Popped in on a wet Sunday afternoon to this great village pub. Super food and service, Lovely atmosphere.

Good pub food friendly staff and good value

Lovely traditional pub. Good choice of draught beers. Food menu has Good options and was very tasty. Only downside was the 45 minute wait . Staff very friendly and helpfull.

Fantastic proper local Yorkshire pub serving great food and great beers. Very busy, so book if you want to eat, we had two visits here for food and both were excellent. The Yorkshire tapas was awesome and huge! Sunday lunch was one of the best we've had. Definitely recommend.

We came for something to eat and drink with my partner and his mum and step dad. The food was amazing. Only gave 4 stars because children aren’t aloud so I couldn’t bring my 13yr old son.

Food is amazing here, had a meal last night and a lunch today. Proper home cooked food. Lovely atmosphere, we are staying at a lodge just up the road which is in walking distance to the pub.

Wow, so pleased we stopped off here for a bite to eat on our journey from Cumbria to Skipton . Such a friendly, welcoming place with great food. Will definitely call again.

First time in Gargrave as we were attending a wedding night do . Was very impressed with just how friendly the staff and local were at The Masons Arms. The pub itself was great, really old country pub with beams and brasses everywhere. Our room was lovely and the bed was extremely comfortable. Gargrave is a wonderful hidden gem and The Masons Arms is a pub where we'd stop again... thank you for making our stop an extremely pleasant one...it was perfect. And please pat Dorothy the dog for us as she was lovely, hehe

Walked here from Skipton and had a fabulous homemade lunch with excellent cask beer. Highly recommended!

We called in here after a spa at a nearby hotel and we were super impressed! The service was great, and the place was bustling for a Wednesday evening, we got the last table. Food took a while to come but was worth the wait! The cod loin was absolutely superb and my partner had the steak pie, he was also really happy. We will be back again for sure!

Loved every minute of our stay. The room had everything that we needed. The pub itself has the most amazing atmosphere. The repartee and friendly chat was so warm and welcoming. Food excellent.. yes, you do need to wait quite a while between ordering and getting your food, but everything is cooked fresh and well worth waiting for We stayed for 6 nights and will be back. (Hermione, the young waitress deserves a special mention as she made us feel so welcome.

Excellent food, good value and friendly atmosphere. Service was slow, after 15 mins had to ask for menu. Once ordered food to 45 mins to serve.

Booked In here for a weeks break. We certainly hit the jackpot. Quite happy with our room in the courtyard as it was near to our car for easy access. (I have a slight mobility problem). The atmosphere in the bar is very warm and friendly. We loved the banter. Never a boring or dull moment. Breakfast was good but the evening meals realky topped the shop. During our 6 night stay we tried steak and kidney pudding, 3 sausage and mash with Yorkshire pudding (that really hit the taste buds), cheese and onion pie and steak pie. That lassie sure can cook!!! The staff are so friendly but not too imposing. We especially loved our little waitress Hermione!!

What a gem! It's rustic and quite basic, but it's awfully cosy, and the food is just amazing 👏 I've never had a bad meal there, and the staff are what Northern friendliness is all about. Love it!

Without exception the best meal we have ever had in a pub the Mason Arms in Gargrave North Yorks. Everything second to none!

During our stay in Gargrave we ate in all three restaurants and although the Indian Restaurant was the best, the Masons Arms was the better pub grub, for quality, price and service. It also had a better selection of ale, although that is obviously personal taste. Wouldn't hesitate to eat here again.

We just turned to ask for a table and luckily someone was just leaving and we were in and we were very lucky the food was fantastic we had Sunday lunch. I’ve never had so much beef ever and it was so tender the mash was soooo lovely the honey glazed carrots mmmm the gravy mmmm the roasties were mmmm 😋. The veg 😘 we never stayed there we were just there for lunch. The pub was great the staff were great the atmosphere was great if I’m ever passing this way again I will certainly be back oh and the giant Yorkshire pudding was brill Thankuuuuu Mark

I heard a kid say the roast beef was the best he'd ever had so I obviously based my food choice off that. I must say It was a spectacular roast beef!

Visited on holiday the whole family were made to feel welcome, lovely service, lovely food, lovely atmosphere thank you so much.

We called in here after a receptionist recommended it to us from the hotel nearby. We turned up without booking a table but were welcomed by the team. The Food is absolutely delicious and service was amazing and everyone so friendly what a lovely traditional English pub cant recommended enough.

Having spent the day in Gargrave (a childhood holiday haunt), decided to get something to eat al fresco at The Masons Arms. Ordered a fish pie and a lasagna, both arrived roasting hot after being freshly cooked, and both went down a treat! The pub has a good range of beers, lagers and ciders (nice to have a choice and not be fobbed off with the usual draught Strongbow). Location scored 4/5 due to having a fair few flies buzzing around (only to be expected, but perhaps a citronella candle/lantern could be delivered to outside diners to alleviate this small issue). Recommended - both meals were delicious and stayed hot until the last mouthful! (No photo of the fish pie - it was dived into too quickly!)

We both had a beef sandwich with gravy and onions and chips. The food was delicious and well worth the money definitely highly recommended people come here for lunch,

Dined here on the advice of the front desk staff of a different hotel. After a week touring small towns in England, we all agreed this was the best food, yet. Fresh, well prepared, delicious. Scallops, fried fish, tomato soup, and Chicken pot pie were all fantastic. Highest recommendation 😋😋😋😋😋

Lovely friendly village pub in Gargrave. We had the Lasagne with a portion of chips. The food was delicious and definitely home made. The chips were some of the best chips I’ve had in a long time. So we had to have dessert. We will definitely come back again.

Called whilst on holiday in the area and based on reviews seen. We were not disappointed. Nice atmosphere good friendly service and excellent food.

Decided to try this pub. Although menu good the portions were more like child portions yet the price was Lake District prices. This is not on a main route to attract tourists so I thought should be better priced. I eat all over the country and felt this was over priced for what you get. Did not realise at time but they clearly overcharged us for the drinks according to menu on line so not a great experience.

The barmaid was too busy with her conversation to serve me. That was just downright rude. I walked out and won't be back ever.

Stopped off at the Masons Arms for a meal and drink on our holiday visit had a nice steak and ale pipe but were very disappointed with the cost of our drinks at £8.00 for two half's of shandy is to much so will not be visiting again.

Great Yorkshire Dales traditional pub, good mixture of local characters and tourists. Excellent Timothy Taylor beers and other rotating guests. Have never eaten but the food looks and smells great. Dog friendly.

Called in for lunch Monday 13th, this was one of our favourite places to eat, not any more, food was terrible, fish and chips, plate was absolutely red hot, couldn't cut thru the batter because it was that hard, chips over cooked, brown, table dirty from last diners,

Very nice Pub. Unfortunately because of our nationality we were charged £8 for a pot of earl grey tea which is an absolutely ridiculous price. All in all a very kind service and a racist barkeeper ✌🏼🇬🇧

Dinner, 8 pm, weekday. No clear direction if you get seated, order at the bar, or seat yourself. Turns out all drinks are ordered at the bar. Wing it for the seating. And check out at the bar. Service lackluster in general. Slow to take the order. Meal took 40 minutes to arrive. Not fresh tasting, flavorful, or presented in a way we've come to expect with pub fare. Wasn't checked back on by staff or directed how to pay. Had salmon and smoked haddock fish cakes on some odd chowder something that wasnt flavorful. Side of garden greens which turns out was steamed and not seasoned bowl of misc greens. Had much better experience at The Bull followed by Old Swan. Wouldn't come again.

Absolutely superb food and a wonderfully warm welcome. We booked for a large party, including dogs and kids. Quality of food (Inc Sunday roasts) was superb. I wouldn't usually leave a review, but definitely worth it for this one.

I booked a table for dinner late on a Sunday with my 12 year old son when we were visiting the area. I had a roast dinner and he had a burger. Both of our meals were absolutely delicious. Portion sizes were great too. The food alone was enough to make us re-book for dinner again the following day, but the warm welcome absolutely sealed the deal. When we arrived again on a Monday night, we were greeted like regular customers. My son had the burger again and I had the steak pie - the food more than lived up to expectations. I could have licked the gravy boat as it was so good! Thanks very much to everyone who worked there - we will be back when we are next in the area. (Note to the gentleman behind the bar - I hope you have tried the IPA shandy now, it's honestly really nice!)

Just returned from a 2 night break at The Masons Arms. After a long journey from Wales, we were warmly welcomed by the landlord. Roaring log fire burning in this lovely rustic pub, so we sat and relaxed with a couple of drinks. All of the staff here are very helpful and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was nice & warm. The village of Gargrave is a great base for exploring the beautiful Dales. Thoroughly enjoyed our mini break!

Warm Yorkshire welcome, lovely pint of beer and great food. Delicious Game Pie was a treat and the haddock and chips was very tasty. Thoroughly recommend lunch here.

We visited the Masons Arms, Gargrave on a couple of evenings when we were staying nearby at Gallaber Park. The meals, service and atmosphere were all excellent. We plan on eating there again when we are next in the area.

Our first visit and it was lovely. We had an evening meal, a burger and the chicken breast and both were delicious. A lovely welcoming atmosphere, great food and a friendly place. Will call again.

Great lunchtime pint (or two) and a hearty sandwich. Staff pleasant, looking forward to another visit.

Nice relaxed atmosphere. I'm from Somerset. When I walked into the bar, there was Thatchers Cider , I knew then there was a god. People are friendly but then again you're in Yorkshire so it isn't a surprise. Nice seating outside and on a hot day a nice cold pint of cider and it's perfect.

Three of us had excellent meals in the busy lively bar area. The bar area of the pub has an open fire and is very dog friendly. There is a good range of well kept real ales with the normal array of lagers etc

The food was excellent!! Our meals were piping hot, honestly, couldn't have been nicer.. All the staff we're very polite and friendly. The atmosphere was great..We highly recommend anyone to come here.

Me and my husband stayed here in the B&B part 4 years ago and loved the atmosphere of the pub. Today we decided to go back with family and our dog to have Sunday lunch. This place is a lovely village pub with fantastic meals which are big servings at a good price. The Sunday roast are amazing everything about it was delicious topped off with a massive fruit crumble and custard. This lovely little pub is dog friendly with a area where dogs are not allowed if you are allergic or not found of them. I would suggest however that you book a table in advance especially if you want to take your pooch with you as it becomes fully booked quickly. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Definitely highly recommend staying or visiting just for the food and atmosphere.

My family & I have been going to this fantastic place for 10 yrs when we are in the area. We went today after a long spell of not going as we haven't been in the area for a while. I had actually forgotten how amazing the food is here. The Sunday Roast was the best I've eaten and the portion size was huge. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It's definitely a little gem of a find and once you have been here you will definitely make a number of return trips. One thing to definitely try is the cheesy chips, they are something else.
