We have just enjoyed a wonderful lunch here. Delicious Home Made Soup, followed by Lishmanns Sausages. I had mine in a Giant Home Made Yorkshire Pud with just the right amount of Gravy ! Also Home Mash and Fresh Vegetables. Hubby had Rhubarb Crumble Tart with Cream. We will be back ! Obviously, the closure of the A59 at Kex Gill has deeply affected various Hospitality Businesses - please please support them.

We have been here before and the reason we keep returning is simple. Wholesome food, friendly service and obviously with a regular clientele. I had scrambled eggs on toast. The toast was crisp the eggs fluffy and there was a decent plateful. My husband had ham and cheese toastie. Again a good lunch. If you can get through the door, there’s a warm welcome and reasonably priced meals to be had. Nice surroundings too.

one of the best cafes/tea rooms in North Yorkshire. visited quite a few times, welcome very good, service excellent, a large selection of food from main meal's to snacks, something for every one, all cooked and presented perfectly. highly recommend the filled Baguets along with the homemade cakes/scones. prices very fair for the quality and quantity. another bonus is the free car park

I’m embarrassed to say that these tea rooms were not actually our first choice for a lunch stop on our way to Harrogate. Luckily for us, our first choice was closed to walk-ins as they were hosting a private function - and we found Bolton Abbey Tea Rooms instead. We had a delicious lunch, served by friendly and efficient staff and chatted to a local man who eats here at least once every week. Highly recommended.

My review has two parts: our visit to the cafe, and what happened to spoil our visit. Firstly, we parked , and read the notice saying parking was just whilst customers were eating, which we thought was a bit off, but as we planned to visit the ruined abbey, didn’t particularly concern us. We very much enjoyed our filter coffees and a delicious toasted tea cake. While I was looking at the tourist leaflets, my husband crossed the road in search of a public car park, as we had no intention of outstaying our welcome in the cafe car park, and I then went across to show him one about Grassington being the set for Darrowby. Secondly, as I was about to do so, a man who had been grating lemon in the kitchen called out to us. He told us to leave their car park, shouting to us across the road ‘Hey Guys…’ and told us to leave. ‘ We’re going now,’ I replied, but told him that although we had very much enjoyed our food and drink, this rude shouting had spoilt the memory of what had been a pleasant visit. We left. However, very shortly we learnt the background to their policy, when we attempted to go to see the abbey, something we intended to complete within 20 minutes, before visiting the steam railway., we were absolutely shocked to read that it would set us back £15 to park for the abbey. I suppose if a family had decided to spend the entire day there, it would have been less shocking, but for a twenty minute quick look, it appalled us. I guess that the tea rooms have had a fair bit of trouble with customers parking in their car park to walk up to the abbey, so that new customers cannot park and patronise their tea room. The village badly needs a large free car park, but meanwhile, it would be preferable to avoid shouting at customers, telling them to leave promptly!

I was part of a 6 American contingent that visited your tea room on June 23. Our server, Haley, was wonderful in helping us experience our first scones. I promised to try scones across the UK, including a very posh London tea room, and I am pleased to report that after sampling over 12 scones in 9 days, the Abbey Tea Room won! Perfectly baked with a slight crunch on the outside and a subtle sweetness on the inside, the scones, served with butter, jam, and fresh clotted cream were a revelation! Stop here for outstanding service, delicious home-baked products, and sumptuously stuffed sandwiches.

We came to Abbey Tearooms for a late lunch with our little dog and as it was glorious weather we ate outside. There was an extensive and varied menu and also a specials board. My daughter and I could honestly say it was the best cheese and tomato quiche we had ever had and the portions are really generous. We bought a lemon meringue pie to bring home and we have just consumed it. It was absolutely delicious and again probably the best we have ever tasted. Incredible little gem of a place and will definitely be returning! Thankyou to all the lovely staff.

Called in to the Tea Room for a mid morning brunch, what a great place, the all day breakfasts are great, and great value for money, the girls are really friendly and happy to welcome you. The food is cooked and presented well and is really tasty. Couldn't have gone to a better place to eat. It's a shame for us that they are so far from Margate or would be here all the time. If you are near Bolton Abbey this is the place to eat. They do scones, cakes and all manner or bits to eat. Visit and you will enjoy.

Unfortunately, even though the staff, food and drinks were very good, unfortunately will not be 've Turing out again for sometime. Other customers were not all wearing face coverings, even though there is a notice stating people should. Staff didn't insist customers abide the rules. Definitely would not have used the toilets because of the reason above. Must say cyclists were the worst culprits, but also other customers. Really couldn't get out quick enough felt so unsafe

So glad to see The Abbey Tea rooms back open again after the forced Covid closure period. I have visited this great little tea rooms before and was pleased that they were back in operation. They have taken the closed period to freshen up the venue, a coat of paint makes all the different to the dining area and on talking to the friendly owner I understand they took the chance to refresh the entire kitchen area. I was there late morning and was able to enjoy the All Day Breakfast which was excellent, clearly good local products opposed to cheap supermarket alternatives, of course the usual array of homemade cakes were on show and i was able to grab some of those as a takeaway for later. The food has always been good at ATR but it is the staff that make it a must go to place, still friendly and efficient whilst maintaining the required social distancing measures that are clearly laid out at the entrance.

We stopped here a couple of times during a 5-day trip to Wharfedale to walk the first half of the Dales Way, and the Abbey Tea Rooms did us proud both times. Cups of tea helped wash down an extremely sweet lemon meringue tart the first time, and the second time we were there for lunch and really enjoyed their hot baguette with roasted veg and halloumi and their homemade Bakewell tart. There's a fair amount of space on picnic benches outside, between the tea rooms and the small car park so mostly sheltered from the roadd, and a goodly number of well spread-out tables inside (because of Covid and social distancing). An appealing place to eat and it felt like a safe one too - particularly crucial at the moment. It's also a huge plus point that it's nothing like as crowded as everywhere immediately around Bolton Abbey.

I stopped off here with a friend whilst visiting Bolton Abbey and was very disappointed. We ordered a sausage sandwich, broccoli & stilton soup, 2 cream teas which came to £15.55. The sausage sandwich was far from what I was expecting for a tea room in the countryside. It came in a cheap burger bap and consisted of 3 very cheap and poor quality sausages. No disrespect to the Richmond Sausages but it was very similar to that or a Walls Sausage. I was expecting and would’ve preferred a thicker type of sausage, perhaps Cumberland, Lincolnshire, Pork & Apple......you get the idea. We were charge £4.65......I could get much better quality for that price in most other places in Greater London.

They have a captive audience here so this could be why the scones although looked very nice and I have to say were fresh , lacked any taste, also the white chocolate drink seemed to just be hot milk. Their cleaning needs to be stepped up somewhat as the door to the loo was awful, you also prayed that nothing from the thick black webs fell into your food. The menu was straightforward in every respect from it's layout according to size or type of meal to easy pricing. If we'd wanted a main there were at least three we would have chosen. Cakes are home made and the courgette and orange cake was moist, different and delicious. We were welcomed, felt welcome, were served as good as anywhere and will be back.

Having cycled to the Tea Rooms on a beautiful Saturday morning we were looking forward to a cracking breakfast before heading back. You can imagine our disappointment to find the closed sign - however we were greeted with a smile by one of the ladies as she arrived to prepare for opening in half an hour. “Coffee will be ready in 5 and what would you like for breakfast boys?” Proper customer service.

We walked from Ilkley to Barden Bridge, stopping at the Abbey Tea Rooms for a break. Our boots were rather muddy so we had some concerns until we saw the notice 'Muddy Paws Welcome'. We knew this meant dogs rather than humans but were reassured and, indeed, we were made to feel most welcome. The food was excellent.

Had a lovely scone with jam and clotted cream here, infact it's probably the best scone I've ever had.

Stopped off whilst cycling past, great food and customer service. James behind the till went above and beyond with an act of kindness, that made the trip even better. Lovely cafe in a lovely location.

Stayed at The Lister Arms for a couple of nights mid week. We stayed in the Lister Barn which is a 2 minute walk from the actual pub. Cosy and warm, tastefully decorated with lovely toiletries - a real gem of a place. The main pub is really cosy, with a gorgeous fire burning all day and evening. Breakfast and dinner here were both really good with large portions. Lots of dogs inside the bar area too which was lovely. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely return.

After driving around the Yorkshire Dale's, we were in need of a drink and snack. We came across this lovely little tearoom and we weren't disappointed, quirky and quaint I would say, very friendly, great value for money too.

Fantastic place. Roll with bacon and sausage was lovely. Really good quality ingredients and perfectly cooked. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. I've been coming here on caving trips for 25 years and always either start or finish the day in Inglesport. Love it. The only thing I'd say... bring back the pints of tea!!! And please don't ever stop doing the tiffin, it is the best on the planet.

On arrival the pub does not inspire confidence in the quality of food - but it was really very good. I was dubious about the sizes of sunday roasts after reading a previous review - and to be fair, the plates do not arrive loaded with masses of veg or mash. However, we all left feeling satisfied and it really felt like well prepared, high quality food. The steak and ale pie, and steak and ale yorkie had the same filling, which was superb.
