Middle Feast in York

The food in here was fabulous so very tasty will ingo back again yesterday I most definitely will 😌😌

Their shawarma was as good as anything we've had during our trips to the middle east. I had the lamb and my wife had the chicken. Our friends had it served over rice, ours was in a wrap. We also enjoyed visiting with the staff. One of the staff members took the time to answer our questions and showed us a video on how he makes the shawarma. Its reasonable priced and you can eat in or carry out. The pistachios baklava was also delicious. We had a private guide the next day and he brought up the Middle Feast restaurant as his go to lunch place between tours.

Ordered a mixed wrap. Walked 3m home. It was body temp at best! I’m a chef, so I probed it. Was at 33°! Not safe! Not up to eho regulations! Do not eat here!! In response to your reply, I am sorry. It wasn’t 30 minutes. It was 3. I live over the road from you. Brought it back within 10 minutes to get my money back. As I was not risking eating it.

Well below average for me. The fake mojito is around £6-7 that only has one leaf of mojito as garnish. The food tasted well below average i wont go there again.

I wanted to write this Review because we unfairly left a 1 star review on Uber eats Sadly our food arrived after about 2 hours of waiting but this was not There fault and was uber eats fault. We actually went into Middle feast and they couldn’t have helped more and they sorted everything out for us such lovely staff and the manager Abdul was lovely really nice guy lovely smile and if i’m been honest i wasn’t that polite to start with but quickly realised they are doing a great job and there food is amazing just a shame Uber Eats are rubbish. We will be ordering from Middle feast again but will collect lol Thank you Abdul for helping and giving lovely service all the staff were very friendly and there is a great atmosphere in the Shop

Normally a fantastic place to eat, though this time not so great. Ordered a large lamb & chicken kebab unfortunately they seem to have forgot the lamb plus the meaning of large.

Tremendous quality. The lamb Is an acquired taste (seasoning). I go for the chicken shawarma every time; chipotle sauce. With various pickled veg. ABSOLUTELY Middle Feast!

Food is good, grills tadtes well. The server Susmita is really enthusiastic, she talk many jokes which makes me enjoy.

Great food, wonderful staff too

The food was great, friendly staff especially the lady who served us was lovely.

Ordered a mixed kebab with rice, hot and spicy chicken wings, chips, mozzarella sticks and chicken bites. The portion of chicken wings included 2x chicken wings and a few chips in the box- how can this be classed as a portion of chicken wings for nearly £5. The food was all cold when delivered, meaning had to reheat on arrival. Salad in kebab was not fresh at all. The mixed kebab did not include enough meat- few pieces of chicken and lamb. We paid just under £40 for this- absolute waste of money and will not be ordering again.

Smashing vegan food, good portions

We visited Middle Feast yesterday for the second time. We were greeted by Monisha who seated us and provided excellent service with a lovely smile throughout our visit. The food was great as it was on our first visit, the rice is particularly nice, (we haven't managed to prise the secret ingredient out of any of the staff on our 2 visits!) Highly recommend.

Lovely place to eat if you’re visiting York. The girl on the counter was friendly and the chicken shawarma was honestly the best one I have ever had. Thank you, we will definitely be back.

Shawarma roll was passable. Hardly enough sauces were added, I had requested a couple, it made the wrap overall not juicy enough. The salad mix was largely red cabbage.

Mixed shawarma was spot on. Freshly prepared ingredients all wrapped in a delicious wrap. Staff were very friendly. 2nd time I've been here. Just a shame there's not one closer to where we live.

Lebanese takeaway. Not somewhere I'd eat, but.mid-afternoon, feeling hungry, I decided to try a sample of their marinated chicken shawarma. It was tasty. I ordered chicken shawarma wrap. Would I like salad, not extra? Yes please. I ordered a small one. They treated me to a large one I sat at a little shelf opposite the counter. Very messy to eat, but very tasty. I noticed further in tables and chairs, but did not appear to be available as blocked off by a board. Located in Lendal. Cross Lendal Bridge heading towards York Minister, turn right into Lendal, and find on the right.

Great food had vegan board with chicken nuggets and chips which were gorgeous. Lovely find, small and friendly with fresh food. Highly recommended.

We always have a good experience at this restaurant, the waitress Alara is very kind and helpful. We always go for their chicken shawarma, which is very well stuffed and served as a good portion. I would really recommend this place.

Delicious food, good prices, friendly people

We stumbled across this place because my toddler was tired and we needed food, rest and energy. I'm so glad we did! Service was excellent as soon as we walked in, the servers were fabulous with my son and gave him a free fruit shoot whilst we had our food. Called him "boss man" which he loved! Atmosphere was cosy and the surroundings made you feel like you were in another country. The food, oh my days, we had the chicken shawarma wraps, I had mine with garlic mayo and yoghurt and mint sauces, absolutely divine. My partner had his with a touch of chili and yoghurt and mint, just the right amount! All in all, we live in Hull and don't visit York very often but when we do come again we'll be going back to this place. 10/10 stars! Thank you all

Sometimes slow service, but the food is so delicious there

This is the worst so-called Middle Eastern food I have ever eaten. I've never had a truly bad Lebanese before this. The pictures are appetising and appear correct but the food you get is like a pale, nasty parody by someone who has never eaten the real thing in their life. I'm normally the family dustbin but I left most of it, the meat didn't taste safe let alone tasty. The mezze was spectacularly pathetic.

ive walked past this place many times and its always smelled so good, i really could not resist it today and finally went in. real seasoned cooked meat, tastes homemade, absolutely amazing, they even ask if youd like your chips inside the wrap, real cutting edge stuff.

Everytime I go there the staff are so friendly and accommodating literally every single one of them, I make sure to come here everytime I’m in York. The chicken shawarma is the best I’ve ever had and the chips are top tier

The food here is amazing, recommend the halloumi wrap 100%! Service is great too, the people here are so friendly and there’s a great atmosphere in the restaurant, recommend the mixed meat with yoghurt and mint sauce too. Will definitely be returning to York just to come back here 🤩

I ordered the Mezze and dined in on my own while on a quick lunch break. Friendly staff and the waitress was very polite. The Mezze didn't specify if the Lamb was Shawarma or skewered chunks of meat. It was Shawarma so that was a little disappointing but that's just my personal preference. As far as Shawarma goes, it was still tasty. I'd recommend that they update the menu to specify that it is "lamb or chicken shawarma" as part of the Mezze.

Food very good. The place is small and quite cramped, but a quick meal was enough for me.

Wow, maybe be a bit expensive at ten quid for a large kebab but jesus wept it was good. Perfect for a wander back to the station. Lamb to die for, garlic chilli and tahini for the win. Can't wait for the next one.

Just what we needed. After a few expensive fancy restaurants in York we were craving some good value middle eastern food, which Middle Feast provided (also what a great pun!). Tasty food and a nice environment to eat in.

As a Lebanese I am confident when I say, this is great Lebanese food! Reminds me of the late nights roaming around Beirut with a good shawarma in hand. I think I found my new favorite spot. Highly recommend visiting this gem!!!

I came to this restaurant. We came all the way from Sussex so the chef gave us a free mezze platter. I was shocked how nice the chef was. I got my shawarma. It was a nice shawarma but it was too saucy and spicy. It also became messy. The complementary for us mezze platter was so delicious and the garlic sauce was so nice I would recommend this with the lamb kofte

Been here a couple of times. Ordered on uber eats and it’s been amazing food. Perfect chips and perfect shawarma, exactly what I wanted, beautiful flavours and great texture. 5* and the best Middle Eastern style food in York.

I have mixed feelings about this place. The menu prices were a bit misleading, and I found it surprising to be charged £1 extra just for a small tub of sauce. However, I can’t deny that the food itself was amazing! The shawarma was incredibly fresh and packed with flavor—definitely one of the best I’ve ever had. If you’re willing to overlook the pricing quirks, the taste alone makes it worth a visit!

Went here on Saturday. Staff very nice and helpful..Can tell it’s a happy place to work and manager was friendly. Lovely food! Was had the chicken and halloumi shawarma, falafel and hummus and mixed shawarma… all very tasty and definitely good value! Recommend.

Came for York Restaurant week and they fed me a meal so massive it would easily feed two people. £10. Legends.

Wow. Went in on the off chance for lunch and definitely had a feast. We ordered a starter, which was lovely, then we ordered a tagine each. When it arrived, luckily, it didn't look too big. What we hadn't realised was that the tagine only had the meat in it. They then brought more plates, one with warm flatbreads, one with rice and a large wooden platter with houmous, salads, a raita and stuffed vine leaves. It was phenomenal. Everything was well cooked flavoursome but sooo much of it. One would have been enough for the two of us. As it happened, they were very happy to put the leftovers in a couple of containers for us and we were able to enjoy the meal for a second time the next day at home. Authentic flavours and very pleasant staff. The place is small but don't be put off going, there's more space for eating than you might imagine. Much more than a 'hole in the wall' kiosk. I thoroughly recommend it but beware the portion sizes!
