Some of the best Chinese dishes we’ve ever had! The Cantonese duck and Singapore chow mein were particularly impressive.

Best Chinese takeaway for miles everything is delicious on the menu here. Great service and very prompt. If you eat in its limited tables but again great service here.

Hands down the best Chinese around. We were introduced to Panda around a year ago and have never and will never use another Chinese takeaway again. Restaurant quality every time. Cooked to perfected. Excellent quality meat, prawns and vegetables. So much more authentic than your usual takeaways and what’s ever better - it’s no more expensive to other takeaways but is 100% better every time !

Lovely little spot just off the centre of town. It had been well recommended to us and lived up to our high expectations. We called for just a takeaway for our first visit, which won’t be our last . Friendly, helpful staff, nice couple of Czech lagers whilst we waited and fabulous food when we got it home! Best Chinese meal for a good few years….. thank you Panda!

Chicken and sweetcorn soup perfect. Fillet steak Cantonese was so wonderful, as was chicken with cashew nuts. They also do good seaweed (now called cabbage). Lovely wine. Good value.Excellent Chef!

It’s so hard to find a good Chinese restaurant but this was amazing. A great selection, brilliant food and lovely service.

We ordered a takeaway from this restaurant and I was looking forward to one of their gluten free options, admittedly it seemed to be chicken with everything but it sound nice with their own home made gluten free oyster sauce. We ordered for seven people and I think everyone else enjoyed their food but the gluten free option was very bland. Chicken in a very thin chicken flavoured gravy. I cook my own stir fry’s at home gluten free and manage to get in more flavour than this meal, with ginger, garlic and gluten free soy sauce, there was nothing like that in this meal.. Very disappointed. Would not recommend the gluten free option.

Great service and the smaller one or two course menu is excellent value and very very good food. The Peking Spare ribs were delicious as was the chicken in satay sauce. Very yum.

The food was very good. Lunch specials are great and not expensive, serving staff good and friendly - coped with my dietary requirements well. You could say the food is a little expensive for a Chinese cafe but it really is good. I will be going again. Really nice owner.

OK not on the main road but not too far and worth finding. I had a lunch and dinner here. It kind of sits between a Chinese cafe and restaurant. The surroundings are not sumptuous BUT the food is first class and service good too. There is a lunch time special menu - very good and not expensive, and a full evening menu which is great. Will be coming back for sure

I've been coming to the Panda for years, mostly for takeaway but occasionally sitting in, and it has always been great. The staff are incredibly nice and welcoming and the food is always served/collected on time and piping hot. The food is a great representation of Chinese food and the business is run impeccably, I can't recommend enough

Visited this Chinese twice now and on both occasions enjoyed the food. However the seating area was too cold and uncomfortable to relax therefore sadly probably won’t return...

We came to the Panda restaurant for an evening meal whilst visiting the area. We came as soon as they opened as we had a baby in a pram and thought it would be less busy. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They helped us in with the pram and gave us a table that was out of the way. The food was very good, although slightly salty I thought. The prices were reasonable. Unfortunately the restaurant got busy whilst we were there and we had a job trying to get the pram out as we were in the far corner of the restaurant. This didn’t detract from the visit though and we would visit again if in Stokesley

Made a wide diversion just to eat here today,pleased we did.The selection from the lunchtime menu was difficult as there is more choice than usually found in Chinese menus. Despite the take-away side of the business being extra busy we were served promptly and our dishes were generous and tasty.We will return.

I was stood on the bridge and looking for somewhere for lunch in Stokesley today. The chef from Panda was out the back having a fag, in full uniform. When he'd finished, he threw his butt in the river. So I decided not to eat there. I've no idea what the food is like, but there is more to running a restaurant than serving good food

We have been patrons of another local Chinese takeaway but on this particular night it was shut so we tried the Panda. Wow. I've not eaten Chinese food this good for over 30 years. Our meals were fresh, piping hot even after the drive over to Kirkby and then to Potto. The taste was a revelation - I'd forgotten how good Chinese food can be. Not eaten in as yet but definitely will after this. As far as the food goes I cannot praise it highly enough.

Had a sit in meal here for first time in ages as we usually get the takeaway and it was lovely with friendly staff, quick service, big portions, only a little bit dearer than the takeaway but nice now and again to get in the restaurant and clatter them chopsticks, will definitely eat in again soon.

So thankful to have such an amazing little place on our doorstep! Visited loads of times, to sit in, takeaway and even for private parties of 25 people and not once have we been let down in any way. The staff are brilliant, kind, attentive and always remember us. Amazing food and great value for money, Defiantly worth a visit if you live out of area.

Went here when unable to eat in our hotel and we were glad that was the case.Quite simply the best Chinese food we have tasted we both agreed big portions a little to much we could have took what we left away but decided not to.Excellent service to go with the food and very reasonable price.

Have had a few takeaways from here and they have all been really good. We have not been in for a sit down meal yet ! the staff are really nice.

I ordered hot and sour soup, kung pao chicken and special fried rice. It was £16 for the three items. It was very busy waiting to pick up our takeaway but I take that as a good sign and don't have a problem waiting for good food, if it is actually good.

Popped in for the special early bird menu for a change. Two courses - starter and main - with a good choice of dishes for both. Excellent service and food was served piping hot which is a huge plus for us. Live in Stokesley and will definitely be visiting again and soon.

After reading a number of reviews that felt they prioritised on take away, I was at first thinking they may be true, however our service was good and prompt enough.

Nos encontramos con este restaurante por casualidad y volvimos más tarde para el almuerzo. Resultó ser una buena decisión. Lo único que lamento. . . Es muy lejos de nuestra casa para visitar regularmente.

Estás malacostumbrados con comida china en el Panda, pero es Stokesley extra especial debido a la calidad de sus ingredientes. Platos de Carne son normales llevarán a una nueva altura delicioso por su uso de carne cortada en rodajas y su sal y pimienta platos de marisco son increíbles - sin duda prueba la sal y la pimienta de calamar que restaurantes de categoría simplemente no toque. Un poco más costoso que otros, pero vale la pena cada céntimo!

We visit here every week and we can honestly say this is the nicest Chinese for miles!! We have been to China town allOver the country and this is one of the best!! The hidden gem of the north east!! Visited just before closing one evening and although the restaurant was empty the takeaway was popular. Food was excellent. Very simple restaurant but delicious food which was served quickly and reasonably priced. We will visit again.

It was a Saturday night and we didn't want to travel far as the weather wasn't good so decided to try Panda. We phoned up first and they did have a table early evening. It is only a small restaurant so we were pleased. We were shown to our table and ordered our drinks, which arrived quick enough. We ordered the mixed starter for two, which also arrived quickly. However, we are not adept at using chopsticks and the items were too large to eat easily using fingers or the fork provided - what was needed was a knife. We did not eat the spare ribs as, even with the moist wipe, it could have been very messy trying to eat these large ribs with only fingers.Our main courses took a while to arrive as the take- away trade was non stop for at least an hour! The priority seemed to be take- aways. My main course of chicken with cashew nuts in Kung Po sauce was really nice but perhaps I should have taken up the offer of a plate as opposed to the bowl provided. My husbands main course was the house special curry, which was a very generous portion it has to be said. It could have done with the prawns and meat just having another minute in the wok for his taste. Desert was banana fritters with syrup and ice cream and was truly delicious - we also got a knife with it!Some good aspects and some not so good. Perhaps other than a Saturday night would be better. For those of us not good with chopsticks a choice of a knife and fork would have been nice. We finished our meal off with a coffee (very nice) and a whisky. The whole meal was quite expensive however and I couldn't say it was value for money.

Just had dinner here for my mums birthday and was very impressed.The Panda has been in Stokesley for years and is now under new management.We had a very nice meal,in fact the best Chinese meal I have had for some time.Service was ok.The lady behind the counter was been kept busy with people calling for take aways.Would recommend for a meal.Will be back.

We use Panda a lot for takeaways. Prices are reasonable, (£24 last night for 2 main meals, three rice and 2 sides.) The staff are lovely, always pleasant even working under pressure, which they often are because this place is always busy with people collecting takeaways, even when the restaurant is quiet.

There are very few Chinese restaurants in our area and most of them are takeaway only and not to be recommended and not open at lunchtime. So we were pleased to find this restaurant open for lunch.The dining area is small and could do with some refurbishment, but the food made up for that. There is a extensive choice of dishes and a lunch time special menu of two courses for £7.50. We chose the lunch time special. We ordered spring rolls and Beef in black bean sauce and Szechwan chicken, both were good and great value for money. I wish the restaurant was closer to my home so that I could eat here more often and use its takeaway service.The wine list was very rudimentary, but who goes to a Chinese restaurant for fine wines.

I go to this Chinese restaurant now and again and to be honest I should go more often, the food is really good and the starter spare ribs are the best I have ever had, I always get the special curry for mains and it never disappoints me, very reasonable prices, well worth a visit

We had heard great things of the Panda, the food was very good but the rest was a big letdown.We had the fixed menu for 4 of us, we had to select 4 main courses out of 8 , I fancied an extra course but couldn't get the waiter to understand! He said I had to have chips or extra rice so I said forget it.The service was very slow and the place was untidy and unkept, the gents toilet was disgusting.

Every meal we have ordered, apart from one which was incorrect, has been amazingly delicious. We have only had takeaways but I would love to have a meal in the restaurant one night as it always looks so welcoming.Recommended.

My wife and I enjoyed a lovely meal here one Saturday evening in August. The restaurant was quiet, but plenty of people coming in for takeaways all evening. The food was very tasty, the staff polite and efficient. We had the chicken and sweetcorn soup and chicken skewers with satay as starters and then Kung Po chicken and sliced beef (sizzling) in black bean sauce for mains. Will definitely be returning to work our way through the rest of the very appealing menu!

As it was a Thursday Evening we decided to go for an early meal in Stokesley. The staff were extremely welcoming and efficient, the meal rival any we have had in Soho,London, Manchester or Newcastle's Chinese quarters. The hot and sour soup my husband had was one of the best he has tasted and he has tasted a few! my sweet barbecue ribs were delicious, all the main dishes were served hot and without the grease you can get in some restaurants. Prices were very reasonable, the restaurant was busy for early venting but both seated and take away customers were deal with promptly and politely. Definately one we will return to.

Always get take always from here (will have to eat in one of these days). Consistently excellent. Fabulous quality ingredients, expertly cooked.

we went in last night, we were shown to our table, may I say restraunt was very clean, we had ribs to start and they wer lovely,I then had chicken curry and my other half had some house special dish in oyster sauce an both dishes were fantastic, only thing I could complain about was the portion size, main meal portion would do 2 people.service was brilliant,overall well worth a visit, we shall definitely return again

I visited Panda with my husband and we both really enjoyed the food.The menu has a lot of choice, we ordered the starter for 2 to share and everything was really tasty, came out quickly and very hot. The prices were reasonable and staff very friendly and polite. We will be going back very soon.

I thought i would never find proper Chinese restaurant in the whole area that would in a way, keep up with China town in London. This one came as a surprise. Tasty and quality meal, a bit up market with price but you pay for quality. Will definitely be back many more times.

The panda restaurant is usually very good, but last night our takeaway was very disappointing. Crispy chicken (Cantonese style) arrived with only rice and chicken, no vegetables and the noodles I ordered tasted as tho they were burnt. Think we may give it a miss for a while. Sorry panda but I felt you should know.

A group of us went to the Panda just before Christmas and I have to say I was hesitant/reluctant as my previous experience of the Panda was not very good.My experience could not have been better and all those doubts were quashed by a superb meal and excellent service all at a real value for money price; something you don't often get at Christmas!!The Panda is a relatively small restaurant, it has the feel of sitting in someones front room , however the place had been refreshed with some new decor and a fresh lick of paint. We were met by a very polite and welcoming hostess who made us all feel very welcome and valued. On came the food, all of which was excellent, I had no negative views of any of it, well done chef! The meal included wine (plenty of it) and was all managed and served in not only a professional way but a very gentle and courteous manner which led to us all having a wonderful evening. Well Done we will be back to support our local Chinese restaurant.

I'm so pleased that the Panda has reopened. We have dined in and had a few takeaways since it reopened and the food has always been excellent. A few teething troubles with timing and service at first but now very efficiently done and food is as good as ever.

I went to panda restaurant for Christmas Eve evening meal I had spare ribs my better half had chicken sweet corn soup both came in good time both very tasty. Main meal for me was Singapore chow main the waitress stated this meal was very spicy and she was right truly fantastic she who knows best had sizzling beef and black bean which I am told again fantastic This was my second visit to panda I can say the food is of a good quality very tasty the staff are very polite and helpful Would I go again yes taking my mom this time.

Panda under the old management was the must go to Chinese takeaway. After reopening under new owners the first visit here was disappointing. The service was slow and disorganised the young staff seemed unsure what needed to be done. The food gwas not up to the same standard as previously experienced. As it's reputation was so good in the past I will give it another try when they have had some time to settle in

The Panda has just reopened after I think being taken over due to retirement. Had a lovely meal, had starters and the aromatic duck, all the dishes were well cooked and the veg for the duck was thinly sliced and all fresh, have been elsewhere with it cut in chunks and past its best. All in all a very pleasant dinner. The restaurant is small and would advise booking however it also does a takeaway service that we have not yet tried.

Visited on a Monday night. It was pretty quiet but the service was lovely. The food was gorgeous and portion sizes were brilliant - we ordered soup each and 4 meals to share with chips and rice and we were all totally stuffed and struggling to finish. Prices were reasonable too, would visit again and recommend.

We ate here last night & were really impressed. The former rather dated decor had been replaced with a fresh modern look, the food was excellent, better than before we thought, loads of meat in the soups and the main courses, rice perfectly cooked & lovely non-greasy prawn crackers.The waiter was charming & attentive & the choice of drinks had improved. Really pleased to have a good local Chinese restaurant again - we'll be using it regularly.

The Panda restaurant closed for a few months during a change of ownership (although within the same family) and it was greatly missed! Pleased to see it reopen a couple of months ago and even more pleased that the food is as good as ever. Excellent value and a wide-ranging menu, so something here for everyone.

I visited here recently with a social group I am a member of. It was the second time I have been here. We all shared prawn crackers, then some people had Starters: Soup, Spring Rolls and Won Tons. All were piping hot and delicious. The main courses included various chicken, prawn, beef and vegetable dishes with rice or noodles. All were enjoyed and any leftovers (not that there was much left) were packed up to take home too, allowing the enjoyment to continue. My favourite dish is Pak Bo, a mixture of meats and prawns in Oyster sauce, well worth trying.

Took my daughter for a girlie night out. The food was as good as ever. I love the crispy duck! The service was excellent

Not for the first time have I had a VERY unfriendly experience at this restaurant. No idea who owns this place if they did they would SACK all the front of house staff.

We use the Panda a lot for takeaways & occasionally eat in. Nothing fancy but always good food. The staff are always very welcoming.

Always choose from set lunch when we come to Stokesley. Good choice,very tasty and very good value. Friendly staff. Look forward to going. Much more tasty than the local chinese!

Whilst I cannot advise on the quality of the restaurant food, the take away contains too much msg, it made my son feel quite ill with heart palpitations!

Having been visiting Panda for at least four years now, I was surprised that I hadn’t already reviewed it. I was equally surprised that there was only the one review of it on TripAdvisor and that the author of that review didn’t rate it highly at all; I’m in a complete disagreement with that review, so here’s my version.Panda itself is a small restaurant that also offers take-away; it’s sufficiently small that it does rather feel like you’re eating in somebody’s house. The restaurant is always clean and the staff friendly; nothing has ever been too much trouble.If you’re reading this than I’d reckon, in the grand scheme of things, you’re mostly interested in what the food is like and I have to say that it’s genuinely excellent. Servings are generous, cuts of meat are good (one key point here is that they use chicken breast, rather than thigh, as a lot of Chinese restaurants do and which her indoors hates bitterly) and ordering off-menu has never proven to be an issue. It’s maybe not my place to address some of the issues brought up by the previous reviewer, but I’m going to anyway.Prices aren’t what I’d call extortionate, but are on a par with other Chinese restaurants we’ve eaten at in Middlesbrough and Stockton; the difference is that the food is significantly better at Panda. The take-away menu is a discounted version of the restaurant menu and again, is on a par with other Chinese take-away restaurants in the area.I’ve already mentioned that the food is genuinely good; we’ve never experienced anything but this; certainly never the sub-standard description of the previous reviewer.If I had to pick fault, it would indeed be with the toilets, which are accessed through a door into a corridor; this corridor leads to the kitchen, but the door to the toilets does not take you to the kitchen, as the previous reviewer states; Environmental Health wouldn’t allow that for a start and, as an aside, the restaurant and kitchen are rated five stars from the local authority for hygiene standards. The two toilets are, however, very, very small and, were the owners looking to revamp, I’d wholeheartedly recommend the knock them into a single, much larger toilet. That said, I can’t confess to frequenting a restaurant based on toilets alone…Toilets aside, the only possible issue is that access to the restaurant is up a couple of chunky steps, which may prove an issue for anyone with accessibility issues.To sum up, it’s an excellent little restaurant, run by friendly staff who create well-priced, honest food that’s on as good as, if not better, than anything you’ll find locally. If you haven’t been and you’re concerned about one, low-rating review, for the restaurant, I’d highly recommend you just give it a try; I don’t think you’d be disappointed, unless you were expecting a Thai meal, in which case you're probably eating in the wrong place...

Because there are very few sit-down Chinese joints for miles around, these guys are getting away with charging extortionate prices for sub-standard food. And that's my opinion on what I observed of the take-away menu too. The in-house dining experience was pretty dire - the waitress refused our order to have one of each set menu dish for our large party claiming "one portion isn't big enough for one person, so get more than one and share". This was not only illogical it was a blatant lie, as my one portion dish (that nobody else was interesting in sharing) was rather big. We concluded that she was trying to minimise work for the kitchen staff. As for the food, my one portion of chicken with ginger had very little meat in it but was brimming in a rather bland sauce with vegetables.. Definitely NOT worth the price I paid. Access to the single toilet is through the kitchen door, which is mildly disturbing when I start to think about who touches what. These guys will need some competition before they get their act together. Meanwhile go to the Y'Thai down the road where you are sure to get a fantastic service for your money, both dining in and taking out.
