We walked along the towpath from our campsite and found this brilliant little bar. Right on the canal, lovely views. Small but welcoming, staff were especially friendly. Seating inside and outside on the canal bank. Clientelle both local and visitors. at reasonable northern prices. Definitely recommend a visit.

I came for a drink with my family on Friday, the 12th of July and ordered a pint of lager I paid for contactless and the machine beeped but as I was walking away the lady behind the bar told me it hadn’t gone through and I needed to put my card in I was confused because the machine had beeped but she was very abrupt and I felt hurt with her attitude to me. I think in situations like that it would help if the bar person showed the customer what was on the card machine screen.

So- Gail and I went to Skipton for a week and we found The Boathouse Pub, right next to the Canal. Great range of real ales and cider. Gail found a Mango Cider she loved, myself a couple of ver nice Stouts. Perfect Location to sit, drink and chat to locals and other visitors alike. Staff were friendly and helpful about all the real ales. Samples given to help make your mind up. Would Recommend if in Skipton.

Had a couple of days staying nearby at Pateley Bridge so we drove over to Skipton and specifically to the Boat House . Ordered our usual and favourite Tiller Pin ale . Great pint in lovely surrounds next to the canal side. The staff are so friendly and obliging here . Ask for a new Tiller Pin beer mat and the lady returned with 6 for me. It’s hard nowadays to find a watering hole as nice as this one. Looking forward to visiting Skipton very soon .

What a gem of a watering hole the Boat House bar is. Called there and had a “Tiller Pin” beer. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. So relaxed sitting outside with our dog. Unbelievable cheap beer , had to ask if the price was right after just paying £1.20 a pint more for the most dreadful pint of Landlord around the corner at one of Timothy Taylor’s own pubs. Won’t be going there again. Going back again today to the Boat House at Skipton to sample their fine beers and atmosphere along with old Narrowboat owners 👍👍👍

It was busy and my husband ordered his pint and my lime and soda. After about a quarter of his pint we noticed pink lipstick on the glass, as he wasn't wearing any he took it back. They gave him a new glass and poured him a drink to exactly the amount he handed back.. How petty really and £6.20 a round. My lime and soda was warm and flat..so I just left it on the bar affer a mouthful. I've never been overly impressed with this establishment really and won't be back. Loads of pubs in Skipton to choose from.

It’s a lovely place to sit and have a drink near the canal, but it was ruined by the bar lady who kept having a cigarette in the outdoor seating area, right in front of the serving hatch where people are trying to get a drink. I wouldn’t mind if it was just one, but it was every 5 minutes! She didn’t was her hands after having a cigarette either. Awful, put us off and won’t be going back. Must mention that the manager lady seems really nice & helpful, she’s worked there for ages and clearly works hard. She is not the one who was smoking in front of all the customers.

To be honest, like the ladies behind us, I should have sent the food back and walked out. With my sandwich I got about 10 chips and my wife’s bacon was a pork scratching at best.
