The best restaurants in Hambleton Yorkshire and The Humber

Good evening. Lovely bar meal very well presented. Hot choc fudge cake yum. Recommend this pub, under new management during covid. Under the current circumstances they need a lot of local support to give them a chance.

My family met at this cafe on Friday morning for brunch. There were six of us and the staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Will visit again when I return to Thirsk.

Arrived for Sunday lunch, all staff welcoming and attentive. The decor in the restaurant is beautiful and great views of the golf course and grounds. Very disappointed with the food, small portions and too many flavours going on. Trying to be something it’s not, just let excellent ingredients talk for themselves. Most disappointing the desserts, baked Alaska nothing like a baked Alaska. A very expensive meal in a nice setting but wouldn’t return. Shame as the hotel and staff great but let down by the food.

De todos los lugares de bocadillos Desi no tengo ni idea de por qué esto haría bien o se expandiría! La comida está por debajo de mediocre y los tés están mal hechos y todo se siente sobreprecio con respecto a las porciones, etc.

It’s okay, but there is a funny smell of wee - and I did notice a mattress up against the window. The drink was t bad mind, I had a draught lager and I had no complaints there

Popped in on a Tuesday night, it was quiet. Got served quickly and good value prices. Had music playing in the background.

A warm and friendly welcome, we enjoyed an excellent meal. We chose from the special menu, poppadoms & pickle, starter, main course and rice or naan. Well cooked, very tasty, generous portions and a very good price. We will return as overall a good experience.

The restaurant was spotless.Staff very friendly and helpful. Pot of tea and toasted teacake were served promptly. Would certainly recommend a visit when shopping in store

Awful food nothing tasted nice frozen veg dry meat peas still frozen cabbage not cooked everything was so bland and tasteless

MAY 2025 - CLOSED - AGAIN Once more what was the heart of Bedale closes; 3 Licensees in as many years?!?! A real shame as this pub has so much potential but it seems from what is being said locally that it’s just too expensive to run. It’s not for want of trying - the local landlords are doing their best to keep the pubs in Bedale going but they really need mid week support from locals; 3 pubs closed in six months should be a wake up call - ‘ if you don’t use it, you’ll lose it’! Fortunately two of these have since reopened - for now! It would be a brave person to take the Swan on now and someone with very deep pockets but fingers crossed a workable solution can be found 🍻

Had the most filling and delicious gluten free full English. I’d mention at booking that I was a coeliac and they got me gluten free sausages in specially which were really tasty. Outstanding Dudley

Gorgeous place to have a lovely lunch with friends or family. I met my friend there and had just had a nasty fall in another shop in Northallerton and I was limping, bruised with a sprained ankle and feeling sorry for myself. The staff were sooo helpful they allowed me to elevate my foot on a chair and also brought me a tea towel full of ice (without me even asking) to put on my ankle to help it. They also offered me a first aider to have a look at it. They were amazing honestly and kept checking in with us throughout the meal. The food was beautiful, cannot recommend this place enough. Would highly recommend 100% and customer service is off the scale.

3rd time I've ordered from here and everything they haven't delivered my food but confirmed the order and everything I order they are missing half the menu

I’ve been a loyal customer of The Famous Kwong Tung Chinese Takeaway for quite some time now, and they never fail to impress. This evening, I placed a large order consisting of six individual dishes, and once again, they delivered amazing meals. Every dish was packed with flavour, cooked to perfection, and as always, lived up to the high standard I’ve come to expect from them. The consistency in quality and taste is truly commendable, and it’s clear the team puts great care into every order. I’ve never had any issues, no matter the size of the order, and tonight was no exception. A huge thank you to The Famous Kwong Tung team for their fantastic service and incredible food. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a delicious and reliable Chinese takeaway. Keep up the great work!

Barkers cafe is a great place to eat out when shopping in Northallerton, the food range is really good from sandwiches to hot main meals. The price is Ok for an up-market cafe. always busy and a great stop to rest your feet. The toilets are clean and well cared for.
