We booked an overnight stay over the road from the buck in and we went for dinner despite having a very nervous and reactive dog. The staff let us sit in the corner far away from everyone else and were super accommodating. They didn’t approach us unless absolutely necessary. I’ve never been made to feel so at ease. Thank you! Oh and the food was lovely too!

Large traditional pub in small village, with good parking. Decent double bedroom for £130 per night B&B. The pub has been converted into mainly dining areas and, as such, the atmosphere suffers, as it has lost its 'pub' feel, being more like a restaurant. Would benefit from keeping a decent sized area for having drinks, separate from the dining area. Good beer and reasonable food. Venison pies were good but venison fillets were very tough. Would consider returning to stay here if visiting the area again.

Found the Buck Inn purely by chance and so glad we did. We were given a very warm welcome by the guy behind the bar, sorry no name. The pub though old was beautifully renovated and dog friendly. The menu choice was good, we opted for handmade steak pie and also unusually rabbit pie, both were absolutely delicious and packed with meat, proper homemade chips and vegetables all lovely. Good choice of beers, enjoyed sat next to blazing fires. We will certainly be back next time we are in the area.

A truly wonderful place, great accommodation, great food and competitive prices. Service is first class, they can't do enough for you. Breakfast choices are very good & the full English is one of the best around. Well kept beer, good wines & cosy seating areas. Rooms are well decorated, beds comfy & spotlessly clean. Food is cracking, always check the specials board, seafood dishes seem to be a speciality, ever dish we had was amazing especially the Crab. Sunday lunch was to die for

My husband and I spent 2 nights at the Buck Inn as part of an Inn to Inn Walking Holiday with Muddy Boots. We had a very large room with a beautiful view of the Dales. The downstairs of the Inn was large with a reading area with many books, a fireplace and dining tables and a bar area. The food and beer were great after a long day of hiking. the staff were friendly and helpful. The gentleman behind the bar gave us excellent beer advice. The Buck Inn was a great spot for taking day hikes, including trails passing by several sights seen in the new All Creatures Great and Small series; seeing Helen’s house was a highlight.

It was my wife's birthday on the 26/07/24 so we made arrangements with friends to travel over to Kettlewell on sunday the 28th to walk along the river to starbotton and then on to Buckden, when we arrived at Buckden we called at the Buck Inn for a drink and Sunday lunch. Three of us had the roast beef dinner and one had chicken in creamy leak sauce with new potatoes and vegetables 😋 👌 all four of us absolutely loved the food we couldn't fault it. When we had finished our meals Nick came over to clear the table for us and we asked him to take a photo, he asked if if was a special occasion so we said yes it's my wife's birthday! Firstly he congratulated her and then returned from the kitchen with a large chunk of cheesecake and a candle he said that's on the house it was absolutely delicious. Thanks to all the staff especially Nick we will definitely return.

Been meaning to write this review for a few months now. Anyway, we used to stay in Buckden many years ago and The Buck Inn was our go to place. It was closed last time we visited so we were delighted to see it now open. Jeremy the new owner was so welcoming and helpful even recommending a lovely holiday cottage where we do plan to stay. Food and service was really good and internal changes to The Buck are first class. Buckden is a pretty small village with stunning scenery. Lovely place to visit and great pub, food and staff plus you can stay at The Buck too.

It's a weird place. The staff are fantastic, the beer is fantastic. We didn't eat here as we just wanted a quick drink. The pub itself is not very cosy, especially in the middle of winter.....but the roaring log fire tried it's best to sort that out.

A bit of a depressing spot to be honest - a pub with no character, no atmosphere, no soul. The opposite of cosy. On the upside the beer was decent and the prices were reasonable.

The Buck Inn is a nice place to stay as a stop-over for the Dales Way. The rooms are fine, as is the food. From the Buck Inn, a bus service takes you to Grassington and v.v.. From there you can take a bus to Skipton where you ca take a train to Carlisle, that stops in Ribblehead and Dent and thus enable you to skip the more strenuous stage of the Dales Way. Its also a very scenic trainride along the famous Settle to Carlisle railway.

We stayed 2 nights while walking the Dales Way. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable and ideally suited to people with suitcases and walking gear. The food was first class and, as guests, a table was automatically reserved and enabled us to speak with other guests. The welcome and support we received was outstanding, particularly as a taxi that had been booked to take us to our next leg and failed to appear, without hesitation Jeremy and Joanne took us themselves. Well beyond the call of duty. We are already planning our return visit.

Amy looked after us beautifully, taking our order and remembering who chose what, placing it in front of us without having to ask. Everyone enjoyed their meal, particularly the steaks, cooked exactly to order-from rare to medium well. We had a lovely evening at the end of a special holiday with relations all the way from New Zealand. Thanks so much. We will return.

We stayed here after day 2 of The Dales Way. The room was modern but cosy. Ideal for us. Dinner was classic pub food but clearly homemade. The portions were huge! I could not finish the chips which came with my steak and ale pie....

Booked a table. On arrival table not reserved. Found alternative table, then told must vacate by 7pm. Not given menu or attended to. Left after drink. Staff need training in customer service. Otherwise lovely pub.

Good prices for real ale and nice drinks. Great atmosphere, especially on sunny days and really enjoyed the music on the Sunday (Boathouse Jam). Well worth a visit

We were staying in nearby Hebden and there is a wealth of pubs with dining in the area. We were drawn to The Old Hall Inn because of previous good reviews on Trip advisor and we were not disappointed. We had not booked prior to our visit and just turned up on the off chance. The pub was busy with diners but the very helpful young lady behind the bar was quick to find us an available table. The menu offered the usual variety of pies, fish and chips, and a curry or two but we happened to be visiting during National Burger Week and the imaginative chef had at least a dozen burger varieties from around the world, including New Zealand, Germany, Spain and France, there was something to appeal to every burger lover. The burgers themselves were top notch, very meaty and full of flavour and the various toppings were inspiring. This coupled with a very welcome pint of a local brew led to a wholesome and satisfying meal. The service was superb and I would definitely come back to the Old Hall again.
