Some of the best Chinese dishes we’ve ever had! The Cantonese duck and Singapore chow mein were particularly impressive.

Always out go to cafe when visiting Northallerton. It’s a busy place for a reason. Staff always attentive. Great ‘home cooked’ food Forget the rest and visit the best

Visited with our friends for Sunday lunch. Wow...what a delight. Amazing food..cooked perfectly !!! All this for a pub! Go enjoy and you will definitely not be disappointed!! Congratulations to all staff and chef and owner. Thank you for making it memorable.

On a walk around and stopped for some refreshment. The beer was well kept and the bar staff was polite. We observed a local having a Ploughmans Lunch and what a plate full.....we shall return in better time to this proper family friendly country pub......

Yummy food, lovely small friendly atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Perfectly placed along the Cleveland way.

Lovely spot for local food and drink, including ice cream for both humans and dogs. We had a lovely slab of homemade red velvet cake and a coffee and walnut slice together with coffees. Rustic decor and hospitable staff.

Booked ahead for a table of 7, including 3 children. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted at seated promptly. The kids were offered colouring material, and liked to look at the fish (pet ones that are alive!). Food was delicious and good-sized portions. Not...

Nice couple running a good looking restaurant. Ordered food, one of the meals had a “cooked fly” on a chip. Meal was taken away and returned with new chips! No offer of a full replace, simply took off the chips and added new chips (probably fried in the same oil as the fly)!The fish was nice but a bit watery. It looks like it was not fully defrosted before drying. The price of a Diet Coke was removed from our bill, the fly meal was still charged.

We happened to pass by and saw there was a cafe in this gallery so we came in for a coffee and cake. The cappuccino wasn't brilliant, it was more like a latte with chocolate on top but the homemade amaretto biscuit was super.

What a gem of a restaurant around 20 mins drive from York, the shared platter starter and mains of Chicken Satay and Chicken Kung Po were wonderful, aromatic, spicy and very tasty.

Lovely breakfast and very reasonable prices. Coffee was very nice and also good vale for money. Staff were very friendly. Will definitely be back :)

Great little pub, very friendly.. food was fantastic ..lovely sitting outside next to the lock ... also caravan pitches are great.. if you like fishing it's the place to go

We have been to this pub twice in the last week and have been very satisfied with the staff as they are pleasant and friendly the food and beer was excellent and we would recommend to any one who ventures up this way

Great wee pub, cracking food and lovely beer. Good way to break a journey with their airb&b. Fantastic chili chicken parmesan, which seems to be a specialism of the North East......
