Marisco Lounge in Scarborough

2 lounge breakfasts and more than enough, really filling! Super tasty! 3 soft drinks and a pot of tea. Value for money at approx £32. Staff really busy but still couldn't do enough for us.

Want to give more points, but flat bread microwaved very chewy. That's a shame, as was very nice. Standards seem to have dropped a lot. Please no microwave we come regular and can see food issues appearing.

Had breakfast on Sunday, as usual the service is A1 the full English was bang average though some items cool, sausage undercooked, won't put us off having tapas in future though

Really great food and drink at quite a reasonable price. It was less than £200 for 4 of us to have multiple drinks and courses each. Tapas all tasted delicious and it felt like fantastic value. The main flatbread was good, though not as good as the tapas. Service was good throughout and staff were quick and friendly. Not the best atmosphere I've seen in one of the lounges brands but the view from upstairs was quite good, especially if the weather had been better!

Waaaaaaay better than the icaro lounge in Burnley, they had none of the beers we wanted or steak for the fries. This one however is a Lovely spot with great views, will be back if in Scarborough again defo

Lovely place. Had tapas Tuesday. The food was exceptional and service was excellent also. Their menu is really varied with superb range of dishes. They also have one of the best gluten free menus I've seen!

Popped in here for lunch based on it being Dog friendly. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice modern quirky design with lots of seating. Water and biscuits for the doggies. Menu is large with plenty of choice. We just had paninis. My tuna one was nice but my partners cheese and tomato was spoilt by an excess of pesto and red spicy sauce. Also, Doritos on the side were just weird. A bit of salad or a few crisps would go better. Still it's in a handy position and if you sit upstairs you will get a nice sea view.

All very good, large gluten-free menu

Food was lovely. However had a couple issues with 1 burger but was full refunded at end. The fried chicken wings on the tapas were the smallest chicken wings I've ever seen, to be fair they were so small I wondered if were from a baby chicken. Because of the size they were over fried /cooked and hard to even get the "meat" off the bone. The other two bits I got on the tapas board were really good, quesadillas and beef chilli.

We come to this establishment loads of times and we receive a lovely service and food and drinks. They make our Sprocker Spaniel very welcome getting him a bowl of water and treats. Recommend this place. Lovely location on the sea front. Scarborough is a fantastic sea side town.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal journey out visit to Scarborough. I had the lamb flat bread which was absolutely delicious. It lived up to my expectations and more. My partner had the tuna melt, lovely and freshly prepared. We chatted with the assistant manager who was friendly. Ordering was fine via the app, very easy. Would highly recommend. Love the interior.

Marvelous place, something a bit different for Scarborough Another great meal, 2nd visit

We popped in for a quick lunch bite, it was a great pick. Managed to grab a table upstairs by the window, so could watch the world go by. There was a lot of choice, we went for some simple muffin’s, they came quickly and were really tasty.

We popped in whilst visiting whitby. As you enter there's a sign right by the door asking you to wait to be seated. Two men were serving customers, saw us yet neither of them spoke to us at all but just ignored us. Another couple tried to squeeze in behind us and we all stood there being ignored. As there were plenty of empty tables we ventured inside and as we got halfway down one of the men approached us in quite an unfriendly manner and asked are we eating ! We said we weren't sure and he just told us to sit anywhere. My husband went up to order coffees and it was a friendly lady. We then waited about 20 mins for 2 coffees. I didn't feel comfortable at all and won't be returning.

We were spending New Year’s Eve with family and as we had been to pronto lounge in hull we were expecting the same good food at Mariscos. As it was New Year’s Eve we thought it would be busy so ordered a click and collect for 9.30pm. On arrival the place wasn’t busy , the order was not ready and one item we were told twenty minutes later was not available. We phoned the family to reorder another dish. On getting the food home five minutes away, we found there was no sauce with the bbq chicken , no house slaw on any of the dishes as advertised and there were bones in two of the chicken breasts so they were inedible. For over £50 we received one burger four dried up chicken breasts , one tuna sandwich and fries, all of which were lukewarm. Very disappointing .

Originally we had planned to go to Ask over the road, but after they were quite rude we looked around for an alternative and came across this gem! Things got off to a great start with a cheery acknowledgement as soon as we walked in the door as the lady was busy at the time, moments later she was attending to us, all very welcoming! The food it's self was great! Good selection of kids meals (about £8 with a little starter and juice included) I had 3 tapas bowls (about £14) they were all really tasty and good quality! We will be back :)

We decided to write a review as we heard a rather rude Karen (Sharon) claim she'd be leaving one whilst we were eating here. She has posted the review below claiming that new years day was quiet and they refused her a table... thats a lie, it was extremely busy as was the rest of Scarborough so understandably they were only working off their bookings. The service was brilliant, the food was brilliant, and we couldn't fault them for anything. It's just a shame that people can be so rude to wait staff during what is clearly a busy day.

We came here for brunch. We had the lounge breakfast and the tuna melt panini. The food tasted amazing. Portion sizes were great and the food really was lovely. The decoration is always very funky and original in the lounge restaurants. The drinks were also lovely and would recommend the lemonades and latte. Overall, we will definitely be back again!

Been here twice. Great for that tween time when cafes are closed and restaurants have not opened yet...but I would eat breakfast dinner and tea here. Great laid back not too fancy but very tasty, well prepared food, great drink selection . Really thoughtful staff. Quick service. Walls full of art. Thank you.

Friendly staff great food good view right on front excellent

Just dined in here, just got a burger with an added patty, fries, lemonade and a desert, £29.50. Got about twenty fries in a small dish and a burger which was greasy as hell, and as a result spoiled the burger completely. They couldn’t really go wrong with the lemonade but desert of a chocolate ice cream sundae was nice though, this is why I’m giving three stars because to be fair the staff were very nice and friendly, but seriously you need to pay a bit more attention to cooking the food properly.

Absolutely fantastic staff, went out of their way to make us feel welcome (and the food & drinks at a Lounge are always great). Great atmosphere, comfy chairs, and child & dog friendly - perfect pit-stop from the rain!

I had a lovely experience yesterday, me and my partner went for some coffees last night to enjoy the atmosphere and look out to beach from the upstairs windows, there was this one lady with brown reddish hair who was doing a fantastic job she was darting up and down the stairs delivering food with a lovely smile and even asked how we were enjoying our coffees, Just a very pleasant young lady. As for the others we maybe saw them come up the stairs a couple of times but as we were leaving one was just sat on a laptop and the other was stood behind the bar talking to the one on the laptop. Definitely no team play. Other than that I couldn’t recommend this place enough, the atmosphere was amazing and the views are so beautiful.

The staff were very friendly and there was plenty of selection or drinks, even for the kids who had amazing milkshakes. We had a selection of chips which all seemed lovely and the food that othe tables were having looked great. The atmosphere was nice although the decorations was a bit on the eclectic front for my liking.

Organizamos una fiesta de cumpleaños número 60 para mi madrastra mamá y Marisco fueron brillantes. Hicieron adaptaciones para los miembros de la familia que lucharon con su movilidad, nos dejaron aparecer temprano para decorar y nos permitió permanecer más allá de la habitual "mesa de vuelta en 2 horas" que se aplica a la mayoría de las reservas de restaurantes en estos días También organizaron tuberías y laterales para 24 personas sin que faltara nada. Todo el mundo realmente disfrutó de su comida. Sin duda volvería a reservar y organizar una fiesta allí

Reservé este lugar para el almuerzo de cumpleaños 60 de mi esposa. Necesitábamos algo familiar, ya que tenemos 3 niños que no les gusta sentarse. Necesitábamos flexibilidad, ya que queríamos decorar, queríamos que fuera relajado, y necesitábamos buena comida. Tenemos todo esto aquí. 25 de nosotros y se las arreglaron magníficamente. Todos aquellos que no habían estado antes dijeron que definitivamente volverían. La comida era sabrosa y un gran precio. Apelaron de joven a mayor. El personal era amable y todo el mundo lo pasó muy bien. Gracias Marisco Lounge y el personal. Volveremos.

June 2024 update: Gluten free menu still plentiful. I had a gluten free sausage bagel with cheese and it was delicious! Huge menu perfect for coeliacs! The best place ever for coeliacs! The gluten free menu here is amazing (over two pages!) and so much choice from all day breakfasts, to burgers, to chicken dishes. Proper food from a place that understands the struggle of being a coeliac. Staff are super friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about allergies, everything is cooked and prepared at a separate workstation with separate utensils. Your food is brought to you clearly labelled ‘GF’ and everything is prepared with your allergy in mind. This place is brilliant, the food, the decor, the atmosphere and the staff are just fab! You have a customer for life - to all coeliacs, treat yourself to the food you deserve! :)

Buena comida, excelente personal amable. Vinimos con mi hijo mayor y mi hijo menor hijo menor recibió algunos lápices de cera y cosas para mantenerlo ocupado mientras pedimos nuestra comida. Pedí la hamburguesa que era simplemente lovley agradable caliente y jugoso.

We only really had drinks apart from our daughter who had a cheeseburger 🍔. She ate it all and enjoyed that! It looked like a good mixture of food on the menu though. Good selection of drinks and dog friendly. One of the few places on the front that allow children and dogs in at night.

Esta es la segunda vez que visitamos y estoy seguro de que no será la última. Nuestra primera visita fue para una cena después de un día en la playa y encontramos el restaurante espacioso y acogedor justo para una comida familiar. Lamentablemente no pudimos conseguir ninguno de los sofás que hubieran sido perfectos para nosotros, pero tomamos el trabajo como una buena señal, y resultó ser solo eso. El menú es lo suficientemente variado como para atender a un grupo de diferentes gustos y necesidades, incluso en diferentes momentos del día y las actividades de los niños fueron bien recibidas. El personal aquí es atento y amable y todos disfrutamos de nuestra comida lo suficiente para probarlo de nuevo para una visita diurna. Visitando para el brunch, encontramos que el restaurante todavía tenía un ambiente ocupado y mantuvo una cálida bienvenida. La comida era, de nuevo, muy bueno, aunque el café un poco en el lado pequeño si estoy siendo exigente. En general, un gran lugar para pasar a cualquier hora del día y estoy seguro de que volveremos en nuestra próxima visita

Just wow! I was so impressed with the GF menu too. The chicken burger was probably the best I’ve ever had. Service was amazing and we absolutely loved it. Such a good find. To top it off I left my bag there and didn’t realise till the following day. The staff kept it safe for me and I picked it up later that day. It’s so hard to find decent GF food and this was one of the best places I’ve ever ate!

In amongst the many amusement arcades is this oasis of calm. I've always struggled to find great choices of gluten-free food and I found it here. A whole menu full, with as much choice as the normal main menu. The service was spot on and the food was delicious. Only in Scarborough for the day otherwise I'd eat here for all my meals. What a find!

Best gf food we have had in a long time. We chose from the tapas and the food was lush. Staff really friendly and made us feel very welcome Highly recommend.

We came to celebrate a birthday. We shared tapas and had flatbread, beef chilli and nasi goreng , all were delicious.It is such a lovely place to go for a casual relaxing meal in great surroundings. The staff are friendly and work at fast pace but always with a smile and very professional. We just love it here whether it’s for breakfast ( Miami brunch excellent) a coffee or an evening meal. A true gem down on the seafront !!!

Thanks for accommodating our group of 7 and 2 dogs with no reservation on a busy Saturday lunchtime. Great food, very well priced and staff were friendly. Would be more than happy to visit again.

Wonderful place and perfect for gluten free eaters. (It has an entire gf menu!) It's almost easy to walk by this place because it doesn't stand out in any obnoxious way, rather it's traditional, and slight contemporary decor, gives just enough personality to not be in your face, with lots of outside seating and the inside isn't overly cramped. It was surprisingly empty which made me worry that it wasn't that good but we were pleasantly surprised! They gave us a gf menu as soon as we asked and requested you order any allergen foods from the bar which wasn't a big deal and because the server was so pleasant and friendly it made it a pleasant experience The food didn't take too long to arrive and you don't get a massive amount, but it was definitely satisfying and no one walked away hungry My partner even rated the cowboy burger as 8/10 which was really good! He said it'd gotten higher but it was unfortunately a little greasy but would definitely eat there again!! All in all fab place.

Chips more oily than other lounges

This place is an absolute gem on the harbour front of Scarborough. Staff meet you at the door to be seated and ask if you’d like a gluten free or vegan menu. The gluten free menu is one of the best we’ve seen. When ordering, the manager took our order and he was so friendly and helpful. We didn’t wait long for food and every meal we had was beautiful, my daughter loved her gf steak and my breakfast was the best breakfast I’ve had! would 100% come back again!!

Called in on Sunday evening for food before travelling home, 6 tapas for 2 people and a side of coleslaw ( not on the menu for a side but did some anyway ). Absolutely delicious food can’t wait to go back again my wife and I loved it.

I've been in here loads, and never had anything other than lovely food. Really like you have a choice of either ordering at the bar or via the app. Food is quick to come and always well presented and prepared. I love there is a separate vegan menu, also a gluten free one.

Fantastic food great menu choice. Very allergy aware. Friendly staff. Great choice of real ales including Brew Dog Hazy Jane, my favourite on tap. and great value all round. Visited again in August 2024 and still a great place to visit.

Food was excellent, though very pricey for the portion size. Also hard to know who was staff without any uniform or even name badges. If you don't mind paying more, would definitely recommend.

Good vegan variety - I had the vegan breakfast and it was satisfying, if nothing special. Part of a chain of restaurants around the UK, with standardized menus and service. Lots of space and no need to book in advance.

Marisco Lounge in Scarborough is a spot we've returned to several times over the years, and it never disappoints. The food is consistently good, with a varied menu that caters to all tastes. The atmosphere is relaxed, making it a great place to enjoy a meal at any time of day. We've never had any issues—just reliably good food and a pleasant experience every visit. If you're in Scarborough, Marisco Lounge is definitely worth a stop..

On arrival I walked into the Marisco Lounge not knowing what to expect " maybe ANOTHER VEGAN BURGER" and that be my options,I couldn't have been more wrong, A whole Vegan menu, Which I assume may have been the boss that gave it to me, not expecting this I was overwhelmed by Choice then spoke to Ely, lovely Staff member (quite the professional, product knowledge, attentive, gave me a recommendation on a dish to try and by god was he right lovely lovely guy,(thank you from me to you Ely) fantastic ambience and atmosphere all the staff where very busy, but very friendly and helpful, would highly recommend this quality dining experience, if you're Vegan. If and when I return to Scarborough I will be returning. 5⭐,in my opinion.

Great seafront bar and restaurant.

We’ve passed this place few times over the last few years but never been in as it doesn’t seem to have obvious Gluten Free options/no gluten free menu outside (that’s my fault for not googling their menu which as a person with coeliacs i sometimes get fed up of having to do research and just go somewhere else I’ve been to before) but it might be worth the manager considering at least a sign say WE HAVE A FANTASTIC GF RANGE (other than the tiny writing on the corner of the menu on the wall outside that you can’t really see as there’s an outside table in front of it) making it more obvious because they really do have so much choice (A separate vegan menu is available too & when we walked in we were asked if anyone had any allergies/needs gluten free or vegan) and it’s fantastic food for coeliac. We went for Breakfast one day and went back for Mini tapas board (3 dishes for £13.95) on the Sunday night. I had the Miami Brunch on the Saturday for breakfast which was delicious. The hummus/gluten free bread, brisket chill and cauliflower taps dishes are all amazing and even my husband couldn’t tell the difference with the gluten free bread. All my orders were taken by management and it was checked that I’d read/was happy with the Allergy statement on the bar. Bar ordering was needed as I’ve coeliac but you can use a QR code and order at your table. We stayed for cocktails and desert on Sunday and both were great value for money! Now we know we’ll definitely be back!

Came in last night with my partner looking for somewhere near the seafront for a nice meal and we weren’t disappointed. All of our dishes were absolutely delicious and our server (I didn’t catch his name) his service was excellent. When we arrived we were told there would be a half hour wait on food but it took way less than that for us to get our food. Everything was top quality and if we ever come back to Scarborough we’ll definitely be back to the Marisco Lounge

Not very good customer service . Waited 15 minutes for tea cakes , when I asked about how long I was told we are very busy which they wasn't hardly anyone in at that time . Will not be visiting again.

I asked for a Oreo milkshake which sounded super yummy but these foo- the staff ignored me implying the lack of Oreo’s upon finding out of the lack of Oreo’s I was flabbergasted at this awful service

Took my mum here for a treat. Treat wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy. Front of house staff had less rush in him than a snail for start. Tables sticky. The toilet I would have rather gone in a while in deepest Africa there would have been less flys. Good job I had my crocks on for the paddling I had to do. If you don’t have a showers before you go you will certainly need one when you leave. Food was frozen rubbish and the amount of flys I think I paid extra for those. drinks for £10 each had barely any alcohol in them and no fruit. The place smelt of dirty cleaning mops and cloths. Keep away, save your money and go to holy cow!! Not one to write reviews but feel like I had to save some people from their misery and wasting funds on this shower of ******

Being as the weather forecast was good, I decided to go to Scarborough with my daughter. Being there for the day only, we only really had time for lunch. We were rather spoiled for choice, and what a shame we chose the Marisco Lounge. It is in a nice location, on the front, with good views, and their online menu sounded good, with a number of Vegan options to keep me happy. A sign at the entrance asks you to wait to be seated. Well, you might as well just sit down, or you'll be standing there, ignored, all day. Find yourself a table, then go and find yourself some menus, then order off the app. The staff still probably won't have noticed you there. Hardly surprising that there are 'Staff Wanted' signs all over the place. I ordered the Vegan 'bacon' sandwich, (£5.50), and my daughter ordered a couple of tapas - patatas bravas, and honey-whipped feta. I was shocked by what they were passing off as 'vegan bacon', something you can find in any supermarket these days. Please see the photo. It tasted pretty awful. My daughters patatas bravas were bland, with just a smidgen of salsa, while the 'honey-whipped feta mainly consisted of yoghurt, which wasn't mentioned on the menu, and which she doesn't like. All in all, pretty disgusting, and shockingly bad value. The stairs to the first floor are very steep, and several older customers were struggling with them, and needed to be taken to the toilet by relatives. So bear this in mind if you decide to visit. Personally, I certainly won't be back.

We visited for lunch on our first day on holiday to Scarborough with our 9 and 5 year old. We fell in love with the food the service and everything about this place. It’s so hard to find somewhere that has a varied menu for adults and also offers plenty of kids options but this place has it all. The service we received was top tier and after visiting 5 times we have definitely found our holiday eating spot. Special thanks to Phil who never stopped! Always attentive even when it was clearly busy. Two bar staff on the night of 1/8 were so warm and welcoming, unfortunately we didn’t catch their names. Good luck with the rest of the busy season guys, we will see you next year!

It was very hot outside and decided to cool down inside. Had a great meal and drinks, friendly staff and great service. And it was right in the busiest part of the town. Would definitely go there again 👍

I can’t rate the food as we didn’t hang around to eat. Please clean the establishment as there was a very strong smell of urine!! I hate to think what the hygiene is like in the kitchen if you can’t keep the main restaurant area clean. We ordered drinks, I had to ask for a cloth to clean the table, no offer of help! 3 members of staff bimbling around chatting to each other…I’ve eaten in many Lounges around the country and this is by far the worst, sort it out!

We were seated quickly but it all went downhill fast after that, I'm sad to say. Waiting at the bar to order drinks apparently rendered us invisible so we tried using the online ordering option ... scanned the QR code provided at the table which came up 'unsupported'. We gave up at this point and gave them the bum's rush. It wasn't a busy night so we couldn't see what the problem was really. We took our coin across the road to Ask Italian, a wise choice as we had a lovely meal there and excellent service
