Walking down the side of the shopping centre we saw an A board for the Terrace tea rooms Now eating out can be expensive but their offer of 2 meals for £15 with tea was a great deal 3 sausage chips and 2 eggs Scampi chips and peas Large pot of tea Lots of food cooked well quality sausages tasted like blakemans catering sausages from bookers that are excellent Dippy eggs! Perfect peas. Would recommend to anyone and go back again Friendly efficient staff Love the lady with the sauce sachets in her apron 😃 Support and independent business Ghost singer and Julez

Ordered 2 toasties, portion of chips, pot of tea and a cafetier. One of the toasties had MOULD on the bread. Thinking about it, it did have a strange taste! I complained and I was asked if I wanted a replacement, another toastie. I replied no, because of the mould. The waitress apologised for the mould and asked if there was anything else I wanted instead. I asked for a toasted scone. The waitress refunded the toastie and charged me for the scone. I didn't feel this was right as I'd received mouldy food. The scone should have been complimentary. Also I asked about deducting the chips as they were for my toastie. The waitress said my Mum had had some so no.....I informed her my Mum had had only a handful. She was very reluctant to refund the chips. In the end after an apology which wasn't very forthcoming, a refund for the toastie and chips, I cancelled the scone and felt the whole issue was dreadful. I asked who was in charge and she informed me it was herself. Absolutely dreadful customer service! Won't go there again and wouldn't recommend to anybody!!

My daughter took me here for lunch I ordered pot of tea and chicken wrap with chips with salad We sat outside The pot of tea came without a tea bag my daughter went to the counter expecting a fresh pot of tea and got given a tea bag to put in the teapot A waitress came with my grandsons scone and when I mentioned it she just laughed and said it didn’t surprise her I took the teabag and pot back into the counter and asked for a fresh pot Quite rudely I felt, the older woman said we always put the teabag in after the water I asked for fresh water to put my teabag in Which she did but could tell she wasn’t best pleased The wrap was nice, chips where Luke warm and the shredded lettuce was brown Didn’t feel I could complain On our way out I noticed on most of the tables where peopke had had food the lettuce had been left We didn’t bother with desserts Quite disappointed in the service as no one came round to check everything was okay

Great little eatery. The menu choice is comprehensive. I had the wrap with chicken, bacon & cheese which was absolutely delicious & it came with very tasty chips & a nice salad. My mum had a ham sandwich with salad & she said how tasty the ham was & lovely soft bread. We sat outside (which is technically inside) & it was a lovely spot as you could feel the sun shining in & still watch the world go by.

Dreadful!!!!! Arrived a little later than the rest of my party where somebody had ordered a cappuccino without chocolate on top. The waitress brought it over with the chocolate. I said that I would have it instead. The rest of the drinks then arrived but were luke warm. We sent them back and somebody said to the waitress 'it isn't your day today is it'. The waitress took great offense at this. Attempts were made to placate the situation, resulting in another member of the party asking to see the manager. He immediately asked us all to leave. Actually shouting it out. What a way to run a business!!! Won't be returning!!!!

I’ve visited this cafe a few times and every single time we have gone they have managed to get something wrong on a small order, I’d understand if it was busy but the times we’ve gone it never was, plus the food is expensive for what it is so you’d expect the service to be great - it’s such a shame as it’s situated in such a lovely area. The customer service isn’t a great experience either, they forgot to give the marmalade with the toast and gave it 15 minutes after, so the toast was stone cold. I had to ask to get it replaced and they said they’d “see if they could do that”, plus we ended up receiving our drinks after we’d all finished our food, despite ordering it all at the same time. Some of the staff were lovely, but others weren’t. Just unfortunate as I love the outside area and where it’s situated and I’ve tried to give the place the benefit of the doubt by visiting multiple times as I thought it may have just been an off day. Will not be going back.

Oh dear what a negative experience we had in this place- again. We visited this cafe some years ago & had lunch . Turned out to be pretty dire & I wrote a review that reflected this & received a quite frankly offensive reply! We love Skipton & as we were in the town again recently we thought we'd take another look at the Terrace cafe( we fancied a scone & couldn't find anywhere else serving them). We assumed after a number of years the place would either have new owners or improved or both. Ordered 2 Americanos & 2 scones. The coffee was fairly vile & we couldn't finish it. That was nothing compared to the scones. They may have been delicious when fresh but goodness knows how old they were. When will cafes realise that ( obviously) scones need to be made daily, they are simply not edible the next day or thereafter. What made it worse is that they were very expensive- £3.40 for an inedible scone. We would have been more than happy to pay that for a fresh one. Certainly will not be visiting this place in future.

Both were served in a timely manner, served hot, well cooked and presented and tasted delicious. The waitresses were helpfull and pleasant. We sat on the balcony on 20th which was very pleasant just watching the world go by and on 25th we sat inside. Both experiences were enjoyable. Would recomend and return.

My wife and I was visiting Skipton, I was on Business talks for an hour or so, my wife decided to have a small breakfast, she paid immediately on ordering and also gave a small tip at the counter. The breakfast she told me was very nice and she had no complaints till upon leaving through the main entrance a middle aged lady confronted my wife asking "Excuse me, have you paid" now my wife is 69 and got very embarrassed by this, and said "Yes of course, I paid when ordered even leaving you a small tip before eating," now it is not made simple by the fact you can pay before eating or after so the staff will not know who has paid or not "but" asking a pensioner in front of customers "have you paid" is embarrassing so she will not return, thank you

Enjoyed sitting on the 'balconey' however the jacket with prawns wasn't very nice, as it was a microwave one and only partially cooked and instead of nice sweet small prawns they were huge and not very nice, and no butter on the jacket- I'm afraid, however the side salad was nice and fresh! Always our first port of call when we are in Skipton on our way to the West coast. Reading some recent reviews I was worried about the service and food But I'm pleased to say the service and food was as good as it always is. On our first visit I couldn't pass the big breakfast and to say it's a good plateful is no exaggeration, My wife chose a cheese jacket potato and was not disappointed. Our second visit later in the week for the market gave me chance to try the giant Yorkshire with sausage and mash. A real belly filler . The staff as always were friendly and service was quick. Rest assured we will be back .

Called in for a quick sandwich on a brief stop off in Skipton. I ordered a toasted tuna and cheese sandwich - which at £9.75 I thought was on the pricey side. But still, I didn’t have much time so ordered it and waited. And waited. And waited. After 40 minutes I went in to ask where it was. The girl behind the counter went to check in the kitchen and I was told they were just doing it now. After another 10 minutes it turned up, warm around the edges and stone cold in the middle, so much so that the cheese hadn’t even melted. Clearly they’d forgotten about it and tried to rush it. Sorry but for the thick end of £10 for two bits of bread, some tuna and some cheese I’d have at least expected it to have been cooked. I went back to the counter and got a refund. For those prices, just not good enough!

Mum and I stopped here for lunch on Friday 7th June 2024. I had steak pie with chips, beans and gravy and mum had what was described as hot beef baguette with caramelised onion chutney and chips .with drinks this cost £26.50. No one asked if our food was ok but I made a point of going to the serving area and quietly informing the 2 staff that were there that mum had left all her meal as the beef was inedible, dry and tasted funny. I explained that I had tried a piece and agreed . I had to spit mine out into a napkin. Even the tasteless gravy couldn’t make it edible . Surprisingly the best they could do was both say , “oh sorry about that “ then ignore me. I was expecting them to at least offer to get mum a different meal, say that they would check it out, let the manager or chef know or even offer a complimentary dessert or some other kind of action as a good will gesture. Nothing . So I’ve resorted to leaving a poor review and warning friend and family to find somewhere else to eat . This used to be a great place to eat but sadly their standards of food and service have dropped .

As we walked in and sat down we was asked if we wanted food we’d have to order quickly as they was scheduling maintenance in the kitchen and workers was waiting. So we quickly glanced and ordered. We had a h and cheese toastie with salad and the chicken and bacon wrap with chips with A cloudy lemonade and latte. Total order came to £25.05 not sure how but we didn’t exactly have a great deal of time to look at prices. There was nothing necessarily wrong with the food but at the same time nothing special. Average cafe food, I imagine people come for the cake not necessarily the hot food. Standard cup of coffee and small glass of lemonade. Nice area to eat and clean. No issues with the staff as they were all polite. Just for us a little on the pricey side for the food we received.

Had better. The scone was very dry. BLT was ok, but used cheap sliced bread, the mega breakfast had overcooked sausages and tinned tomatoes, which we weren't informed about, and the juices made the hash browns soggy. Worst experience I have ever endured in a café. After recieving our food, my partner asked a member of staff for a plate for the dog to eat off of. The staff member agreed and gave her a plate. During our meal, another member of staff, stopped us eating and rather embarrassed us in front of the shop floor. She stated that the dog eating off the plate was not ok. She kept repeating "that's not ok." In a raised tone. She talked down to us in an awful tone, totally disrespecting us infront of all the other customers. Totally spoilt our meal, my daughter couldn't finish her meal because of how mortified she was, because of how the way we were disrespected. My partner said that another member of staff gave us the plate that we said specifically said was for the dog. She didn't seem interested in explaining to other staff that it wasn't allowed, she was more interested in belittling us in front of others. As we were leaving we were accompanied by amounts of stares that made us feel like we had done something wrong when it was a clear miscommunication that could been handled so much easier. I have travelled across the UK and frequented many bars and cafés and never have I ever experienced impertinence like this before. It put us in quite the unhappy mood for the rest of our day out in Skipton. It says dogs are welcome but it feels like people are not. Definitely will not be visiting again. Unfortunately, I can not give this place no stars, but if I could I definitely would.

We called here for elevenses one morning after going round Skipton Castle. Our visit was only a very brief one and we would like to have stayed longer, as the cafe looked attractive and the staff were friendly. As the name implies, the cafe occupies the upstairs terrace of Skipton's beautifully restored Victorian market hall, now renamed and rebranded as Craven Court. The setting really is magnificent. There's both indoor and outdoor (i.e. terrace) seating, and there's plenty of room for everyone.

Five minutes later she saunters across and asks if she can clean our table - fine, apart from the fact she sprayed myself and my partner with the anti bad spray and flicked crumbs all over me, lovely!! We ordered two bacon sandwiches and 2 coffees, for £17 I was highly disappointed, no butter on the bread, or if there was butter it was minimal! The bacon was awful and so fatty! The bread was brown and you were given no choice in that area... Left really upset we didn’t just nip in to greggs! Thought we would try something different, never again, I’d say avoid if you’re after a nice bacon sandwich that doesn’t break the bank!

The red wine was a bit disappointing but I was in a cafe and not as wine bar so what could I expect. The service considering the current situation was very good. All round it was a good early afternoon snack.

Expensive for what it was, although it is in a nice courtyard setting. Went there yesterday, my wife had the 'homemade' steak pie, which turned out to be a mass produced mince meat one. I had the 3 bean vegetarian chilli, which was delicious although short of liquor. However, it grumbled for the next 7 hours until I eventually threw it all up. Won't be returning. Enough said.

We came here on the final day of the Eat out to help out scheme. We actually enjoyed our meal but no names or phone numbers were taken for track and trace and on going to pay we were told the manager had decided Not to do eat out to help out just on that day. Even though they had signed up to the scheme and partaken in it for the rest of the time and advertised it on their Facebook page. We wouldn't have gone here if we had known this.

We visited The Marton Arms on a Saturday night in May as part of a weekend of celebration for my mums 80th birthday. What a lovely place to go! Great food, beer and service!👍🍺 Heather and the team looked after us superbly. Thank you! 👏👏

Lovely cafe at the top of the high Street. Has two tables for seating outside. Staff were so friendly and welcoming and the carrot cake was to die for! You need to get in early though as the scones sell out fast!

We stayed in a cottage near the pub, it was lovely, really peaceful with a lovely beer garden. Dogs welcome too. Friendly staff, good bar snacks and reasonably priced.

I can only review the pub as I did not stay in their rooms. Visited there to have a hearty lunch after 2 days of Pennine Way walk from Hebden Bridge. It is close to the train station. Staffs are amazing. Will definitely go there again if passing by.
