The Craven Heifer Inn in Craven

We spent the night in a twin room. On arrival the pub was a bit busy but the landlord took the time to welcome and show us the room. The room was clean and the en-suite whilst not the biggest was clean and functional. After a great night's sleep the full English breakfast was really good. We would certainly stay again.

A nice place to stop off for a meal/drink while exploring the Yorkshire Dales and the nearby Ribblehead Viaduct. I don’t know about the crooks but the bar/restaurant was good, friendly staff and a comfortable atmosphere.

Great pub/restaurant had dinner & breakfast at the Carven Heifer both absolutely delicious. I had steak pie which was homemade filled to the brim with pieces of steak and the best homemade chips I have tasted, would recommend anyone to eat here and we will definitely be returning!!

Very friendly barman, cook and resident dog, Bonnie. We hadn't booked a table for a Friday Lunch for 6 people but we got seated straight away. A lovely real fire crackling to warm us up. The menu was decent with all the usual staples and the food was absolutely spot on. Nicest burger I've had in a long while. The pub seems to be divided into two main indoor areas, the Lounge (incorporting the restaurant) and the Bar (eith pool table, darts & Sky TV. Ideal for hungry/ thirsty walkers or tourists to Ingleton wanting great no-frills pub and grub!!

We walked in for a lunch today and were chuffed to bits to find such a hearty traditional pub menu. The landlord and chef were both very welcoming and friendly. We both chose the steak and ale pie and it was excellent. It came with home cooked chips which were just like those my Mum made. The meals were good value for money and delicious. The whole lunchtime experience was faultless. Thank you

We visited last week, despite being full of cold we both just fancied a beer in the warmth and a good game of pool. We were welcomed both days by the locals and felt part of the banter both days, becoming part of the community as we bumped into them in other restaurants or pubs. We would very likely come back and stay here now we know “The Team” and beer and “free” pool is a winner. Benn and Natalie.

Wonderful place to stay. The hosts are super friendly, as are the locals. The food is great, proper home cooked hearty meals. Oh and extremely dog friendly. Recommend!!

January 2025 Me and my husband just had a really good meal at this lovely place. We both had lasagne with home made chips,garlic bread and salad. Very filling and satisfying. Owners very friendly and lovely to talk to. Will definitely be back. Did not know that it was a bed and breakfast establishment so will probably book a room next time we are coming to ingleton

Great atmosphere with the DJ playing old school music and a free buffet to boot.

Cracking pub . Me & the wife called in with my two golden doodles & the landlord couldn’t have made us more welcome. Fresh water put down for the dogs before serving us really polite bloke couldn’t do enough for us highly recommended .Not many pubs left with a tap room and separate best room

Wouldn’t recommend booking Craven Heifer as it was cancelled 3 days before my visit. It had been booked for 8 weeks. Phoned up to be told renovation work going on. But had an email to say they had overbooked. Drove past and the pub was open with no sign of work going on. Very disappointing!!

Fab 🤩 afternoon of Guinness 🍻, music and food. A visiting group of acoustic musicians 🎶🎸🪗🎻🪕 provided impromptu entertainment. The food (I had steak & ale pie with chips 🥧🍟) was excellent, well priced and nicely presented. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. We'll be going back!

After a lovely walk along the ingleton trail it was time for a well deserved drink and lunch. We popped in here and I ordered the mix grill and boy it didn’t let me down. Very large and cooked to perfection. After the food stop we popped inside for a few beers chosen from the smoke of real ales and played pool and darts, a great afternoon. The landlady and landlord were extremely amicable. If we are ever in the area again would most definitely come in.

Just been to the Craven Hiefer in Ingleton. Went to watch football and were entertained by both staff and locals. Haven’t been in as good a local pub in a long time.

We called in for something to eat only to be told they'd stopped doing food at 5pm on a Sunday so had to look for somewhere else.

Amazing little gem in the center of Ingleton, thr owners are lovely people, the food was delicious, the rooms are well kept and inviting. 100% staying there again next time.

We didnt book, just walked in and was seated. They had run out of a lot of stuff, sunday lunch, sticky toffee, apple Crumble, fruit shoots. This didnt effect us though as we wanted something else. The scampi was delicious . Sat in the dining room, was a little chilly. The staff jess was so helpful and friendly

Ok pub in dales making a living worth a visit

This Inn does the best Sunday dinner in Ingleton. The staff are always kind and welcoming. The food is great. I would recommend the sticky toffee pudding for dessert too. Can't wait to go back.

it's been a while since we've eaten here but booked as we hadn't been since it changed hands/was done up. The food was great, all 5 of us left stuffed & satisfied. The fish & chips was amazing, one of the best restaurant F&C i've had! Service was spot on & the prices weren't bad! We ate at Wheatsheaf the following day, paid the same prices for a much poorer standard of food!

Whilst staying in our Motorhome near Ingleton we decided to visit the Craven Heifer in the village and what a find.The landlady Lynne was very welcoming and couldn't do enough.The meal was first class my wife and I had Gammon,egg and homemade chips and lasagne. Now we have had this meal before in other establishments but never to this standard,we would not hesitate to return.

This is now our 4th stay with Lynn and her team in 3 years. We were greeted with the fantastic warm welcome that we have come to expect. Rooms are clean and airy. They are compact but have everything you need. I particularly like the fresh milk and water in the fridge. There are a good range of beers and gins served in the bar. We didn't eat there this time but I have no reason to believe that the food would be anything but excellent as it was during our previous 3 visits. Lynn must be doing a lot right to keep us coming back for more.

We came here for an evening meal whilst camping in ingleton. Two adults and a 3 year old. We were made to feel very welcome by the barmaid who showed us to our table. She took our order promptly and the food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. We had the steak and ale pie, bacon wrap and a kids lasagne. All food was piping hot and tasted delicious. The sticky toffee pudding and ice cream I shared with my 3 year old was gorgeous!! Fairly priced for the quality of food and good portion sizes. The pub looks dated, but don't let that put you off. Would come again!

Booked a room very last minute, Lynn the owner couldn't have been more friendly, welcoming and helpful, stayed over one night as we were due to go on a hot air balloon ride, unfortunately this was cancelled at the last minute. No problem with the room very clean and had everything we needed, will definitely be staying here again if we're in the area.

Had lunch here. When for the roast beef and Yorkshire puddings. Was all delicious. Not sure why there are roast potatoes + mashed potatoes + sweet potatoes all on the plate. Perhaps a carrot or two are needed to avoid potato overdose? Decent quality food either way. Service was quick and efficient and staff friendly. Toilets clean. Kids menu available.

Stayed here in 2015. Then the rooms were small but good. The Pub is nice. Breakfast. Diner. A beer. All fine. What more do you want.

We came in and we’re welcomed really nicely, then shown to a table for us all. Our drinks order was taken and brought promptly. The staff took our food order and helped organise food for our son who has many intolerances. I was really impressed and would recommend the minted lamb shank to anyone. My family ate all on their plate and enjoyed everything.

We visited the Craven Heifer twice during our stay in Ingleton. We were welcomed warmly and the service was friendly and efficient. Our dog was made particularly welcome and given a bowl of water and a biscuit. We ordered the chicken burger and fish and chips and we enjoyed them. It’s a local amenity which deserves to do well.

superb stay at the Craven Heifer in Ingleton, Lynne and her staff are wonderful (even when the pub restaurant is full and full of shall we say unruly children with parents that dont care), if your thinking of staying in Ingleton then i wouldnt hesitate to book here as its central to everything and like i said earlier Lynne and her staff are great. we will be back.

Great lite pub in the heart of Ingleton, fantastic selection of beers and ales served by friendly and helpful staff, definitely worth a visit and highly recommended.

We stayed one night at the Craven Heifer and really enjoyed it. Very nice lady and the pub is very cozy. I also give this review as a small compensation of the obvious vile reviews of the same group of friends that all reviewed before me with a single star. It says very clearly you can't eat food bought somewhere else on this premise.

Highly recommended for a good drink and pub food, served well. We have a Bed & Breakfast and suggest that our guests book for dining in advance so that they know they've a table and always give us positive feedback for the normal menu and Sunday roasts.

We came there just to eat and both the service and the food were on spot. I've ordered fish and chips, haven't had such good chips in a long time, just like at home! The owner was very accommodating, nice and attentive. I would highly recommend the food!!!!

Nice friedly atmosphere and great food. My wife had the sirloin steak and it was cooked to perfection. I went for the steak and ale pie. Absolutely delicious accompanied with home made chips and a delightful mixture of vegetables. The service was good and overall excellent value.

We were visiting Ingleton with another family so there were eight of us in total (four adults and four children, with ages ranging from 5-9yrs old) It was our first visit and we hadn’t booked but Lynn was super welcoming when we turned up and couldn’t have been more accommodating. She was so friendly and lovely with the kids. The menu had plenty of choice and the food was delicious - I’d even go as far as saying it was the best home cooked pub food we’ve had! Three of the four adults ordered starters - black pudding, salmon fish cake and halloumi - followed by sausage & mash, beef balti and beef & ale pie for main. The kids ate chicken nuggets, burger and scampi. We even squeezed in some desserts - chocolate brownie, pineapple sorbet and apple crumble. Portions were generous, all food was cooked fresh to order and the home cooked chips were the best we’d eaten - no wonder they have won awards! The kids enjoyed their meal so much they begged us to return the following night which we did!! This time we sampled the nachos, black pudding and soup (mushroom) to start, followed by chicken burger, scampi and gammon for main. All the kids had chicken nuggets followed by more chocolate brownie and pineapple sorbet! Another faultless meal! A real little gem in this beautiful little village and a must visit! Can’t recommend this place enough! Thank you Lynn and team, it was a pleasure to meet you and dine with you for two nights!
