I've been here before with friends and with walking groups and it's never disappointed. Friendly, popular (book ahead if you come with a group), excellent range of goodies or just hot drinks if that's what you're after, and an excellent display of traditional sweetie jars behind the counter, as well as quirky artefacts displayed everywhere. And the ultimate accolade perhaps - clearly popular with cyclists (always a discriminating bunch when it comes to cafes and tea rooms. Right on the Pennine Way too :)

Coffee was ok. The ice cream floats were nice, but the selection of cakes was poor - it was mostly tray bakes so a bit disappointing. Wouldn't return.

A truly vintage cafe & sweet emporium. So quirky, you can't help but smile as you take in all the vintage memorabilia that adorn the walls and shelves. Even the toilet is a throw back to 1920 ( I guess ) The treacle tart and ginger cake were lovely and washed down with proper tea , yum. There is parking around 75m around the back. Will certainly return.

Not very friendly or welcoming place, the food was terrible for the price! I asked for a cheesy toasty with ham and chips. £6.90 for the toasty and and 3.90 for the chips. Toasty was more like 2 pieces of toast with no much cheese and very little ham. Not really a toasty! The chips were greasy and over cooked! My partner asked for a the soup of the day which the explain as pea and mint…. Well there was no taste of mint at all! And the portion was tiny! The customer service was awful from the moment we walked through the door. No greeting just “THERE IS TABLES THERE OR GO THROUGH THERE” After we finished the food the lady which was very grumpy and clearly has zero care about customers came over and just took the plates and said “ JUST PAY AT THE COUNTER! Disnt ask how the food was or if we wanted anything else! Avoid at all cost! Very expensive and very little customer service l!

Really quirky little cafe with all kinds of memorabilia. I was really looking forward to a nice cappuccino and home made cake. However our coffees came in the tiniest china tea cup. Barely two mouthfuls for £3.10!!! I had home made parkin and my husband had scone with clotted cream and jam. The parkin tasted very nice. The scone was very small, very average in taste, and the cream and jam came together in a pot no bigger than a jam jar lid. The cost was extortionate. £13.90 In Malham, a huge pot of tea and a beautiful warm scone (big enough to share,) with lots of clotted cream and jam, was served with a smile at a cost of £8.00 I know where we'll go for afternoon tea in future!

So disappointed the cafe looks very nice but the prices do not represent good value for money. Very small coffee in a teeny tiny tea cup only three quarters full £2.80. Dales lunch advertised as home cooked ham served with cheese and salad £9:50 very thin slice of what looked like supermarket ham you could not even see on the plate about 1oz of cheese chopped salad very mediocre. Tiny bowl of soup broccoli and blue cheese but could have been mushroom? served with pre cut and thinly buttered white roll. Pot of tea for one. Total bill £21.00 We appreciate the price of food has increased as has the general cost of living but this was very poor value for money. We will not be returning

Cannot believe my poor experience today. Have been before but never been so disappointed. Ordered a cappuccino. £3.10 is about average but it arrived in the smallest teacup size I have ever had anywhere. Measured just over 2 inches in diameter. Lot of froth on top, no chocolate, and so only about two thirds coffee which was much more like a milky coffee than the stronger cappuccino. My sister ordered her favourite chocolate melt but was sure it was in a smaller cup than before and has increased 40p in price. Felt staff were quite rude when she decided to argue with us. Not like the friendly staff that used to be there when we first started visiting there. We walk regularly around Gargrave but the poor service, quality and value means that we will no longer be visiting this cafe.

We were really disappointed today in the amount and quality of food we were served. I ordered Welsh rarebit and got ONE piece of toast with cheese on top and a sliver of finely chopped, wilted leaves to serve as a salad. No tomato, no crisps, no coleslaw, no salad dressing at all. And for this I was charged £5.90! There was more empty plate than food. My friends had soup in a tiny bowl with ready buttered bun - again just a sliver of butter. This cafe is charging higher prices which I understand in the current climate but is also cutting the quantity and quality of food which is not OK.

The cafe itself is lovely with lots of character in a good location. It is dog friendly with a lovely log fire and friendly staff. I ordered a toastie but when it arrived I regretted my decision. It was dry thin toast with a small amount of filling with a a tiny bit of wilted salad at a price of £5.90. My friends were also disappointed with small portions at an inflated price for what was on offer. I have rated it as a 3 (average). I would like to rate the cafe itself as a 5 but the food as a 2. I regularly visit cafes and I can say that this has the potential to be one of the best but totally let down by the food. I question the experience of the person who is doing the cooking to let the food go out like mine was served.

Real people with real feelings, a real atmosphere and real food. Not sure why some are trying to discredit this fabulous Cafe but, there you go. If you want mass produced Aerated food then sure Sara Lee is you cup of tea and not this. If you need a change of pace and something very calming and a step back, then this is it. Locally sourced meat and produce. Gentle, local staff that know each other very well. We love ❤️ this place. There’s even an intriguing archway at the back, into a space, that could have been so easily used to cram more tables into to maximise profit but, not here, it’s a curiosity shop of new and Preloved items for sale. Little hidden gems that you won’t find much of, anywhere else, these days. See our picture. I wasn’t even into them but, really felt a time imbued peace and love within each and, just had to bring some of that back home to Hebden Bridge. The owner, at the helm, even gave us the plants you see, from her own terrace outside and we had only met once before. She’s just very creative and passionate about everything she does. So go in with love, harmony and acceptance. We both ate with coffees, yes, two shot ones are bigger so ask if unsure, I like one shots, all for £15.60. Blessings!

Very disappointed with the food:cost ratio. When the menu says currant teacake £2.50 I was not expecting only a half teacake cut into quarters to make is look bigger. Filter coffee £2.50 was in the tiniest china cup - very quaint but very expensive. Pot of tea for one £2.50 is expensive too when you don't have extra hot water to top it up and have another cup of tea. The ham, cheese sandwich for £5.80 was outrageous as the ham was thin and flaky and only a small layer of cheese and ham. The chutney was tasty though.

Pleasant and busy cafe. The menu is basic as a cafe in Yorkshire might rightfully expect to be. Being an optimistic sort I asked if they did non-dairy milk and after a quick check in the kitchen, the waitress came back and said they had 'skimmed or semi-skimmed'. Right you are. Nostalgic 60s soundtrack, roaring fire and pleasant ambience. Beans on toast for me. Gargrave is a pretty village and there don't seem to be many places to go and have a coffee, so I imagine that and the fact that the staff are really very friendly and pleasant explain why it's so crowded - something else I don't really enjoy. You'll like this place if you like old tins and memorabilia - there are more old tins than you can shake a stick at!

For years I have passed by on the A65. Today it was perfectly placed for a bicycle stop. The ambience was great. We were sat on a very small table, but a couple of lovely people invited us to share their table. Then a table by the window came available. So we went there. I told the kitchen staff, and they were cool with that. We'd ordered cheesy beans on toast! That's when disappointment hit. Plastic white bread, about four desert spoons of beans! £4.75! The Eccles cake we had was dry and lacking in filling. The Florentine similarly dry, not chewy at all!

We popped in for something to eat after visiting Gargrave show and what a little gem this place is. It is a cafe and sweet shop but so much more. The whole place is full of memorabilia, with plenty to look at whilst you while away the time. It certainly evoked memories of childhood. The 'Lyons Maid' poster made fun reading, seeing the prices on it. There is also a lovely, quirky walled garden at the rear. The service was very friendly and the food great. I would certainly recommend this tea rooms and will definitely call in again when we are in the area.

A perfect place to fuel up before the Gargrave-Skipton canal walk. Plenty of choice (food and drink, including sweets galore!), and good value for money.

Called in for a latte and ended up with rice pudding as well! The pudding was lovely and creamy, drinks hot and nice. Place clean and unusual due to its layout, also contains a traditional sweet shop.

What a cute little place with so many cafe related antiquities creating such a unique atmosphere. This cafe is just about half way on the Ikornshaw to Malham part of the Pennine Way making it an ideal stop for lunch, I didn't have to carry my usual packed lunch. They have specials on here every day and freshly pressed juice, anyway the lunch was superb so I returned the next day for more of the same.

After picking up a bad injury whilst running the Pennine Way, I needed some ice for my achilles tendon. The staff in the cafe sorted me out with this whilst I sat down and had a cracking lunch.

Good prices for real ale and nice drinks. Great atmosphere, especially on sunny days and really enjoyed the music on the Sunday (Boathouse Jam). Well worth a visit

We were staying in nearby Hebden and there is a wealth of pubs with dining in the area. We were drawn to The Old Hall Inn because of previous good reviews on Trip advisor and we were not disappointed. We had not booked prior to our visit and just turned up on the off chance. The pub was busy with diners but the very helpful young lady behind the bar was quick to find us an available table. The menu offered the usual variety of pies, fish and chips, and a curry or two but we happened to be visiting during National Burger Week and the imaginative chef had at least a dozen burger varieties from around the world, including New Zealand, Germany, Spain and France, there was something to appeal to every burger lover. The burgers themselves were top notch, very meaty and full of flavour and the various toppings were inspiring. This coupled with a very welcome pint of a local brew led to a wholesome and satisfying meal. The service was superb and I would definitely come back to the Old Hall again.
