Cinnamon Indian Restaurant in Scarborough

Have used this restaurant for takeaways in the past and really enjoyed the food but tonight two out of the three main dishes were bland and flavour free. Would have been a one star review but to be fair the remaining dish was satisfactory. The complimentary salad on the other hand was brown and in edible. Prices have gone up and quality down, just not worth the money any more. Real shame.

I put the wrong postcode in accidentally however when delivery arrived after providing the right postcode. I was questioned by the driver who was very intimidating trying to get more money after I was already charged £5 extra for delivery because of the ‘rain’. He said the other postcode was miles away (it was 3 minutes away from my address) it was only when my boyfriend arrived that he stopped and handed the food over. Food however was nice just could not recommend because of delivery.

Excellent quality coming from Bradford originally this is exactly like it was at home the best curry I’ve had since moving will be my new regular

Beautiful food and piping hot and not a long waiting time highly recommended.

Lovely food. Only negative this time was we ordered a large amount and it only came in one bag which had caused the bottom trays to be a little squashed and messy to open.

The lamb potato balti is so yummy. The meat is tender, plenty of meat & veg in the dish. Good food & nice people when we eat in restaurant as well x

Very worst experience ever Ordered a full course thali But they provide only starters Contacted to the restaurant and mentioned the issue The staff was soo rude and shouted back Don’t trust the add on the website They are totally rubbish and if we ordered they will delivered something else

Decent curry, not brilliant, lamb chops are excellent however, some of the best I have had!

Lovely, although the curry was salty and the mint yogurt was quite runny.

Ordered a lamb Dhansak but it was abit too salty and was very oily.

Ordered chicken pathia and saag chicken, pickle tray, naan and keema naan. Food was absolutely dreadful, dry as can be, flavourless except for heat of spices, no meat in the keema naan. I have always enjoyed their food in the past, sad to say they will never get my custom ever again.

This will be easier to bullet point. - ordered for delivery for the family - Total Cost - £54.50 inc £3.50 for delivery. - Restaurant then accepted the delivery request. - Rang us asking if we would mind putting the delivery charge up to £5 because of distance, we said not a problem. - Food arrived on time. - Requested another £5 not the agreed £3.50 + £1.50 to make £5. This took the total meal cost up to £59.50. - Restaurant refused to take a phone call to discuss whilst delivery driver was at the door. - Finally got the food in to find the photos below. - Chips were anaemic, might as well still be raw potato. - Curry containers were that squashed all 3 curry’s had mixed together and half of the curry was in the bottom of the bag, a complete disaster to actually dish up, especially considering two were hot curry’s and our 4 year old was having a korma. - The Korma as you can see was again really poor, no flavour and really bitty / powdery texture. - All in all a really poor experience, barely any of the food touched a complete waste of £60. We’ve only done 2 reviews before both for exceptional food. So this is a first for us but honestly just such a shocking experience.

Came here during our holiday. Curries were delicious and lady and man serving were friendly and attentive. Would definitely come back here again if in Scarborough. Very impressed. Thank you for a lovely meal!

Love this place food is brilliant and the female staff always friendly. Just a shame that the Sunday set meal has been withdrawn, hope they consider bringing it back. Travel from Leeds twice a year just to visit as the deal was value for money

food lukewarm and late and taste was average at best. rice was lumped together and difficult to break up. some chicken was fine, others were rubbery

Put an order in they didn't send some of the order then blamed us and refused to send our order or give refund told us of we wanted what they owed us we would need to order again from them they are theifs it's not the first time they have done this the order was over £50 definitely won't be going there again con artists

Food was fantastic. We really enjoyed the food and we can take our own wine. Two female staff were really good with service. But i had an issue with one male staff after two female staff left,when i was trying to pay the bill, he tried to over charge me by putting a higher amount to the card machine than the invoice, when i realized and asked him about it he took the invoice and again calculated by his calculator which is inappropriate as clearly it was his mistake or he has tried to over charge me purposefully. It’s a good place with good food but watch out when you paying your bills.

An outstanding meal tonight, quality of the food was excellent, one of the best curries I’ve had for a long time, probably the best curry in Scarborough. I would recommend you to try this restaurant, first class.

What a fantastic traditional Indian restaurant, superb service coupled with great food. Six of us dined here each meal different in taste and generous portions. We dine at many Indian restaurants and this is up there with best. Please ignore the negative reviews try for your self we were not disapointed.

Family run with a lovely team! What the restaurant is lacking in atmosphere, it makes up in the quality of the food. Bring your own booze is plus too!

Cinnamon is our go-to takeaway, the food is always good quality, tasty and hot and delivery is usually on time if not a bit early.

Excellent food - been here twice over the last 4 months and both times the food was freshly cooked, tasted delicious, was good value for money and service was appropriate. Can definitely recommend the Sizzler for 2 starter and the Baltis. The decor is a little tired but if you are more concerned about the quality of the food this is an excellent place to go. It is bring your own alcohol as well which keeps the overall meal cost down.

Really the only place to go in Scarborough. We used to go here all the time but they seemed to lose their way a little but oh my have they got it back with a bang. The past few times we have been the food has been absolutely stunning and again the inly place we will go in Scarborough for take away, simply the best.

I live in West Yorkshire so high standards on the curry front. The food was very good and right balance of flavours and heat. We were dining as three generations and everyone was so happy we went back three days later and did it again. The restaurant itself is very basic and this it is very much food first and decor second which I can live with but others may not enjoy as much. The loss of a star is more around the restaurant decor and setting itself and on food it’s five star. The other thing to mention is it’s BYOB.

Quick home delivery, absolutely lovely food and all staff very pleasant snd helpful

All I can say is that the food was first class. The flavours are out of this world. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality and quantity.

This is the second time I've ordered and I loved it. Authentic flavour. Just what I like.

An excellent meal from Cinnamon, as always. Delivery took slightly longer than normal but we were told of the delay and, anyway, the food arrived within the initial time window.

I moved to the area last March and have been looking for an Indian with an authentic taste. So far I've been disappointed but I've just ordered from here and really enjoyed it. Looking forward to trying out some of their other special and regional dishes soon. Next time I'm going for Cinnamon-e-balti as that sounds amazing.

That was the spiciest balti I’ve ever had it overpowered the food if it had been less spicy, it would have been lovely. It was just too much.

After looking on the reviews and photos overall they was positive, we tried it out and wasn't disappointed, we had booked in for 5 o'clock and we was the only one's in,hence atmosphere stars. Two more groups came in and it was more lively. Customer service was excellent, Food and service was great.we are in Scarborough only for the weekend but would recommend it for anyone to try.

The restaurant is very understated in a fairly run down block and the menu is not legible from the outside (something they really need to sort). Would have walked on but it was raining so checked online for reviews, which were pretty good. Unsurprisingly we were the only customers but the service was prompt and the food really good. (Spicey poppodums, prawn biryani, chapatti). Will definitely go again when in Scarborough.

Excellent authentic Bangladeshi food. Lovely family owned and run restaurant rightly popular with locals and tourists alike. Puts the other ‘Indian’ restaurants in Scarborough to shame.

We visited the restaurant and we had one of the nicest currys for a while. The food is excellent. I must admit the restaurant does need to be refurbished in the near future. This is not a criticism, I feel this would make no 1 restaurant in Scarborough because the food was amazing.

Always love the food from here and most times the food does arrive within the time given and sometimes often early. I did get an apology and extra poppadom thrown in but I would have preferred the order be updated or a response to my message when I queried it.

There was nothing but bits of scraps in the tandoori chicken masala. Not even enough meat to have been off a chicken drumstick! There was far too much coconut. That was all you could taste. The palak aloo with mushrooms was mushy and bland. The Garlic naan and mushroom rice were OK. Not great but OK. All of it was not warm enough and an altogether bland and boring meal.

We had a table for four, excellent service and the food was fresh and really tasty. The lamb chops are to die for! The Naga chilli curry was fantastic and all the breads, naans, and roti were fresh and delicious. Take your own beer - you're in for a treat'

I spotted this restaurant as I was walking to another curry house, spotted bring your own alcoholic drinks, so popped into shop got bottle of wine! And then enjoyed a delightfully tasty meal that was so tasty I went back the next night and was pleasantly surprised by midweek meal deal 👍👍 Excellent food and service! Will be back on next visit 👍👍
