Florios Pizzeria Restaurant in Scarborough

Can not fault the food and staff at Florios. All of it delicious and always coming out fresh and warm. They cater for large groups as well as just for couples, with its unique atmosphere.

Florios in Scarborough for my sons 30th. Lovely atmosphere, friendly service and the pizzas were great, apart from the pineapple on the vegetarian pizza 🤔 Marlon was great, sorting our large order and our bills at the end with a big smile and friendly banter. The bambino pizzas were huge.

Very busy but service was prompt and food was very nice and reasonably priced. Place needs freshening up somewhat but prices might then have to increase.

This place was recommended but honestly I wish we hadn’t gone. Firstly the noise in there is awful. It’s so loud you can’t have a conversation. The food was brought out within will minutes of ordering and looked like it had been made by someone who had learnt how to cook from you tube videos. This place is not Italian !! The chefs are not chefs. The staff behave like it’s a McDonald’s. I had aubergine parmigiana and I couldn’t hardly find any aubergine it was basically just Passata with mozzarella. I ordered a garlic bread with tomato and cheese. I could t taste any garlic. My husband had a glorious special pizza which was bizarrre! It had alsirts in it in little patches so a like of Oliver, a pile of pineapple etc looked like a child had made it!

Our second visit here and not disappointed. Good food, large portions and reasonably priced. It was busy this Sunday evening so we did book. Would happily visit again

Last time I visited was November 2023. I found my visit outstanding back then, and I am pleased to say it still is. A starter, main course and 2 peroni beers £24. The food excellent quality, the same great waiter, who provided excellent service and never stopped. Nothing was to much trouble for him. He noticed empty glass, brought another beer, even though he's serving every table, noticed no napkin, brought another, delivered extra parmesan. As I queued up to pay my bill, as been solo, he jumped on, and sorted it. This place is fantastic, please try it.

We reckon that it is 15 years since we last dined here, and thought that we would return. In a good way, very little has changed, and entering felt like pulling on a comfortable and much loved jumper. Service was prompt, and professional - our server made a point of asking about any intolerances or allergies. My starter of Tomato Garlic Bread was a meal on its own, perfect. Unfortunately my wifes Squid was overdone, although she did say that the batter was excellent. Mains were faultless, I had a very large portion of Risotto, my wife enjoyed her Chicken in Peppercorn sauce. Very reasonably priced. It won’t be Fifteen years before we return.

Five stars for service and food tonight. Added bonus was happy hour deal on pasta and pizza. Super fast service and generous portions. Place was busy and a bit loud but didn’t detract from a great meal.

We called once again for my wife’s birthday and it was an amazing night. Fantastic food once again and brilliant food. Thank you to everyone for making it a special night. We will be back soon. Mr Taylor & family.

Pizza’s were delicious. Don’t go expecting a romantic dining experience, it is very busy and loud. Perfect place for families or friends.

Went for a “large” family meal (23 of us!!), so we basically took over a section of the restaurant. Food was very good. Restaurant was very busy and this reflected in the service time. The queue for the bar was very long as this is also the reception area. That said we had a good time and the pizzas were excellent.

Took our little family back here on a recent visit to Scarborough. When we lived in Scarborough it was always a fave of ours and we wanted to take our kids. We were so happy that we found that the food was still amazing (the BEST garlic bread I've ever had. It doesn't look as good as it is quite oily-looking but I can promise it is amazing), the service was still friendly, attentive and polite. All this in a bustling environment. Very family friendly and still maintaining fair prices. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will happily return regularly over the years.

From walking in to leaving our whole experience was fabulous. Even though it was very busy (as they'd just opened) we never waited too long for anything. Will definitely be visiting again, next time we're in Scarborough.

Wonderful place to visit as a family as very child friendly. We were made to feel very welcome and ordering for vegans was no problem at all. We had a great value and stress free meal. Thank you to all at Florio's especially our waiter ( he wears a cap)

We go to Florios regularly for family get-togethers and also when there is just the two of us. It is nearly always busy but the serving staff are so good you don’t have to wait long. The meals are always very good and most dishes are not expensive. They have some specialized dishes that are more expensive but worth their price for those who require them. Highly recommend this restaurant.

I was brought up in Scarborough and have always come to Florios for any special occasion as we have loved the food here so much. I have since moved away with my husband and we visit Scarborough often with family being here. We decided to book a meal with our 2 children for a well anticipated visit after at least 12 years! I must say I was utterly blown away, Florios is as good as ever. It hasn’t changed and that’s just why I love coming here so much. We ordered mussels and calamari - just stunning and fresh. Pizza, chips and pasta - beautiful. 🍕 👌 to finish the children had chocolate fudge cakes and they were divine. Thank You for an amazing dining experience, we will continue recommending Florios to our friends in West Yorkshire who visit Scarborough!!

The service was very efficient, organised and friendly, "the food was superb" and the place was beautiful and clean. I will definitely be back.

Well having arrived late afternoon and slightly hungry we went for a walk to find somewhere to eat. What an unexpected little gem of a restaurant, we decided yes. Don’t judge a Book by its cover! Wow greeted by lovely staff who showed us to our table. Very attentive to the Grandchildren and drinks were brought to the table quickly. Smaller portions for the children perfect and ‘nothing’ left of their meals. In fact nothing was left from the whole meal. Portions perfect so you are not over faced and the meals were Hot. A good selection to choose from the menu. By the time our little family left,the restaurant was full! Would we go again most certainly and recommend to family and friends. Thank you

My mum loves florios but having just been given a terminal cancer diagnosis and not been well at all I thought id order one to take home for her. Was kindly given it for free with some little bread buns .. such a lovely kind gesture … she was over the moon xx

It’s a bit strange when it takes two goes to make a pizza that’s not soggy!! First one sent back and the second no better. The owner insisted he could make the next one better but would you hang around for that when you partner has eaten their meal!!! I would have put a zero but trip advisor doesn’t allow for zero score!!!!

Always excellent service and amazing tasty food, really good prices and always good for eating in or takeaway, it's a busy restaurant so if you don't like noise it's not for you, but we have been going since the day it opened and will continue to do so thank you to all the staff you graft so hard and we appreciate it everytime

Florios is a really good family friendly restaurant. The food is of high quality and authentic, as well as being good value for money. The staff are also really attentive and friendly.

Cannot fault the food or the price. Went in a group of 7… It is a very small place so felt very cramped and not really able to move. Elbows in for sure! We were missing half of our food and had to flag this with 3 members of staff before it got sorted so that was a let down. There must of been at least 12 birthday’s in the 1.5hrs we were there it was crazy. Clearly a very popular place. Marked down due to missing half our order and staff not attentive.

Another excellent meal at Florios. The service was very good and the food was excellent. Without doubt the best and cheapest Italian restaurant in Scarborough.

Fabulous place amazing atmosphere

I and many others use this restaurant on a recurring basis. Reasons why are plentifull supply of well crafted food at an affordable price. We are not local to the area and on 2 occasions have travelled over 40 miles to use the restaurant. It does get very busy though and can be noisy. The service is excellent at all times. Remember to book in advance as it does get very busy.

Had a the inferno pizza. It was aight. Wasn't that spicy which is a shame Absolutely come here during happy hour when you can get a main for less than £9

Really enjoyed our meal here on a midweek break, top class service, great food and a really nice atmosphere. We live near Chester and the value for money here was exceptional.

The pasta I had the pleasure of consuming was of exceptional quality, surpassing any previous pasta experiences. The pizza, when fresh, is also quite delectable. Patrons have the option of dining in or taking their meals away. All ingredients utilized are fresh. I wholeheartedly endorse this establishment for romantic dates or family dinners. Although the official opening time is 4:30 pm, customers are permitted to wait inside prior to the opening. We arrived at 4:05 pm and were graciously allowed to wait inside. Takeaway orders can be placed at the bar, where customers can comfortably wait for their meals to be prepared. The scampi was exceptionally fresh and flavorful, accompanied by a crisp and refreshing salad. However, the highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the chips and cheese, which were truly the best in town.

Another great meal at Florios. Celebrating the birthday of our granddaughter Bella. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the service was outstanding.

A great little hidden gem in the centre of scarborough. Great Italian cuisine which is not only delicious but great value for money. They do a happy hour (best to check the times on their website). The service is pretty quick and the portions are generous. Great atmosphere and it's always been very busy which is a great sign. Been there a few times and they never disappoint. The pizzas are great and authentic and plenty of choices on the menu. Lots of great starters which can be shared.

This place has been part of our family for years visits as teenagers now with kids etc always great food and fab value. Met school friends recently … amazing garlic bread as ever but the rest was awful .., literally tasteless soggy pizza and the most 1980 s side salad no dressing and basic. Seems standards have slipped or have we all got used to more ??

Loved the atmosphere, the food and the service. The food portions are amazing and more than sufficient for two people. Taste was authentic. The garlic bread and pizza was 14 inch (sufficient for 2-3 people). All the items are quite reasonably priced and mostly under £10. The staff was helpful, considerate and friendly. The vibe and Italian music was pleasing. The cherry on the top was they served us with nice scoop of vanilla icecream and firestick and with background music playing happy birthday! The experience was delightful. Will definitely visit again.

Brilliantly as always. Love the garlic bread and galic mushrooms for starters. The fillet steak off the specials menu cooked to perfection. Aleays great griendly service.

A busy place even this early in the year so you need to book. The staff were brilliant. The mussels out of shell as a starter were brilliant and plentiful. The Calzone was disappointing and the sauce with it like bought tomato soup. The cannelloni was fulll of meat and again plenty of it.

Wonderful authentic Italian restaurant

The restaurant was warm & inviting as usual. Plenty of staff all friendly & helpful. Was so busy was difficult to get through to our table & we were a bit hemmed in but the food was fantastic & the happy hour great value. Had a starter & a main & couldn’t fault either.

Another excellent meal at our favourite restaurant and probably the best Italian restaurant in Scarborough. Service very good and the food was excellent. Without doubt the cheapest Italian in Scarborough but it is still our favourite restaurant.

First time here and was impressed with everything here. Food was amazing, service was excellent. Unfortunately for me I live in essex so this isn't my local pizzeria but when I'm next in Scarborough I will be sure to pop in.

It was not very good. We felt the food was just rushed through without much care or concern. Red wine which smelt of Vinegar. Awful horrible Cannelloni, like soup. Garlic bread uninspiring, try putting on some garlic and actually cooking it! Basic stuuf not done very well. Godd staff and service was the only plus here. Will not be back anytime soon. There are much better place in Scarborough.

Amazing food always and friendly staff who are more than accommodating.

I've visited Florio's, about 4 times this year, each time the food and service is second to none. I was supposed to be meeting people, but ended up eating on my own. The service, in such a busy place, is second to no one. The pizza totally delicious. The young Italian waiter is full of humour and looked after me from start to finish. A credit to his employer. As I paid my bill the young waiter handed me a boxed Italian panettone cake, saying it's a gift to our regulars. I explained although I enjoy Florio's, I am limited to how often I go. He politely replied, we recognise you sir. I can't fault this place, for a starter, main course, and 2 beers, £25. Thank you.

The menu is wide ranging and lots of familiar dishes on it. The food wasn’t for me. It was from a different era of Italian food in the U.K. circa late 80s/early 90s. My pizza was very cheesey to the point that it drowned out other ingredients and had a film of oil in the middle which made the base soft. My eating companions had risotto and that seemed better but again very rich. On the plus side atmosphere good and service good.

Excellent meal at our favourite restaurant and probably the best Italian restaurant in Scarborough. Service very good and all the family enjoyed their meals. Highlight of Florios dining is always the starters garlic bread. The favourite is the tomato one but cheese is nearly as good. We usually have two of each when there are over 7/8 family members.

Walked in and managed to get a table within 10 mins at about 7.45 on Friday night. Staff were welcoming. Food was beautiful and arrived in good time. Atmosphere was warm. The price of everything was very reasonable. Would defo return and recommend.

A lovely place to eat and the tomato garlic bread lived up to expectations. Just a shame they didn’t have a beer on draught.

I visited with some friends at happy hour so very reasonably priced menu. The restaurant was packed with a buzzing atmosphere. The food is simple authentic Italian that packs taste. Thoroughly recommend the garlic bread with tomato - delicious!

I have been coming here since they opened but this visit was the first this year. Group of 6 adults one child. Seated quite quickly considering they were very busy. Expected lengthy wait for drinks and order. Very noisy and lively atmosphere. I ordered a steak for my main. I also order a sauce with it for which of course I expected to pay extra. But I asked for my sauce separate and was told there would be an extra charge for this. I sought clarification. The way it is charged is either steak and sauce together or a steak and sauce separate which is 4.50 more. I said I wanted to order a steak and sauce but did not want my sauce over the steak. I was told this can not be done unless it is charged separately and I pay extra. I have never heard anything like this in my life. So I spoke to the owner about it and he said I could have it as a steak and sauce but served separate. Back to the food. Garlic bread special with tomato, chilli and blue cheese was good. Scampi and garlic mushrooms were also enjoyed. Mains, two Sirloin steaks were cooked as we wanted served with chips and salad, separate at no extra cost. Three of us had pasta dishes. It was evident from these that corners are being cut to save money. The fusilli pollo was so dry, lacking in both sauce and flavour. Penne salmon was also dry with tiny little flecks of salmon. Chicken skewer came with chips instead of rice. This was changed but for some inexplicable reason they had dumped a load of tomato sauce over the rice. This was not touched and at not one point did any server ask if it was ok. Drinks were never offered so had to go back to the bar and reorder. When they came one was forgotten. i also asked for a Grappa but had to spell it to the server as they had never heard of it. Why do they not know what they have ? Total bill was 175. I left no tip. I found service poor and non- attentive with a smattering of rudeness (steak and sauce), ignorance and forgetfulness. The food was good in places and poor in others. There are many Italian restaurants in town and Florios was always my choice for good food in a friendly atmosphere. Not any more. The quality of food has deteriorated, in my opinion to make the money go further, but I think this will just drive customers away. I will not be back of my own volition. EDIT : The owner contacted me on Facebook messenger. He made no apology for anything but just said I should not have said what I said publicly and that I never said I got a free Grappa. I did, when I paid. He said his staff had moved the tables for me due to my disability, yet then criticised me for being ABLE to get up and down the stairs. This ableist attitude truly shocked me especially when one considers there is no provision at all for disabled customers. Nothing. I thanked him for his reply and blocked him. I then got a message from the previous owner also haranguing me for daring to criticise. My original review is a copy of what I put on Trip advisor. The owner has re-posted and put on that I threatened him about the extra sauce charge. Utterly ridiculous and he has then gone on to divulge personal details. I have tried to contact TA to have these remarks removed but had no luck. I cannot add these remarks to my TA review hence they are here. Slanderous and discriminatory behaviour. Avoid

We visited here recently having been recommended during a trip to Scarborough. The place looks great and was busy. We arrived at around 7:30 and by 8:30 it had cleared out somewhat. We all ordered pizza and having travelled across Italy this was far from authentic. The cheese was a mixture of mozzarella and cheddar, far from authentic. However, the dough was nice. The staff were very friendly and the price point wasn't too bad.

We had the best waiter he was funny, kind and had a big smile.

The food was amazing, we had garlic bread and a pizza and it was very delicious with a lot of cheese and toppings! The starters and the main dish came at the same time which wasn't exactly what you're hoping for. Good experience overall though.

Absolutely disgusting food, restaurant using pre packed ham from supermarket on pizzas, undercooked king prawns and poor table service. Worst place to eat I've ever been. After complaining about the quality of food the staff pulling faces and complaining.

We booked a table on a Saturday night at our regular Italian restaurant. It was heaving as always but there are plenty of great staff who worked very hard to please. We had a wonderful meal and we all left happy and stuffed! After many years of going to Florios you get used to the noise. Everyone enjoys themselves, the food is not expensive and everyone has a happy time with many birthday celebrations. We regularly take our grandchildren and parents to celebrate a birthday.

We were recommended here by Touslon Court & we were not disappointed, will definitely go again when in Scarborough

Lovely, family run Pizzeria in Scarborough town centre. Away from the lights and noise of the seafront, we had a great, family meal here.

Loved everything about Florios. The food was delicious, everything was flavourful and beautifully presented. Staff were attentive and the service was excellent. A tasty treat to eat there and we're looking forward to our next visit.

Went out for a birthday meal and the pizza was really greasey with the toppings falling off - and gave my partner a really bad stomach ache and the pasta tasting bland as hell. Don’t think I’ll be going back again any time soon

If you don't order the tomato garlic bread, you've made a mistake. Delicious food, great for dinner with friends. Perhaps not the best location for a date as beware that 'Happy Birthday' is sung about every 20 minutes due to it being a popular place for birthdays meals.

The alcoholic drinks were watered down. I was with a group and we agreed that certain dishes were bland and none of us ate more than half. The menu was in such a small font that I had to have it read to me by a friend. Certainly, I will not be going back. It was too warm and too loud additionaly the pizzas were not cut properly. Very inaccessible stairs down to get into the restaurant and stairs to get to the toilets. Disappointing. Don't id people for drinking, website isn't working and they can't be bothered to respond to reviews.
