We only called in because every where was full, there was no latte coffee, the coffee I got was like dish water,I asked for it to be changed and got mud.we ordered soup and tea cake.when asked if there was bread buns waitress said we may have some slices of bread somewhere.the meal never actually came after 45 mins and we asked for our money back ,which we got with a comment the waitress had problems.the table beside us asked for sauce for there sandwiche and were given a nearly empty bottle that looked as if it had been picked out of the bin.

Visited this morning for breakfast or more like lunchtime and we had an all day breakfast and a veggie one. Everything was cold nearly finished by the time toast came. The sausage was pasty nearly anaemic, bacon and fried egg were undercooked. Won't be going back as made me feel physically sick afterward. Looking at other reviews maybe it was just a bad day let's hope so. Should have known better when there was no where to dry your hands in toilet

Love to stop off and have a coffee while I am in town. This place does nice coffee and lovely ice cream!! Nice little place. Lovely staff. Prices are not too bad. Think they could just do with more staff there never seems to be enough for a bit quicker service. On the whole will stop off again.

Arriving at 9am on a Saturday morning, we were suprised to find the Cafe already busy. After ordering breakfast and taking our seats, Tea was bought out immediatly, we were advised that refills were free of charge. The breakfast was large and very tasty but the welcome was fantastic. We would go back if we are in the Area.

This is an unassuming shop located in an arcade running off the Main Street. If you are an ice cream lover it is well worth visiting. There is a choice of at least 10 different, and unusual, ice creams. Try something different such as Turkish delight flavour, or fruit and liquorice. Great Jersey ice cream - well worth a visit.

My friends and I are always looking for somewhere different to have a drink, a snack and a chat on a dinner time. We've been to Archers a few times and the ice cream is to die for. But the service is sooooooo slow. The drinks are reasonably priced but does it really take 15 minutes to serve a coffee and a bottle of coke. I would visit every week in the summer but I only get an hour for my dinner so haven't got time to wait around.

Came in for take out ice cream, place seemed clean and tidy. Had 2 strawberry and one black cheery ice cream. Although it was tasty it seemed to be the higher end price bracket. Was catering for our 4 year old daughter and 3 year old niece. Lovely ice cream just pricey.

We paid £9 for two coffees and 2 scones. The girl serving did not seem to be listening as we had to repeat ourself twice, also couldn't smile. There was a friend of hers sitting in the window seat just watching. We paid our money and took a seat. She made an awful amount of noise banging about behind the counter before coming around the front of the counter to get the scones, she picked one up with her hand then slotted it in between the tonges she was carrying! She brought our food and drinks across then went and sat by her 'friend' on the sofa. Then Steven came out from the back. I'm unsure whether he realised we were sat in the cafe, although I'm unsure how he could miss us. The three of them then went on shouting across the cafe to each other. They were not professional at all and quite smutty, and if we'd not already paid we'd have walked out. The scone and coffee was fine but we won't be going back again. We used to visit some time ago and always has a good reception and good coffee/cake/ice cream and often recommended to others

Great product but fewer varieties. Staff seem to be selected for just how rude they can be; used to be better. Not everyone is a customer who needs barking at to hand over cash only or else they won't get served, unless you have a pet dog with you and that tends to get better attention

Three variations on chocolate ice cream between Mummy, Daddy and three year old - three happy customers ! Very busy on a bank holiday Monday with the fair on in Northallerton too but service was busy and the tables were all clean. No complains and will return ( for an ice cream frappe next time! )

When we walked in, the cafe was empty. I ordered an ice cream and a milk shake. The girl behind the counter served me my ice cream and said she would bring my wife's milk shake over to us. We sat down and waited. Meanwhile, some more customers came in, and the girl served them, with no attempt to make the milk shake. There was another girl in the room at the back, apparently doing nothing. The other customers sat down with their ice creams. Still no milk shake. We were pretty fed up by this point, so my wife went over and asked about her milk shake. The first girl suddenly remembered the milk shake, which the second girl brought over and deposited on the table with a surly 'Sorry for your wait.' My wife said 'I hope I'm going to get this for nothing because I've waited so long for it.' Girl 2 said to girl 1, 'How long has she waited?' 'A few minutes', came the reply. Neither of them spoke to or looked at us. However, we had waited more than a few minutes and it was the fact that the next customers were served before she had finished serving us that rankled. As for the food and drink, the ice cream was nice but the milk shake was mediocre at best. We weren't impressed with their hygiene either - neither of them wore gloves when serving food even though they were handling money. They weren't to be seen when we finished, so we left and decided to put our complaint on TripAdvisor. We won't return!

off the High Street. Wide selection of Archers' own ice cream and sweet treats, and no pressure to select quickly. There is outside seating and cooler indoors seating which is useful as the outside faces the sun in the afternoon. Very clean and hygienic.

Went in already had booked a table took 30 mins to get sat down. No table service. Took 1.30hours for food once ordered. Food on floor table not cleaned. Once people had left they did not clear up ( there was not many people in there either). Had ran out of most food on the menu. We told them we had a broccoli allergy so when they did not have most of the veg we requested. They piled the plate with broccoli. As soon as we walked in it smelled of fish. Once the food had come we had hard meat undercooked chips and the nana said “it was the worst meal of her life” (she is eighty and bearing in mines she was in an orphanage where they did not give good food back then).

My husband and I booked in with friends for Sunday lunch today and quite frankly the service and the food was appalling. The young lad who took our order was surly and unfriendly. We waited nearly an hour for our food which was over cooked and horrible when it arrived. The meat and roast potatoes ( which were so overcooked they were dried out and crispy) were served with no veg or gravy. We eventually had to go to the bar and ask for the veg which came in a small square pot which wouldn’t have been enough for one person never mind the three of us who had ordered the roast dinner. The veg was also over cooked and tasteless. Meanwhile the rest of the meal had gone cold. Even the dessert I had of a chocolate sundae was off. Never again…
