The best restaurants in Streonshalh Scarborough Yorkshire and The Humber

Walked in and the woman behind the counter was just plain rude so we left So much for Yorkshire hospitality Can’t see this surviving if that’s the approach they take with visitors

Albert’s became a family favourite after our last visit in 2021 - a fantastic location offering a wonderful choice of seafood, served professionally and with a touch of sophistication. In 2023 we had family from USA and Australia visiting, so on a trip to Whitby we booked Albert’s as a way of showcasing the ‘Best of British’ - unfortunately in the intervening period, the standard has dropped significantly. Menu choices were limited (the seafood platters we were expecting weren’t available) and whilst the service was friendly, it felt overall like we were eating at a slightly upmarket cafe - such a waste of the wonderful location. Hopefully the people running Albert’s can recruit well and get the kitchen back to where it used to be, and a bit of training for front of house to bring back the special feel that it we experienced on our earlier visit.

We returned here for a sixth year in a row and weren’t disappointed. Would definitely recommend to others - food is delicious with a varied menu and lots of vegetarian options. Food is some of the best in Whitby. Thank you!

Nos recomendaron a Pizza West por nuestra hija que ha estado un par de veces. Mi esposa tenía gambas reales con espagueti y yo tenía un hongo, jamón, etc pizza + una copa de vino. Había un gran bullicio en el lugar con un montón de gente obviamente disfrutando. El personal era genial, explicando y preguntas claramente. Muy bueno, no podía fallar y muy recomendable.

Visitamos dos veces durante 2 días durante un fin de semana con amigos en Whitby. El Black Horse marcó todas las cajas - el personal era amable y servicial, la comida era excelente - probamos una serie de platos, todos geniales. Las bebidas eran una fantástica selección de cerveza local, viejas favoritas y una sólida variedad de productos básicos. Si quieres ver un pub de Yorkshire bueno, anticuado y acogedor, con excelente comida fresca y casera, este es el lugar para ti!

Llamé para un café y bollos hoy. Genial encontrar esta joyita. Es difícil encontrar café decente, pero este lugar lo tiene. No muy grande, así que puede que tengas que esperar una mesa. El servicio y la comida se notan, pero no se lo digas a nadie más.

Decepcionado no hay muchas opciones en pasteles. Nada parecía atractivo, así que solo tomé té. Sin ambiente. Arriba, así que no es adecuado para cualquier persona con problemas de movilidad. Las escaleras son negras y necesitan bordes de color / peligro. Iba a reservar el té de la tarde tan contento de que no lo hicimos. Lo siento, pero no creo que vuelva.

£2.60 for one very small scoop of ice cream that looked completely lost in the tub.......absolute rip off. No wonder the lady serving asked me if I wanted w scoops for £4.50 (I think). Everywhere else you go to they put a bit more in the tub or even fill it especially because you aren't having the cone but not here. Certainly not value for money.

Personal amable, vistas preciosas y disfruto ir a tomar algo con mi amigo al club cuando visitamos Whitby. Un ambiente agradable y disfruta viendo al equipo en la regata.

Pasamos un fin de semana en Whitby y reservamos este restaurante con antelación. ¡Omg, qué puedo decir! El ambiente y la decoración era precioso, la comida era increíble y el personal era muy amable y servicial. Sin duda recomendaría a cualquiera, no te decepcionará

Lovely for a hearty breakfast. Great range of options, and what we had was tasty, hot and freshly made. We also came home with some cakes because they looked too good to pass on! Altogether a great little spot with delicious food and excellent, friendly service.

Good range of drinks available clean venue Pasty's and sandwiches available.

Best take away chippy you will ever visit along the north east coast. Beats ever other chippy in Whitby! I know because I've tried them all! Consistantly generous portions of fish, perfectly cooked and coated with crispy batter... yum! Well done Railway Chippy!

A nice break from the busy streets of Whitby, lovely drinks.

Lovely local, very relaxing and 1st class barmaid. Gave me a glass after a discussion on it's origin. Will toast her and your bar with a tia maria on New Years Eve.
