We had a lovely couple of nights in this charming pub/hotel. Our room was comfy, spotlessly clean and warm. The food in the restaurant was excellent both breakfasts and dinners. The staff friendly and the place had a lovely cosy friendly feel. Would definitely return and recommend.

Just returned from a fabulous evening at the Marton Arms. What a gem of a country pub. Stunning location and a wonderful cosy feel to it. Now for the food and service. Top class. The service was exceptional. The 2 front of house staff who served us were absolutely brilliant. ( sorry I didn't get your names ) both were very tentative, chatty and informative, a credit to management for hiring them, as they are the reason we came back tonight for a meal, having experienced their hospitality when popping in for a drink a couple of nights ago. Our meals were beautifully presented and delicious. The bar staff were also fantastic. 5 stars all round. Highly recommended people. Can't wait to return. Keep up the good work guys. Your food and service was exceptional.

This place is absolutely fabulous! The place, the atmosphere, the service were all outstanding. I am allergic to onions and 'Steven' who served us at the table was brilliant! He sat down next to me telling me how much he would do for me to make sure there were no onions near my food. He had a great sense of humour and he was true to his word. The chef made me a bearnaise sauce without shallots, for my steak and my meal was soo good! My husband's meal was also superb. We will defo be returning!

We looked forward to eating here on a Sunday evening. We were also looking forward to tasting the pithivier, however, it was disappointing. There was virtually no cheese, just dark onion and lumps of hard potato. The leeks were however, very nice. The cheese and biscuits were okay, but the biscuits were bordering on stale.

This is a little gem in the Yorkshire dales. We were staying just up the road, so the Marton Arms was the pub within walking distance and therefore first choice for a quick and easy evening meal. What a find. We had not pre booked but were welcomed and shown to a table and a appetising menus left for us to peruse while water and drinks were brought to the table. The food that evening matched the welcome and service and was superb, so much so we booked in for a Sunday lunch a few days later. Sunday lunch of local beef rump and deserts of Apple crumble and sticky toffee pudding washed down with a bottle of red again was fantastic. In short, local food cook simply but extremely well with fantastic service in very pleasant surrounding. What more do you need? Highly recommend.

What an absolute gem of a place! We’ve been several times now when visiting the area and have always had a fabulous experience. The food is wonderful, varied and reasonably priced. The staff are very accommodating and the atmosphere is great. There’s always plenty to choose from and it’s always freshly prepared. It’s just a marvellous country pub doing everything right!!

Staying at the Thornbrook barn caravan site, The Marton Arms was the closest. Firstly we called in for a drink on the way into the village. We were welcomed by Simon, who was friendly and enthusiastic about our 2 German Shepherds (very dog friendly pub) liking the atmosphere and the staff we booked in on the Saturday night for my wife’s birthday meal. Well what can I say, food amazing, staff exceptional, shout out to Simon and Craig, service impeccable and good wine. We could not find fault with anything about the Marton Arms so we booked in for Sunday lunch, if I’m hungry by then. If you are in the area or even close by it is worth the effort, but word of advice, book first to avoid disappointment.

As soon as we arrived, we received a very warm welcome from the delightful Heather and her hard-working staff. This ancient pub is quite rambling and manages to maintain a feeling of history while providing a lot of modern comforts. We had a four poster bed and a lovely old wardrobe in our room. The bar and restaurant are very popular so booking ahead for dinner is a good idea . The Marton Arms offers a bed/breakfast/dinner option which is actually really good value as you get a choice of any two courses from the extensive menu and all the food is of the very highest quality . The helpings seemed generous so my wife and I decided to share a single starter and desert and had a main course each. We were quite full after all that so did the same for our second night too. We were in the area for the hiking and chose the Marton Arms for its proximity to several excellent walks . The famous Ingleton Waterfall way is about 10 mins walk down the road and is definitely worth the 10 pounds fee ( which includes parking if you need to drive there or are too lazy to walk down the hill from the pub )! All in all highly recommended. The only suggestion for improvements was the bed in our room (11) really needed a new mattress, but having said that, we would certainly not hesitate to stay at the Marton Arms again if we were in the area .

Stayed for the one night and at £150 it could be thought of as a little pricey, although this could be a seasonal led tariff. However, our double room was spacious, well furnished and spotlessly clean with an extremely comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent, therefore the 2 main ingredients of B&B were ticked 100%. Overall service was very good from amiable and professional staff. Historic old building in a lovely, picturesque location. Enjoyable value for money stay

Wow! How happy are we that we stumbled upon the Marton Arms?! (Very!!!) Beautiful dining room, warm & attentive service, and the food was absolutely stunning. We arrived around 1:30ish with no booking after having just walked ingleton falls. We were greeted and seated immediately by Craig who served us throughout our meal. Craig provided excellent hospitality, offering great recommendations from both the bar and the food menu, and was always one step ahead meaning we never had to ask for anything! The menu offers plenty of dishes to choose from, however we took Craig up on his recommendation of the Cheese Soufflé and Tomato Bruschetta (starters), followed by the Suet Pudding and Lamb Shoulder (mains), and finishing with Homeycomb Crème Brûlée to share - we could not fault a single thing about our food, everything was absolutely delicious, incredible value for money, and service was timed perfectly well. This was an anniversary meal (albeit we did not make this known), and the service, to the food, to the setting made everything so special for us, we couldn’t have asked for a nicer experience. Thank you Craig and the team at Marton arms for an unforgettable experience. We can’t wait to come back!!!

Was staying nearby and chose this place as they had really good reviews for the Sunday roasts. My wife had the roast beef which was really good. 3 large thick pieces of perfectly cooked pink beef which tasted lovely and had a great texture. Big Yorkshire pudding, plenty of really nicely cooked roast potatoes, loads of veg and plenty of tasty gravy. My mother in law asked if they could do a smaller roast portion as she doesn't eat as much (as the menu didn't show anything like this) and the person serving didn't hesitate and said 'of course'. Her portion was smaller than the regular portion but was still a good amount of food (for a smaller price) I'd already checked out the menu so knew in advance that they didn't do burgers (my normal choice in restaurants) However, they had a specials board which had a burger on it so that's what I had! It was a triple burger with cheese and onion rings. The meat itself was nice and juicy and there was a lot of cheese which was really strong and lovely. The onion rings were massive and really good and the fries were also good. The only issue for me was the burger bun. It was rock solid (literally) and hadn't been buttered so made something that was very dry even more drier. Not sure how it's possible to make a bun that hard! Overall we had a lovely meal. All the staff were really nice and friendly and I would definitely recommend this place and eat here again if we're ever back in the area.

We were in as a large group of 9 on Saturday night. Very impressed with the food. I had fish and Chips and would say the Haddock was fantastic, very good quality fish and nicely battered. Ideal for after a day walking. The service was excellent. We were a large group and always felt well attended to. The young lad looking after the table did a great job. Inside venue is a nice feel... upmarket surroundings but felt welcomed and valued despite not being fully scrubbed up (who is whilst camping!) In terms of constructive criticism it woukd be nice to see one or two more draught beers (especially a Theakston option for me, thats the proper taste of the dales!)

Superb country pub which we stopped at for lunch following a walk in the area on Good Friday. The food is a cut above other pubs and is really restaurant quality but in the comfort of a warm and friendly environment which is tasteful and fresh. The kitchen staff should be commended on their food, the service was also excellent, attentive without being intrusive. The Marton Arms would make a great base to do The 3 Peaks of Yorkshire from if you required accomodation. Great Place that deserves to do well.

A lovely cosy place. Attentive, polite, friendly, smiling staff. The food was excellent, well presented and very tasty. Some things I had never tried so I wanted to try everything on the menu, as it sounded so good, I was salivating just reading through it, definitely not your bog standard british menu. Price wise, with the current cost of living, our meals were fairly good value, however, there is always going to be a gripe and I have 2 of them, there were several meals on the menu that don't come with potatoes & veg so have to pay extra for these, ours were included, also its very rare to get Apple Tart Tatin on the menu with. I instantly knew I was going to have that. It was a 2 person sharer so thought it would be quite sizeable with plenty of apple wedges/slices arranged, fan like, throughout the pan, cooked and turned over with the cooked pastry on bottom. I was so excited & looking forward to this, on its arrival I was somewhat deflated it didnt match up to my expectations, it wasn't heaped with apples, they were sprinkled about, could have done with more and the ice-cream had already melted completely :o( however, the flavours and textures were sublime so I kind of let the disappointment slide somewhat. It cost £15 as a sharer so not cheap. They can definitely improve on this, another dozen apple slices, Come On. Overall, with the quality & flavours of the meals we left very happy.

Yes, the meals were very nice but, unfortunately my Mum's haddock had a large hair in it and then I crunched on a piece of plastic in my beef? My mum was nearly sick at the thought of hair in her haddock and luckily, I didn't break my tooth. We were then offered puddings free of charge, which, actually we didn't want? They should have reembersed our meals. Won't be going there again.

This is the best yet place my pup and i have stayed over. they greeted me by name, didn't need to be told, and gave my puppy a little treat bag. They were so attentive in the restaurant and the food was outstanding

Myself, my wife and son had booked in for dinner at 5pm for when we had finished climbing Whernside. As it was the walk took us longer than expected and had to ring from the top of Whernside to hopefully move our booking to 6pm....

We stayed for 2 nights, lovely clean room with tv, kettle, hairdryer, usual stuff. Staff are really friendly, had 2 breakfasts and 2 evening meals - all fantastic. Pub was lovely and warm with 2 fire burners. Would return and would recommend.

Great place. Fantastic selection of beers and lovely food. They have excellent local knowledge and advised us to take a walk to the local creamery for a fantastic wine and cheese tasting. We will definitely be back.
