After a long climb up hill we arrived after they’d had a busy lunchtime. The owner found us a seat and told us they had been mega busy and would be with us asap. Gorgeous building, loads of great cookbooks to keep me occupied, lovely food, great coffee and cake to die for.

This secluded venue had been recommended to me on a number of occasions but I hadn't been told exactly how amazing it is. A heart in the mouth single track uphill road to get there but oh the stunning scenery was well worth it. The service was excellent and having sampled a veggie option brunch and coffee realised I have been accepting mediocre for way too long. If this venue can produce excellent food then everyone should. Shame on you non independents.

A warm welcome and terrific food. A great place for a pitstop for walkers and cyclists. We like to park here (for free) for a walk to the Strid, and follow the walk with a coffee and cake or a small meal here.

We have been several times to this hidden gem. Always a warm friendly welcome and happy with my two dogs. Staff are friendly and always try and accommodate if we want something that's not on menu We love it

Excellent coffee, amazing full English and other breakfast bits. Returning in few days for a big gathering before a walk. Definitely recommend.

Turned off guided by our sat nav to the valley of desolation and what a mistake, miles off. Parked in the road looking at google maps and saw a café 100 metres down the road in a farm and thought is that possible a farm Walked down the road and there was a small café with a parking lot and plenty of inside and outside seating, you could even stay if you wanted as there is accommodation as well.

This place is in a beautiful location. After a hard day cycling, we we had run out of water and food. Although the tea-room was closed we asked if our water bottles could be topped up. The lady who owns the place was busy but she could not have been more kind and helpful. She brought us delicious home-made chocolate cake and filter coffee and stayed for a chat. Absolutely amazing customer service and saved us that day! Thank you!

First stop on the way out of Hubberholme when walking. 3 of us had the cream tea; wonderful home made scones with home made jam & lashings of cream- scrumptious Scar House Tea Garden highly recommended.

Any time this place is open, do take the chance to pop in for a drink, snack or meal....a very friendly place with a good choice (including vegetarian) on the menu; the family team are happy to speedily prepare and serve just what you order in a quirky, well presented small cafe. Excellent value, quality food!

It's a shame, but our well loved local Chinese Takeaway has closed for business. Johnny and his wife have retired. We now await to see if it will reopen in another guise.

Great coffee and cake. Hubby had a slice of Millionaire Shortbread and our friend and I had the BEST carrot cake 😋😋. Steve and Trudy welcomed us with warmth and huge happy smiles. They offer a varied breakfast/light lunch menu as well as loads of specialty jams & chutney’s to buy. If we could give The Cake House 10 stars we absolutely would. Thank you.
