My brother is obsessed with American Diners so when we realised we were staying near one we had to visit. We visited on a Sunday and it was heaving. It was very cool and he got some pictures. Its the kind of place I would have loved visiting as a child. It has lots of play things which we didn't realise before going to it. There weren't any tables free when we went so we got ice cream to take with us. The ice cream was lovely with unique flavours. Its worth visiting just to look at.

Certainly won’t be going back. Ordered 2 coffees , a scone and a chocolate brownie. At the point of paying I was told there was no cream with the scone but a pot was clearly visible with the scone and jam. I asked if that would be an available and the young girl agreed it would , at which point a more mature lady came from the kitchen and said it was display only and that they didn’t have any. I suggested that it would be a good idea to remove the pot as it was misleading but the reply was that’s not your decision it’s mine and she replaced the pot on the display. There was then a search for some jam and I suggest someone sarcastically that this may also not be available. This brought about a response that my sarcasm was abusive behaviour and would not be tolerated and I did expect the arrogance of the staff member to lead to be being asked to leave ( I had paid at this time). That wasn’t the case and I was left waiting for our coffees. One coffee was placed on the tray and I awaited the 2nd one but it was clear the assistant wasn’t making a second one. One again the mature lady came out and told me I should sit down and the tray would be brought to our table but was clearly unaware one drink was missing. After much searching to find the original order it was confirmed another coffee would’ve made and the whole tray brought to our table. The lady who brought this was pleasant and a far cry from the mature lady who was clearly in charge. Maybe the mood I was now in has some bearing on my enjoyment of food that was delivered but all I can say is that it looked better than it tasted ( both the scone and the brownie were bland and the coffee barely warm). I have been a customer since the shop/cafe opened and at one point had a loyalty card. This experience and my overall view of the shop has changed and I see no reason to return as there are places offering better quality and value in the Skipton area.

Today’s visit was just terrible. If you want to know why read on, if not then you only need to know it was so bad we will not return. We ordered our meal with the waiter at the bar and it came with a soft drink included - great. Take a seat, cutlery is brought to us then nothing but waiting, so I go get another drink and wait a little longer so now after 40 minutes I speak to the waitress telling her my table number and asking why the delay - she apologises saying there’s only one person working in the kitchen. Ok, continue to wait another 15 minutes and then go back asking when my food will be out to me. I tell her my table number again and she says she’s sorry but the guy who took the order was wrong to do so as my menu selection was sold out. I ask for a refund the waitress went to fetch someone else to do the refund - that someone came out to the till (didn’t speak to me) and told the waitress how to refund and that person then disappeared back to the kitchen. I then asked the waitress to call the manger so I could complain- the same person who came to sort the refund then appeared - she was the manager. I complained and only then did she apologise. She went on to tell me that she had told the waitress half an hour ago to tell us that they had sold out of our order. Obviously someone is not telling the truth here, is it the waitress who blamed the waiter or is it the manager who blamed the waitress. What was obvious is that the manager didn’t have the courtesy or good manners to speak to me when she came to the till to do the refund. To add insult to injury it was only after leaving I realised I was refunded £1 short. Went home hungry.

We ordered fish and chips and the fish was like the size of a goldfish, when we took it back he started to get smart with us saying they were all similar size. There was loads of fish in the counter that were twice as big. I refuse to pay nearly £10 for a child's fish and chips. He did give me £6 back for the goldfish. They won't be having any of my money ever again. THIEVES

Highly recommend. Been tonight for my son’s 18th birthday, he's got special needs so younger than his age. 11 of us in our party. We had balloons on arrival and they were happy to take my cake and bring it out to sing happy birthday for him after our meals. Super friendly service and everyone enjoyed the food. Quick service and just a great atmosphere. Thanks for making his birthday special 🤩🤩.

We called here in December so on spec I decided to order the Christmas Dinner. The lunch tasted good. There were large portions of food. Meat and huge Yorkshire puddings alongside vegetables and cranberry sauce. The only issue I had was the stuffing that tasted as if it was from a packet. Other than that it was a good meal.

Stayed 1 night in the 4 poster bed room. Very Quiet, extremely comfortable though of a limited space. The bathroom and toilet ensuite with a corner walk in shower. The shower hose offers very little flexibility. Even meal was excellent and a Fresh Full English Breakfast The hotel is undergoing refurbishment adding extra rooms. I'm sure it will be a future success

We were rescued by the Racehorses Hotel after booking 2 nights at the King's Head only to find it closed. (See my review for the King's Head). The lady in the bar sorted us a room at short notice and we had a nice meal there. It's a country pub with no airs and graces, but good honest food and a warm fire. The room was warm and comfortable. Breakfast was good and done as we asked. There is parking and there are lovely walks in the neighbouring countryside. Thank you Racehorses for saving our mini break.
