Nice coffee and bacon & sausage sandwich for a break on a Wednesday market day.

Had coffee. It was good. The food smelled delicious.

We ended up going in two days in a row as we couldn't do the clay painting on the first day. It's a great place for all ages. However, especially if you have children. My son lost interest in painting after 20 minutes. However myself and my wife were cutting it fine to finish by the 1 1/2 hour limit. We would definitely go again.

Stopped for lunch....lots of food envy from the plates being served!! Had an excellent toastie!!!

Called in today near close of business. Awful cold wet rainy day. Hot food had finished being served fair enough,so we just had drinks, 1 x. Hot chocolate with all trimmings lovely, but asked for a milkshake chocolate one, disappointing 😞 came in a plastic take away container with paper straw, tasted powdery not a nice experience I'm afraid milk shake had no ice cream in it and no ice milk was warm not nice at all. I'm afraid. Would have looked better in a glass milkshake glass than plastic.

Had a nice time painting pots Then wanted to stay for food afterwards Door pinned open. It was 7 degrees outside everyone sitting indoors had coats on and were being served hot food.. when I asked the owner Nils if it would be possible to close the door he bluntly said no because he and the staff were warm… we chose to avoid staying and went elsewhere for warmth and friendlier customer service. Thanks

Nice cafe but be aware that toilets are up some steep stairs.

Lovely cafe. The food was very nice. The veggie chili was quite spicy but really really nice! Lasagne was great too and a very tasty salad on the side. Not enough room for cake but they did look fab

Lovely little café with a pottery studio upstairs. The coffee, bacon & beans on toast and the coffee & walnut cake we're all delicious.

Location is terrific. Service was pretty good. Coffee was okay.

We loved this café when we stayed in Skipton, our children had a great time doing the pottery, and the cakes were fabulous. The gluten free options were delicious especially the sandwiches. The staff are so friendly too. Definitely recommend 👌

Very busy and quite noisy when we called for lunch. I'm afraid there are too many tables in too smaller place. We have been going to Coffee & Clay for a number of years now, but I'm afraid to say that it's not the pleasant and relaxed dining experience it once was.

This is one of our favourite cafes when we visit Skipton. We had a coffee and cake-excellent. Service friendly. There was a class operating upstairs which looked very interesting.

Awsome family atmosphere painted pots and they were delivered to us fully glazed within a week unbroken

So different. A lovely little cafe with a pottery painting annex. We were just in for coffee and cakes. Good coffee and cake served by friendly and efficient staff. Would definitely use again.

This is a nice friendly cafe with nice food but I think quite expensive. I had a sausage on a barm with one slice of cucumber with half a cherry tomato and this cost almost £6, it was nice but should have been half the price, cup of tea was nice. My wife enjoyed her soup (leak and potato) again very expensive for what she got. One major problem is with the table tops, they are very sticky, the style of the table has a painted top and the wood has lots of cracks and spaces that I guarantee the tables hold more food than the actual cafe, the surface is so sticky that we could not even slide the plates on it, the tables definitely need changing for some that can be cleaned properly.

We both had different salads which there was plenty of, it was very nice and well presented.

First time , but food and service first class, will visit again, well done.

Although a pleasant enough cafe I believe an additional 95p per person for plant milk (soya,etc) on your drinks price is extortionate. It's often at no extra cost, or a fraction of this charge.

Very nice place for a coffee, but like most places we've found in UK, more expensive than we would have expected from previous visits. But then again, everything thing has increased in price quite significantly since Covid

Amazing food, delicious cake and excellent customer service. Polite, fast and efficient. Popped in for lunch was greeted immediately by the lady at the till plus the lady who was on her break. Excellent selection of food choices will come next week to try something else on the menu :)

Nice little cafe where you can also paints pots if desired. We both had walnut cake and delicious hot coffee just as we like it. Toilet is up steep stairs so not very disabled friendly. Lady who served us was attentive and friendly. Clean and tidy environment.

A quaint and atmospheric cafe with friendly staff and good food. We randomly popped in on a Sunday whilst travelling through Skipton and wasn't disappointed. The food was tasty with a good selection. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pottery painting was a cool vibe. I'd definitely visit again

Great cafe in Skipton, well priced and some really fab cake offerings. With kids, we sat at a ow table towards the back, ideal for then to sit and draw/colour allowing us to enjoy a decent coffee. The clay workshop is on the first floor, you can come here for just the ground floor coffee shop!!

Called in for a coffee, ended up having lunch, corned beef hash was lovely as was the bread, coffee would have been better if it had been warmer, staff friendly and service was good even though pretty busy..

Called in following recommendation from stall holder on market. We ordered a couple of cheese toasties, sadly the worst we have ever had. There was hardly any filling in thin sliced white bread. Was just like eating flavoured soggy toast.Although a further 80p could be paid for extra filling, but at a cost of over £6 each with some salad as you usually get thought would be ok. Cost over £18 for the toasties and 2 tea's.

We had a toastie the bread was like a wafer, and what they called cornedbeef hash, was way too sweet and obviously they'd never seen a traditional recipe, its a nice place and we'd choose differently next time.

Visiting son and girlfriend and were looking for somewhere to eat that catered for wife's dietary issue. They were very helpful and accommodate all our needs and food was really good. It ca get crowded but nice bright and clean place to have coffee, tea and food.

Decent coffee, toasted teacake and bacon sandwich but counter staff attitude left a lot to be desired....won't be coming back. Customer service clearly needs an update...goes a long way to smile and be pleasant with your customers.

This may seem a strange place to 'celebrate' your 9th wedding anniversary but given the tradition of 'pottery' it was perfect!! We booked in the day before for 9.30am, the lady showed us to our table, explained how it all worked, and off we went! We chose our respective clay models and set about painting them for each other. It was very personal to us and a very unique anniversary present, we do have to go back in a week to pick them up after they've been in the kiln, but it's only an hour for us, and they do offer a postal service if you're further away. Brilliant experience and we never stopped smiling throughout the painting process 😁

Called on Saturday about 1.30pm for two cups of tea, no food required which the boss man at the counter did not appear to appreciate. We were served two half full cups of tea eventually by the same man who said I will top them up with hot water, needless to say this was not done. There was plenty of spare seating so we were not depriving the cafe of income.

Fantastic food and drinks. Service was super friendly and welcoming. 100% recommend. Very reasonable prices.

Nice place and cozy rooms. Fast service, delicious coffee and cakes. Shortbread cookies WOW! I recommend taking the children with you because there is an opportunity to paint the dishes and create nice memories.

Excellent! Speedy service, fantastic food! We had the savoury muffins with salad and soup - absolutely delicious! The sandwiches were beautifully home made and everything was fresh :) The children’s ‘lunchbox’ was perfect. Great value for money!

I had a Tuna sandwich which came with a lovely side salad and was very fresh. Nice staff and was lovely to sit outside and watch Skipton walk by. Very nice.

An original take on the coffee bar provision on the main Street of Shipley. The coffee was good and hot. The twist is the pottery aspect. Children's pottery parties are different.

Was in skipton on a date day and came a roos this place whilst looking for a place ro grab a coffee. As we are quite random we decided to go in and enquire. It was midweek so not as busy and we were led upstairs where the magic happens. You choose whatever pottery it is you'd like to decorate then sit and paint it whilst eating cake and drinking coffee (if you want to). After a week you can go and collect it or they'll post it out to you. Thry recommend booking for weekends or school holidays but walk ins are accepted when quiet. A great idea, friendly, welcoming staff and homemade cake too. Going back to collect our design and planning on staying and making another.

Saturday afternoon, 6 of us(3 children), we sat outside as it was a nice day,we went in and ordered our food, 25mins later nothing had appeared, I went inside to enquire where our drinks and food were,the manager said he'd find out,5mins later he came out and asked us the details of our order again,another 20 mins later and he finally appeared with our food,no apology, nothing! I had to go and put new tickets on the cars as our time had run out,nobody even offered a free drink or a discount to help with the grief of 3 children bored to tears at thispoint! I will notbe returning there again.

Visited today with my mum and partner. My mum has dementia. All the members of staff were absolutely lovely. Especially the two ladies who took the time to converse with us all and especially with my mum. They were really lovely. We only had drinks and a toasted teacake but will definitely return on our next visit. My mum was supper happy which was lovely for us too. Thank you.

the chef bakes the best cakes I have ever tasted in my life, if you ever want to visit a creative place where you can have a good cup of coffee and enjoy a wonderful cake this is that space, without a doubt coffee and clay my favorite place to delight my palate with exquisite cakes.

I have to echo the sentiments of a lot of other reviews about this place, it's eye wateringly expensive for what it is. If you are going to charge £5.75 for a bacon and sausage sandwich then it has to be absolutely top quality and it certainly wasn't. The sausages were the cheap spongy ones you get in a chip shop and the bacon overdone. I asked for brown sauce on my sandwich which wasn't on. But got a random slice of cucumber with my sandwich, which I found quite odd. Overall staff friendly enough but massively over priced for what it is.

A great little cafe for when you just need to sit down from walking/shopping and grab some wholesome food and a warm drink. Staff were polite, friendly and welcoming. Ample seating, which is bright and airy. Customer toilets upstairs, and seating outside for when it’s sunny. And dogs are welcome (outside) from what I could see. Would definitely go back again. The egg mayo sandwich on brown was simply delicious!

Great experience for the kids with them being able to paint their chosen piece of pottery. Ours chose a tractor and a princess.

As a group of 6 ordered (via a very unwelcoming male member of staff, curt and abrupt) various hot drinks. 20 minutes after sitting down the drinks arrived. Had to ask for milk for the tea but another drink (a more expensive hot chocolate 'special') was wrong and was pointed out finally changes for a smaller 'ordinary' but no apology or offer of reimbursement (£2.10). Hope they put that excess into their next staff training budget, though with the attitude in there and previous reports will they get anymore customers. Very sad as when we first moved to Skipton C&C was the best coffee shop.

I chose this cafe as I felt it looking lovely & cosy. Unfortunately I found the staff quite rude & unwelcoming. I was ignored for quite a while whilst waiting to place an order then half my order arrived without any explanation that the rest would soon follow. No idea how they run a business with this kind of customer service. Shame it’s not like a similar one in Haworth with friendly staff.

Superb coffee, with exceedingly good service. It's always nice if you are served by an interested, smiling & chatty person. A perfect relaxing spot for anyone visiting Skipton. A very pleasant location.
