Extremely rude nasty man, I presume is the owner. His attitude to customers is so negative. Perhaps he should retire? Will not visit again ever. Not that he’d bother. Feel sorry for the young girls working along side Mr Grump.

Tried this place while on holiday. Got 2 mochas and 2 sandwiches. Coffees were good and the sandwiches were ok, just a little bit too much mayo in the chicken and bacon needed more chicken and bacon. The young lady who served us was extremely lovely and even though she was clearly exhausted as it was a hot day and we called near closing she was pleasant and smiley. The older gentleman maybe needs to learn to bark at his staff when there are no customers in the shop. He created an awkward atmosphere and while I understand the pressures of running a place like this especially in the heat he needs some lessons in staff appreciation. Look after your staff and they look after your business.

The “2” is for the seats in the sun. This was the nice part. The service and quality of coffee was terrible. They need to realise that latte is not just a mug of coffee made with hot milk. The milk was boiling hot - this is not how coffee is made - the taste was minimal and a skin formed within a few seconds. We both left our coffees. We were going to “Yorks of Thirsk” next door but they were closed - next time we will wait for them opening at 10.00 - we will not return to “Plenty”.

Visited here after an over nighter for the races for breakfast. The older man cooking with 2 younger members of staff was the most obnoxious, rude and nasty price of work. Rude to customers, spoke to the staff like something he had trod in. It is quite clear he doesnt like his job and for the sake of others he needs to give it up! If we hadn't already placed an order we would have left. Terrible experience, does not deserve your money and the coffee was terrible.

Stopped at Plenty for lunch and we weren’t disappointed. Staff were good and the tables outside in the sunshine were clean and well placed. The food was exceptional , well presented and very tasty. The Tuna , Cheese and Red Onion Toastie was packed full of filling , well prepared and very tasty. The wife’s Tuna and Salad Long Brown roll was again packed full with very tasty ingredients so much so she thanked the owner for the quality of the roll on leaving , complimenting him on delivering one of the best lunches she has had served from a cafe/sandwich shop. Food was average, staff were rude, made you feel like you didn’t dare order anything else. Told there was no hot food, then stood there as they made the next customer hot food. May as well have thrown my food at me, no words exchanged, no thank you, no goodbye, no thank you for buying lunch and drinks for 6 people from us. Then as we were sat outside, with 30 minutes until close, they began obnoxiously packing away the outside tablets and ripping the signs up. Wouldn’t return

This place has sadly changed. Admittedly it is busy but the owner never communicaes with anyone. We ordered £17.00 worth of food and sat down to eat it. Excellent gluten free fry-up and fully knowledgeable of coeliac/gluten free food preparation and cooking. I was offered hash browns instead of the sausage, which wasn’t gluten free, which was a refreshing change from generally just having items ‘removed’ from a dish if not GF! Extra bacon too and to finish it off the GF brown bread was delicious.! Service excellent and the staff are super friendly. Will definitely be going again.

I visited at least twice a week for my lunch, have done for a few weeks now and the food is nice and tasty but the staff are just plain rude. And what I assume is the owner (the South African guy), is just rude to his staff. Treat your staff with respect rather than humiliating them in front of customers, he only picked up the wrong sauce!! They also seem to make their prices up, considering I go in regularly and get the same thing, it seems to be different most times. Best off going to Yorks of Thirsk (which is literally 2 doors up!)

My wife and I take our grand-daughter out every Thursday for a walk around Boroughbridge and usually stop to have a cuppa and a scone - Boroughbridge seems well supplied with cafes. My daughter said she'd heard "Plenty" was nice so we thought we'd give it a try. Two decaf teas and two cherry scones, £9.90! I went in to ask how much the tea was to be told it was a 50p surcharge over a speciality tea price of £1.70, I think a normal tea was £1.50. Without hesitation I said I was not paying that price and asked for my money back. I was told that the price was on the board - there is no mention of decaf tea let alone it somehow being more specialised than speciality tea to such an extent that it attracts it's own premium price. I stood my ground and insisted on my money back and it was returned. We went back to our usual cafe and had two decaf teas (same price as a normal tea) and two scones for £6.70 - that's more or less the norm in our experience.

So let’s ignore that they are charging £6 for reheated sausage and bacon and address the terrible customer service!! So we called in for breakfast before heading home my partner ordered while I chose a table outside she was surprised that they were heating food up in the microwave but never mind it looked nice so she payed and joined me at the table, two bites in a very rude man came out and said we charge extra for sitting in, you should have told us if you weren’t taking away, a bit flustered we offered to pay the difference(we weren’t asked when ordering if we were eating in) he said it didn’t matter but to make sure to say we are staying in next time(we already knew there wasn’t going to be a next time) so we now feel uncomfortable and discuss wether to leave, I want to stress as well that there was nobody else at any other tables or inside ordering, anyway as we had already starting eating and offered to pay the extra we decided to stay, one minute later the same man came back out and snatched a bag from under our sandwich’s and said il take this then as you don’t need it!! I was shocked by this terrible level of service we picked our food up and ate in the car instead, I can only imagine that with this attitude the only reason this place stays open is because of tourist who don’t know any better as they won’t revive any repay custom acting like that! We were just passing through at lunchtime and decided to stop for something to eat. We chose Plenty at random and were pleased with what we got. A pulled pork and a beef and onion sandwich were freshly made for us, washed down with good coffee. It was a nice day, so we sat on a bench in the market place and watched the world go by as we ate. We've paid a lot more for worse lunches than that.

Charming and interestingly decorated little cafe. The food was lovely and the staff were friendly. Poached eggs on toast is a favourite and they served it perfectly.

On a visit to Thirsk with friends on Saturday we came across the best place to have a quick lunch in town. For the size of the place the choice was fantastic and everything is cooked or prepared fresh. You can sit in or at a table outside in the marketplace. We walked all around the town looking for something good and we certainly found it. WARNING... Don't miss this one especially the omelettes !!!!

Stopped off to refuel whilst out on a bike ride. Chose here in preference to the typical chains on most high streets (you know who I mean) and was very impressed. Sandwiches freshly made with plenty of filling and very tasty. Cakes looked very appetising too but was meant to be getting fit.

We were staying at Hunton on holiday and wanted a local cafe so that we didn’t have to drive too far, ‘The Nest’ did not disappoint. What an incredible location, really friendly staff and gorgeous scones. Given that my Mum made thousands of them when we had a restaurant (and hers were always delicious), she gave 10/10 for the cherry one and I’d give the same rating for my yummy cheese one. If you like scones, stunning views and cute animals, this is the place for you!

Cosy and friendly little cafe attached to the Millbry Hill shop but with its own entrance looking out over the bridge and the River Leven in Stokesley. Would definitely recommend the cheese scones.
