Had a full English breakfast it came well presented, hot and appetising, fresh coffee, home made cakes made by the owner, seating out front and back in lovely courtyard, everyone welcome, dogs allowed. Local honey sold there and jams really good selection. Can't wait to go back. Staff were so friendly and welcoming thank you.

The Riverside provides excellent food time and time again. The ingredients used in the dishes, both savoury and sweet, are of a high quality and new fail to please. The coffee, including the decaf, is equally as good too. Today we enjoyed a bacon and a vegan roll (even though I am not vegan it is so super tasty) followed a pistachio and courgette cake with passion fruit curd and Maltesers malteser tiffin, all fully recommended.

Outstanding warm genuine welcome from the owners who deliver great service with Yorkshire smiles and fayre to match the atmosphere. Lovely bee theme inside from cosy knee blankets if needed to crockery to tables all to match . Yorkshire Tea ( of course) with pot of hot water and cakes / scones to delight and excite

Decided to pop in for my pitstop on the bike.I usually have my cycle stop in Threshfield but glad I made that left turn.Quality hot chocolate + nice fruit toast with cheese, oh + none of this messing about with giving you 1 of them silly mini margarines that you couldn’t butter a breadcrumb with, but ample ‘proper’ butter to go with it.Real friendly as well. What an absolute gem this is, poached egg on sourdough was perfect! just what was needed after the #sueryderboltonabbeyrun, Hubby jealous for the bread as doesnt come with sausage sandwich🤣. Cakes gorgeous, service fab, especially the singing in the kitchen! Will be back next year...if not before Thankyou

Me and the lads stumbled upon this place mid way through our Simon Seat hike and I must say, we’ve never come across such a welcoming team, especially Lee! The food was outstanding and the customer service was exceptional! Will definitely return, keep up the great work from the Halifax Lads!

Had a perfect spa day with friends. The spa is quite small, but they have made the most of what facilities they have. The addition of the bell tents is a lovely extra. The tents have bean bags, heaters, electric plugs and even a set of onesies you can use! We were determined to get a photo wearing them but ran out of time at te end of the day. Lunch is served in a picnic basket and you can choose whether to eat in your tent or in the spa lounge. Eating on the chairs and tables outside our tent wasn’t an option as it was raining. We all opted for a massage treatment as part of our package which was just lovely. The staff were amazing - really attentive and friendly. My only suggestion would be to have a better stocked bar as there were only enough bottled lagers for 1 each!

The location is ideal and a beautiful outside space for families. It's a shame it's let down so badly by the food. The 'ceasar' salad on the menu was not a ceasar salad but came with strawberries, orange and awful croutons. The sandwich was bland. I just think for such an amazing location the businesses is making it much harder for themselves by over complicating simple dishes.

Lovely place for an ice cream and we got the weather. Loads of flavors to try, including bubble gum if you fancy. Good portion for the price. Delicious. Highly recommended.

Exceptional Experience at The Angel at Hetton My wife treated me to a night at The Angel at Hetton for my birthday, and it was outstanding from start to finish. We opted for the 10-course tasting menu and stayed overnight in one of the suites, both of which exceeded expectations. From the moment we arrived, the staff stood out for their professionalism and attention to detail. The service is well-judged: friendly, knowledgeable, and present without being intrusive. The food was exceptional, inventive without trying too hard, with real depth of flavour. One dish in particular, featuring carrot as the main element, was a real surprise. It’s impressive to see such a simple ingredient elevated in a way that’s both creative and genuinely delicious. Clearly, this is a team of serious talent. The sommelier was another highlight. Passionate and incredibly knowledgeable, they brought a real sense of thought and enthusiasm to every pairing, enhancing the overall experience rather than just ticking boxes. After dinner, I mentioned I enjoy a cigar to round off a good evening, and the team couldn’t have been more accommodating. They set up a dedicated outdoor seating area, reserved and ready for me after the meal, a small gesture, but one that really added to the sense of care and hospitality. The suite was equally impressive: spacious, well-designed, and properly comfortable, a great balance of luxury and practicality. All in all, The Angel delivers something genuinely special. We’ll absolutely be returning.

What a fantastic place to visit with or without children.

Sat outside and had tasty, generous and well priced sandwiches served by friendly staff. Also had the carrot cake which was very nice.

Date night. Dropped the children off at nannies and got our glad rags on… taxi…. A lovely evening well deserved after our busy week. We have been here before. The food is wonderful and cocktails are very nice it’s a little expensive but u are paying for the whole experience and it’s beautiful. Thanks to the chefs and the staff for great service and food. I can absolutely recommend The Priests House for your wedding. The venue is clearly beautiful, I’d been looking for 8 years for the perfect wedding venue and it just blew me away. But what also makes it are Conor and his team. We only had 5 weeks to organise our day, nothing was too much, from increasing the no of guests, decor, accomodating dietary requirements….the team absolutely took the stress out of organising our wedding, and on the day the whole team were incredible. I just wish I could go back and do it again! 💍
