Myself and my boyfriend are holidaying in Pickering and came across this little dog friendly cafe in the town, we were welcomed with our little dog by the very friendly staff . We only had a pot of tea and Rocky road but it was really lovely! I would highly recommended visiting this cafe if you’re in the area.

The service here was absolutely amazing. I mentioned I have an allergy and the staff went above and beyond to take care of me and talk me through what I could have from the menu. They were super friendly and helpful and the food was delicious (we had a sandwich, panini, cheesecake and carrot cake). Looking forward to returning on our next visit to Pickering. The cafe also has a really cosy warm vibe

This charming café is nestled in the heart of the bustling market town of Pickering. My family and I have had the pleasure of dining at Nosh numerous times over the past few years, and without fail, we are greeted with a warm welcome at this family-operated gem. Our first encounter with Nosh was on a lazy Sunday when we were in search of a light bite. Most dining establishments in the area typically offer a separate menu on Sundays, focusing on the traditional roast dinner. To our delight, Nosh not only opened its doors on Sundays but also continued to serve its regular menu, featuring an array of sandwiches, salads, soups, and delectable cakes. More recently, my husband needed to adhere to a gluten-free diet, and we were thrilled to discover that Nosh was more than capable of accommodating this dietary requirement. The staff members demonstrated an excellent understanding of dietary restrictions and cross-contamination risks, putting our minds at ease. Beyond offering gluten-free sandwiches and toasties, the accommodating team was willing to modify any menu item to suit specific dietary needs. Notably, the variety of gluten-free options in the cake section truly stood out. Each delectable cake is freshly prepared in their own kitchen, and on my last visit, I counted four different cake and treat options behind the counter. My husband was spoiled for choice and ultimately left with a delectable cake and a gluten-free scone. For individuals adhering to a gluten-free diet, stumbling upon a café that serves gluten-free scones is an absolute delight. Furthermore, Nosh extends its hospitality to both dogs and children, having welcomed both at different times. Additionally, their kids' menu is quite impressive. I cannot recommend Nosh highly enough – it undoubtedly ranks as the premier café in Pickering.

This lovely café is located in the center of the market town of Pickering. We have eaten at Nosh many times over the past few years, and we always receive a warm welcome at this family-run café. I think we first came across Nosh when we were looking for a light snack on a Sunday; most cafés, restaurants, and pubs around Pickering have a separate menu on Sunday that focuses on the traditional roast dinner, so we were delighted to find Nosh not only open on a Sunday but still serving its regular menu of Sandwiches, Salads, Soup, and cakes, etc. More recently, my husband has had to adopt a gluten-free diet, and we were so pleased to see Nosh could accommodate this easily. The staff had an excellent understanding of dietary requirements and the risk of cross-contamination, and we had no concerns. As well as offering Gluten-free sandwiches, toasties, etc, the team is happy to adapt anything on the menu to accommodate dietary requirements. Perhaps the best thing about Nosh’s gluten-free offerings is the options in the cake department. All are made fresh in their own kitchen. I think I counted four different cake / treat options behind the counter today. My husband was so spoilt for choice that he came away with a cake and a scone. Now, if you are GF, you will know that finding a café with GF scones is an absolute bonus. Nosh is also dog—and child-friendly ( we have visited with both at different times). Both are made to feel welcome, and there is also a good kids' menu. Thorough recommend Nosh – it is easily the best café in Pickering

The best place for food, coffee, cake and ice cream in Pickering. I have coeliac disease and they really known their stuff when it comes to the content of their food and mitigating Cross contamination. And the whole team is lovely. My Italian chicken toasted sandwich (a clever adaptation from a normal panini), flat white and gf stem ginger flapjack were top notch. Thanks for a lovely meal and service. Stopped in for lunch and found a menu with a varied selection. All made with locally sourced produce. Our pennines were beautifully prepared and presented. They were fabulous, and there was no skimping on the fillings. Finished off with a slice of pear and ginger cheese cake that was out of this world. All is made to order and the cakes made in house. To top it all the staff were fantastic who recommended the scone for our next visit so we took a couple home. They were not disappointingly.

We've eaten here many times before, en route to the North Yorkshire Moors. Today, there was a short queue outside so we joined it. The two women in front of us were greeted with a smile and ushered inside. We were told 'we're all full now' so asked how long we'd need to wait to be just told 'no' so obviously, at 12.30pm, they were 'full' for the rest of the day. They clearly didn't want us to eat there, probably because we weren't local. Rude.

Visited here Friday and wow! Service was second to none, seated with no problem even though it was busy. We visited for breakfast, menu was very extensive. They have a wide variety of food that caters for a lot of dietary requirements. We ordered their veggie sausage, egg and cheese muffins and their bacon, egg and cheese muffin. You can “upgrade” to have tiny hash brown tots - they come in spicy, cheesy or plain. Super crispy and fluffy. The muffins were super tasty and flavourful. The amount of toppings you get is definitely worth the price you pay! If you’re in pickering definitely pop in and it’s so worth it.

Very busy , very small cafe . Can hardly move inside.so we sat outside . Ordered drinks cake and cheese scone . Hot chocolate was beautiful. Caramel & ginger cake was nice, but stodgy but still nice with big chunks of ginger in. The only disappointing part was the cheese scone , it came out warmed up ? I didn’t ask for it warm as I prefer cold . The only reason I can think of why they do this is to freshen them back up when there going stale . So was bit disappointed on that front .

We were attending a football match in the town and this place came up as a recommendation, with cheese scones as the pièce de resistance. They weren’t wrong - the cheese scone was the best I’ve had since my Mum’s (sorry, but you were on a hiding to nothing up against her!). The food was superb, but that’s only half the story. A quirky building, with really friendly people made the all too brief stay exceptional. If you get a chance, go there - you won’t be disappointed!

Visited while staying in Pickering; there were probably four or five bakers and or coffee shops which did nice looking cake in the main part of the turn, but Nosh was the best of these. My first encounter was for brunch, in which we ordered a kids toastie or sandwich, which was nice and a good size portion; so much so that there was enough to have a bit off after they had finished. We ordered a four cheese toastie, which was very pleasant; and a cheesecake, which was a generous size and very tasty. This was all reasonably priced, which made for a nice experience. The staff were great too. After trying a few other cake shops I decided to stop here in the morning before driving home, and got a large chunk of brownie for a good price which kept two of us going for a few hours. I would highly recommend nosh if you're nearby!

Having been to the Stapleton Arms at Wass on many occasions and even been shown the bedrooms, 4 of us booked B&B and evening meals. I booked online 2 rooms. The 'Superior' room £150 per night and the other £100. However, we were not aware the venue had changed hands but it almost immediately became apparent. The stairs leading to the bedrooms looked very tierd and unhoovered. The landing and our bedroom stank of burnt fat and the rooms were very basic and on opening the wardrobe I found empty drink bottles. The door to the shower had black rising up it and the shower just ran like a tap.. Our meal was fine and our friends ordered a bottle of champagne which cost £70 which we were happy to pay but when the bill for the meal arrived it was altogether £340. They had even charged extra for a blob of icecream on my pudding as they said icecream was an extra. Next morning we met at breakfast only to discover that our friend staying in the 'Superior' room, one of whom is very seriously ill and this was supposed to be a treat during a break from treatment, found the shower was not working and they couldn't find a shaving ;point. Just to add insult to injury one of our party ordered a poached egg and when it arrived the toast was burnt black on the underside and my bacon was floating in fat. Had it not been for the fact that one of our party was very ill and we didn't want to make a fuss we paid up the bill and left. Not once did the manager ask us if everything was o.k. He was totally uninterested. What a nightmare stay. Never again, The next morning I phoned to speak to the owner but she was not at work but would ring me on the Thursday of that week. She never rang. I rang back a week later and was told the owner had been given my complaint and she would ring me but another weerk later I have received no response. I suppose she is £600 better off and we will never grace their doors again.

A small place but with a great amount of choice of food and drink. I always get the barbecue chicken and bacon panini because it’s extremely delicious. There’s a good amount of filling in the panini; it’s packed with barbecue flavoured chicken, bacon and cheese. I like the seating outside viewing the town.

We chose the Middleton arms after seeing pictures of the gammon steak on Facebook, unfortunately this was sold out on the evening we went along with a few other dishes on the menu. I ordered the potato skins starter which came as a large portion which I enjoyed followed by Whitby scampi, this was average with frozen scampi. My wife had garlic mushrooms for starter which was okay, for main she had steak pie which she said was very nice.

We stayed for bed and breakfast here. The house is in a beautiful peaceful setting overlooking meadows. Hosts very friendly. Comfortable bedroom. The TV reception is scrambled and there is no phone signal - so I would recommend enabling WiFi calling on your phone and bring a book 😃
