Una visita para cenar después de un día encantador en Whitby, tuvimos las Frutas de la Mer y una botella de vino de un viñedo local. Ambos estaban absolutamente fuera de este mundo - hicimos un pedido de seis botellas de vino directo con el viñedo local porque disfrutamos mucho! El marisco fue excepcional - mi primera incursión en las ostras no decepcionó. Caramelo Apple Betty para el pudín y estábamos todos listos. Lo único que diría es que el servicio de mesa es malo. Los sirvientes parecían más interesados en limpiar las mesas vacantes que en tomar nuestro pedido de postres o traer nuestra factura. Lástima, porque con un gran servicio, esto podría ser una verdadera joya en la corona de Whitby.

Fantastic restaurant this. Authentic Italian food and drinks. Great atmosphere and family owned and run. The staff are brilliant, it's a super clean and really well presented restaurant. Definitely going back.

Staff were lovely and all the meals were freshly prepared. 3 out of ourv4 meals were 5 star tasted and presented lovely. only issue was one of our group chose the chilli con carne and it came out seriously spicey with overly generous chillies which is good if you like it that way but no mention on the menu it was hot hot hot chilli. would definitely recommend for a visit if your in the area

This is a lovely place. Lots of veggie & vegan options for brunch. Food was excellent quality.

Parada perfecta para una taza de la tarde y una rebanada de pastel. Nos encantó la decoración, la música atmosférica y la sensación relajada general del lugar. El personal era muy amable y el servicio excelente.

Bought lovely fresh cakes from shop / staff very helpful and smiling faces and attentive. However based on that experience we decided to go upstairs to tea room for lunch on a wet miserable day (Tuesday 9th July) a small queue - one couple in front of us - lady (supervisor?) behind the desk asked us if we had booked, my husband said no… She continued to prepare orders, help cashier who was clearly inexperienced at using til and completely ignored us and the couple waiting in front of us. The tearoom was not busy, lots of empty tables … she continued to prepare orders, we continued to wait, not a word to either of us 2 couples waiting to re-assure us she would get us seated! Having waited for over 10 minutes on a quiet day - I looked at my husband and said I was leaving and would find another establishment who I’m sure would welcome us and be happy for us to eat and spend our money with them. Bothams can take pride of your shop and staff but less can be said for how your tea room is managed …. Won’t be going there again !! Did not like her manner or attitude - maybe she needs further training in customer care !

Me encanta este Bothams. Fantástico producto, tienda muy bien cuidada. El personal es siempre muy amable y servicial. Una mención particular al joven que nos sirvió hoy (14 de abril) un verdadero crédito a Bothams, muy educado, tenía grandes habilidades de servicio al cliente, parecía que realmente disfrutaba de su trabajo. Les deseo a todos éxito continuo 💗

Couple of nice fish dishes, good wine, nice surroundings and fresh ingredients. The only thing that could have made it better if it was warm enough to eat outside on the terraces. Lovely.

Great pub. God selection of beers. Outside area facing Marina. Very good traditional pub. Nice warm fires if there's a chill outside. Local musicians usually have jamming nights on a Wednesday. All are welcome to listen and join in if you are so inclined... Try it out, and you will enjoy it..

The food was of good standard and the portions fit the price. However the service was a little lax, even though the restaurant wasn't very busy and the QR scanner for the menus wasn't working. Experienced an excessively long wait to be served at the bar, where the staff also seemed unorganised.

Decent pub mainly locals good atmosphere

We were staying in filey for week and called in here 4 times great pub friendly staff, Lewis served us the most and a credit to the place, but all staff were good . Cheap drinks,good choice and can't wait to go back sees you in September .cheers mark

This is pub not restaurant standards. They need to be much better organised and more professional with customers as the food is not cheap. We ate here twice throughout our stay mainly due to them accepting dogs. My chicken on first visit was very dry and lasagne on second visit was too. They need to have someone manning the bar who can be efficient and only do that as their job, we got our drinks served half way through our meal. They are running around with no professional standards maybe need to have another member of staff and have some hospitality training. It’s a case of come in sit over there and you will be served at sometime.

Two friends and I visited Mallyan Spout for an afternoon tea, (£50 for two, £28 for one). From entering to leaving we couldn’t have had a more perfect afternoon. Surroundings were beautiful, the staff were attentive, highly trained and very friendly and the afternoon tea was gorgeous!!! Three different types of sandwiches, sausage roll, four different cakes plus a scone with jam and cream, massive pot of tea. Extremely good value for money. Highly recommended.
