We visited after a rather wet day of hillwalking and were at first a little concerned about how quiet the car park was compared to others we had seen. Would the food be reflective of the number of customers? We needn’t have been concerned. There was a bit of a wait but our meals were served piping hot and freshly prepared. Two of us ‘risked’ the vegetarian roast option (which is often pretty awful) and were served an absolutely delicious pie which our companions agreed outshone the roasted meat available. I only wish I’d asked for the recipe as it was outstanding. Our only gripe was the room temperature in the bar which can only be described as ‘tepid’. As we were somewhat damp on arrival, this detracted a little from an otherwise very pleasant visit.

We were staying in nearby Hebden and there is a wealth of pubs with dining in the area. We were drawn to The Old Hall Inn because of previous good reviews on Trip advisor and we were not disappointed. We had not booked prior to our visit and just turned up on the off chance. The pub was busy with diners but the very helpful young lady behind the bar was quick to find us an available table. The menu offered the usual variety of pies, fish and chips, and a curry or two but we happened to be visiting during National Burger Week and the imaginative chef had at least a dozen burger varieties from around the world, including New Zealand, Germany, Spain and France, there was something to appeal to every burger lover. The burgers themselves were top notch, very meaty and full of flavour and the various toppings were inspiring. This coupled with a very welcome pint of a local brew led to a wholesome and satisfying meal. The service was superb and I would definitely come back to the Old Hall again.

Went here for dinner on Sunday evening, after dropping in for drinks the previous day and seeing (and smelling) how good the food was! Friendly service and a nice range of beers. Garden out the back and plenty of tables in various areas inside. Squid rings and beef and ale pie were particularly good. They stop serving at 7pm on SUndays, so make sure you get there before then: portions are generous!!!

We stayed at this pub in April 2024 for 3 nights with our 2 Labrador dogs. The pub is in a great location to access the Dales and is approx a 15 min walk into nearby village of Grassington. The pub is friendly, welcoming and a great place to stay. The room was well furnished, clean and large enough to accommodate 2 Labrador dogs. We stayed in the main building where easy access is given during the night, just in case the dogs need to be let out. We found this very accommodating. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful - menu choice and self service. The evening meal was also excellent. There was a great selection of reasonably priced dishes and beers. We would definitely recommend this pub and accommodation to people looking to explore the Dales and would love to return again.

Friendly welcome, clean and well equipped room with tea and coffee etc. A beautiful little dog-friendly pub with a very good menu at sensible prices. This place was recommended to us to try and we weren't disappointed. What really stood out was the quality - and quantity - of the food, absolutely first class, and great service too. Then the breakfast next morning which was included, never had any better..! Will hope to definitely be back sometime, would recommend the Old Hall Inn to anyone.

Just got back from a 4 night stay, 6 of us stayed at the hotel. We had a room in the outside building, and it was perfect as had our two dogs with us. So ment it was easy to pop out for a wee. Room is basic but great, comfy bed, can control your own heating. Lovely hot shower. Breakfast was brilliant, served nice and hot. Cant fault it. We had a couple of evening meals, and super yummy. Big portions which was great, chips are amazing. Defo stay again. Great spot for walking.

We had a very warm welcome and the choices for breakfast were excellent as was the food itself. However be warned if you book room 5, the family room. We were kept awake for hours due to the sounds coming from the room above. The snoring of our neighbour was unbearable, the sounds of them using the toilet, their TV and the terrible creaking floorboards were all very loud and disturbing. There is no soundproofing and their was even a gap in the ceiling above the single bed which didn't help. The bathroom was extremely narrow, the shelf above the sink so low it made using it very difficult and there was no toilet seat lid which felt unhygienic and generally unpleasant. Bed comfy though and furnishings pleasant. We visit Grassington often for family visits but will not return here despite the lovely breakfast be cause we all had such a bad night's sleep and paid £135 for the pleasure!

We popped in for a quick drink and we were gobsmacked at the price ! No wonder it was nearly empty. Ordered a pint of Neck Oil and a glass of wine. They charged us 14.25 ! My hubby who usually pays without question asked if they had it right. Yes that's the price! We have visited this place over the years when staying local and it used to be a nice cosy pub but it's definitely in need of some love. Years ago it was on Four in a bed and it had a great menu and was busy but sadly it seems cold and a bit tatty. Staff were nice but we wouldn't return due to the prices. Even noticed Sunday Lunches were 16.99 hope they are worth the price.

Booked for 2 nights and 2 meals. upon arrival the owner/landlord Dan showed us up to our room personally - why doesn't everyone do this??? - we told him or was our wedding anniversary and could we choose our table for our 2nd evenings meal. this was done and ir wasn't a problem. OK, 1st night, we ordered and had a huge portion of grub each! it was delicious! ans served promptly etc. I'd rather have too much than too little wouldn't you? A lovely, comfy night sleep followed. Breakfast - still a bit full, we just asked for sausage and bacon toasties- utterly delicious and plentiful!!! Now, scroll forward to the evening of our wedding anniversary. Dan points out the specials board. The Sea bass which the Mrs wanted had sold out. I said so and she was a bit disappointed. Several minutes later Dan came over and said "couldn't help buy overhear youbwere disappointed that sea bass special has sold out. Chef tells me we do have 2 fillets left but his chilli sauce that he makes has run out" the chilli sauce was the bit we didn't really care about so Dan said " if you dont mind missing out on the sauce you can have extra prawns, we know it's your wedding g anniversary so chef would like to give you what you want but it's not as per the menu completley" - my Mrs was thrilled as she wanted the fish anyway but could happily miss out on the chilli sauce with the potatoes and veg etc. This was a lovely touch from Dan, the chef and the team. Much appreciated . Why don't other places do this and be some accommodating?? A fabulous breakfast followed on day two and we will stro gly recommend the Old Hall Inn and will return. Superb service.

An old pub that has lost a bit of its charm. Nice and friendly (and that includes dogs) but could do with an upgrade or too in places. For example the chairs in the conservatory area were a bit grubby. The food is ok, average at best and a bit overpriced for what it is in the majority. Although the pizza is a good price. We stayed here for a night and stayed for dinner. It's a nice little pub that is dog friendly. Staff were all welcoming and pleasant. For mains we ordered the steak & ale pie, and the 10oz sirloin steak. The pie was lovely. tasted great, full of meat and the pasty was great. The sirloin steak was rather disappointing, slightly over cooked, not very tender and tasted very bland though like it had boiled in it's own juices. That was a very big let down. If the steak was cooked and tasted like a steak should be then i would have rated this place quite highly on this visit.

My wife and I had 2 nights here. A great location, just 1 mile away from the village of Grassington. An enjoyable walk there via the raging Linton Falls. We were given a very friendly warm welcome by Dan, and soon felt as though we were locals. The first night we ate in the Bar, next to the log burner, the second night in the conservatory. The food, on both nights was tasty and very generous. The breakfast menu, served in the dining room, gave plenty of delicious options. My request to have the Salmon Benedict served on a hot plate, rather than a cold one , was met - no problem. We would stay here again.

I have every sympathy with pubs during the Covid pandemic but some really don’t help themselves. The Old Hall is a nice old pub, on the main road between Skipton and Kilnsey/Kettlewell and about a mile from Grassington village centre. Therefore probably a bit off the well beaten Wharfedale tourist track. We’d been into Grassington the previous evening and visited the Black Horse and Grassington House where we had drinks for around £7-£7.50 per round. It was raining and I like to give local pubs my custom so we opted to stay in the Old Hall. We had 3 rounds of bog standard drinks- Strongbow and Wainwright’s ale. When we got the bill I was astonished at the price - £4.20 for each. I expect to pay that for premium brands but £4 plus for Strongbow is borderline robbery. Drive 15 minutes down the road and a pint is £1.99 at a couple of places in skipton. If locals are charged the same prices I feel sorry for them and can understand why rural locals are dying. Maybe the pub is tied into a punitive deal with a big pubco, I know a lot are, and if so I sympathise. If not, it’s blatant profiteering. Next time I’ll walk I to Grassington where competition seems to keep prices in check. On a positive note the pub took Covid précaution seriously- tables well spaced, sanitiser, masks on etc.

We have called in for lunch numerous times over the years and were sad to see and eat such poor food. I failed to find something on the new menu which looked appetising, so just had a burger. It was dry, as was the bun. You expect much more from a burger for £13.50.The exterior woodwork (tables, chairs, windows, doors etc) have fallen into disrepair, plants in pots flagging and in need of water.Whilst I understand things are tough for many of us right now, you would have thought (in this year of CV19) that someone would have taken it upon themselves to give parts of it a lick of paint to tidy it up. The pub was closed for months in Summer giving ample opportunity and painting isn't a difficult task. You just got the impression nobody cares anymore which is quite sad as it's got a lot of potential.Lets hope that in the future when this CV19 spread has been extinguished that this place gets an injection of money and love to bring it up to a better standard it is at now.

Beautifully cooked meal with every part of it cooked so well. Lovely beef fillet and perfectly cooked veg. Crisp cabbage and Brussels with not a hint of soggy ness. Young people served us, but were lovely.

The Old Hall makes no pretence to provide fine dining but concentrates on good, well cooked , decent portioned pub grub. This is ideal for most travelers especially walkers and tourists. The menu is quite extensive and there are a variety of wines and spirits to choose from. This is cetainly a find for Gin lovers as there is an extensive variety to hand.A relaxing atmosphere in the bar areas with a very pleasant dining room also available. Plenty parking available and all in all a well run establishment.

Popped and stayed for a Friday night, before a rugby game down the road at Wharfedale. Great welcome, lovely room and welcoming real fire in the bar.We had our little Border Terrier with us and enjoyed a few beers and an excellent evening meal, chatting with locals and taking in the atmosphere.

A clean and tidy traditional dining room with helpful and friendly staff. We chose traditional meals of lasagne and scampi which were excellent but my starter of liver pate was huge, like a main in its own right. We had no room for desserts but had a single scoop of icecream and that was big as well. Good food and good value in a good inn!

We had 2 evening meals in this establishment. Both were excellent and filling. Good job we were walking back to our accommodation as we were so full when we left we needed the walk.

We went for lunch today after reading an excellent review in our local magazine. We received a warm welcome and ate in the dining room. The menu is varied something for everyone, special board had pie of the week, a fish dish and curry. We both had starters of crumb brie and prawn cocktail, both were well presented and good to eat. We then had special of hake fish and steak and ale pie. Generous portions and well presented , couldn't find room for dessert. Reasonable pricesWill definitely be going there again.

Called in here for a quick late lunch in our way to our holiday rental property in the Yorkshire Dales. I had a good prawn sandwich but my husband chose the steak and onion sandwich and said it was the best he’d ever had. Staff friendly and helpful. Although we wanted to eat outside as the weather was good, we could have taken our dog inside which was good to know after she had spent such a long time in the car travelling.

They accommodated 22 of us fabulously on a Saturday lunchtime. We ordered in advance and all food was on time and delicious. Phil and team provided great service.

Over cooked and over priced fish and chips- it's a shame as its a nice country pub in lovely walking area. Went as a group but no-one enjoyed their food.

Booked a table with family and our dog, for Sunday lunch. Friendly welcome and service, ordered the beef and shoulder of pork, really good portion sizes, proper Yorkshire puddings, good selection of veg and potatoes, all tasted fresh and the meat was delicious and plentiful, overall really impressed (not been for a few years), will return and will recommend.

Stayed overnight visiting family. Friendly staff and good service. Had a problem with the tv which was sorted quickly. Food was good as was breakfast. A comfortable room, but toilet door wouldn' t close, and the room was hot, with a window that was locked. However, this was only noticed late in the evening after several drinks, and i am certain it would have been rectified if i had asked. Overall, a really good experience, and would definitely visit again. Even the dog enjoyed herself. Thanks for a great visit.

Our group really enjoyed our stay at The Old Hall Inn. The pub has a lovely welcoming atmosphere, especially after a wet cycle ride over the hills!

We tried twice to eat here, the first evening, we arrived at quarter to 9, it was clearly advertised that food was served until 9 but the man behind the bar told us that they stopped serving at quarter to and so refused to serve us, we ended up going to the Devonshire Arms who, even though it was 2 minutes after they stopped serving, still made us delicious fish and chips.

Main courses pleasant, dessert a bit samey with a 'stodgy' cheesecake. Service a bit slow, but location and room was great.

Easy walking distance to the lovely town of Grassington, with plenty of walks on the doorstep, including the Dales Way. Warm welcome, friendly staff, comfortable bed. Bedroom on the small side as was the bathroom but both well equipped. Breakfast included, large choice, very tasty but could do with warming the plates! Bar/restaurant menu/food good but a bit pricey. Garden with tables for outdoor eating. Key to back door provided if returning after hours or if you have a dog needing a wee!! Free WiFi, good connection.

Got seated with menu then waited!! After 15 minutes I had to ask for order to be taken. Food was good when it arrived. Our waitress was less than efficient. Other customers arriving after us were served some time before us.

We called in here to break up a car journey and my wife had the sausage bap and I had the bacon bap. The baps were a good size with plenty of filling, indeed my wife was unable to finish hers. All the staff were efficient and helpful and we may well have to return again in the not too distant future.
