£2.60 for one very small scoop of ice cream that looked completely lost in the tub.......absolute rip off. No wonder the lady serving asked me if I wanted w scoops for £4.50 (I think). Everywhere else you go to they put a bit more in the tub or even fill it especially because you aren't having the cone but not here. Certainly not value for money.

What a great surprise to find this fabulous cafe bar in Whitby. It’s French, it’s chic, it’s different, it’s table service and we love it. There’s tons of bars, cafes and restaurants in Whitby, all competing to be unique but Montmartre is quite simply the best. For the summer months and warmer days, there is outdoor seating as well as a cosy indoor area decorated with pictures of French actors, singers, cars, theatres and cuisine. The cocktails are superb, so many choices and expertly made. A great evening guaranteed.

My daughter and I visited the cafe this morning on a visit to Scarborough. A few tables and chairs outside but we opted to sit inside. The cafe was immaculate, tables and chairs were thoroughly sanitised once customers were finished and they use a track and trace system. Staff were excellent and friendly in their customer service. I am very particular about my coffee and the coffee they serve here is amazing. They serve freshly squeezed orange juice and the range of savoury and sweet food is very reasonably priced. Will definitely visit again.

We've been loyal customers returning here twice a year, but this time we received a much smaller fish at increased price! £8.80 to get a portion shown in the picture. The hard batter shows that it has been cooked too long and the fish inside is dry. Chips are passable. I'd rather queue up for longer at another place for better quality.

a literal hidden gem as access is either up an allway or from a small courtyard. Home made foods and cakes. They do jacket potatoes, scones, cakes and their signature Sotta nini, which is a Stottie filled with various fillings and then toasted like a panini.Very friendly staff. It is a bar as well so you can get alcohol if you want.Lovely quiet place with delicious grub.

We could not rate this idyllic tea room enough. Perfect location, fast and friendly service and amazing food, nothing was too much trouble, very happy attentive staff, we will certainly be back again soon. Delicious food and very reasonable prices. We also visited the shop attached which had a great variety of goods too 👍

Decided to call in for a cup of tea as it looked quite cute and appealing. How wrong we were! The woman serving was very unprofessional and not making people very welcome apart from the shady undesirable looking locals at the reserved table. She was openly talking about customers when they were sitting outside and talking about passers by. At one point stating I am in the wrong business as I’m not a people person. We did agree on that. She is rude and very disrespectful for a business owner never mind a lady !! Give it a miss and go to the very cute friendly places along bar street towards town

I booked this venue for my son's 40th birthday. Nothing was too much trouble, and they even offered to step in when we didn't think the disco was going to come! Lovey and clean, excellent room.

I ordered fishcake and chips. I expected the fishcake to be filled with fluffy mash and pieces of fish covered in batter (how a fishcake should be). What was in the batter was a grey block of disgustingness. The chips were cold and like cardboard. Over the road from this chippy is Renard's fish and chips. I advise you go there.

Great location…….that’s it, we had Whitby scampi. The chips and peas were really cold, the scampi was swimming in grease and soggy. Gammon again cold chips, salty poorly cooked meat. A real disappointment and no staff about to ask about it they were outside having a fag 🤦♀️

Having not visited this cafe before but hearing some lovely reviews, myself and my husband were looking forward to visiting for a warm coffee on a cold day. The cafe itself is lovely, very tastefully decorated, cosy and the shop is wonderful. However, there was a member of staff working behind the counter with long dreadlocks whom myself and husband found to be very rude and quite hostile to the other members of staff he was working with. He was slamming utensils and cups about, and swearing quite loudly claiming that customers had been rude to him. We'd been sat here for some time at this point and hadn't witnessed any such behaviour from any customer sat in the cafe. A young girl then came into work and she began crying as the gentleman working behind the counter had seemingly upset her. It's such a shame this happened as the 3 ladies working were so wonderful and welcoming. We cannot fault the food, the cafe or the other members of staff at all, the rest of the service we received was more than excellent. We were, however let down by this experience and the gentleman on shift this day.

What a fantastic find on the mezzanine of the newly renovated market hall on a damp March afternoon in Scarborough!! A little taste of Spanish cuisine and wine in a fab venue at incredible prices with a very lovely proprietor. Whilst we didn’t have the time to do so, we loved that you can also buy excellent looking wines from the shop and enjoy in situ for only £4 corkage if you want to enjoy something different to the delicious house Rioja. If we lived in Scarborough, it would become a favourite haunt. Hope to be back again soon.

First visit. First impression delightful location. Extremely poor / processed quality food (not uncommon with many cafes/tea shops). Very small slice of cake and eclair with equally small dollop ice cream, cup of tea and mug coffee cost £12.70. As with the venue people seem nice. Accept dogs (which is great). Suggest review and improve quality of food and presentation. Leaving a used cigarette ashtray on table not indicative of professional service.
