Fabulous food with large portion at great prices, the pub is lovely and the staff are hard working and friendly 😀

We visited on 2/8/24. Our food was gorgeous 10/10, the atmosphere was lovely and a band called in briefly playing guitar and violin! What a lovely experience. Our 2 children loved their food and even said they wanted to go to the bar to tell the staff that it was the best meal they had ever had in a restaurant. Well done to Derek and his whole team, we has a fabulous evening and an even better meal! The rack of bbq ribs were exquisite and the scampi and kids meal of chicken goujons were beautiful. The haloumi cheese and the soup starters were fantastic. And the side of garlic bread was the best we had ever tasted. We HIGHLY recommend this venue and will certainly be re-visiting in future.

Pleasant place for drink, access is good, wheelchair friendly,wc ground floor they do serve food, unfortunately can not commit on it as only had drink enjoy

Warm friendly welcome by staff, cosy familiar atmosphere. Delicious homemade food at a reasonable price, probably the best fish and chips I've ever eaten, steak pie was amazing (tried a bit of my mates) and the fudge cake + custard was also superb. Good pint and selection of drinks. 10/10 will go out of my way to come here again.

The food was absolutely lovely however when I was taking a small break from my meal (with my knife and fork still in hand) the waiter took my food off me without asking if I had finished (still had more than 1/3 of my meal left). Lovely otherwise just make sure your staff are asking if people have finished their meals before taking the plate away.

First time eating here and it definitely won't be our last I had the Sunday roast my wife had the beef and ale pie both were great and I had a sneaky taste of her pie delicious,will be ordering this next time. The staff made it a good experience.

Traveling through England from Australia I decided as it was Sunday to find a lovely Sunday roast and came across Scarborough Arms. The menu stated the price was £7.50ish which I was happy with. When my food arrived I was disappointed, two tiny slices of roast beef that was incredibly dry, a large amount of potatoes, and steamed vegetables. I was disappointed there were no roast vegetables except for two Roast potatoes. The stuffing ball was so incredibly dry, even drowned in gravy, Yorkshire pudding was pretty good. To add to this when I was checking my bank statement, I saw that I was charged £14 for my meal. Will not be returning.

Came here based on glowing reviews and can confirm it's just as great as it sounded. The food was amazing, I had the Panko chicken with a delicious homemade coleslaw and handcut chips, himself had a steak and ale pie with veg and gravy ... we were bowled over by both. The staff were brilliant and the pub itself is very laid back and pleasant to be in; nicely decorated throughout in a modern slightly rustic style with lots of attention to detail. Also very dog friendly, with treats, water and pats provided

Came here for our 40th wedding anniversary on 30th of June with our family absolutely lovely. Service from a lovely young man was brilliant. Food was delicious compliments to the chef

Just called for our tea. The worse meal weve ever been given. Gammon was rock hard, lasagne was disgusting, chef wants sacking.

We made a quick decision on eating here as we were in abit of a rush. SO glad we did, the best Parmo I've had. Great service, really friendly ladies on the bar and a good selection on beers/ciders. Would definitely return.

We called in on the off chance as I'd read good reviews about the food and it was listed as having real ale. I got quite excited when the siGgn outside boasted that they served Theakston cask ales but unfortunately they were nowhere to be seen, luckily they had Great Newsome Moo Mild as the only other cask was Wainwright. The food was pretty good, I had 5 bean chilli enchiladas which tasted ok but lacked spice and were a little on the sweet side for some reason. My wife had a portion of sweet potato fries and then Apple Crumble and custard which she enjoyed. I couldn't fault the service and the atmosphere was that of a real local even though it got quite busy.

Recommended to us, and it lived up to expectations. Food was fabulous, loved it! Will definitely go again.

Fantastic lunch after a visit to Scarborough Castle. The homemade curry with garlic naan was delicious. We devoured a hamburger, steak and ale pie, chicken kabobs, and kids' meals of chicken nuggets and sausage and chips and peas.

We just turned up family of 5 with a dog, got seated, we got drinks ordered food arrived in a timely manner, everyone got different dishes and all thoroughly enjoyed it. Would defo come again.

Nice food for a pub. A bit less pub and more gastro, but ok. The wine I ordered was unavailable, but they offered us a selection for the original price which was the clincher on service. An eternal gripe - a burger that needs a spike is too fancy/OTT. The burger was nice - keep it simple.

I had steak and ale pie with a selection of veg. Everything was cooked to perfection and the homemade pie was exceptional.

Amazing food! Went to Scarborough for the weekend and saw this place on Google. Best choice we ever made. Ended up eating there twice as the food was delicious! We had the surf and turf and the portion size was huge! Highly recommended x

We had a absolutely beautiful meal today ,well worth the money, fantastic quality and lovely size portions ,I would not hesitate to recommend, it's the first time we've been and we would always return when in Scarborough, staff extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble

Great meal and service was fantastic. Only reason for 4 star on atmosphere was due to the "Karen" customer sat behind us. Whinging about everything and anything.

Absolutely abysmal service, would rate zero stars for service if possible. Staff completely ignored us, refusing to take orders or even acknowledge our presence. It felt as though they were deliberately avoiding serving us, which was deeply unsettling. The lack of attention seemed discriminatory, especially as we were the only non-British customers. 😉

Lovely Sunday lunch maybe another couple of slices of meat would be preferable for me it was fine but no where near enough for the men. Very tasty though and would recommend the beef roast.

We had gammon, egg and chips and the Cluckin Marvellouse Burger. Beautiful food and service. Definitely be back.

A fantastic and very DOG FRIENDLY pub! We visited on a Saturday evening (had booked with a friendly member of staff the day before after easing good reviews) as a party of 4 adults and 2 dogs. There’s a large dog friendly room, the menu has a good choice of pub food, all homemade, and the fish & chips, curry, pie and chilli were all delicious. Wide choice of drinks and really helpful staff. The owner, Derek, came over to chat and was so welcoming and grateful for supporting this local business. This is now our favourite pub in Scarborough and we plan to be back soon!

Visited for Sunday lunch, which didn’t disappoint. Not only is there gravy on the plate with meats, Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes, but you then get a jug of gravy, side dish of three vegetables (which were cooked perfect and were very tasty) and some garlic butter new potatoes. Such good value for money and the service was great. We booked in advance but there were some free tables when we arrived, but it was busy so I’d recommend booking. Great choice of wines and beer/lager at the bar.

Went in with our dog a couple of times. The food and beer were very good they treated our dog and other dogs with biscuits and gave them water bowls . So highly recommend this pub .

Evening meal, adults both got a pulled pork burger, kids chose from kids meal and where both happy with. All very tasty and filling.

Best lasagna I have ever had in a pub, tasted amazing! Husband had the haddock and chips - cooked to perfection!

On holiday.... Scarborough Arms was recommended in our guest book so thought we'd try it out. Food was excellent, we had the Sunday roast, it came with all the trimmings. Highly recommend.

Went in for a drink and something to eat. We had the stake pie with chips and vegetables, which was very filling, the service was good. There were only a few people in, so not much of an atmosphere

A great little pub, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of town! Nicely kept beers, nicely furnished and a tasty looking menu.

Lovely pub, dog friendly too, drink prices are at the higher end Id say, but it is a really nice pleasant place. The food was great quality for the money paid, we both left stuffed. Car park very convenient at the side although it is pay and display before 6pm

Where do we start Jess welcoming and polite with a Yorkshire twist. Bar prices reasonable and drink selection extensive. We was looking for an old school Yorkshire bar that served quality food and we were not disappointed,we were so impressed we ate twice. Simple but focused menu something for everyone, there is a slight wait but you accept that for quality food. First visit chicken curry and parmo, second visit beef chilli and Cajun chicken burger both awesome proper quality grub. Jess very attentive despite us having a very irritated dachshund. YES THATS THE ICING ON THE CAKE DOG 🐶 FRIENDLY😴😴 Highly recommended and thanks to Jess and the chefs for making our visit memorable 😀😀😀

Our table was booked for 5pm we arrived at 4.45pm our table wasn't ready but the friendly staff took us to a different table so we didn't have to wait. You are probably going to pay £15-£20 per head but the food was worth it. HOWEVER ....this IS NOT a family friendly pub if Derek the landlord and his mates are drinking shots in the bar. The landlord was happy to throw a plate of cream in his friend's face, the friend then decided it would be funny to physically assault me and cover me in the cream as I walked out of the pub. DEFINITELY NOT a pub for anyone who is not a local. I am not writing this review to affect his business because I would definitely have enjoyed my evening and the £50 we spent would have been worth it if it were not for the childish antics.

Great place to visit if you want a friendly pub with lovely food.

Well I have to say, I read all the favourable reviews and thought we should give this pub a try for our evening meal as it's only an 11min walk from the Premier Inn. Anyway after Google maps took us half a mile in the wrong direction we made our way back to here. I have to say the reviews were not wrong a brilliant little kind of 'Local' pub, great atmosphere, cosy and really great food, next time your in Scarborough, check it out!!

A great place with lovely food. Service always good, although can sometimes feel like you are being a hinderence. Food is good.

We booked a meal on a Saturday evening to celebrate our anniversary. The food was beautiful and hot when it came out. I ordered meat pie which came with a plate of vegetables, a small bowl of boiled potatoes and a jug of gravy. My partner ordered lasagne which came with garlic bread and salad. We were both full when we left and the price was reasonable. The price of the steak is a little more than I would pay and the mixed grill was also quite pricey but if that's your thing then I'm sure you'd be happy to pay it. There were plenty of drinks available and also had cocktails on the menu. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back when I'm in scarborough again and would recommend trying it (I would advise you to book as it was really busy)

Great beer, and really amazing food. We went in for a half after arriving to visit family and saw tge quality of tge food coming out so we booked us in for lunch tge next day and it was top quality pub grub, not the usual at all. Restaurant level.

Came to Scarborough for a weekend jolly with my pals and this pub was just around the corner from where we stayed. We ate lunch there twice which was nice and good value for money. They had a couple of guest ales on tap so and everything else you might expect. Relaxed atmosphere and very welcoming, would highly recommend.

Food was delicious, service was great they were always checking to see if we needed anything, would reccomend to anybody, we will definatly be going back and on the plus side they allow dogs inside too.

We popped here for a drink in the afternoon and decided to go back in the evening for a meal. How pleased we were, what an excellent meal we both had. Great value for money. Such friendly staff. We would highly recommend this pub to all !!!!

Sunday dinner £12.95 2 roast potatoes one Yorkshire pudding hardly any vegetables, the ones we had were dry, are we on rations? lukewarm meat. Better off popping into macdonalds for a happy meal.

The best pub we've been to in Scarborough. We drank here a couple of times recently and thought the meals looked good. Last night we had dinner there and it was better than good. The pub itself is really welcoming and clean. The beer was great and my wife enjoyed their selection of gins. Worth a visit!

Warm, cosy and dog friendly. Staff were lovely and food very nice. Would recommend and would go back again. Had lamb cutlets from the specials menu. 😋

Nice pub and they keep their ales well!

Quiet chill pub, but they do need to sort the music out as it was jumping none stop through my visit and completely the wrong vibe for people in there. Super dog Friendly and helpful staff. Food is pretty decent here, fresh, although a bit more effort put in 5/7 for pricing for what you get but still ok. Not the best selection of beers available but still enjoyed my visit. The Chicken burger was delicious. Thank you :)

Great experience. First time there as visitors to area . I'm celiac and staff made sure my lunch was suitable . Limited selection for celiac would have been 5 starts if selection was better. That said good food at reasonable prices. Very dog friendly so wife and I happy

A Tuesday evening visit ..we found it very busy and we're told there were no tables but we could share one .. I think it would have been nice to have asked the people we were sharing with but I don't think they did.. The staff seemed over stretched and Brough (i believe) the owners out to ask people to change tables and share so they could accommodate more customers .. He food was homemade and the lasagne was nice us the fee salad leave thrown on the plate with it wasn't very appealing ..my husbands burger, He said was outstanding but again let down by the accompanying salad .. The family we were sharing with however recieved a wrong order and was told it would be rectified they left leaving untouched food as it never was .. All in all a fair meal however a victim of it success maybe .. Won't be going again nor recommend it
