After having a brisk early morning walk along the beautiful river, my family and I were in need of some lovely food so we pitched up inside the tea room. My daughter Sophie is as ever a very outgoing 7 year old showing interest in the cafes owner and her tasks as she dealt with us and other customers. Sophie asked if she could help and the very kind lady (I am so sorry I did not ask your name but hopefully if you read this you know who we were!) let Sophie help her make some drinks and then take our payment at the till. She was incredibly accommodating and thoughtful, actions like this will leave positive core memories with Sophie and gives her a great sense of achievement too. Food wise, we had a delicious breakfast, I had a wonderful bacon sandwich and hot pot of tea, all freshly made, reasonably priced and with a wonderful view towards the river. We said we will be back and would love to spend more time here. Thank you again. Lovely tea room.

My visit to this tea room was nothing short of diabolical. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming, with a strange mix of dim lighting and unsettling decor. The tea options were dismal, tasting more like lukewarm dishwater than a flavorful blend. The service was shockingly slow, and the staff seemed disinterested, adding to the overall dismal experience. Save yourself the torment and steer clear of this diabolical excuse for a tea room.

Came across this wonderful tea room on our walk one Sunday morning a few weeks ago, the ladies were very welcoming & we ordered tea & cake, the freshly baked chocolate cake was absolutely delicious & they very kindly brought through some chopped bacon from the kitchen for our dog who we had jokingly said could smell the bacon, it was a delight to find this treasure of a tea room that quickly filled up with cyclists & other walkers

We visited the tearooms on 5/11/23 for breakfast. The service was diabolical, disorganised and the quality of the food when it eventually arrived was very poor quality for the price. We will not be returning and suggest the proprietor gets more staff and get catering and hospitality training very soon or this business will fail

Although I'm disabled and gluten intolerant the tearoom has no problems catering for my needs. A good large pot of tea even came with a large mug and lots of milk. Bacon sandwich with thick sliced gluten free bread and lashings of butter - no problem. Not one but two gluten free cakes to choose from. Wow. To add to the delight neither of them was the usual lemon drizzle. Excellent service with friendly and helpful staff only add to the satisfaction gained by a visit to this beautifully situated tearoom. You can eat in the tearoom or outside as you prefer but you must go inside to order/pay. This leads nicely to my one warning for those worse off than myself. There are 3-4 steps into the actual building. The steps have a hand rail on the right as you enter. The loos are not accessible to wheelchair users, unfortunately. Please do not let this one inaccessibility put you off visiting an excellent café tearoom. Just remember not to drink to much tea or coffee and bring a friend who can climb steps!
