Middle Feast in York

Our first visit to the middle feast but definitely won’t be the last. Best kebab I’ve had in years! I had the chicken shawarma which was delicious and my husband had the lamb shish with chips which again was excellent. Staff were brilliant and really friendly. Top food and top service, we’ll be back soon!

Our first experience of this type.of food. We really enjoyed it, the portions were huge and definitely good value. The only thing we would say is that, as a first timer the menu was not 100% clear. We had the lamb wraps, the menu said 'side of salad' and 'dips'. But, when it arrived it was all inside the wrap. Not the end of the the world, except I hate warm salad! However our server Ruby was lovely, and did an excellent job of looking after us. In all, we would definitely go again, especially now we know what to expect.

I wouldn’t usually leave a review for a wrap meal but the vegan falafel wrap was outstanding in size and taste. Second visit and will definitely return 😊

Great food, cheap and cozy. We were served by friendly Nabil, Neha and Ali, they even gave us a free glass of wine because of a mistake we did when ordering.

A joyful experience I will return to. Got lunch from here today before catching a train which Middle Feast is on the way to from the city centre. Got a chicken shwarma and genuinely the best I've tasted, and a medium portion filled me up to the same degree as large wraps have done from other places. Oh and student discount is always wonderful!

Average wrap at best. Very small portion size, definitely not value for money.

Gluten free options. Was happy for the options as I am gluten intolerant. The food was ok. I think the service outshone the food. Ruby was a gem (pun intended) she made us feel very welcomed and comfortable. She was very attentive. Would recommend.

Delicious, recommended Great service

Went in on my way home to get a bite to eat. Had the BEST lamb shwarma. The guy that served me was super friendly and we had a laugh. The shwarma was massive and full of flavour I definitely reccommend the tahini and the hummus is delicious too!

I went there last night with my family and the atmosphere there was good with nice and warm Lebanese vibes and the smell of the shawarma attract me inside the store. I enjoyed a lot and I am going to recommend that to all of my colleagues. Thank you middle feast for such a good food and service.😊

Wonderful food, really friendly and accommodating staff, took great care of us. It was busy when we arrived and they found us a table then moved us to a better one when it was available and the complimentary apple tea was delicious!

Had a very good lunch here with the family. We all really enjoyed the chips! Ruby was a very friendly and lovely waitress, she made our experience enjoyable. Thank you!

Great food and even better customer service. Big portions for a good price. Niha and all the staff were very attentive and courteous. Loved also the decor with bills from all over the world.

Best kebab I've had in the UK. I could smell the spices in the street and that's what made me head inside. Really fresh and flavoursome. Great value for money and really friendly staff.

Lucky find, thought it was takeaway only but surprised to find a small area at the rear to eat in. Service was great. Ruby was lovely. The food was so tasty and cooked to perfection. Shar tawook and lamb kofta. Juicy and tender. Served with fragrant rice and salad plus bread and sauce of choice. Would recommend and would return.

Poor wrapping ordered a large one the only thing large was the wrap the meat and topping are average and not much. Order spicy but it came without... Poor shawarma overall... Cooked in rush and with poor quality… I think that I can call this is a basic wrap… Last time here. I would give 3 stars but it would be unfair! They get 2 not for food but for good welcoming! Not often seen here in UK. Wishing good luck!

Stopped in after drinks as we were both fancying a kebab. Don’t be fooled; this isn’t your average greasy kebab shop - the food was fresh and delicious. Probably the best kebab I’ve ever had. The staff were helpful and friendly, plus we were found a nice table in the corner when we wandered in off the street. Highly recommended!

Our new go to place when we visit York. Gorgeous food. Nice little area to eat in at the back. Super service. Looking forward to our next visit.

Delivery service was good. But some of the food wasn’t quite up to the same standard. The salad box is very sparse in the salad. The chicken tasted good, The burger was nice and the chips were good but a single portion is quite expensive. Try it and see what you think, this is just our opinion of one meal. The last time we ate here it was much better so maybe tonight was a one off.

This is meant to be a mixed grill and cost £19!! Absolute joke. Won't be ordering again. Massively gone downhill

Absolute lush food for a Lebanese lunch. A shared humour starter followed by the most delicious chicken schwarma wrap - its a gem hidden amongst the coffee shops and bars in the city - the food cannot be beaten and price wise its value for money

I was in York with friends in a day out for shopping and we came here after hearing some great music playing and the smell of Lebanese food. I had a huge mezze platter and my friends got some wraps! Its was so good and a lovely lady served me who I think was the owner, she was a good laugh and gave us great service. I’ll come back here for sure when I’m back in York again!! Just wish the place was bigger for more tables and chairs.

Outstanding XL mixed kebab unreal flavour

i went to middle feast and was greeted very warmly by all staff, i got recommended a shish tawook and it did not dissapoint. the staff gave me some complimentary apple tea to try very lovely. i finished off my meal with a luxury chocolate fudge cake which was delicious. i would come here again tomorrow and the next day if i could, infact i might!

Called in earlier today to grab some dinner. Huge chicken and halloumi wrap full of flavour! All the staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble! Would definitely recommend calling in if you’re in town. Special shoutout to Wael and Baher for cheering up my day

We found this gorgeous little place after arriving at York for a day trip and it’s safe to say we had no regrets. We arrived with a pram and they were kind enough to move tables and accommodate for us despite the restaurant being small. The portions were large and filling. The food came on time and didn’t take too long either which was an added bonus. I ordered a chicken shawarma, baklava, and fresh glass of orange juice all of which were absolutely DELICIOUS. They kindly packed any remaining food we had left for us.

Rude staff, reflected in poor food due to not asking what customers wanted and this meant my meal was awful compared to what I normally experience!

Absolutely incredible food, best kebab i have ever had! Would highly recommend if you are in the area. Might be a bit pricier than other kebab places but well worth the expense. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. We both CLEANED our plates.

Sad to say I’ve just had my last middle feast! I have always come to middle feast after a long day at work or after a few drinks. Sadly the quality has dropped and the food just isn’t what it used to be. Such a shame.

Decent place can’t lie. They’re open late which is appreciated.

Wish we had a place like this in my town. Absolutely delicious and really well presented shop. Came here twice on our trip to York and it didn't let us down.

I recently dined at middle feast and was thoroughly impressed by their lamb shawarma. The flavors were exquisite, and the meat was perfectly cooked. Moreover, the service was incredibly friendly, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend trying their lamb shawarma if you visit this restaurant. Overall, a delightful experience that I would happily repeat!

Tried for the first time, was not disappointed. We ordered a lamb sharwarma and chicken sharwarma and then shared them so we had half of each. The lamb was very tasty, not fatty and spot on with the amount in the wrap. The chicken was equally great; I would struggle to choose between the 2 in the future. Dining in area was small but cosy. Toilet facilities clean. Staff friendly and made both ordering food and paying at the end very easy. Even wrapped up our leftovers to take home. Prices very reasonable. Definitely recommend and we'll be going back another time.

I've lived in York for ages and I always come back to middle feast, the food is fantastic, filling, fairly priced, has good portion sizes and has the best veggie fast food option (large falafel and halloumi wrap) I've ever had. Absolutely and completely recommended

Cute little place. Love the atmosphere only down side is they bill u for sauces. I ordered a falafel wrap and plate of chips and i asked for some sauce as was dry and i had to pay for the sauce. But other than that i do love this place. Definitely should try it.

Decent food at that time of the evening

I stumbled in here today, almost by accident (I had tried to go into Spring Expresso but they were just closing up.) I was only going to have a coffee, but then I decided to try a Falafel Shawarma Wrap. It was really tasty. Generous portion, filling and reasonable value, nice chips and unusual brightly coloured salad with it.

Friendly, welcoming service. The lovely lady serving was very informative regarding menu options. Delicious food, good sized portions, chunky chips, lots of sauce options. Good value. Small seating area at the rear of the eatery, toilets available. Nice atmosphere. Highly recommend.

AVOID! I visited the place with my family yesterday afternoon time. I noted this place on our last visit to york and really wanted to give it a try on this occasion whilst in York. I had some huge expectations as everywhere else in York we go the standards of food are amazing. I couldn't be more mistaken. Mix grill I ordered was a tiny portion with meat soaking in oil. Side salad looked like leftovers from the previous day. Pita bread from the commercial pack. My wife's chicken shwarma wrap was terrible, too. The meat had no taste as if there were no spices used to prepare it. The pricing is a robbery in comparison to the standards of food served. I personally would be ashamed as an owner to be putting on plates for their customers' stuff like this. All in all, it was an absolutely horrible experience dining there. It spoiled our whole day visiting York.

I've walked passed here many times and really wanted to try it. It didn't disappoint. I chose a Lamb Shwarma with Hot Chilli sauce to take away and it was incredible. The meat was so juicy and tender and the salad really fresh. I will definitely be back.

We had chicken shawarma salad plates, which were amazing! Tahini and hummus on the side, with lovely flatbread. Service was friendly and helpful, prices were great. Brilliant place.

Ended our night in York with a wrap on the way back to the hotel. Absolutely incredible stuff would 100% come back.

Not very good service, Falafel dry, lamb shawarma too salty, potato wedges too greasy. Would not recommend.

£7.95 for a largely salad falafel wrap. Little falafel in it. Ludicrous, totally overpriced

Ordered a falafel wrap and chicken swarama wrap for delivery . Both arrived without any sauces so tasted very dry. Falafel was dry and not at all moist inside. Overall disappointed as eaten here before (not delivery) and found the food to tasty.

Fresh and decent quality but no point in offering 10 diffrent sauces if you forget to put them on and don't even try and order more than two things because you have no chance the order will be right

Food is ok but the prices outside wat much different than inside ...I feel like ripped off ...two wrap (falafel and chicken) £26.40 !!!! Its on the board outside is around £15 !! The guy said inside is different price but its too much ...disappointed

This is our regular go to for shawarma place. Love their chicken with garlic mayo but braved to try Mohammed’s special wrap last Friday and it was also very good. The staff a friendly and will tailor to your preferences. Never ate there, always have mine as take away.

Great place in York. Nice kebabs, chips and rice. The boss has built a great team, from the chefs, to the servers, to himself. And especially Ruby! Thank you and see you all next time

Generous wraps, we ordered two, one chicken and one lamb. We loved them! The waitress Rummy loved us and our daughter. It's a shame that we live so far away and can't return. Always asking us if the food was delicious and if everything was good. Only drawback: it was cold and rainy November, and they couldn't close the front door, I was cold (we asked for it)😅

The lamb wrap is incredible. It makes me sad that I've lived so long and never experienced this before now. As are the chips (chunky proper ones). The falafel is proper and not dry. Almost went and got another lamb wrap, but my wife said that 1 per day is appropriate. See you guys tomorrow!

We visited this place and unfortunately they do not live up to their good reviews. The meat smelt foul, the portions were very small, the atmosphere not so good. There were only two dry falafels on the starter we ordered! The mixed grill was way too greasy and my little one could not even keep the food in his mouth and spit it out! The staff were nice and friendly, hence, two stars. Not recommended at all I'm afraid.

Not for me. The mixed grill meat was very sour (excessive lemon/vinegar?) and DEFINITELY not worth it in terms of value. Kebbeh was fine in terms of flavour but was very, very oily. Chips were fine. 👌 Bread wasn't freshly made or heated - it's just commercially produced bread straight out of the bag. Delivery took a long time (which isn't the restaurant's fault) but as a result the packaging was all soggy/melted by the time it arrived. All in all: I didn't love it. I get the feeling that this place is better if you go in person but isn't a great choice if you're ordering in.

We tried the wraps for lunch. Very nice for a lunch on the go and good value for money. The pickles were awful, tasted almost like plastic but they were just a side so not too fussed! Nice to have lunch outside whenever the weather is good

Never dined in but always looks great indoors love the food as a secondary school student it's very cheap (£8) to get one chicken shawarma and be full from it

Very average fare. I’ve had much better.

I had a great dining experience at this restaurant! The food was delicious, and the staff was amiable. However, my only suggestion is to reduce the use of coriander in Falafel. As for the ambience, I believe they should consider revamping the decoration to match the Mediterranean theme, with beautiful blue and white colours and some extra spotlights to enhance the atmosphere.

Food is nicely warm but definitely not Lebanese style. Place is hemmed in due to location so I ordered a takeaway with rest of family even during a summer rain storm! Dishes other than shawarma didn't look appealing tbh. May go there again as it is the only Middle Eastern restaurant in York centre. Manager should serve Lebanese style shawarma if it is a Lebanese restaurant! Wraps would have home-made garlic sauce not out of a Turkish bottle.
