Well. I'm 62 years old and been eating bacon sandwiches all my life. I have got to say that the Bacon and black pudding sandwich I had at this lovely little cafe was the best I have EVER had!! Ok it was £8 but the home made bread,3 rashers of dry cured back bacon and a nice slice of Doreen's black pudding was marvellous. My wife also had the most amazing gluten free chocolate torte. Staff were also very attentive and friendly. Will definitely be going back very soon .

The Lion Inn at Blakey Ridge is an absolute gem, offering a warm welcome, stunning views, and top-notch food in a truly unique setting. Nestled high on the North York Moors, this historic inn provides breathtaking scenery that adds to the charm of the experience. Whether visiting for a hearty meal, a drink by the fire, or an overnight stay, it never disappoints. The atmosphere is everything you’d want from a traditional country pub—cosy, inviting, and full of character. The roaring fire creates the perfect setting in colder months, while the outdoor seating area is ideal for enjoying the spectacular views on a sunny day. The staff are friendly, attentive, and always go the extra mile to make you feel at home. The food is outstanding, with generous portions and a great selection of home-cooked classics. The steak and ale pie is a must-try, packed with flavour and served with perfectly crisp chips. The Sunday roasts are equally impressive, offering tender meats and all the trimmings. A great selection of ales complements the menu perfectly. Whether you’re a walker, biker, or just passing through, The Lion Inn is a must-visit. It’s a truly special place, and I can’t wait to return!

The staff are very friendly. You are greeted nicley and spoken to with interest. Free WiFi (code behind the bar) and a good selection of AF beers, including the rare "Nowt Peculiar" which is a crackinh pint. The specials were varied and i was a bit spoilt for choice, wiht the yorkshire puddings and gravy calling me. However, the soup (cauliflower, Stilton and broccoli) was great - thick and hot. I was really after the jam roly poly and custard, which was really nice. Dogs allowed in the bar, card payments taken, warm and comfortable.

Stayed overnight in motorhome very traditional English pub with no nonsense menu. I have to recommend the burger with its onion jam relish which took it to another level and the chips are fantastic. The host Jake is a very friendly and jovial as are is staff. We will be coming back soon.

Stopped for drinks with 8 friends (4couples) and enjoyed some great hospitality. Very pleasant and well-organised young bar lady who is a real asset to the pub. Great selection of ales including Theakston’s Best as well as a few others. Very friendly locals and loads of dogs in the bar which was great. Open fire going nicely and a really welcoming pub. The specials menu alone looked fantastic- so much so that we’re coming back next week when we’re in the area again. Great pub - not far off the main road and definitely worth seeking out.

The place to start with was really nice friendly welcoming until it got to about 8-9pm and it went downhill so fast. We had our baby with us and he was crying about 10pm because he was going to bed and our neighbour came round a started shouting and swearing in my face. It was rude and disrespectful because my baby could hear it. Then I saw a mark on the wall so I went round the family room may I add and that’s when I was ready to leave. There was marks on the walls, floor, roof and on the beds which was just disgusting. I was then laying in the bed and felt a bit on my leg I looked down to see about 8 bite marks all in the same place which made it even worse to say we had our baby with us. They had the audacity to complain about a baby crying even tho it was a family room and they saw we had a baby with us. The location and views are beautiful but I will never be staying here again and what I have been through tonight.
