Went for special occasion and was very impressed. The food was fabulous and the service was excellent. It is not cheap but you get what you pay for and we will be going again soon.

Let down, a friend recommended this place, i was looking forward to trying for a couple of weeks, after finally getting there the service was ridiculous. we ordered drinks at the bar then proceeded to get asked multiple times by different staff what we’d like to drink when finally sitting down, they asked if we’d like bread and olives while we wait for starters which i said yes. they didn’t arrive untill after the starters were finished. the biggest dissapointment was the steak i ordered, £35 for a fillet steak with a few fries. the garnish looked like it had been scooped out of the bottom of the sink and thrown on the plate, it came out cold and burnt after asking for medium rare. and also not to mention it took 15-20 minutes for a pint of lager and a bottle of cider to arrive at the table. for the price we paid, utter dissapointment.

Extremely disappointed. We booked lunch for 26th July for 12:30 as a surprise for my dad’s birthday and l booked it on 22nd June. Since then members of staff from the curious fox have contacted us twice pushing it back the last time being yesterday evening asking us if it could be moved to 2pm. Still expecting the lunch menu as we were not told otherwise we arrived and were given the dinner menu. When we asked about the lunch menu we were told they no longer did a lunch menu and when we asked since when had it stopped we were told 6 weeks ago however my mum had sent me the lunch menu 5 weeks ago. We were extremely disappointed given the fact that we were asked to move our times twice and both times were not told that they were no longer serving the lunch menu. The lunch menu by the way is still showing on the curious fox website (see attached) which is false advertising. We left there. I can certainly say we won’t be going here again and had a lovely meal in the Cock and Bottle down the road!

Amazing Sunday lunch, from start to finish this was an amazing experience, we were greeted by the owner when we walked in and offered a couple of tables for us to choose which was very thoughtful. The food was exceptional, we were brought bread and dip to start which the bread was warm and the dip was delicious, then we had chicken Sunday lunch and it was the best Sunday lunch We have had in a very long time, our gravy boat was topped up. Highly highly recommend, we will defiantly be returning

We came here by chance and are so glad we did. We weren't dressed to match the other customers as we'd been camping, but it didn't seem to be an issue at all. Service was great. The food was delicious and well paced (not too slow or too fast) and the presentation of the food was very good. The restaurant itself was stylish with a great atmosphere.

What an amazing place!! From the moment you walk in the music is relaxing the atmosphere is chilled. The food was so flavoursome and looked great on the plate. The menu is just big enough, good choice but not over baring when you read the menu. A beautiful evening, not rushed out of our seats relaxing and enjoyable. The owner came over to chat as he did with others in the restaurant. Definitely a must if you haven’t been before and we will definitely be back.

Such a let down!!!! There was not one check back on our tapas, we always had to ask for everything, wine menu another drink even when they took our empty glass away we had to ask for a drink. One of our tapas came with chips which was a nice surprise although when I asked for some sauce the lady rolled her eyes at me ...really ...was it too much trouble. We where the only table in there and with so many staff in shift we didn't feel looked after AT ALL. Being in hospitality myself was looking forward to being looked after ...was an awful experience and we could not leave quick enough.

Best service in skipton ! Always make you feel special and the food never fails to impress . I love the HUGE scallops and black pudding . My daughter had the salmon salad 😋😋😋😋 the truffle fries are a treat too ! We sat outside for cava - inside for coffee and pudding ! What’s not to like 👍

We arrived for breakfast at 9:45 and waited outside for someone to bring a menu which never came. When we went inside and requested a menu, we were told by a member of staff that they would need to check if breakfast was still running - it was not. We felt the staff member was dismissive and we were an inconvenience. A disappointing first experience of this restaurant as if we hadn't been waiting for a menu, we wouldn't have missed the slot which we feel should have just been granted to us. A 9:45am cut off time for breakfast is very early. We went to Alexander instead which was open until much later.

We stayed for 2 nights in Room 5 in the attic. Lovely spacious room with Queen Bed (5ft). A few low beams but that is part of the charm. We were walking, so our bags were delivered ahead of us, and very kindly one of the great team had lugged them both up to our room ready for us. Ate in the restaurant for dinner. Absolutely fabulous food from a new menu, shared Chimichurri prawns on sourdough, followed by Wood pigeon breast and Lamp rump. Very well presented food on hot plates, showed the chef has a touch of class. Just delicious with impeccable and genuinely friendly service. This was also the case at breakfast time - much more refined than anticipated in a pub (included when you book direct). The whole team at The Curious Fox work seamlessly as a coordinated unit, all going out of their way to ensure we had a memorable stay. The service made the difference so we could not recommend it more highly. Rather surprised at some of the previous comments, as not reflected in our experience.

We had Sunday lunch today having been recommended The Curious Fox by a friend. Slightly odd entrance into a chilly foyer with several tables. Felt like we were walking into a nightclub - but the dining room was lovely. Sparkling glasses and nicely laid tables. Felt a little cool with our backs to the windows on a chilly Jan day, but the radiators threw out enough heat to make it ok. I had the scallops. Very tiny, clearly frozen ones. They were ok. Two Prawn cocktails very spicy and a soup. All nice. We had the beef, lamb shank and pork belly on our table. All was absolutely delicious BUT could have done with being hot. Everything was very tepid. Service was ok. Not the most forward thinking but ok. Puddings - although we looked, the menu consisted of a cheesecake, a choc chip brownie, ice cream & a cheeseboard! Oh and the cheesecake was finished! So very little choice so we declined. 7/10 for us.

We stayed a few nights here as a great base for Skipton snd the Dales. Got a good night's sleep in a comfortable big bed. We ate in the restaurant on the Steak night. It was hearty, tasty and great value with a real buzzy atmosphere.

Went to the curious fox after hearing good things for my birthday meal. The service was ridiculously slow. When the starters finally came out they were cold and mediocre at best. Then there was over an hour's wait between the starter and the main course (this for my parents was too much with having a lighter appetites and not wanting a starter so after 2 hours of not eating they left before the main course came out!) When they complained they basically got told it was their fault for not having a starter! When the main course came out the food was stone cold and most inedible. The sautéd potatoes were stone cold and harder than a goats toenail! They brought the food out without replacing cutlery first which was fairly quickly sorted out but then unfortunately we were left waiting for the sauces to accompany the dish and after waiting a while having to go to the bar to ask them this also happened nearly every time we ordered drinks. After leaving most of meal it wasn't long before I found myself in the bathroom been sick. Apparently while I was in the loo the manger came over and apologised and did knock some money off the bill but it was still very over priced for service and disgusting food! I've honestly had better meals at Whetherspoons! Definitely won't be going again!

If you are staying around the Low or High Bentham area, this is a must visit establishment. Food is fantastic, great array of drinks especially malt whisky’s and the staff were extremely friendly especially Tony and Molly who looked after us during our visit.
