What an excellent little pub! Very friendly to a visitor. Sports on TVs. Comfortable and relaxed. Perfect boozer from my point of view.

Nice old style pub. My only regret is that they stopped selling Camerons Strongarm a few years ago😪

Great pub with a chippy literally opposite.

A nice little pub where customers and bar staff are friendly. Welcomes visitors who are staying locally in holiday homes.

Went in here a couple of times when we visited for the week. It was generally quiet and it is a bit off the beaten track in a housing estate, but it's ideal if you're staying in the area as we were. Reasonably priced and friendly staff. They also play excellent music here, if you're into that.

Great little pub that's off the beaten track. Great selection of beers. Staff always friendly and greet you with a smile. Always try to nip in for at least one or two whenever I'm in Whitby

Great little pub, worth a visit.

We visited with our two greyhounds during the first week in June. It's a lovely pub with excellent bar staff. The prices were very reasonable too. We will certainly be back next time we are in Whitby.

Great find, off the beaten track. When I visited on Sunday 24 sep there were only five other people in. Friendly staff, comfy seats, great prices and no tourists. I had four pints and by the time I left one half of the pub was full of adults, kids and dogs. Will call again the next time I’m in Whitby, worth a visit.

Aint what it used to be , one of the most expensive beers in whitby (greedy brewery)

Its just a pub . But the landlady is very helpfull and welcoming . Its a welcome stop on a very steep hill .

Proper local pub this. But dont let this put you off. Very friendly senisble prices. Chip shop just over the road. Small outside area drinking area. On the way to the town centre. Give it a go.

Nice little 'local'. Walk to it and never try to park within a 5 street radius. It is is a small enclave of Victorian terraces streets.

Beer tasted like the pipes needs cleaning and the toilets were so badly lit you could easily fall over the step in to the toilet

A very pleasant pub. Good selection of keg beers and spirits. A shame no cask ale available when I visited. I would have loved to give this 4 stars but the volume of the music was just too much when we visited... A handful of patrons in, so just a touch lower and we could have still heard ourselves. I don't get the need for that many TVs but at least no one can say they can't see one. The atmosphere on a sunny Sunday evening was pleasant despite the small number of customers. If you are looking for a local pub without the tourist day, then this is the one.

Beer at 4.10 a pint **** definitely first time and last

Not good. Last year this was a nice pub. We walked up at 12:30pm, Monday lunch, as did others, it was CLOSED. Others were standing about looking, no signs up. Went back a few days later, they NO longer serve real ale. Waste of time walking up a steep road for nothing. Give it a miss.

Not bad pricing. They also if your good they let you eat fish n chips inside. Lush.

This is a gem of a pub.... the pub itself is cosy ,clean and has a good atmoshere with the added bonus of music videos for you listen to and being able to eat fish and chips from the chippy from over the road while having a drink or two . Bar staff are very freindly and the toilets are spotless . Well worth popping in when visiting whitby .

nice decor and building. but whoever was on bar let the place down as being a barman myself it was as though he wasn't bothered.

Excellent small pub on backstreets of whitby. Good to get fish and chips from across the road and eat with a pint in the beer garden.
