The best restaurants in Craven Yorkshire and The Humber

Hi I came today with family because I was trying to think of a cafe that offered outside seating and a safe environment for me to have some normality whilst under going chemo I sat outside and my brother in law went to order When our order came the waitress wasn’t wearing any protective gear and it made me feel vulnerable Is this normal or should they at least wore a visor ? I’m not really understanding these rules anymore

We walked along the towpath from our campsite and found this brilliant little bar. Right on the canal, lovely views. Small but welcoming, staff were especially friendly. Seating inside and outside on the canal bank. Clientelle both local and visitors. at reasonable northern prices. Definitely recommend a visit.

Staff were lovely but having paid £15 to park our car we were looking forward to a lovely lunch and a walk. The walk was great of course but very little choice of food. Ended up with a bacon sandwich which was pretty poor quality and small for £5.50. Ice cream selection was nice though.

We visited this chippy twice on our four nights stay about ten miles from Settle. We both had the Small fish and chips special what i thought was excellent value. We both had as an extra a tub of fruity curry sauce which was lovely . So much so we had the same order for our second visit. The young lady who served me was really pleasant and friendly. She also served me again the second time and was really nice asking how my holiday had been etc. If i’m ever up this way again i will definitely pay a visit.

When we walked in the staff were very polite. However when i went to the bar to order food there was a young girl near me who got shouted at by a member of staff while they where behind the bar, Very unprofessional !! And some of the things she said were awful overall the food was okay, we will return hoping its a more friendly experience next time.

How can you get two cups of tea so wrong! The miniscule beaker, huge pyramidal leaf teabag and very little water for £5.80. Chap behind counter refused a hot water top up ‘saying pointedly’we’re a business not a charity!’. He’s a lot to learn about hospitality and serving Jo and Joe Public. Still, it was nice sat in the doorway watching the world go by and the food looked good. Skipton is well worth a visit.

Great service in a dog friendly bijou cafe. Hubby had a sausage and egg sandwich and I had the most delicious cheese mushroom and salsa Verde toastie. The coffee was great. We will definitely return when in Skipton

Popped in for a quick drink on Boxing Day following a walk over the tops from Kettlewell. Friendly staff and nice beer. Dog friendly.

UNBELIEVABLE as the daughter of a French Mum I can honestly say the best croissants I have had outside of France. The sourdough bread is delicious and I wish this was my local bakery. truly The sausage rolls and scotch eggs were lovely. What an absolutely beautiful bakery.

We are regular attenders at this cafe at brunch time, today we were served with the sandwiches we requested. My complaint relates to observations of staff and other customers. Several customers were disappointed in the lack of appropriate foods available. They were told there was no white bread although this was a confectioners/bakery and only 1.00pm. The same customer then asked for pie and peas only to be told that the staff member would need to check if any pies but certainly no mushy peas. Also lacking choice of condiments Another customer was told there were no jacket potatoes. The lack of provisions was bad enough but when the customers were dealt with by a curt and almost rude young girl who acted similarly with several customers then that was enough to put people off further visits. I have noted the review in July mentioning miserable older staff in the shop. With the best will in the world in the present climate these attitudes do not persuade customers to return or attract new customers by word of mouth. Suggest corrective measures are taken sooner rather than later. Skipton should be providing the best service particularly as parking charges have rocketed to an exorbitant level and people spending less hours there.

Went with my family food was tasty and wholesome and a fair price we will be back. Good range of sandwiches Panninies and meals. Also comprehensive children’s meals. Great local beer Settle Ribblehead on draft. Staff very friendly and helpful

If you are staying around the Low or High Bentham area, this is a must visit establishment. Food is fantastic, great array of drinks especially malt whisky’s and the staff were extremely friendly especially Tony and Molly who looked after us during our visit.

We absolutely love this place ! Jamal, Sam and team are absolute diamonds and will create any dish to suite your mood... Tonight for example I had a king prawn ( in the shell ) syletti naga, with lemon,onion and garlic rice with a thin an crispy garlic nan bread and a pea salad ..... Non of it as per menu, I just told Sam what I felt like and Jamal created it .... Awesome food which arrived in good time with clean warm plates and a really nicely chilled white wine.... I've been to many a fancy restaurant and this is anything but and yes it does need a lick of paint and a new chair or 3 but this little gem just hits the spot with what matters... We got here at basically 6pm so not exactly late. We had tang days in advice and requested to book a table as there was 12 of us, told don't need to don't worry and we don't really do reservations. Got here and struggled to any seating for a party our size so has to seat across four tables. To then overhear a party kicking off who had reserved because someone had sat at there table (not us but this was happening near the bar). After having a holiday home with food left on the microwave, no clean bedding and hadn't been cleaned we were offered 6 free drinks by reception. Got here and the manager had no clue what we were on about. Then we ordered food to be told 30 min wait (it was much longer). Considering how long we waited every single dish was tepid warm at best. The 'buckets' are six very skinny goujions and not worth the money. None of the food came out together. Half of us hadn't eaten whole the other half have had nothing. Half the menu was already out of stock also. Overall it was a cluster to say the least. Clearly not bothered with customer service, don't care about customers and as I write this my husband and kids and half my family have finished eating whilst me and my dad have still not had any food. This was meant to be us going out for my brother's big 30th and to be honest it's been s**t. Thanks for ruining my bros 30th crow in.

Takeaway only, excellent good and service. Had chicken, roast pork fried rice which is my go to Chinese meal. Definitely one of the best
