Terrible food for the price, definitely avoid the pizzas as dough is hardly even cooked and tastes of nothing Parmos are edible but still wouldn’t return too greasy and no effort in the food Needs some attention to the quality of food, good service but was also hardly anyone there so cannot comment fairly.

Booked over the Easter weekend for lunch. Very friendly staff and great atmosphere. Main meal was good and excellent beer. But the size of the desert was a joke. We had Biscoff cheese cake which is our favourite. When it arrived we were so disappointed as it was only about a 2cm thick slice. We were so disappointed. Who would cut a slice of any cake that thinly and charge £8 each??? We booked early so they shouldn’t have been low on quantity. Such a shame as we hadn’t been here before and we are local but we will not be parting with our hard earned money here again.

Stopped for a small lunch as a family of 6. The male owner of the restaurant moved a paying customer who was half way through his sandwich off a table and asked him to sit on a chair and use the top of a fridge as his table - which was totally embarrassing for us.l and absolutely unacceptable to which other customers were commenting how shocked they were. Whilst ordering the poor girl serving was spoken to awfully by the same person. I presume she is used to it as she didnt seem to flinch much about it. Staff should not be spoken to in that manner. My son then chose to eat a sandwich from greggs instead as thats what he prefers and the male owner of the restaurant stormed over to our table and demanded he “gets his drinks and food off his table” which made him feel very uncomfortable. I understand if he was not happy for him to eat this in his shop however there is a way to go about letting people know your policy. My son and partner then had to go outside to eat in the freezing cold. Once eaten they came back in and the male I feel was keeping an eye out to make sure they didn’t take up the spare table next to us as they now were not paying customers even though we ordered 4 meals and 3 drinks. If we hadnt had already ordered and paid for the food I would have left and ate elsewhere. We will not be returning!

Pre-ordered over an hour before my requested delivery time and it was still over 30mins late and had obviously been rushed. I've never tasted such a bland Vermicelli with what was clearly torn up pieces of sliced ham from the local supermarket in it. Greasy, bland, zero spice. Never again!

Leyburn is a lovely place to visit, called in to Thomas the Baker for sandwiches for lunch, there was only one ham salad roll left so my husband politely asked if another one could be made up, the lady behind the counter said "NO" very abruptly and rudely, a little more politeness wouldn't come amiss!

The pub is very warm and welcoming and have a good selection of real ale and wines. Staff were friendly and attentive. We were a group of 8 who pre booked to eat and there was a wide selection of meals to choose from although the vegetarian Wellington had ran out which was a shame. If I was to be slightly picky I'd have to say the buttermilk chicken and the duck dishes were both a little over cooked ( a little dry) but still tasty.

I have just finished my third ever visit to this cafe. I have now been here for three consecutive Friday lunches. Thank goodness I didn’t consult Trip Advisor before coming otherwise I wouldn’t have bothered. Recent reviews aren’t good are they? My main observation is that recent reviews are also totally ridiculous. As you can see from my photos, the cheese and onion panini I ordered was packed with filling. The side salad is as fresh as can be and they even give you a few tortilla chips for good measure. The tea I ordered came with a full pot, and extra hot water - easily enough to make three strong cups of tea. The young ladies behind the counter have been friendly and polite on each occasion and the place is spotlessly clean. What more do some reviewers want? It’s a disgrace that a great local place like this gets maligned by fussy people who clearly have an agenda. Highly recommended
