Romanby Chop Suey House in Hambleton

This is the first time we have ordered from this Chinese restaurant. The food was excellent, the service was great, and the delivery was fast. We will definitely be ordering again.

I had Beef, green pepper in black bean sauce with chips, my husband had the chicken curry with fried rice and Prawn Crackers. The meals were amazing, thank you so much. We had been working all day and had no energy to cook anything so we were so pleased to get such an amazing meal. Cash only - but we were told we could order on line and there was an added bonus of 15% discount for doing it via this method. We will definitely come back. Thank you. X

The munch boxes are disappointing, there is no effort with the curry sauce, it is way too thick and spicy. Just a big salty stodgy mess in a box. What a waste of money No need to reply

Food was absolutely outstanding, down side was ordered online at 7.20pm for 8pm pick up. Left the shop with my order at 8.40pm. They was very apologetic and like I said food was outstanding. Will good back that is for sure.

First time ordering. Hate leaving negative reviews but my order was so disappointing. Oily chips - could literally squeeze oil out of them (I don’t usually get chips so not too bothered about them). Rest of the order was bland/flavourless and dry. First time I’ve ever had to put salt on a takeaway. Only redeeming part was the honey chilli sauce.

This is simply the best Chinese in town. Yes the fried rice is closer to boiled in colour. But the salt and pepper chicken dish is spot on. Salt and pepper chips are five stars. They server the best gravy going. Staff are lovely. Very polite and willing to alter dishes for those fussy members of your family (we all have one) I usually pick something different from the menu but the salt and pepper chicken has me hooked.

Got 2 munch boxes. 1 with curry (way too spicy and drowned the chips) 1 with sweet and sour (so runny and didnt even taste like sweet n sour sauce) both unfortunately went in the bin :(

Best Chinese in town - the buttermilk crispy chicken unbelievable

Without a doubt the worst Chinese I have ever eaten. Chicken and sweetcorn soup was brown, tasted disgusting and completely inedible. Chips were hard. Sweet and sour sauce was disgusting - didn’t even taste like sweet and sour and again inedible.

The most amazing Chinese. Currently a uni student in Sheffield and no takeways compare. The food is phenomenal specially the salt and pepper chips. Well priced and reasonably quick service. Excellent Chinese.

I've just moved into the area and found Romanby Chinese on maps. The staff are very friendly and helpful and Wow!! The food was absolutely to die for. Needless to say we'll be using them for our local takeaway

We are in brompton for a few days , we had this Chinese takeaway recommended, my partner had a chicken curry and I had special chow mein , extras fried rice and a portion of chips , all the food was hot and delicious, and a prompt delivery!!!

Bland, no taste at all no cashew nuts at all in chicken and cashew nut dish, no seasoning awful meat!!! Avoid!!! Avoid do not waste your money .......

The worst chicken curry ever had from any Chinese half the dish was oil it was put in the bin and I will never order from them again as these new owners do the know how to run or even cook Chinese don't ever order from this place now since these new owners it is disgusting

Absolutley disgusted, s an s chicken, but it didnt taste of anything but gristle, why put tomato an cucumber in there. Chips were rank an hard. Worse chinese ive ever had. Wants shuttin down, looks dirty from outside.

Set meal for two was a disappointment - too much pre-cooked and refried product with generic sauce. Absence of fresh gains 1 star _ sorry. Not palatable especially - last resort take-away for me and I mean absolute last resort! _sorry

15/7/22 ordered a king prawn chow mien and it had 5 prawns and just noodles and so dry come back the previous owner. The new chefs need to take note on what use to be made as it won’t work otherwise.

Absolutely vile chicken nd sweetcorn soup overload of pepper spare ribs asked for barbecue sauce got gravy nd the chowmein was like a pot noodle with added meat nd veg stay clear

Great service on a delivery meal, very fast delivery, piping hot. Ordered by 'phone, paid by card, no issues whatsoever. Excellent food, will definitely return.

I specifically told the guy behind the counter to ensure the dish was mushroom free as I have an allergy to them. He said no problem with this. I am severely visually impaired and as soon as I took the first mouthful knew there were mushrooms in the dish. I spent the next few hours in pain. Thankfully it's not a life threatening allergic reaction. Not going back any time soon.

My son and I had a Set Meal B for two and the food was hot, tasty and plentiful. Huge portions and to be fair, most people could easily share this between three. Not the greatest restaurant in the world but clearly serves exactly what you want when you order a take away meal - very good indeed.

Had an amazing chinese on Friday Singapore Chow Mein, Prawn & Cashew, Crispy Duck and Pancakes, Beef Curry, Chicken and Pinapple, King Doo, rice, chips and mushroom gravey & separate gravey. So delicious and tasty well impressed. To say the place was full of waiting customers, prompt service and very polite!

We had a takeaway this Sunday evening, it was the worst I have ever had. My daughter ordered salt and pepper chicken, sweet and sour chicken and chips and curry sauce, the chicken was inedible in both dishes, it was like rubber. My husband and I ordered lemon chicken and beef and black bean sauce, with egg fried rice. It didn’t look very appetising, I put it on our dinner places and it tasted horrible. It was very expensive for what we got and I’m the fact i had to throw it in the bin. I will never go back, it was my daughter who wanted to try somewhere different. We will be going back to our usual. My advice is to go to one of the others in Town so that you and your family/friends won’t be disappointed. Very expensive for the small amount of foodr

I had never heard of KU BO. It was great! It was like a chinese english gravy. Not spicy, but very savoury. Green peppers, mushrooms, water chestnuts, bamboo chute, and meat. Great for dipping chips into.

Only had lemon chicken and rice so far but very nice and reasonable price.

Very good flavours, marked down as less than 9 balls and cold curry sauce. Warm sauce, 9 s&s balls plus a small bag of free prawn crackers would be great.

Just spent £28 for 2 the bbq ribs are ok but in gravy and can’t taste bbq sauce and expensive, too large for starter. Prawn crackers are not fresh, pork and mushrooms is very salty and pork is a cheap cut making it very chewy, the pork in special fried rice is also unbeatable as like cardboard!!! My husband plumps for a beef curry and he’s normally happy with that but then he will eat anything 🙄 teach me I should go to supermarket and buy Chinese at least I won’t be disappointed with quality I’ve actually paid for, this isn’t first time I’ve been disappointed here maybe one day I’ll learn grr

A great local Chinese takeaway. Unlike some takeaway restaurants they don't over artificial flavourings. So no heart pounding MSG additives, just hhhmmm.

Brilliant food at very reasonable prices.

Quality Chinese food at reasonable price

Sweet and sour pork, fried rice one of my favourite meals, Not been to this takeaway for a couple of years, Put in my order, went home and was very disappointed. The pork balls were very large but made up of pork sausage meat. It ruined what could have been a nice takeaway, I ate just the one pork ball and it was disgusting had to put the rest of the meal in the bin. An expensive mistake Why do these places cut corners customers will only walk away which I have done

Normally always really tasty food at this takeaway, however, got a takeaway last night (Sunday night, bank holiday weekend) and it was absolutely terrible. Had ribs as starter that was just fat and a spring roll which was all crispy batter with no contents. The chicken and ginger was made up mostly of onions, and the Chicken Chop Suey was so bad that we could not eat it, absolutely tasteless. This is the worst takeaway I can say we have ever had in our lifetime. Need to change the Sunday chef.
