chatting to each other . And we moved tables as the first one was really sticky and the second table wasnt much better .. Needless to say will not be returning .

Was served by the kindest sweetest waiter of all time. Her name was tia i think - her service was extraordinary and ive never seen a waiter so good at their job. she convinced me to buy the pork loaded fries and tofu. I'd go back again, her recommendation was splendid.

The food is punchy in flavour and visually bright. Certainly not a bland meal. There were some issues in getting the QR code to work and mobile orders to go through, so save yourself some wasted time and frustration and just go inside to order...

First time visit and very nice! Quirky interior, great atmosphere and yummy food. The menu is decent and lots to choose from and the portions are big!

We visited this lovely restaurant in November 2021 and the food was to die for This food was beautiful and the staff was very friendly there was breathtaking artwork all over the walls that created a lovely atmosphere it was so nice and tranquil to sit and enjoy a lovely meal in this gorgeous restaurant. Me and my sisters had the teriyaki Korean strips, my Mother had the loaded duck fries, my Father had the Miso ramen with egg and my mother and father both shared the prawn boa buns and every single one was super delicious. I definitely recommend dining here if you are local to York! I also have an allergy to nuts and they could not have been more helpful! 👍😊

Had to wait nearly an hour for my food, whereas my sister only had to wait about 10 minutes and we ordered at the same time, it ended up being served so late I hate to get it to take away. Also they forgot to add on the extra I paid for 😔. The only up side to the experience was the cocktail I had was really good and the food was good....once I finally received it

Ordered over deliveroo, 2 bao buns and katsu fries. The bao buns were nice, although not a fan of the sauce in the tofu one (just a personal preference though), but the fries arrived completely plain. Had to request a refund, disappointing as the fries...

This is one of my favourites places to eat in you I go at minimum once a month and I would recommend to anyone who likes craft bears and japanese food. The atmosphere is overall good I just wouldn't recommend if you want a quite night as it's all was popular.

Well I've been to the other restaurant in Pocklington which was quite nice, this visit to the york one was absolutely terrible though. Everything we ordered was awful, chicken wings tasted like they were cooked a day or 2 ago, the ramen was very bland...

I was having an awful long day and I ordered at the very last minute before they closed. They had ran out of what I had ordered but gave two other delicious dishes instead of the one and left the nicest message! Thank you so much for making my day, I will definitely be ordering again :))
