Costa Coffee in Hambleton

Visited while staying in the area. Such friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere.

Despite visiting on a Saturday lunchtime, this Costa branch was very quiet and we were served promptly. The drinks were good, but the woman who served us could not have been any less interested, there was no smile, no hello, nothing other than "what do you want". Thankfully the man who made our drinks was much more interested in having a conversation, he was very friendly and actually engaged with us!

The best hot, caramel latte' I have ever experienced at any Costa. I have visited many others. This one in Bedale has a very clean welcoming space, not the crammed venues of others. Relaxing friendly service.

Quiet when we went in on Sunday morning but filling up as we left after a coffee and a hot chocolate- served tepid. There was a sign up explaining staff shortages so no points deducted for slightly distracted service and minor confusion over bills. Back room in cafe quirkily decorated with sacking on walls, old garden tools and pretend plants. Made for a calm and cosy atmosphere.

The coffee was horrific. Avoid the toblarone latte if you have any respect for your stomach. It is minging!

Had a bad experience here two weeks ago (Monday the 10th). I ordered a hot chocolate to have while sitting in. The lady who served me brought my hot chocolate 'in her hand' and the spoon in the other, placed my hot chocolate on the table without a word and the spoon on the table surface. No serviette, no sugar. I had to get up and ask to have my spoon changed and for a saucer. I've been to establishments that I consider not-so-good but there's a level of service that comes standard. I was unimpressed, to put it lightly. Bad first experience at a Costa outlet.

One of the best Costa Coffee Shops I have ever been in. The place was exceptionally clean. The two chaps working behind the counter were very friendly. The day I visited the Lemon Muffins were extremely fresh, in fact my wife and I both commented after that they were the freshest we have ever tasted. Full marks to the two guys working there. If ever you are in Bedale I would thoroughly recommend that you take the time to visit. I just wish this review had 10 stars as they deserve that.

Friendly staff excellent service

Quite possibly best Costa in the UK - hot choc made here is the finest too and the staff great, led by the excellent manager. They keep the door open since the pandemic too, it is still ok inside, not at all cold, and it's sensible and reassuring. I see older folks feeling safe and meeting friends here, something we must keep doing for connection and community.

Coffee was OK till I got to the grounds at the bottom of the cup. Ugh! My Sage Bambino at home doesn't give me that.

Nice place to sit and chill. Wheel chair accessible and toilet farsillity. Proper freindly.

Coffee is good as always, staff are friendly and it's always clean but the last 3 times I've been here and paid cash I've been short changed and been met with a little resistance when I've asked for my change back..this has left me leaving with a coffee I've paid a little more than expected for and my change still in the till! I'll be using card or making sure I have the correct money in future...

The steak bite was cold I ask for hot one tea was not bad

Very poor ordered a Terry's choc orange hot chocolate. They said they didn't have the Terry's orange so got an after 8, very poor, just a standard hot chocolate with an after eight chocolate on the top. Very disappointed.

Because you can takeaway at Costa

Today, Saturday/Northallerton branch at about 10'ish. Great coffee as always, but, the alternative toilet door key had been mislaid (as the usual toilet was not in use). To the Very helpful and patient young man who sorted out the usual toilet for me, a big thank you; but not to the rather 'uncaring' young girl. Shame!

Plenty of room.food and drinks were good.

We are so lucky to have this Costa Coffee in walking distance as we normally visit a couple times a month. It’s definitely the best one we have in our local area and the best one I’ve visited anywhere. The team are always friendly and bring our drinks to the table. Always quick and efficient service.

On this occasion it was terrible! I used my costa collapsible cup which collapsed when I tried to put the lid on covering me in coffee! The staff didn't offer a cloth to clean me up. My sheepskin coat was splashed. The staff said they hadnt had training in using them.

Coffee ok but long wait before it was brought to our table. Seemed to be short staffed

But it was a welcome relief on a cold market day morning in Bedale. Large shop on two levels. Pleasant staff and ambience. Usual Costa fare. Good w.c.s

We decided on a snack and coffee on a Sunday morning whilst travelling home from holiday and this place was looking like one of only a couple open. We ordered food and coffee and the drinks arrived but the food didn't. The cafe looked very untidy with lots of tables with plates and cups on, not having been cleared away and the two members of staff looking very stressed. I finally had to go and ask for the food again and it then was delivered. The place was then being cleared and cleaned very efficiently and I overheard a conversation about a large group of people suddenly descending on the shop so it is understandable that it was a little in disarray.

Very very busy when we arrived. But all credit to the staff for just about coping. Very nice inside and it goes back a long way so plenty of tables

There was only one member of staff on, he was friendly but it was very busy and he got my order wrong. It was "to go" so I couldn't get a refund or a replacement. I would be hesitant to go again.

Nice Costa in this small market town. Good value, nice service and this one actually listened when I asked for a cooled down hot chocolate for my child (see other Costa reviews to realise this isn't always the case).
