What a lovely chippy. A proper chip shop. You have to try it.

Shop online states that it closes at 20:00 and we arrived at about 19:15 with the chip shop been closed which as a trek from our campsite we found rather frustrating

Visited this chippy at the last minute not long before they closed and were welcomed so warmly by the staff. We sat in and got our food super quickly and nothing was too much trouble for them. We didn't want to keep them waiting past closing time but they very quickly assured us that we could stay as long as we liked, and you could tell that they really meant it. The food was excellent and really large sachets of tartare sauce were a great addition! Thank you to the whole team.

Really great fish and chips. Best takeaway fish I’ve had in a long time. Always freshly made, so you might have to queue, but worth the wait.

What a great chippy. Everything is made fresh. The chips have a nice crisp texture with a fluffy inside. The fish is done to perfection. And to top it off the mushy peas are super. What a gem to have on our doorstep.

The quality of food we had was excellent, especially the fish, but the service was not! Was fully aware it was busy, Ingleton Chippy was shut & it is Friday evening. No, it wasn’t your fault that some woman had a massive order in. But 46 mins from order to being served it, is not good enough! People were served before us that came in after us, people came in the cafe 35 mins after us and were eating before we got our food! People ordering on the phone after us and coming in to pick it up whilst we were still there! After 45 mins patiently waiting when I’d had enough, you had a pop at me for daring to complain….not great from you really! A sincere apology would have gone down much better….

Brilliant little fish and chip shop and restaurant. Friendly staff and great service. The food we had was really tasty and good portion sizes. Would definitely recommend.

This 'Chippy' is a straight forward cafe. The chippy has a limited menu but seems to work for the town. Chips are good and the pies are made by Hollands, don't know who they are. The Steak Pudding is small and my wife found gristle in her pie on two occasins. My S&K pie was hard on the crust, perhaps over microwaved. May not rush back, but want to try the fish, but just didn't.

Website said open Wed 12 -1.30pm and again at 5pm. Arrived 1pm Wed and closed. We were disappointed

Fish and chip tea not cheap worst I have ever had in my life chips warmed up and fish soggy sausage old and warmed up . Never again!!

As the wife had gone away for a couple of days I decided that I would have Friday tea at Bentham chippy, dined in and enjoyed the service I received along with my fish, chips and mushy peas, it went down a treat and I am very picky about fish and chips. Will definitely be dining there again.

We went tonight, ordered 3 meals one being scampi. Waited 40 minutes someone with a big order after me then got served 1st. Then they said oh you ordered scampi we haven't got any. 40 minutes to say that . Other customers shaking their head 🙄

Basic chippy but fine for a weeknight chippy tea. We had fish and chips. The fish was fresh and the chips OK- but not amazing. Reasonably priced.

Awesome food and owner, stayed open after time for three moronic bikers that were cold and hungry. (Myself and two mates) 🤣 Top staff and service, definitely be visiting again.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🏍💨😎

Excellent quality. Fish freshly cooked to order but quick too. Curry sauce is the most authentically curry-like sauce I've ever had from a chippy.

Called in for a portion of chips, got battered sausage and curry too! The best I've had would definitely recommend!!!

Wonderful people that work here, made us fish and chips even though it was closing time. Food is absolutley gorgeous, would highly recommend if you are in the area.

We tried the Chippy as a change from eating in or going tenth pub. We were not disappointed. Excellent fish, and chips. A range of varying sized portions depending on your appetite. Recommended.

Very small portions, ordered regular fish with chips. I honestly thought that they had given me a small fish, even the chip portion was small.

Ordered fish & chips Fish was ok, not great, just ok, however chips were awful, really hard and were obviously refries! If I were you I’d travel further afield and go to the Inglenook in Ingleton.

Brilliant place. I have had a few bad experiences going to chip shops and being served late when I had ordered long before time. This is typical in lancaster and even worse in Morecambe. So I was most pleased when I came across this shop as I was checking out the area where ill be working next year. Incredible service really friendly guys and the best fish and chips I've had in my life. I travel there every week from lancaster just for this fish and chips and would highly recommend. Price is very low and they give loads of tartar sauce. Kind regards Osama

Crisp batter on fish, nicely cooked chips.

6 mile round trip to get burnt, overcooked chips and dry fish. Usually, the quality is ok if not fantastic but these were very disappointing. Will venture further afield for fish and chips next time.

Not bad, good friendly service, portion size a bit small for a "large" and chips a bit crispy but otherwise good.

Very nicely cooked fish and the chips may well be the best I've had from a chippy. Shame they were out of both gravy AND curry, otherwise 5 stars. However, because the fish and chips were so nice, the gravy wasn't so necessary.

Recently got a caravan in a local village and found this traditional chippy - everything’s so fresh and cooked to order. Only a small menu including fish, sausage, battered sausage and fish cake...with extras of curry, gravy and mushy peas - you need to get here early to make sure they don’t sell out of mushy peas!

Great Fish n chips. Good gravy and curry sauce. Great staff. Very reasonable price. Welcome experience. I've come from Haslingden to give them 5 stars ✨

Highly recommend this fish and chip shop. We went on Friday evening and ate in the café. It was fairly busy in both the shop and the takeaway so we had to wait a short while as everything is cooked to order. Well worth the wait though, fish and chips cooked to perfection, staff very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning when we are next in the area :)

Batter was good the fish was soft and tasteless, the chips, cooked but pale and not crispy sorry to say I will give it another go. One day

Chip shops are a personal choice. We like the chips and curry sauce and a lot of people like the fish. I've heard people say they prefer other chippies in the area, but we've never been let down. A big plus is that they serve the food in PAPER boxes so you can eat them in your car at big rock and know you're not destroying the environment (always take your rubbish home to recycle)

Great food we 3 thought. But as some others have mentioned, at times if it's busy it's not ''fast food''. Seemed to be mostly freshly cooked to order (good). I guess it's a balancing of sometimes bit slower attempting to prevent food waste being in a village not a city.

Worst chips I've ever had. . Seriously they were like cardboard. 4 portions and non of us was able to eat them. Never again.

Great great service and wonderful chips

We called in around 7.15pm with a 9 person order as our family were in a local cottage celebrating a 40th birthday and decided on a Friday night chippy tea. The lady serving and her husband in the back were really helpful. We wanted quite a number of Steak Puddings and there were not enough ready so the cooked more for us and the same with the curry sauce, there was not enough so he made more. The lady even helped me to my car with all the bags of food. Highly recommended and the chips was fantastic too !

O don't know if I got there just before closing but the chips looked and tasted like they had been in the hot holder all lunch, honestly the dryest cardboard chips I've had. Cmon guys I payed for the quality you serve everyone else, your only as good as your last meal!!!

Horrible pale chips and fish crumbled and falls apart

Our First Time in the cafe very good meal even better as I thought my husband had the money he thought I had. So the Manageress was kind enough to let us have our meal and trusted us to pay the following day.

Had a really nice meal here, was good value and the staff were helpful and friendly.

Visited here whilst on holiday in High Bentham, great service, really quick even though cooked fresh. Decent size portions. Had fish and chips, mushy peas and jumbo sausage. All great and blokes serving and cooking really welcoming.

We had fish and chips with mushy peas ,a lighter bite of fish and chips and peas which was just enough and pie and chips which we ate in the cafe with a pot of tea. staff were friendly and we didn't have to wait long for our food.will definitely come again.

Weve been to this chippy bofore and loved it but really shocked at the state of the chip they were all dry and burned looked like they were old chips andvthr fish was tinyvand very thin

We grabbed some fish and chips here. The fish was good but the chips were a bit cold ( they obviously had been sitting there a while). So I would insist on fresh cooked chips when ordering.The service was ho hum and nothing to write home about.That all said the fish was good and if the chips were fresh cooked I am sure they would have been good as well.

Stopped off with Grandchildren after swimming for Pizza.... food was fantastic and staff are so helpful and friendly, wasn’t our first visit and won’t be our last would definitely recommend

Fancied a takeaway after a long day out. Fish was cooked to order - not the biggest by any means but what it lacked in size it made up for in quality. Chips were excellent, & the curry sauce was the best I've had from a chippy. Definitely recommend

During my childhood years ( when chippies were not allowed to fry fish on Sunday's ! ) my parents owned a traditional fish and chip shop in a mining village in Lancashire. Dad would only ever fry quality fresh fish and understood that not all potato's are suitable to fry ,I therefore feel that I understand what a good british chippy looks like, and this is it.

long queue to be served but that was ok. the chips were good but the fish had a bit too much crispy batter (birds were well fed) and the mushy peas were very under cooked (hard)...the staff were rushed off their feet and its only a small chippy so well done to them (service with a smile) ..Will we return ?? yes and hope it will be just a little bit better to give a very good rating

came here last Saturday for a family tea as we are up here on holiday, staff were very rude and on their phones. chips were not fresh looked like they had been sat for hours. lots of things off the menu not available. will not be visiting again!
