Great coffee and great food. Always pop in here when I am in the village. Great selection of food and cakes. Lots to chooses from and fresh bread to takeaway. Sarah's cakes are to die for.

We were passing and only called because I needed the loo and also wanted some water to take some medication! Despite not wanting to buy any food or drink, I was seduced by the lovely array of bakery items and came out with a warm Cornish pasty, which was absolutely delicious, and a cup of coffee. Because the owner, Sarah (I think), had been so helpful and accommodating, and because the Cornish pasty had been so tasty, we returned the following day for a Cornish pasty, as we’d missed lunch. On that occasion, it was late in the day and, as we were leaving, Sarah generously handed us two complimentary croissants! A lot of the baked goods here are homemade and so fresh but the cheese scones are particularly gorgeous and worthy of mention. We called on a third occasion, for scones and drinks. Again, it was approaching the end of the day and, as we left, Sarah gave us two breakfast scones of cheese and bacon which we ate that evening. Thank you - they were absolutely delicious and full of flavour, although not brilliant for the waistline! Notwithstanding the complimentary goodies, there’s a good menu choice, prices are very reasonable and quality is high. This place really is worth a visit for baked goods, plus there’s a small area that serves as a gift shop where my friend bought a couple of things for presents. I can’t recommend Sarah and her bakery / deli highly enough. Once I’ve shed a few pounds, we’ll be back!

Ended up in Hutton le hole as part of our 'drive it day' with our car club. Found this little gem on a walk round and fancied a spot of lunch. We both had ham & cheese panini, delicious, coffee was very hot and tasty, also tried the fruit scones with butter, again totally fresh and delicious. They sell local food and I bought a loaf of wholemeal bread, haven't tried it yet, but feels fresh, we'll look forward to having that tomorrow. Brilliant little place and will go back if in the area again

Tried out this lovely cafe. Really nice menu and delicious food. Lovely to have a small gift/shop section where I purchased some unique birthday cards. Would definitely visit again

We stayed for bed and breakfast here. The house is in a beautiful peaceful setting overlooking meadows. Hosts very friendly. Comfortable bedroom. The TV reception is scrambled and there is no phone signal - so I would recommend enabling WiFi calling on your phone and bring a book 😃

Oh no!! No full English breakfast any more. I don't know the reason why you have stopped serving this but I think it's a big mistake. Shame really as we have always enjoyed our breakfasts here and now have to find somewhere else to go

We chose the Middleton arms after seeing pictures of the gammon steak on Facebook, unfortunately this was sold out on the evening we went along with a few other dishes on the menu. I ordered the potato skins starter which came as a large portion which I enjoyed followed by Whitby scampi, this was average with frozen scampi. My wife had garlic mushrooms for starter which was okay, for main she had steak pie which she said was very nice.

Having been to the Stapleton Arms at Wass on many occasions and even been shown the bedrooms, 4 of us booked B&B and evening meals. I booked online 2 rooms. The 'Superior' room £150 per night and the other £100. However, we were not aware the venue had changed hands but it almost immediately became apparent. The stairs leading to the bedrooms looked very tierd and unhoovered. The landing and our bedroom stank of burnt fat and the rooms were very basic and on opening the wardrobe I found empty drink bottles. The door to the shower had black rising up it and the shower just ran like a tap.. Our meal was fine and our friends ordered a bottle of champagne which cost £70 which we were happy to pay but when the bill for the meal arrived it was altogether £340. They had even charged extra for a blob of icecream on my pudding as they said icecream was an extra. Next morning we met at breakfast only to discover that our friend staying in the 'Superior' room, one of whom is very seriously ill and this was supposed to be a treat during a break from treatment, found the shower was not working and they couldn't find a shaving ;point. Just to add insult to injury one of our party ordered a poached egg and when it arrived the toast was burnt black on the underside and my bacon was floating in fat. Had it not been for the fact that one of our party was very ill and we didn't want to make a fuss we paid up the bill and left. Not once did the manager ask us if everything was o.k. He was totally uninterested. What a nightmare stay. Never again, The next morning I phoned to speak to the owner but she was not at work but would ring me on the Thursday of that week. She never rang. I rang back a week later and was told the owner had been given my complaint and she would ring me but another weerk later I have received no response. I suppose she is £600 better off and we will never grace their doors again.
