Worst Parmo I’ve ever had. It was seriously bad. This place really shouldn’t even be selling Chicken Parmesan if they can’t make them properly. The chicken was about 3 mm thick and covered in a thin layer of cheese. I wouldn’t even consider it a real Parmo. don’t waste your money. Get a kebab instead . Such a waste of money. Ordered a hotshot but there was not a slice of pepperoni or jalapeño in sight. I could tell by the state of this horrendous thing I had ordered that it wasn’t going to get any better if I went back and complained so I just ate regardless. Such a disappointment.

Fantastic staff who went above and beyond! They ensured I had a delicious meal (coeliac) despite staff shortages, a busy cafe and a few delivery issues. I've eaten here often when walking in the area and have always loved it. The offer to open the farm shop so I could buy a few items was appreciated too. Would recommend.

We were recommended to stop off here by our hosts at our Airbnb when we left. As it was Sunday breakfast time we thought this might be nice. We definitely wasn’t disappointed! A lovely cafe set in pretty surroundings and friendly staff with gorgeous food. I had a “starter” breakfast (bacon, sausage, egg and tomato on sour dough toast with a pot of tea and my husband had a sausage sandwich with a fried egg and an americano coffee with hot milk. Both came freshly cooked and tasted delicious. We thought the prices were very reasonable and very friendly service. Such a gem of a cafe! Glad we came. My husband visited the toilets too and said they were extremely clean. I’d recommend this cafe highly if you’re in the area … we were staying in Carlton so very close by. Fab cafe!

What a great find! We arrived early and were warmly welcomed. Sitting in the sunshine enjoying their lovely range of cocktails was a lovely, relaxing way to start our overnight break. Our room (The Studio) was enormous and so tastefully styled. The (two!) bathrooms were huge and the bedroom with large sitting area was colourful, interesting and very comfortable with lots of little extras. The restaurant area is so cosy and inviting and the food was incredible! The menu and wine list are extensive and our seafood platter, chateaubriand was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious! Deserts were superb too and we couldn’t fault a single thing. The service was also top notch and all staff are very accommodating and friendly, There is a range of different rooms/lodges for various sized parties and we had a look at the new cabins (with hot tubs) which look really lovely! To summarise, if you like quality food and accommodation in beautiful setting, look no further, you won’t be disappointed. Thank you to all who clearly work so hard to make this such a success - we hope to return!

A Proper Gem in Thirsk The Parmesan House is hands down one of the best spots in town if you’re after a top-notch parmo. The chicken is perfectly cooked, crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside, with béchamel and cheese that are absolutely spot on. Rich, flavourful, and served piping hot, it’s comfort food done properly. The staff are friendly, efficient and genuinely welcoming. Service was quick and the portion sizes are generous without going overboard. The chips were golden and crispy, and the garlic dip deserves a special mention as absolutely delicious. Prices are fair for the quality and the whole place has a clean, no-nonsense vibe that lets the food speak for itself. Whether you’re a local or just passing through Thirsk, it is well worth a visit. A solid five star experience with no fuss, just great food.
