Stayed overnight in our camper van on the car park, they could not have been more accommodating. A flat place to park with only the stream and birds to be heard. Felt secure and private. Breakfast served 8.30 till 9.30 and we got in earlier to use the facilitates. No fuss and a warm welcome by all, won't be our last visit. Give them a call a very very pleasant stay indeed. Thank you Shirley and Norton.

We were staying in Buckden and the Buck Inn was opposite our accommodation which made it the perfect place to visit for food and refreshment. It is such a friendly and welcoming environment with two cosy areas near the bar for a quiet drink and/ food and an area with comfy sofas to relax in with friends. There are plenty of other tables for meals, but in our experience it was better to book if you wanted to eat in the evening. The staff are really lovely and go out of their way to accommodate their customers. A wonderful Yorkshire Dales venue.

Really delicious meal here, great selection on the menu. Good selection of beers and helpful friendly staff. 7 of us plus a dog ate here on a Saturday lunchtime. The food was superb, I had chicken and creamy leek and bacon sauce which was delicious. Home made steak pies were the best we have sampled all holiday. Would recommend. Good service. Thanks.

The Dales look lovely any time, but were stunning in their Autumn colours. Wharfedale and Buckden are both beautiful and a great location for walks. The Buck Inn staff were all very friendly and welcoming and were happy to suggest places to walk/visit and tell us a bit of the local history. The pub and bedrooms were clean and fresh. The bar served a nice range of draught beers, mostly local. We ate there all 3 nights (they reserve a table for guests) and all the food was great - particular mention for the Fish n Chips, Rabbit Pie, and Sticky Toffee Pudding. Breakfast was freshly served (not buffet) and all the better for it. Refills of tea/coffee and toast was always offered. Plenty of parking spaces (it was a quiet time of year). All in all, highly recommended.

A pleasant location but very hot on a mild evening. It is order and pretty much do everything yourself which is fine if anyone took the time to explain this. The main course was at best bland but in all honesty was tasteless. We were only able to order ice cream for afters as the kitchen had closed but no one bothered to let us know that this was about to happen. A place with potential but unless they improve communication and the quality of their food it may close again.

Large traditional pub in small village, with good parking. Decent double bedroom for £130 per night B&B. The pub has been converted into mainly dining areas and, as such, the atmosphere suffers, as it has lost its 'pub' feel, being more like a restaurant. Would benefit from keeping a decent sized area for having drinks, separate from the dining area. Good beer and reasonable food. Venison pies were good but venison fillets were very tough. Would consider returning to stay here if visiting the area again.

We booked an overnight stay over the road from the buck in and we went for dinner despite having a very nervous and reactive dog. The staff let us sit in the corner far away from everyone else and were super accommodating. They didn’t approach us unless absolutely necessary. I’ve never been made to feel so at ease. Thank you! Oh and the food was lovely too!

Found the Buck Inn purely by chance and so glad we did. We were given a very warm welcome by the guy behind the bar, sorry no name. The pub though old was beautifully renovated and dog friendly. The menu choice was good, we opted for handmade steak pie and also unusually rabbit pie, both were absolutely delicious and packed with meat, proper homemade chips and vegetables all lovely. Good choice of beers, enjoyed sat next to blazing fires. We will certainly be back next time we are in the area.

My husband and I spent 2 nights at the Buck Inn as part of an Inn to Inn Walking Holiday with Muddy Boots. We had a very large room with a beautiful view of the Dales. The downstairs of the Inn was large with a reading area with many books, a fireplace and dining tables and a bar area. The food and beer were great after a long day of hiking. the staff were friendly and helpful. The gentleman behind the bar gave us excellent beer advice. The Buck Inn was a great spot for taking day hikes, including trails passing by several sights seen in the new All Creatures Great and Small series; seeing Helen’s house was a highlight.

It was my wife's birthday on the 26/07/24 so we made arrangements with friends to travel over to Kettlewell on sunday the 28th to walk along the river to starbotton and then on to Buckden, when we arrived at Buckden we called at the Buck Inn for a drink and Sunday lunch. Three of us had the roast beef dinner and one had chicken in creamy leak sauce with new potatoes and vegetables 😋 👌 all four of us absolutely loved the food we couldn't fault it. When we had finished our meals Nick came over to clear the table for us and we asked him to take a photo, he asked if if was a special occasion so we said yes it's my wife's birthday! Firstly he congratulated her and then returned from the kitchen with a large chunk of cheesecake and a candle he said that's on the house it was absolutely delicious. Thanks to all the staff especially Nick we will definitely return.

Been meaning to write this review for a few months now. Anyway, we used to stay in Buckden many years ago and The Buck Inn was our go to place. It was closed last time we visited so we were delighted to see it now open. Jeremy the new owner was so welcoming and helpful even recommending a lovely holiday cottage where we do plan to stay. Food and service was really good and internal changes to The Buck are first class. Buckden is a pretty small village with stunning scenery. The Buck Inn is a nice place to stay as a stop-over for the Dales Way. The rooms are fine, as is the food. From the Buck Inn, a bus service takes you to Grassington and v.v.. From there you can take a bus to Skipton where you ca take a train to Carlisle, that stops in Ribblehead and Dent and thus enable you to skip the more strenuous stage of the Dales Way. Its also a very scenic trainride along the famous Settle to Carlisle railway.

Got seated with menu then waited!! After 15 minutes I had to ask for order to be taken. Food was good when it arrived. Our waitress was less than efficient. Other customers arriving after us were served some time before us.

We called in here to break up a car journey and my wife had the sausage bap and I had the bacon bap. The baps were a good size with plenty of filling, indeed my wife was unable to finish hers. All the staff were efficient and helpful and we may well have to return again in the not too distant future.
