Miserable member of staff who served us. It also mentions that the premises is a chocolatier. I could see no evidence of this other than the usual fare you would find in a normal bakery/sandwich shop. Perhaps the member of staff was having a bad day.The food was average.

An absolute gem of a bakery! Couldn’t do without my bacon/cheese slice most mornings! Lovely dedicated staff who all the locals appreciate!

Lovely local bakery but try as I might I wasn’t going to get service with a smile . Shame really . I don’t agree with other comments that this is typical Yorkshire service . I’m from Yorkshire and I’m baffled at the grumpy service in this shop. Thankfully I only go in for bread and get plenty of smiles elsewhere .

Called here for a bacon sandwich and a cup of tea. On entering it felt like we were not wanted. Both the ladies who were serving couldn’t crack a smile and not a nice word from either. Service was quick but this was probably because we had yesterdays rock hard bacon warmed up. With the amount of choice in the village, will not be using Walkers again.

Stayed in village and found this little Gem, staff warming and friendly , made the sandwiches i needed and the cakes where lovely and fresh , nice seeing a proper village baker thank you x

Great pies, cakes and sandwiches and very efficiently done by the indomitable ladies running the place. Surprised to see some negative comments about the service as that wasn't our experience.

We can’t fault the food we had (sandwiches and cake) but would have appreciated staff wearing gloves when taking food from the counter. We felt the staff just seemed unhappy and customer service isn’t their thing.

Delicious freshly made sandwiches - adapted to our personal requirements; the caramelised marmalade sausage plat - I don't remember the exactly what it was but it was sweet and porky and the pastry was light and flakey. For fans of the sitcom Fawlty Towers this is a must visit for the incredible no nonsense service! An absolute delight! "What makes it a Yorkshire pasty?" "It was made in Yorkshire" "What's in it?" "Same as a Cornish!" Please don't change a thing about Walkers, please, please don't send your staff on some dreadful customer care training, please don't change what makes this establishment so unique. In an ocean of fast food franchises and mind-numbing, spirit crushing reality TV and Strictly Baking Apprentice shows, this Deli/bakery is a fun and tasty experience, very, very highly recommended.

OK, so some people want 'service with a smile' wherever they go.. I'd say, take it with a pinch of salt. I've been here a few times, never found staff unpleasant or rude as some reviews suggest. Just straight to the point, as many of us Yorkshire folk are. If you want lovely food and bakes, this is where to go. Today I just popped in for some sweet treats and they didn't disappoint. In fact, when someone popped in to comment on how lovely the sandwiches were, the lady behind the counter thanked them and relayed the positive comments to the woman preparing food in the back. That doesn't seem ungrateful or unpleasant to me!

A top village bakery that I’ve frequented since it opened. Fantastic array of cakes, pastries and breads. Sandwiches are brilliant - great value for money and hand-made there and then. The team of ladies who look after you give a warm, welcoming, amazingly friendly service. And they are always an absolute hit with our various All Creatures Great and Small teams when they visit the village 👍🏼 Keep up the awesome service Team Walker’s 🍰

Walked into to this bakery on Thursday 11th November at approx 2.50pm. There was an advertisement outdoors advertising sandwiches etc. I asked if there were any sandwiches available only to be answered (by a very badly mannered, middle aged woman) ‘No, I don’t have any left and I’m not making any and all I want to do is get ready to go home’ ……..I walked away, quite offended and astonished as to how anyone should be allowed near a customer with such an awfully offensive attitude. I too live in a honey pot village and have had another long and hard worked season but never, ever would I dream of speaking to my customers in such an awful manner. I walked away from the shop, vowing I would make the public aware of ‘the attitude’ here. Thankfully, I took refuge in the wonderful and welcoming hospitality at the Stripy Badger. When I tuned into tripadvisor tonight and actually looked at the reviews of this establishment I am not surprised to find that I am, by far, not the only customer who has fallen victim to this awfully ignorant saleswoman. As a similar business owner and customer too, I will leave you with a few advisory notes: 1). If you are the owner and this woman works for you….send her over the way to take a few tips on customer service from the ‘Stripy Badger team’ 2). If indeed you are the owner…time to hang up the baking trays! 3) Customers…..walk away from Walkers! Rude, rude, rude, rude! If I could score less than 1 I would have done all thanks to the awful attitude of the saleswoman!

Found this little place after a long walk and ordered a couple of meat pasties. They were absolutely the best pasties i have ever had. So good in fact, i went back to the shop and bought a couple more. Tasty and fresh at a reasonable price.

Popped in here to get a sandwich to take on a days hill walking. What I got was a very large, soft and clearly freshly baked roll filled with delicious, good quality ham and cheese. Such good value too (compared to some of the more touristy spots). The staff were efficient and friendly. This is a traditional bakery who has been in Grassington serving locals and tourists alike for many years and would be my go-to for a tasty filling lunch to enjoy after many miles walked in the Dales.

Traditional bakers but no longer a chocolate shop as far as I could see. Was told by the miserable woman behind the counter it was too hot for chocolates in the shop. Nice cakes but don’t expect service with a smile.

Proper old fashioned bakers. Bought some tasty vanilla slices. Woman who served me was not particularly friendly but maybe she doesn’t like to interact with customers.

Good food. Huge sandwiches and brilliant cakes 🍰 would def recommend. After having a poor meal at the nearby hotel we needed a picnic and this didn’t let us down

We decided to have a "bought" picnic and went to Walkers. We had two lovely rolls, excellent quality and value for money. I also spoke to a member of staff about a special cake-they were very helpful.

I really found it off putting seeing pasties etc being picked up with bare hands and not tongs and handling money. I was in the shop several minutes and did not see any hand sanitising. I don't like it any time let alone now Covid has shown how important it is to avoid cross contamination.

During last week a group of 10 cyclists were staying in accommodation near Grassington, and we ordered filled rolls for lunch from the bakery on a daily basis. The service was great and the rolls were delicious. A big thank you to all involved

Visited whilst in the village and really liked this local bakery. We bought baps, pasties, and 2 lovely cakes. Everything was very tasty and prices not expensive. The cherry and rhubarb cake slice was superb

I often get food from here not a problem but always find that the customer service is entirely rude. On the phone ordering in and in shop, only seems to be the same silly person! Shoves card reader to you without a word and snatches...

To be fair to Walkers, I have been back to their Grassington store twice for hot food and drinks and numerous cakes since my previous review in which I criticised their surly staff members. I am delighted to say that on both occasions, the ladies...

Visited Grassington area whilst on holiday just before lockdown began and we spent a couple of days enjoying the surroundings. Went in the bakery twice while we were there, both times the two women behind the counter were miserable as sin and looked thoroughly cheesed...

Rude staff Went in 29/8/20, I was handed a sandwich without a word. I asked for a desert and all they replied rudely with ‘what you see is what we’ve got’. The whole experience wasn’t pleasant, I didn’t bother getting a desert after the ladies...

Disgusting customer service, rudely refused hot food at 3pm on a bank holiday weekend and served cold turkey sandwiches that hadn’t even been buttered. Truly awful experience and very rude staff. Will never visit again.

Walkers make the best sandwiches in the dales. Try one of their warm pasties on a cold morning. Delicious!

This is our favourite deli / sandwich shop and has been for years in the whole of the country!! So how disappointed was I when I went in today to ask for a panini at 3pm to be told the grill was being cleaned and...

This was a perfect place to get our packed lunch for a long day walking. Friendly staff, good choice of sandwiches and cakes/buns/other fattening things which are essential for a day out in the Dales.

Really great place to get some food if in the area. The bakery was recommended to me and it definitely met my expectations. Will definitely come again if in the area!

We nipped in early to purchase some bread for use on our return home. There was a very tasty looking sourdough loaf which we bought along with a small Whisky Slab cake, tea cakes and a couple of pasties. The produce was beautifully presented with...

Quite a few days running now we have visited to get pack up for our walking journeys and we have not been disappointed, the beef or ham rolls are filled with salad (including sliced boiled egg) A tuna and sweetcorn salad tray was so filling...

This small bakery with a few outdoor tables is an ideal place for a snack whilst watching the tourists searching for a parking place. There is a good selection of cakes, sandwiches etc.

This is a little gem. You can call in from early morning to buy bread, snacks, coffee, jams ,chocolate and they are so efficient in providing the early morning tradesmen with their breakfast sandwiches and foods for their lunch. Locals use the shop extensively for loaves and delicious looking cakes and pastries and if you want to call in just for a tea or coffee you are made very welcome. Outside seating available where you can just watch the world go by and staff are friendly, helpful and very quick to respond to any request. A delightful part of the Grassington scene.

I bought two sandwiches before starting on a walk in Grassington, not realising how big and copiously filled they would be. One was enough for lunch but the second one made for a great breakfast the next morning. And the fudge brownie was also very good. I would recommend this bakery to any one who wants to have a nice picnic.

Horribly experience, upon politely ordering a coffee and tea we was greeted with silence and a blank stare, no acknowledgement or nod or a simple “sure”. And before we could add two cakes to the order the lady had walked off and started making the “fresh” coffee from a pod machine. 100% wouldn’t recommend.

I see the prices have gone up again. I really think the owners need to consider if they are going to price themselves right out of the market.

My wife and I did a walk from Burnsall to Grassington along the river, parked up at the car park at Burnsall. Set off on the walk along the river, it was a gorgeous day and a gorgeous walk virtually flat all the way until we had a bit of a climb up into Grassington. We strolled through the main street and came across Walkers bakery. We could not resist sandwiches made to order also home made pies. YUM! Tea and coffee at reasonable prices. Friendly staff. A delight to say the least. A must visit if you are in the area.

This area of the world is great to visit, I only live 45mins away, my wife and I walked from Burnsall to Grassington and back (about 7miles) easy going along the river Wharf, feeling a bit peckish at Grassington we called at Walkers Bakery and chocolatiers, two large ham salads teacakes coffees and a piece of chocolate cake under a tenner (well I am a Yorkshireman ) super little place, seating outside, none inside.

A little pricey but you get what you pay for; very tasty! Sells a variety of fresh bread and cakes; small shop but nice choice. Fresh goodies sell fast so go in nice and early to avoid disappointment.

Sandwiches are made to order. Variety of pies which can be warmed. Tea and coffee at reasonable rates. The staff have a wicked sense of humour. When asked the difference between a Yorkshire Pasty and a Cornish one, told a Yorkshire one is made in Yorkshire. When asked( in the afternoon) how long a bacon sandwich would take the reply was a very long time, the grill wouldn't be put on until the next morning.

We bought lunch in this busy bakery for our daily walks during our stay in Grassingtom. A great choice of different sandwiches are made to order and there are delicious choices of pies, cakes and pastries too. We were never disappointed and our stay was too short to savour everything on offer!

Wonderful food and amazing bread and cakes. The sandwiches made to order at the shop are bread cakes filled to the max with lots of ham or beef and salad. I can also recommend the paninis. Extremely good value for money. Keep it up.

This bakery shop has some outdoor seating and offers a fine range of savoury items and cakes to take away or eat in store.Drinks are also available.

Although I’ve not yet tried the tea or coffee available here, or the salad boxes and sandwiches made to order, but I have tried a considerable range of cakes and biscuits. And if the quality of those is anything to go by they’ll be excellent.

Called in today for some bread and we were served by a lady who barely spoke, no please or thank you, just the "I cannot be bothered attitude" Very disappointing, a lovely bakery let down by very poor service.

Had a holiday cottage in Grassington for a few days and this bakers was a stones throw away.....

Walked past this bakery with friends and noticed people sat outside with drinks and sandwiches. The sandwiches looked really good so we ordered some with teas and cakes....wow...they were more than good they were fantastic. Made to order ( so expect a short wait) with the freshest of ingredients. Sandwiches, cakes and teas for 3 people for £14! All eaten on the Main Street in Grassington watching the world go by. You can't ask better than that.

Excellent freshly made sandwiches and pork pie. During the time we were here this bakery seemed really busy.

Yes - very good sandwiches and great cakes and other Bakery Fayre. I would not call it a "restaurant" though - why a lowish mark. Good for a bite to eat at Lunchtime to take out.

Nowhere better around here, sadly miss the final star as I prefer my pastries from Weatherhead butchers, other than that this place can't be beaten. Bring back the coronation chicken sandwiches!

Visitamos esta panadería casi cada día para conseguir picnics como la selección y la calidad era simplemente increíble. El personal nos pareció muy amable y dispuesto a ayudar, especialmente la señora encantadora que nos sirve en cada ocasión. Ella envueltos nuestros pasteles cuidadosamente con un punto a la bolsa, así que las cimas de las Tartas no encajonados. Recomiendo el panecillos rellenos y prácticamente cada tarta! Las tartas de fruta probablemente sería mi favorito. Sin duda recomiendo coger un picnic aquí en un día bien en vez de molestia con un pub/salón de té.

Sándwiches con lo fabuloso, rebosar de llenado es su elección de la amplia selección disponible, y se sirve en un pan delicioso, lo que sea que usted elija. Normalmente dos opciones de sopa encantador. Gran variedad de pasteles, bollos, bollos, empanadas, pizza y tartas. Sus cajas son ensalada una increíble relación calidad-precio. Personal amable, alegre, sonriente, siempre alegre, a pesar de ser personas normalmente colas fuera de la puerta para ser servido en las horas pico. Siempre es un placer ir allí.

I visit Walkers most days ... generous tasty fillings on gorgeous fresh bread ... at a very competitive price :-) Snacks e.g. cheese & bacon wrap; meat & potato pie; peppered steak lattice all scrumptious and the yummiest friot flans; egg custard; carrot cake & scones. Products are great sandwiches soups cakes bread FAB Shame the staff are so rude.Been in plenty of times and if you want soup or a sandwich be prepared for a long wait They don't rush.Smiles are pretty rare in this shop Sad because the produce is very good.

Walkers make amazing sandwiches, generously filled- literally bursting at the seams! A personal favourite is the turkey, stuffing and cranberry.

Los bocadillos son siempre recién hecho para satisfacer las exigencias del cliente y sólo están encajados con abundante. Una enorme variedad de sándwiches fríos y calientes. La casa muy agradable hizo sopa. Grande, una tentadora selección de pasteles, bollos, tartas, etc. También existe la posibilidad de una caja de ensalada junto con un poco de carne fría o una tarta si quieres más variedad.

Sólo panadería por millas muy práctico para conseguir que sus suministros agradable panadería pasteles y pan sándwiches, pero no lo hacen first choice muy ocupado
