What a great little place, fantastic staff and atmosphere

Liked the French theme and atmosphere. Cocktails were great and there was loads of choice. Service good but could've done with more than one member of staff for the amount of customers as we didn't receive drinks at the same time.

Absolutely brilliant place. Highly recommended. We stopped off Café Montmartre not knowing what to expect but found an amazing cocktail bar. The decor is fun with loads of stuff on the walls and ceilings to look at and admire. We ended up going for two out of the three nights of our weekend break, I wish we found it on our first night. All the cocktails we had were fab. My favourite was either the New York Sour or the Old Fashioned.

A gem of a cocktail bar in Whitby. You get what you pay for so expect a higher bill than the more regular bars and pubs in the area. Relaxed and friendly service. This is not the place for a hit and run pint.

Cosy little french themed cocktail bar in Whitby. Called in for cocktail from the extensive menu..and no mudslide on the list so had a couple of Coronas 🍺instead.Table service only..no food and quite pricey.. but worth a visit. Lady who took the order very pleasant ..guy who fulfilled it.. maybe change of career?.. undertaker perhaps?

Incredibly rude and lazy service. Really ruined the atmosphere. Apparently no draught on beers, 330ml bottles only. As other reviewer said don't expect a hello or goodbye or any acknowledgement that you're even there- took ten minutes to come take our order, before we were finished asking for our drinks the server had already turned his back and walked off. AVOID

The worst coffee with the worst service in Whitby (probably in the whole of North Yorkshire). Don't expect a smile, a hello, a thank you or a goodbye when you leave. Watch what they mark on the dataphone because they will try to charge you more than it costs.

We stumbles on this wonderful place this weekend and are greeted with amazing warmth and hospitality. The service was exceptional and the cocktails were some of the best we’ve ever had. Highly recommend the French espresso martini and the outstanding old fashioned! Thank you for a wonderful night.

This is such a lovely place. The drinks are amazing my go to cocktail is a bramble and it was by far the best bramble I've had. The staff are very friendly and the decor is cosy and quirky. This will be a must visit every time we come back to Whitby now.

Loved this place. Very friendly service and a superb French Expresso Martini. Some very nice wines are also available. If we come back to Whitney we shall come back to this place.

Excellent cocktails made by a really friendly staff member. The prices are quite high (£12ish) but the square is pretty and the interior of the bar is quirky and lovely.

The bar has a really nice atmosphere, and the non alcoholic drink options were very well made. Mocktails made in a shaker which you don't get everywhere!

Lovely wee place. Had the best espresso martini of my life. Spent a good while looming at all the pictures of French celebrities on the walls and ceiling. Nice, chilled vibes with friendly staff. Also, the loos are beautiful

Absolutely loved this quirky bar, it had a great atmosphere and the staff were friendly too. This is definitely somewhere we will visit again when we return to Whitby

Lovely atmosphere and great cocktails too

Ordered 2 espresso martinis and was shocked at how bad the quality and the prices of these drinks were. As a former cocktail maker, the coffee in the brandy espresso was so watery instead of being rich and velvety and was charged £14 for each cocktail. Definitely thee worst cocktail I gave ever bought. It tasted like cold, weak days old weak coffee with absolutely zero flavour. Terrible

I can't comment on the food as we didn't eat here. I can say that there is no finer cocktail bar in Whitby. The atmosphere is perfect for a cosy drink, with the best cocktails I have ever tasted. The staff are fantastic and work so hard. Treat yourself to a visit, you won't regret it.

This is my favourite place in Whitby you’re always made welcome. They do fabulous cocktails that no one can do like these do great vibe I feel like I’m in a little French bar in the mountains when actually I’m only on Church Street in Whitby.. My favourite cocktails Are gin brambles, old-fashioned And Aperol Spritz.. You won’t be disappointed when you step into this place x

Great cocktails and fab atmosphere.

I worked in cocktail bars for nearly a decade, and as a result I struggle to find anywhere that makes classic cocktails to my standard - until now. First time me and the Mrs have been for drinks that I haven’t complained about them. Properly made cocktails, great atmosphere, brilliant staff and decent price. Can’t wait to get back to Whitby to drink more delicious elixirs. Absolute gem. 10/10.

Cosy, friendly staff and tasty mulled wine

Great atmosphere, stopped off for a cocktail with my niece and sister, cosy little set up. A bit expensive to what we're used to paying but not sure of the area on prices. Worth a try and friendly staff.

We always call in here for a drink when walking through whitby. The staff are always top notch. It's very small so best to sit outside but it's just a lovely little French bar. Tastefully decorated with a French theme. Very clean

Cafe Montmartre in Whitby is a great place for cocktails, wine, and craft ales. Danny and Katie are the best hosts, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable.

Looks like a lovely place, but good luck dining in, as they do not do food, unlike the photos and information might suggest! Just be aware! Cocktails look lovely but we were hungry!

The drinks menu is one to explore. They have some very nice drinks. It's cosy, small but can get busy very easily durle to its small size. The staff are pleasant. And overall I liked it. I will be going again. 👍

Quirky and cute little French themed cocktail/wine bar on The Shambles side of the bridge. I had a gorgeous merlot and the old man had a French cider (popping cork!) Attentive, friendly guy behind the bar. Really lovely ambience. Have been recommending to everyone and anyone who will listen 🥰. Will deffo be a regular haunt for all our future visits to Whitby 🍷🍸

Great little place with a lovely team and a warm and friendly owner. It is completely different to anything else. We visited Jan 23 and went twice in one day. We enjoyed lovely hot toddy’s in the day and a selection of their amazing cocktails in the evening. Will visit again

Cracking food and great service

Stopped in on a cold night for a hot toddy and a G&T or two, both were great, super staff, made to feel very welcome. Super little place, great atmosphere will definitely be back when next in Whitby.

An absolute gem, great drinks and company in the strangers we met. And I really must thank the very generous innkeepers for their help in locating some chocolate for an old chocolate addict.

What a find! If ever you find yourself in Whitby then get over the bridge to old town Square and enjoy a cocktail here. We spent 3 nights enjoying it and will go again on our next visit. Great atmosphere and a simple premise that works perfectly. Overall brilliant.

My husband and I visited Cafe Montmartre every day during our recent mini break to Whitby. If you’re looking for great cocktails, this is the place to go! We loved this cozy and quirky cafe, the laidback atmosphere, and the friendly staff. We’ll definitely return during our next trip to Whitby! Highly recommend!

Great place for a cocktail and to watch the world go by. We visited 3 times during our stay in Whitby. Its not cheap and some people left when they discovered its not a pub type place but if you like cocktails I would highly recommend. Staff were great too.
