I wanted to thank the staff who served me back on August 13th 2022. I was cycling the Way of the Roses solo on a very hot day and had done about 45 miles by the time I arrived in Cracoe, I was suffering from heat exhaustion (shaking, felt sick, etc). They were really nice and gave me lots of ice in my drinks, and filled up my water bottles with ice cold water. The sit in the shade and the icy drinks got me through the remainder of my journey to Pateley Bridge. Thanks so much to the staff, very welcoming and helpful. Really Appreciated and saved my bacon that day.

My husband has been here three times now. I joined him with our relatives on the latest visit, when up at our nearby holiday property. The full English is excellent. Enjoyed by all. Generous portions. I had the small cooked breakfast with extra bacon as the sausage wasn’t gluten free. They did me gluten free fried bread too which was a real treat as I’ve not had fried bread in almost 20 years! Lovely cuppa. Friendly service. Will be back again. Thanks

Stopped for a snack and a drink. The cafe has a warm and welcoming feel to it, reinforced by the friendly hospitality of the staff. Sandwiches were excellent, as were the scones we had the following day. The place was clean and smart as were the toilets. Would certainly call again when in the vicinity.

Recent visit. The venue is charming and inviting. The staff were lovely and always seemed more than happy to help. We ordered two breakfasts, they were very nice but if honest a little pricey for what you get. Would at least think a round of toast (2 slices) should be added as standard. The egg cooked perfectly. I would visit again, yes as a treat.

Called in on 2nd June for a snack . I ordered garlic mushrooms on toast. ..The toast was toasted so lightly that it was soggy and not at all nice and I ate the garlic mushrooms.s and left the rest .I commented. after paying that the bread was soggy and needing toasting more to be told that I was the only one that had ever complained .All in all a shame I didn't make a fuss paid my bill and quietly advised him that the toast needed to be toasted more and that I couldn't eat mine to get a surly retort ..hence low stars

Took advantage of the 'help out to eat out deal'. We were met by a genial man and nothing was too much trouble. We went at lunchtime on a VERY hot day and the cafe was lovely and cool inside. I had chicken breast in a white sauce with bacon & mushrooms, my husband had the salmon with prawns in a sauce all served with fresh vegetables and amazing roast potatoes. We couldn't manage individual desserts and so shared a tasty homemade trifle. We couldn't fault the whole experience and will be back. Other reviews have said this is so much more than a cafe and it certainly is.

After a rather sad day at a funeral. We decided to stop off for some lunch. We were a group of 8 so expected to have a long wait we all orderd differently from hot sandwiches to full meals. All food was served in good time hot with a great selection of veg and potatoes. Not one of us in our group had a complaint. A great stop off with friendly staff and exelant food

I've eaten here a couple of times since they started opening on weekend evenings. The atmosphere is cosy and fun, the kids love it and food is first rate. The evening menu makes it hard to choose as they all sound fab, but the sirloin steak, roast beef and scampi all get five stars from us so far. There's a real buzz as people are talking so positively about it and it is getting a reputation as a great local option for good food and a bit of craic!

My experience of this place was not as favourable as other reviewers! Yes, the staff were very friendly, but for nearly FIVE QUID I expected a bit more than 'plastic wrapped white sliced' with cheap cheese and a spoonful of sandwich pickle and a small side of salad (including half a strawberry and an unpeeled slice of kiwi fruit!?!). I then debated whether to have a 'home-made' scone, or a dessert from the board. I chose the red berry 'crumble' from the board. It arrived molten hot within seconds; red berries were evident, but no crumble in sight. I then discovered the 'crumble' - a thick, grey, sticky layer at the bottom of the dish. Unfortunately due to microwaving, the 'crumble' had turned into what I can only describe as raw pastry (same ingredients after all, but cooked in a very different way). That stodgy offering set me back another FIVE QUID! Other diners seemed content with their Sunday roasts, so maybe that's all the 'home-made' offerings there are. Having stayed two nights at the excellent Devonshire Arms next door, I wish I'd gone back there for lunch before the long drive home, rather than Cracoe's - I was mistaken in thinking that the two establishments were partnered in some way - BIG mistake as they are poles apart. Had I decided on the Devonshire Arms for lunch I would have paid similar prices, but for very good quality food, not the equivalent (or worse) than a supermarket's 'value' brand. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff, but the food was very, very disappointing.

I have checked some of the food reviews for this place and they look to be pretty good. We called in a couple of weeks ago to try it for morning coffee. When in Cracoe I normally use the other cafe in the village, on the opposite site ot the road, next to the plant centre, which is very good. They may have been having a bad day at this one, but the coffee, if you can call it that, was the worst I have had, ever! Mine was like dishwater with, incredibly, virtually no coffee taste at all and my partner's cappucino was the same. A disgusting experience and not cheap either. I rarely use the terrible rating but this place deserves it. Avoid .

Have recently visited Cracoe's cafe twice at lunch time. There is easy parking right outside and a comfortable interior inside. The menu is reasonably extensive and should suit from the smallest to the largest appetites. As well as the printed menu, there are also a number of 'specials'. Most recently, I had the steak pie with shortcrust pastry. This was delicious and accompanied by a range of decently cooked fresh vegetables, including beetroot, which was a bit of a novelty. There was also a choice of chips or potatoes. Afterwards, I was too full for a dessert. At £9.50, this was reasonable value.I may well have given excellent had I sampled all the courses. Certainly to be recommended.

We have visited here on many occasions, and the food is always fresh and home made. The owner is always welcoming to his guests, and it is obvious that there are many regulars, not surprisingly. Added to this is the new addition of a biomass heating system which is very impressive. I can very much recommend Cracoe's for good, generously portioned food.

My wife and I found this little cafe by chance on a wet dreary Saturday. Oh what a find!!! The all day breakfast I had was, without exaggeration, THE best I have ever had. It was perfectly cooked and tasted sublime. My wife's meal similarly so. The young lady serving was efficient, polite and cheerful. The place was toasty warm, thanks to what appears to be a new boiler system that could probably heat the Royal Albert Hall, such was the roar of the flames inside it!! The prices might seem a little high for a small cafe at the side of the road, but believe me, the food is worth every penny and we will be back, without a doubt. Well done.

Stayed at The Lister Arms for a couple of nights mid week. We stayed in the Lister Barn which is a 2 minute walk from the actual pub. Cosy and warm, tastefully decorated with lovely toiletries - a real gem of a place. The main pub is really cosy, with a gorgeous fire burning all day and evening. Breakfast and dinner here were both really good with large portions. Lots of dogs inside the bar area too which was lovely. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely return.

Fantastic place. Roll with bacon and sausage was lovely. Really good quality ingredients and perfectly cooked. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. I've been coming here on caving trips for 25 years and always either start or finish the day in Inglesport. Love it. The only thing I'd say... bring back the pints of tea!!! And please don't ever stop doing the tiffin, it is the best on the planet.

On arrival the pub does not inspire confidence in the quality of food - but it was really very good. I was dubious about the sizes of sunday roasts after reading a previous review - and to be fair, the plates do not arrive loaded with masses of veg or mash. However, we all left feeling satisfied and it really felt like well prepared, high quality food. The steak and ale pie, and steak and ale yorkie had the same filling, which was superb.
