Visited as a couple 7 March. We were staying in the hotel. Ambience was good. The eating area could perhaps do with a bit of updating but it is fine. Menu is a mix of pub classics and more adventurous dishes. I had one of the latter as a starter, Lamb Tagine Roll with harissa mayo and smoked aubergine purée. Very good. The roll had chunks of lamb and the mayo had a kick. Tasted and presented very well. I had steak and ale pie for main. Appeared home made with real chips. Again very good Mrs W had the pork belly which she enjoyed too. We had a very nice bottle of NZ Sav Blanc as well. Very good value.

We had lunch at this venue with a group of friends. After two very overpriced soft drinks we sat down to eat. After what seemed an age, the food came. To be fair I heard no complaints about the quality of the food but given the eye watering amounts we were being charged for simple pub lunch dishes, the portion size was tremendously disappointing, and for the record, neither I nor my wife are big eaters. On the plus side the ambiance in the restaurant was good and the fixures and fittings seemed clean , tidy and well maintained. However, producing small portions at high cost and providing slow service is not condusive to encouraging return visits. We will certainly not be returning!

Can’t fault the strawberry picking, but the cafe had ran out of all sorts by 2pm. Pizza’s totally overpriced for the size of them and took ages to be cooked. I appreciate the are cooked fresh on a pizza oven but waiting over half an hour with small, hungry children is not ideal. Ordered a ‘meat’ pizza which was in fact just pepperoni, why it isn’t just advertised as being pepperoni I have no idea. The pizza edges were burnt to a crisp (inedible) not the best experience overall won’t be in a rush to return.

I have eaten at Clark's for over 25 years but now I will never eat here again. I am sick to death of the staff being rude and lazy thus resulting in poor hygiene and poor food. I ordered a chicken tikka Jacket potato with salad. I was told they had no salad except cucumber and tomato. When I got into my vehicle and opened the box I had the smallest jacket potato ever that was so cold it hadn't even begun to melt the butter or cheese, 3 pieces of cucumber and a bit of soggy tomato. Disgusting! I went back in to get my money back and saw staff cutting up lettice. So clearly the woman who told me no salad couldn't be bothered to chop it. The staff are rude and snappy, it's a hassle to serve you. The whole place is grimy so Im not suprised by how low their hygiene rating is. I've also rung up to order food to collect and been told that they don't do that (an omlette) when I've been ordering it for the last few years. They just can't be bothered to do it. Avoid if you want nice food and nice service.

Came here after reading good reviews. Likely that we will not return. Portion sizes were good, seasonal veg overcooked and under seasoned broccoli and cabbage, no carrots? Steak pie and chips, although steak pieces were tender presentation is key, the pie and chips were laced with a bucket load of gravy. A small jug would have suffice, less is more. Pastry was rock hard. Steak and onion sandwich was very odd, I get some onion, but adding white, red and spring onion, I could still taste it 3 days later! Friendly staff. There are better places to eat.

On a whole the food was ok , quick , warm and reasonably priced. However we will not be returning for the attitude of the staff. The manner and tone of how the female staff talked about and to the delivery driver is disgusting. Shouting at him In front of customers for absolutely no reason and answering his polite questions with pure arrogance. In any workplace , if the roles were reversed, these people would be sacked for such verbal abuse. Driver needs a raise !

Good evening. Lovely bar meal very well presented. Hot choc fudge cake yum. Recommend this pub, under new management during covid. Under the current circumstances they need a lot of local support to give them a chance.

I came here with mam for a cuppa, though partly because another place up the street had closed - at half 2! This is a nice little place with disabled access and a mixed toilet, which I didn't have an issue with. They had just stopped serving food when we got there but we weren't hungry anyway after a cooked breakfast at Mainsgill on the A66.

Cosy and friendly little cafe attached to the Millbry Hill shop but with its own entrance looking out over the bridge and the River Leven in Stokesley. Would definitely recommend the cheese scones.

We were staying at Hunton on holiday and wanted a local cafe so that we didn’t have to drive too far, ‘The Nest’ did not disappoint. What an incredible location, really friendly staff and gorgeous scones. Given that my Mum made thousands of them when we had a restaurant (and hers were always delicious), she gave 10/10 for the cherry one and I’d give the same rating for my yummy cheese one. If you like scones, stunning views and cute animals, this is the place for you!
