The Flip Side Crepes in Craven

Visited for some lunch with my mum and daughter, staff initially friendly coffee/drinks arrived quickly and were good. The food however was pretty poor, I had the breakfast crepe which consisted of badly reheated sausage and a fried egg which could have been used as frisby it was old and rubbery. My mother’s vegetarian crepe was inedible and she left 3/4 of it greasy and flavourless. My daughter’s American pancakes were the only acceptable food we had. There also seemed to be some tension between the staff. When paying I said the food was just ok no further questions were asked they seemed happy for us to leave. Don’t waste your money here plenty of other cafes in Skipton.

Really friendly, lovely and welcoming place to relax and enjoy drinks and food. Our dog was also well looked after! Absolute winner all round.

Love this place! The food and drinks are gorgeous . I had a sweet crepe, which was delicious, and my daughter had one with strawberry’s and Nutella on a gluten free crepe, both were generous portions. The menu had lots of choice, and will try something savoury next time! The staff are all lovely and such a good spot to call in for a coffee or bite to eat. The coffee is also really good, highly recommend a visit! We took our young doggy with us and we will all be returning soon.

will never be returning. all the staff had a disgusted look on there faces when someone was to walk in. we sat down and i think she was the manager her name was hayley snapped at one of the girls telling them to come take our order this just shocked us completely didn't feel comfortable at all after our order had come it was all wrong and the food was cold and soggy and the drinks weren't much better. could do with being more friendly and better staff or management skills.

Whenever I come to Skipton I make a point of eating here. The savoury pancakes are made with Buckwheat perfect for gluten free diets ( not me) but also with a low glycemic index so diabetic friendly (me in recent times) I had my favourite, a smoked ham egg and cheddar cheese crepe with extra cheese. It was as always superb. Washed down with a refreshing pot of tea , all for £ 10.80 with very friendly and helpful service thrown in . I cannot recommend this cafe highly enough . 10/10.

This is a very cute café with delicious, reasonably priced, homemade pancakes and crêpes! My go to is nutella and strawberry crêpe with cream! Lacking accessibility as it’s a very small shop, front step is flat and 2 tables at front before stairs to other tables at back where bathroom is.

Poor experience at this cafe, the whole place was a bit grubby, dirty pots on the stairs and it smelt really greasy, they were frying crepes but there wasn’t an extractor fan - it was awful. We were seat at a table just as you walk through the door, it was really sticky to touch, the waitress saw me saying how sticky it was and said I can try to clean it but I don’t think it will help, the varnish has gone funny on it (why wouldn’t you remove it or at least cover it with a tablecloth), she did give it a very quick wipe but it didn’t make a difference. She then brought us our pots of tea, my mug was filthy and badly stained, I asked for it to be changed, she did change it but even the fresh one wasn’t brilliant. The cake then arrived - very dry, did not taste homemade. I would not recommend

The cheesy leeks is delicious! Also tried a milkshake this time and it was wonderful, looking forward to returning and trying more on the menu, would recommend booking because they are always very busy.

The things on the table; like salt pots, sugar bowls and vase were really dirty. Even the plastic flower was looking worse for wear! The table was sticky (& I think the menus were too) We made sure we used sanitizer even before just having a drink.

Was very hungry and just wanted something quick in passing so asked for a takeaway Ham & Cheese toastie. Was handed to me wrapped in very thin paper and was too hot to carry. Literally just looked like someone had thrown some bread and a few bits into a toasting machine with no care or attention. And charged me £5.95 for the privilege. Poor all round.

Great place for sweet & savoury crepes & snacks. They even gave me scrambled egg rather than fried in my ham & cheese savoury option. My husband had the breakfast crepe. Both delicious. Highly recommended.

Walking along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, my partner and I sought a refreshment stop in the Skipton Canal Basin. Bizarrely, the cafes and coffee houses all closed at 3pm ?!? We ventured into the town and chanced on this delightful cafe; and what a lucky find !! A huge pot of tea and generous slices of delicious cakes, served by friendly and attentive staff !! What's not to like ???

Visited before when the last owner was here so had high hopes. Had a very average experience this time. My meal was the little shop bought pancakes, I was expecting crepes. Possibly my mistake, but it wasn't very warm and arrived five minutes before my daughter's meal. Then subjected to an argument between the owner and one of her staff members, who had been late for work. Not the best atmosphere.

Great place, especially when its raining outside. Not very busy, staff were good. "Not another Costa" as my mum said. MELTED NUTELLA and MINI DIPPING CRÊPES, tea and mango bubble tea were great and came fast. Only bad things were that there weren't any napkins for when I got Nutella all over my mouth from the spoon. Also wasn't too keen on the music, but that's just me. Overall, great place and am planning to go back another time, definitely recommend😃😃

Didn’t eat here so can’t comment on the food. Ordered 2 drinks. A strawberry milkshake and a popping fruit bobas. Both quite expensive. The milkshake was fine. I watched them make the fruit bobas. It mango juice from a rubicon carton. I like the rubicon drinks but when this arrived it was very watered down and hardly any boba in it. Really not worth the money. Very disappointing.

This cafe used to have lots of tasty fresh vegetarian options. New menu has significantly reduced savoury options and lots of unhealthy sweet options. Crepes were heavy and overdone with no side salad. Disappointing.

Well....not that hidden, but a gem nonetheless. Really excellent coffee - there is a lot of dross around - and very imaginative crepes. In fact you might not think you like crepes.....think again!

We really enjoyed our generously-filled garlic mushroom crepes. Finding a place that provides such a choice of gluten-free food was a real bonus. This also seemed like excellent value, so following up with a dessert flavoured one was probably not necessary. You do have to remember that the crepes are cooked individually, so a little patience may be necessary. We were impressed and pleased with the service on a market day in town, though.

Flip Side have fantastic, authentic crepes and galettes with a really good choice of sweet and savoury fillings. I love the new tuna mayo cheese one and salmon and cream cheese is another favourite. All cooked fresh to order so be prepared to wait when it's busy.

Discovered this eatery by accident and visited with my teenage granddaughter. Savoury and sweet crepes were available and was looking forward to one of each. Unfortunately we were both well filled with our savoury crepe. Will go back soon for our sweet one. Enjoyed it very much.

Stopped this morning for breakfast with our 2 children (9 & 12) and we were impressed. Generously portioned and with yummy fillings, delicious coffee and iced chocolate and very nice clean surroundings. Thank you and we’ll be back!

This was my 4th visit recently and the high standard was upheld once again. We usually get the Nutella crepe with ice cream and did so again. The crepe was thick and delicious, the Nutella was....Nutella and the dollup of ice cream on top was well melted when it arrived.

We called in by chance one day and sampled the most delicious crepes which were freshly made to order .The menu was such a refreshing change from the usual average lunch time choices and expensive sandwich type things which you can easily make yourself.

My daughter suggested we visit this cute cafe in Skipton, as she noticed they offer vegan options (she can’t eat dairy). So far we’ve tried vegan pancakes and drinks, as well as “normal” coffees and milkshakes. My husband and I visited for lunch this week and both had the Spanish Omelette crepe. So tasty The quality of the food and drink is excellent and great value for money. The staff are friendly and efficient and the location is perfect; right on the high street. I’ve walked past this place so many times thinking I should try it. I’m so glad I did!

Best ever galette outside France - a savoury buckwheat crepe, which is gluten free - brought back happy memories of holidays in Brittany. Had to finish with a proper iced cofee.

This will now be my “go to” place for lunch in Skipton! The Veggie Full Breakfast crepe was delicious. And I loved seeing it made-to-order.

Forgot to review this place but the food was delicious. I had crepes with strawberries and dark chocolate, my sister had the same my brother and nephew had something else but they both enjoyed their food too. My brothers mocha came a little late but it was fine as the service was great.

We called yesterday for coffee and pancakes, the American stack was great and better than the pancake house at center parcs. The gluten free crepes were also fantastic. The only small downside was the time it took the coffee to arrive for 5 people.

Called here today for lunch. The cafe had seven people in it. The coffee took fifteen minutes to arrive. During our time waiting the waitress came back into the cafe with a lettuce. She went downstairs with her coat and then immediately reappeared. She proceeded to unwrap the lettuce and chop it on the worktop on the counter area. She did not wash her hands. She then served tables, carrying plates, dirty cups back etc and then proceeded to carry on preparing salad and putting onto food plates. Never once were her hand washed in all the time we were there. Pancakes were hot and tasted ok but poor value for money. As you can imagine the side salad wasn't eaten.
