It was like a trip back in time, waitress service. We had a cappuccino and a cafetiere with slices of Bakewell tart. Whoever iced the tart had been very heavy handed which made it too sweet. Very busy when we went on Wednesday. Reasonable prices.

Very nice cafe. The location is amazing. Lots of nice independent shops in Craven Court. The menu here is extensive. Something for everyone! I went for a jacket potato with cheese and a side salad. The potato was a little on the firm side for me. There is a lift to the mezzanine level.

To be fair, it was one of the few places open on Boxing Day and the staff were working there backsides off but unfortunately I can’t give it too much more in terms of positivity. Cappuccino was…well coffee, the decaf that we ordered wasn’t decaf, Scrambled eggs were fine but that’s about the end of it. Tea cake and scone were heated and ok…I think the least that is said the better. 3 stars for the staff working on Boxing Day

We called here for elevenses one morning after going round Skipton Castle. Our visit was only a very brief one and we would like to have stayed longer, as the cafe looked attractive and the staff were friendly. As the name implies, the cafe occupies the upstairs terrace of Skipton's beautifully restored Victorian market hall, now renamed and rebranded as Craven Court. The setting really is magnificent. There's both indoor and outdoor (i.e. terrace) seating, and there's plenty of room for everyone.

When we arrived here the lady told us we could grab a seat on the terrace and explained it would be self service out here so we would need to go in to order, fine. Five minutes later she saunters across and asks if she can clean our table - fine, apart from the fact she sprayed myself and my partner with the anti bad spray and flicked crumbs all over me, lovely!! We ordered two bacon sandwiches and 2 coffees, for £17 I was highly disappointed, no butter on the bread, or if there was butter it was minimal! The bacon was awful and so fatty! The bread was brown and you were given no choice in that area... Left really upset we didn’t just nip in to greggs! Thought we would try something different, never again, I’d say avoid if you’re after a nice bacon sandwich that doesn’t break the bank!

They were both large slices, but if I'm honest they were nothing special. The best part is where you are, inside a quaint little shopping mall which is perfect for people watching. The staff were nice and the prices were reasonable, not much more to ask for me thinks.

We ended up at the Tea Rooms after being unable to get in anywhere else as it was busy and we hadn’t pre-booked.I had a simple cheese omelette which was very hot, very tasty and plenty of it. The ham sandwich was pretty good, a lot of ham and a decent salad. The red wine was a bit disappointing but I was in a cafe and not as wine bar so what could I expect. The service considering the current situation was very good. Expensive for what it was, although it is in a nice courtyard setting. Went there yesterday, my wife had the 'homemade' steak pie, which turned out to be a mass produced mince meat one. We came here on the final day of the Eat out to help out scheme. We actually enjoyed our meal but no names or phone numbers were taken for track and trace and on going to pay we were told the manager had decided Not to do eat out to help out just on that day. Like many others I took my family to The Terrace Tea Room, Skipton after seeing it was advertised on the government website, Eat out to Help out and also was advertised on its own website as being part of the scheme. After our lunch we had a hefty bill as the manager stated he does not want to be a part of the scheme anymore. It was the last day which we wanted to take advantage of. The food was over priced for what you got and there are much more reasonable and pleasant places to eat in Skipton. We ordered 3 teas but got just a small jug of milk there was hardly enough. Not a place I will be returning to.

We were looking for somewhere to grab a quick bite of lunch. We were in the shopping arcade and decided to give the tearoom a try.I had a hot baguette and it was a good sized portion. Staff were cleaning tables and removing dirty crockery quickly. The place was set out well for social distancing.I had two quibbles really. One was a pile of old chairs stacked up next to seating area with a sign saying that they were for sale. It looked very untidy and was off putting when it was next to your table. The other gripe was the prices seemed a little higher than other places in town for the same (or similar) items. However we actively chose to eat there so paying those prices was down to eat.

When our toasted tea cake and crumpets arrived the butter was solid like it had just come out of the freezer. We put it next to our warm drinks but this did not soften it so I went inside to ask for some butter which hadn’t been in the fridge by which time the food had gone cold. I said whilst asking for more butter that my crumpets were now cold and the two members of staff there gave me some more butter but there was no offer to either warm the food or make some more. My husband ate his cold tea cake but didn’t enjoy it and I only ate one crumpet. Why put butter out which is not spreadable. The table we sat at still had used plates on it and when they were taken away, the table was not wiped. Won’t go back again.

Visited for breakfast as often go here for coffee & cake. When I ordered breakfast waitress said I needed to reel the full order off all at once as otherwise she would have to keep starting again. I was ordering extra bits and bobs so thought best order those at end e.g full breakfast with extra egg & toast etc. Waitress was very abrupt & told me 3 times I had ordered incorrectly. When breakfast arrived I had fried egg, in the confusion of ordering I think I had forgot to say scrambled for my order. I politely asked the waitress if I could change the fried egg to scrambled. She looked very annoyed and said "well you can but it will be a while as he is cooking other people's now". I said this was fine I didn't mind waiting so she took my breakfast back to the kitchen. When she went back to the kitchen I could see her from where i was sat and she looked like she was having a good rant about the egg! She then returned after only a few minutes with my breakfast with scrambled egg. She said "I have been told to tell you that you will have to pay 50p for the egg as the fried one has had to be thrown away" I must admit I was shocked but said ok I will pay the 50p. She didn't then walk away but stayed stood next to the table, I said "sorry do you want the 50p now", to which she replied "yes please" so I had to fumble through my bag whilst breakfast now going cold! We tried to leave feedback regarding the whole ordeal and the waitress got the owner to come out as she said it was him who had asked me to pay for the egg. He was just as rude, would not let me speak and swore in front of other customers. Due to the treatment we received we sadly will not be returning. Also paid £3.80 for 4 slices of toast (toast comes as an extra not included in price of breakfast), which I think is ridiculous. Such a shame that rude staff are ruining what was and could still be a nice cafe.

We decided to grab a bit of an early lunch here as we passed through Craven Court. It looked quaintly decorated, the menu was good and prices were fairly cheap. We sat next to the window, the place was empty apart from us so we could've sat anywhere really but we like a bit of people watching! I was pregnant at the time so a bit fussy with what I ate - I ordered the soup of the day which, when it came out, was a beautifully thick broth full of chunky veg and barley - it was lovely! The thing that let the place down for us was the awkwardness! Once she'd taken our order, the waitress went and stood at the bar that was directly opposite our table, just stood there, facing us! She left to get our food when it was ready but then once again returned to her spot right next to us! This wouldn't have been so bad if there had been others eating there too, or some music playing but it was stone quiet! So the whole time there we felt rather uncomfortable! Hence we didn't stay to order any of the lovely cakes on the menu. I would definitely recommend for the food but perhaps choose your seat more wisely!

Was charged £20 and when I said the board outside says £12 plus drinks the waitress was very rude and said well you didnt ask. As you can see from the photo the board doesnt say you need to ask. When asked to refund the extra the waitress was still trying to stop me having the deal advertised and was huffing and puffing as if it was such an incovenience. As I walked away she said you wont be getting salad on that deal. Overall average food. Much better places elsewhere.

Popped in for lunch, place nice and environment, very busy which is a good sign. The food was okay, nothing wrong at all, i think the presentation of the meal let it down actually if im honest. The food looked nice but was squeezed onto a very small plate almost child size. The portion size was fine and i think it was done this way to appear larger but would have been better on bigger plate with same size portion as very difficult to eat without spilling on the table. More flexibility on slight changes to food choice would help also as very rigid. Staff friendly and in a nice little area to people watch.

Popped in for a quick lunch. Limited menu, but gammon bap, scotch broth and pigs in blankets were all good and hearty. Great double-cooked chips with all. Prompt and efficient service. Difficult to fault.

Excellent place to eat, very friendly and clean. We came for a family meal. The waitress with blonde hair that served us were very professional, polite and organised. Very attentive to my allergies. The kids meals were a good size, with a piece of fruit and cucumber on the side. The adult meals very well presented, delicious hot food thank you to the chefs. All freshly cooked. The drinks very prompt to the table too. A great selection of food to choose. For desert plenty of fresh cakes, scones and ice cream to choose from. Thank you to Mike the owner for making us feel very welcome and having a laugh with us. We were very happy with our visit. Will come again. They have a little children corner with children kitchen and few other toys too. Once again thank you. See you soon.

Visiting Skipton for the day, I couldn’t pass this café without going in! I treated myself to a hot chocolate and four from the loose chocolate counter: expensive, but delectable.
